You can't see the full horror of the rhinestones on this picture but you get the idea Wink

Sorry potato I actually lol'd, that wallpaper us right up my alley! Grin

BunchOfBobs · 21/04/2016 20:04

Potato the photo really doesn't match the description. You've taken quite a flattering photo of what sounds like the most hideous house! Sorry it was such a disappointment. I hope the next one is better.

I've been to the gym for the first time in 3 weeks woohoo. Just did 15 mins brisk (for me) walk on the treadmill and 15 mins on the cross trainer and then my Physio exercises. As long as I'm keeping active I'm happy.

Back to swimming on Sunday, I've somehow got to tackle the horror below first though Hmm

leoniethelioness · 21/04/2016 20:11

Well done, Bunch! I remembered to bring my Next shopping home from work today and the swimming costume seems to fit with plenty of room to grow. I'm not much of a swimmer but we're going to have a bit of a paddle on holiday next week (Centre Parcs type place) and try to get into the habit of at least going at the weekend when we're back. I cancelled my gym membership in January as I was wiped out but I'm not sure if I should re-join to get some gentle exercise in or if just trying to walk more will be enough. What do you think? Is a gym membership worth it for an overweight pregnant lady?

That house doings hideous. What weird wallpaper.

Does anyone else suffer with pregnancy acne? I am usually prone to the odd spot when my period is due but I've had quite a few breakouts now - and I have a really spotty back which isn't normal for me at all. Feeling beautiful...

Laurenrl · 21/04/2016 21:30

Also need a swimming costume as at centre parcs in 2 weeks leonie I'll try next!

I totally forgot to tell you all who I went for my early gender scan they turned the scanner 3d for a few mins (I assume to get me to buy the package later in pregnancy) have you ever seen a 3d baby scan at 16 weeks? It's a bit eerie but cute haha

Laurenrl · 21/04/2016 21:31

When not who. Really need to stop clicking send before I spell check

ElleSarcasmo · 21/04/2016 21:33

Sorry I've been awol, I'm struggling to keep up! I had some bleeding on Monday so I ended up getting seen at the emergency gynae unit...they were so lovely, and thankfully this little bean was there with a heartbeat! I've never been so relieved!

Thread #5 - TTC#1 grads thread - now we're cooking with charcoal!
ElleSarcasmo · 21/04/2016 21:40

So sorry to hear your scan was postponed Indi, hopefully the time will pass quickly.

Bunch could you go to a salon? Or maybe buy some wax strips and hope that your aim is good?

Lauren did they give you any pics of the 3D?

Potato do you mind if I ask whether your fibroid was there pre pregnancy? When I had my scan, she said there was a fibroid there which apparently means I will have to have consultant led care, is that what you have had? Hope you're feeling better now.

Leonie I'm liking the sound of your holiday, hope it's relaxing. We have booked a couple of weeks off in May/June, I'd really like to go somewhere with a pool and with nice food, maybe Portugal.

shelbTa · 21/04/2016 22:00

Hi ladies

So much to catch up on!

Lovely scan Elle
Bastards postponing yours indi
Pleased you've got signed off potato
Bunch - yeah think you are following me on IG - I'm the one stood on a piece of ice on a lake in pic!

God I need a Big Mac after reading posts over past few days.

I've still got the shi$s pretty bad, basically two hours after I eat, four days now, that's all I've been up to. No temperature though and keeping hydration salts in for two hours, so postponing docs till next week....what you guys think - there's nothing about the squits that harm the baby is there? Google isn't much help.

Waves to everyone.

PotatosMum · 21/04/2016 22:23

Stark we can obviously no longer be friends Wink each to their own. I could probably have lived with the wallpaper temporarily if it hadn't been flocked and covered in inch wide plastic crystals Hmm

Bunch unfortunately that is the estate agent photo which has been doctored to not show the dirt, and gaps between the paper... It also was the least damaged room as it wasn't being used. Come to think of it it was the least ugly wallpaper too but they were careful not to photograph any of the other papers.

Well done on getting to the gym Smile you could give hair removal cream a go to tackle the pruning problem just be careful, every time I've used that stuff I've ended up with an inadvertent Brazilian!

Leonie whether you rejoin the gym or not really depends on whether you think you'll have the energy. Plus you'll likely have to stop in T3 regardless.

I've not got any spots on my face but my boobs are covered in little ones Blush

Elle sorry you had a scary Monday but yay to bean being healthy Smile

As far as the fibroid thing. I don't know if it was pre-pregnancy. Fibroids are very common and are rarely diagnosed as unless you're pregnant they just sit there being boring.
I am consultant lead but I was unlucky in that mine is very large. Did they tell you how big yours is and where it is?
Precasting fibroids can grow during the first trimester but they might not. If you're fibroid is relatively small and not near the base of your uterus it will probably make little difference. You will likely be advised to have a hospital birth as there is a slightly higher chance of bleeding so they will monitor you carefully and give you an injection to help you deliver the placenta. They will also probably give you a couple of extra scans during the third trimester just to check how the baby and fibroid is growing.
If the fibroid is at the base of your uterus and doesn't move out of the way during the pregnancy (mine started at the top and is now sticking out my left side so they do wander) you may be advised to have a section but in most cases it's not necessary.
The most common side effect is red degeneration which is where the fibroid cuts off its own blood supply and starts to die. It is by all accounts very painful but doesn't happen to everyone so keep your fingers crossed.
Oh, and your consultant will tell you you're at a higher risk of miscarriage. This will freak you out but don't worry. Studies show that it's only a couple of % over the first and second trimester, miscarriage due to fibroids is very rare but they have to scare warn you.
I've done quite a bit of research on the subject so any questions, please ask Smile

Crikey lots to catch up on!

Potato I'm sorry the house was such a disappointment. It's always such a letdown when you know it's not right 20 seconds after walking through the door. That wallpaper is quite something!

Elle congrats on a healthy bean, and sorry you've had a scare. Fingers crossed for plain sailing from here on out.

Flash definitely a preggo symptom, I am an eating machine at the moment. Can eat crisps until they come out of my ears!

Leonie I hope you have a fab holiday!

It's my 30th tomorrow (eek!) and DH is taking me away to a posh hotel in the Lake District for a few days next week. Cannot wait! Bunch, I braved the salon for a serious pruning so as not to frighten people in the swimming pool. Didn't find that it hurt any more than usual despite reading some horror stories.

Any exciting weekend plans coming up?

Laurenrl · 21/04/2016 23:35

elle Yeah here it is

Sorry you had a scare so glad everythings ok!

leoniethelioness · 22/04/2016 07:33

What a cool scan, Lauren! Starting to look like a real baby!

leoniethelioness · 22/04/2016 07:34

Happy birthday for tomorrow, Planeteer! Your holiday sounds like it'll be lovely!

Apparently the place where we are going offers pregnancy massages. I. Can't. Wait.

Canters15 · 22/04/2016 07:52

Cant remember who said about preg acne but I have it too! Was a bit spotty before pregnancy after coming off pill but skin has gone mental since. Feel guilty for using various acne creams I have lying around but I can't face scarring again either. Wah.

potato I kinda like the wallpaper but I definitely have questionable taste!

When did all you ladies start looking bigger in the tummy region? I am almost 10 weeks and over the last few days I've noticed a huge change. In the evenings I have started to look quite pregnant though mainly I look like I've been hammering the pies. I wasn't expecting to look so different so soon if I'm honest.

Starting night shifts tonight but had to get up as I forgot to cancel my cleaner. So have decided to make the most of it and go shopping- I need some bigger bras and some maternity tights as DH is freaking out about this being tight over my tummy. might buy some sneaky baby clothes also

shelbTa · 22/04/2016 08:04

Canters - I stared changing proper at about 15 weeks tummy wise. Tried on one of my old non mat dresses last night for a big meeting today - absolutely no chance!!! (21+4).

ElleSarcasmo · 22/04/2016 08:18

Happy birthday Planet! Hope you have a lovely day.

Thanks Potato, I will dig out the measurements later. Hopefully booking in this week (midwife is fully booked but going to do a home visit hopefully) so I'll ask her about it then.

Canters I've been bloated since week 6/7 and all my clothes are tight in the tummy area at 8+3. I wasn't small to start with though (size 14 and quite Apple shaped). I think I will need to go into maternity wear quite soon as everything cuts me in half! I definitely look like I've hit the pies Blush Hope you manage to get a nap this afternoon.

Amazing picture Lauren!

Shelb that sounds rotten Flowers

LisaTheGreek · 22/04/2016 08:27

Happy Birthday Planet!

Hope you have a lovely day and are being utterly spoiled by everyone! Thanks

Laurenrl · 22/04/2016 08:38

Thanks!

Happy birthday planet!

Also bookibg a pregnancy massage for when I go to centre parcs in 2 weeks leonie can't wait!

I used to be bloated in the evenings and then look normal all day. I still don't have a bump now (17+1) I just look fat haha. Maternity jeans won't stay up and other jeans cut me in half, leggings are my new best friend!

IndiX · 22/04/2016 09:06

Happy birthday planet enjoy your weekend!

Canters I'm 15+2, no bump and belly is pretty flat in the morning but as soon as I eat and especially after lunch time my belly definitely starts to pop out a bit.

Whoever mentioned pregnancy acne, I haven't got acne as such but I also have spotty boobs. Not really bad more like tiny little pimples..but I'm a picker so I obviously make it worse. I keep throwing sudocrem on them to stop me picking when I'm bored.

So me and DH had a big talk last night. He's not the most affectionate person in the world, he always says he loves me and I look nice etc but he's not very tactile or touchy feely. Don't get me wrong I'm not a clingy cuddly person myself but sometimes I want to be cuddled without having to ask or make the first move?! He also rarely initiates DTD, which I'm kind of used to as I just thought I had a higher sex drive but since becoming pregnant and my body is changing/hormones going crazy, I just started feeling like he didn't want me, especially in THAT way. He admitted maybe he takes me for granted and is getting lazy and he's so sorry etc..he's said he'll be more touchy now and make me feel more wanted. We'll see..I feel like we've had this convo loads in our relationship but now I'm pregnant maybe I'm just more sensitive to it.
Long post sorry.
Off to the gym soon, that'll make me feel better and then we have date night tonight. We're going on a day trip to Edinburgh tomorrow for a shop and a nice lunch so looking forward to that.
Anyone else got any weekend plans? Hope the sun is still shining for you all

Sodasoda · 22/04/2016 09:23

Happy birthday planet! Hope you get spoilt today Smile

shelb - that sounds rotten. I have the opposite problem and have entirely forgotten what it's like to poo at all to be honest. Dr prescribed me some lactulase along with my iron tablets but not too keen on taking anything artificial.

elle really pleased everything is looking good. I think quite a few of us had early bleeding.

lauren have you tried under bump jeans? They're pretty good when you are a bit big for normal jeans but over bump jeans aren't right yet.

canters I noticed my tummy was bigger by around 10 weeks too. I think it was mainly bloat and nobody else really noticed but I could tell. I was wearing maternity jeans by 12 weeks but I've only really got an actual bump in last couple of weeks (see pics I posted earlier!). I'm 19+2.

I'm off on hols next weekend for 10 days - seems to be the holiday season! I can't wait! I bought a couple of swimming costumes from jojo maman Bebe which will do the trick and I'm going for a major wax job next week!

Shame the house wasn't right potato. Do you have any others you're viewing?

So relieved it's nearly the weekend! It's been a hard slog at work this week and I'm knackered!

Waves to everyone

BunchOfBobs · 22/04/2016 09:33

Happy Birthday Planet.

Canters I had bloat from week 6/7. I knew it was bloat as it wasn't there when I woke up. The same at 10 weeks. From week 13 I had a mini bump at any time of day which has only gotten bigger. But I've been in maternity jeans since week 8 as due to the bloat I couldn't fit in normal clothes.

Regarding preggo acne. I was same wig having bad skin coming off the pill but it got so much worse once pregnant. Absolutely awful on my back, but also on my face- mostly forehead, and around mouth/chin, and chest. My face has only really cleared up this week (23+6 currently) and I'm not confident it will stay gone. I'm swearing by the pine tar soap I've started using but it could be a hormonal change.
I'm also a horrendous picker Indi so I always make them worse and spread Blush
Be careful with acne creams in pregnancy, I've read some are not safe to use.

Indi I have a very similar DH with regards to dtd. I always seem to have to initiate it and due to being preggo I totally feel the "oh my body is changing so clearly he thinks I'm fat now" rather than remembering it's almost always been like this. It's good to talk to them about it so you've done the right thing. Fx he bucks up. Enjoy date night Smile I'm supervising DH jet washing the decking this weekend. Fun times.

Soda were you around when I had my hideous lactulose experience. Personally I would do everything in your power diet wise before resorting to it l. I was up all night with the worse cramps ever and nearly considered going to hospital. The worse trapped wind imaginable!! I've found mask let increasing my fluid intake, weetabix and fruit for breakfast helps and ladies on here swear by fig rolls.

IrregularCommentary · 22/04/2016 09:48

Happy Birthday Planet!

I'm 16+1and currently just in normal jeans, but a size up. They're not perfect, but I hate jeans shopping at the best of times so searching online for them just isn't doing it for me. Especially as they're all bloody skinny leg ones. I've never ever had anything other than generously sized legs, and I can't see that suddenly changing so I cba to even try anything that's billed as skinny.

To be too fat for maternity jeans is probably more than my ego can take right now!

Mileymoocow · 22/04/2016 10:32

Happy 30th planet!!! Hope you have a fabulous day GrinFlowers

leonie I have a few spots on my back which is unusual for me! Bloody pregnancy!

Just had our house valued, we have a 3 bed terrace which around here are usually around 85m2 and ours is 112m2 which is brilliant. We have done a lot of work to it and I'm pleased that it's worth 12K over what we thought. We aren't moving until next year though but it's definitely good to know!

Mileymoocow · 22/04/2016 10:41

I'm at that 'is she fat or pregnant?' stage. I have a little bump but nothing that screams baby. Just maybe a kind of 'who ate all the pies?' I'm fine with it though. I know I'll pop soon and it'll be noticeable. I've lost weight from my hip area and thighs/arse. Could be from lack of weight lifting or poor eating though. I've managed to gain about 4 or 5lb but still -5lb pre pregnancy.

What's everyone's weekend plans? OH finally has a weekend off and I can't wait to spend time with him. I may even groom my nethers Wink been no point lately between constant vomit and OH worrying he'll batter my cervix and make me bleed again.
