I'm going girl as well Indi! Hope all goes well tomorrow.

I think maybe I have overdone it with the running. Now feel really sick Confused Will be off home to bed as soon as the clock strikes 5pm! It's horrible being stuck in the office when it's such a nice day!

PotatosMum · 20/04/2016 14:04

Shelb hope the poops clear up soon. Typical really, if it's not one problem it's another!

Pink I get period like cramps sometimes but mostly they turn out to be trapped wind Blush

I'm also full of irrational pregnancy fears. Including that of I sit on the loo too long the baby will fall out Blush

Miley actually laughed out loud at passing a porcupine! Grin

Lara good luck with the valuation Smile hope yours sells as quickly as mine did Grin

Nev great news about the scan. I can't remember, are you finding out the sex?

Canters how was the midwife appointment?

Good luck for tomorrow's scan Indi I think I will abstain from gender guessing as I couldn't even get my own baby right.

So my midwife appointment was good. Potato kicked the midwife when she tried to listen to her heart and then went to hide lol
My blood pressure is a little high and Potato is measuring a little big but nothing to be concerned with.
The midwife was concerned with how big and tender my fibroid is though as has made me a Dr appointment so that I can be signed off for a couple of weeks. She's hoping that if I rest up it may give it a chance to recuperate a bit but she thinks it's more likely that I'm going to be in increasing levels of pain and discomfort for the rest of my pregnancy thanks for that

Lots of catching up to do!

Miley your nursery is gorgeous, so bright and sunny! I love it.

Planet sorry to hear about the bedbugs! We had to have ours done for carpet moths a few months back, it was such a bloody nightmare! Last thing you need!

Nev great to hear your scan went well!

Bunch glad your blood tests are normal again! Great news Smile

Potato fantastic news about the flat YAY!!! Now you can start making all your forward plans Thanks

I managed one work out (well, half of a workout) on Saturday, but haven't managed to have a stretch of not feeling nauseous since. It's bloody hard to work out when you think you're going to vom on yourself Confused Last night was my first session of actually being sick - I'm slightly disappointed there isn't an Ovia milestone for it Grin So freaking nauseous though!

The last two days I've swapped to bacon butties for breakfast. I'm finding I need a full mix of carbs, protein and sugar in the morning to dampen down the nausea for a couple of hours. (I discovered that by accident eating left over duck chow mien last week). But that's it, that's the best I can hold it off for, and then it's back with a vengeance til I sleep. I'm practically mainlining ginger tea. Today I've had bacon butty, two bits of toast, bowl of strawberries, half a grapefruit, a cheese twist pastry, and about half a tub of caramel brownie ice cream BlushBlush I try to be healthy, and then I ram in a load of unhealthy stuff. I'm going to be so fat before I even make it to booking in. I cried last night because I was scared the midwife would tell me off for being fat. DH thinks I've gone mad...

I got my booking in appt through though for next Thursday.

PotatosMum · 20/04/2016 14:15

Imp you can lose weight later, if you have morning sickness just go with it and eat whatever helps you survive!

I have a great deal of respect for people who manage to maintain a healthy pregnancy diet but for my own sanity, if I want a whole family bar of chocolate and a tub of ice cream, that is what I will eat damn it! Wink

imp this kid's going to be called Big Mac if I don't stop. But it's the only thing I can face at the minute! Haven't eaten maccies in well over a year and I'm on two in two days!

PotatosMum · 20/04/2016 15:00

Mmmm... McDonald's, I know what I'm having for dinner!!!

Pinklily1 · 20/04/2016 15:57

This afternoon isn't going well. Have been hideously sick and now have awful cramps, the kind where you can't sit up straight they are so horrible. Not sure what's going on Hmm

Sodasoda · 20/04/2016 16:33

Sorry to hear that pink - have you given your midwife a call? Hopefully they'll be able to advise.

Good news on your scan nev

Good luck for scan tomorrow indi. I'm going for boy but just to even things up a bit on here!

I'm at the hospital waiting to see my obs consultant. I say waiting because my appointment was 1 hour and 20 minutes ago and apparently there are 4 people still ahead of me! How is that even possible?! Angry

Mileymoocow · 20/04/2016 16:55

Mine will be called mango babybel - I feel you may have met a stripper with this name starky

pink that sounds very shitty! Can't you have a couple of days off work to get yourself rested?

imp I agree with potato, I try so hard to be healthy but end up having to just ram in whatever I can whenever my body will let me. I had big plans of living on healthy meals and basically eating a lot of chicken, sweet potato and broccoli. Did not happen.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 20/04/2016 17:01

Lol I wish miley that's one of those names you wouldn't forget!

I'm literally just eating whatever my body tells me to at the minute (which is mainly meat!) I'll sort my diet out when I get a bit further in (fx) as I'm not eating much, but I'm sooooo uncomfortably bloated and retaining water like a blimp! It's grim! I'm only comfortable when I'm lying down at the minute!

Hope you're feeling better soon pink Flowers

Morwenna1 · 20/04/2016 17:02

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Indi I am going to say boy as well Smile

Are you still at work Pink?! Hope you feel better soon...do you think it was from overdoing the running?

Morwenna1 · 20/04/2016 17:04

Just got the Mumsnet books off Amazon (used in good condition, they came to £10!) Babies, Toddlers and Why Did No-one Tell Me. So easy to read I'm practically half way through the Babies book already! I've been snorting with laughter at all the anecdotes as well.

IndiX · 20/04/2016 17:31

Sorry this is going to be a rant style selfish post. I've just had a massive hissy fit/tantrum becuase my scan has been cancelled tomorrow and rescheduled for next Thursday instead. I literally have just cried my eyes out I'm so disappointed, I really really wanted to see Bean and we've been so excited to find out the sex. The sonographer had her reasons and was very apologetic but still doesn't make me feel better. Aarghh cancelling less than 24hours on a hormonal pregnant woman is NOT good!
I wouldn't worry about your diet in the early stages ladies, just eat what you can, when you can

PotatosMum · 20/04/2016 17:36

Oh no Pink you poor thing Sad

Soda I know exactly how you feel. My Dr appointment today was over an hour late. How do they let that happen?!

Ooo... Nice bargains Mor

So, I've been signed off again. The Dr examined me and said she thought the midwife was being more than sensible to suggest I need time off and gave me a sick note for 2 weeks with a see how I feel at the end of it caveat.

Nevlet · 20/04/2016 17:48

Indi i would have been distraught at well had mine been changed Chocolate to try and distract you!

Pink that sounds horrible hope you got away from work and are resting up! *

Potato* glad you will be getting a rest and yes we found out sex at a private scan at 17 weeks and they confirmed he is still a boy today!

Canters15 · 20/04/2016 18:00

pink poor you, hope you're feeling better soon.

potato glad you got signed off easily, I hope the rest bells.

Sorry about the scan indi that's really disappointing for you.

The midwife appointment was good, she's very nice and down to earth. She got a bit flustered trying to take blood and missed the vein (I am a Dr which made her nervous) so have to go off to phlebotomy sometime to get them done as she didn't want to try again despite my protests that it really didn't matter. She also said to be there's no way you'll be interested in a home birth is there, i was like nope GrinGrin so all good!

Canters15 · 20/04/2016 18:02

Hope the rest helps that should say!! No idea what rest bells are!

Pinklily1 · 20/04/2016 18:04

soda, that is a ridiculous waiting time! I never understand how they can get so far behind. Hope you have been seen by now.

Indi, I would be fuming at that. Less than 24 hours notice is not impressive. Have a treat of some sort tonight to cheer you up. CakeChocolateThanks

Potato, take the time to relax. Is the fibroid starting to really bother you?

I've left work early and am now snuggled up on the sofa whilst OH cooks dinner. The sickness has died down but I am still getting the tummy pains. I think it's baby's way of telling me to stop running, so I'm going to stick to spinning and Aqua natal instead.

Do people have direct telephone numbers for their midwives? I've only just realised that I don't!

Pinklily1 · 20/04/2016 18:16

Canters, glad your appointment went well (apart from the blood issue!)

In relation to eating, in the first trimester I just ate whatever I could whenever I could, around the sickness. I figure a Big Mac is better than nothing!!

Sodasoda · 20/04/2016 18:31

That's awful indi There's such a build up before a scan, I get really nervous / excited and even if it was delayed a day I'd be upset.

I'm just out the hospital!! I had over a 2 hour wait and then had to wait 45 mins for my prescription at the pharmacy Angry Uninpressed is an understatement. The dr was lovely when I finally got to see her. I'm going to have growth scans every 4 weeks as I'm at risk of pre-eclampsia due to long running high blood pressure issues which can make baby smaller. Things are fine at the moment so just got to keep fingers crossed everything stays like this.

I'm just eating what j feel like but trying to keep within reason. Although I did have a jam donut at hospital today. It was delicious!

Glad your DH is looking after you pink. Have you checked your notes? There is a midwife number in there for me - a mobile number. I've only actually seen a midwife once as I seem to just be seeing dr but I've programmed it into my phone just in case!

Feefeefs · 20/04/2016 18:56

I also had a Big Mac for dinner. Last night ate loads of veg, fruit snacks and oatcakes then had to spend about 25 minutes in the loo at work, I seem to get nausea and diarrhoea rather than vomiting!

Totally scared the midwife will telling me up for being fat, because I am. I think my reaction may just be to tell her to fuck off tho due to current narkiness!

Nevlet · 20/04/2016 19:03

I had mcdonalds for breakfast after scan, 4 bakery sausage rolls for lunch, three bags of crisps and a donut in meeting after school, and have a roast for dinner. Not even ashamed right now.

I am slightly concerned my hormones are effecting me I have just replied to a post on AIBU ... We may be in for dopplergate p2 from months ago!

Nevlet · 20/04/2016 19:04

Oh and i forgot the whole share bag of toffee crisp pieces between mcdonalds and sausage rolls... Am now hungry again just thinking about food!

BunchOfBobs · 20/04/2016 19:17

Ooh Nev do tell more, I love a good AIBU.

Nevlet · 20/04/2016 19:21

Well I read them for a laugh often out loud to DP but all the anti teacher ones really wind me up (we are both teachers) and just had to respond! Its a thread about low attendance and an email (she is right about the email and not BU) but i had to defend schools attendance policy because we get no choice legally but to follow it up! Now im cross to be thinking about work on an evening haha!
