Nice to see you back InTheseShoes. Glad your scan went well. Fingers crossed there are no diebetes problems. When will you know?

hello everyone, would like to join your group if it's not too late. I'm due on 4th May (scan before Christmas said a girl). Already have a DD 6.5yrs and DS 4yrs.

This pregnancy was a big surprise (shock!) -we weren't going to have any more children and had just moved 100 miles to a complete project of a house - something to keep me busy as I only work (very) part time - until the DC were both at school!

So now I'm nearly 24 weeks, permanently whacked, not sure if that's because I'm 38, run ragged by the DC or due to too much digging in the garden and wallpaper stripping. The house has got to be rewired and a two storey extension built, all before May hopefully - a downstairs bathroom is not good at the best of times and especially not when you're expecting.

Anyway, hello again to everyone, hope I'll be able to keep up with all the messages...

JonahB · 09/01/2007 22:21

intheseshoes congrats on your scan today - really pleased for you. Did you find out the flavour?
Its a shame that wasn't you in Nero's. That pgt lady had a gorgeous maternity jumper on and if it had been you, I'd have been finding out the source . Lols at your coughing my name. I'm the same. The poor woman must have thought I was a nutter as I did sort of smile at her. Let's hope I NEVER see her again!! I'm at the nursery on dane road..

JonahB · 09/01/2007 22:23

cross posts - welcome toomanyprojects!!!!

cinnamontam · 09/01/2007 23:16

TYG - you definitely get on the blower tomorrow and kick some ass. They can pay a professional to come and do it. That is disgusting. You gotta work the pregnancy angle as well - who would let a pregnant woman slave over a filthy house they have just bought. Arghhhh

Hi toomanyprojects - good luck with all the house stuff Can understand how the timing of it all is less than perfect

charleymouse · 09/01/2007 23:41

Sorry to everyone whos details I'd lost/not updated on the list. Congratulations on all these scans - kep those results/pics coming in.

Welcome toomanyprojects. I think we are in the same boat, we have bought a barn (think more shed) to convert and have the builders in at the moment. Worringly we have not completed yet and have paid the builders more than the vendor but hopefully it will be alright as they are FIL neighbours/friends, we have had other things to worry about so that has gone right to the bottom of my list of concerns. Luckily we are staying in the house we are in at the moment as we are both pretty useless practically and want to keep under the same care team. The only problem is the mortgage on 2 places at once it makes my eyes water.

Twin 1 wanted toast and marmalade for breakfast this morning whilst twin 2 wanted black pudding so I had to oblige them both.

cinnamontam · 10/01/2007 08:11

What does black pudding taste like?

Creena · 10/01/2007 09:29

LOL! I just did the fun test MKG posted up and was told that I have a 50% chance of having a bot and a 50% chance of having a girl. No kidding.

Congrats on your scans, Pinkjenny % Intheseshoes.

Lovely piccies, Charleymouse! Both you and LG&T have lovely looking bumps - proper preggie bumps rather than the wobbly gut I seem to have acquired!

Hi to toomanyprojects - I kind of know how you feel; I'm also 38 and on my third pregnancy now (although I don't have my hands as full as you do)!

Well, I managed to have my scan a little bit earlier than planned. I had a stupid accident on Monday that was entirely my own stupid fault (let's just say that DH has forbidden me to go near curtains again at any point during this pregnancy!) and my midwife thought it best for me to get checked out at the hospital. Happily, I've done nothing more serious than pull a couple of muscles in my back. During my check up, they also did my anomaly scab for me, so I didn't have to wait until Thursday! Everything is fine and dandy and as it should. Apparently, the baby has very long legs - obviously takes after DH, then. Got to see yawning, stretching, waving, kicking, bouncing and chillin' out with arms behind head. It was all really amazing and DH had a bit of a blub (due to joy at seeing bobba and relief that everything is ok). As the scan was unexpected, I didn't really get the chance to talk to DH again about finding out the sex. I decided to see if I could spot anything for myself but couldn't. As bobba was moving around and kicking quite a bit and I didn't see anything obvious sticking out, I'm sticking with my suspicion that this one is a girl. I've updated the last set of stats posted up;

notsolilKel · 10/01/2007 09:44

Morning all! 9 days till my scan, oh I'm so excited...

DS (10mo) has been lots of work lately though. Something about learning to crawl has given him all sorts of new self confidence and makes it harder to control him (no, don't eat the dog food no, don't play with the fireplace no, no no --). With potty training on top of it I am really exhausted. But I know I've got to put the work in now, or else I'm dead when the new baby comes!

I'm taking him to nursery for the first time tomorrow afternoon. Going to see if a half-day suits him & me. Hoping a bit of a rest will refresh me and the playing will tire him out!!

Funny but in the past I always thought, oh those SAHMs, they must have the life, what with time for manicures, coffees, etc etc HA HA HA now I know the truth! But it's great, I would rather be tired raising him than tired from slaving for some corporate guy just for a few £££.

What're we all having for lunch today? I know, I just finished breakfast, but it's nearly 10 !!

katybumps · 10/01/2007 10:53

well finally managed to make it to work and i got sent home! i'm not fit to work so theyve given me the rest of the week off i did tell them i wasnt well , think they thougt i was putting it on

congrts to you all with scans, good luck to all those with scans this week

scootermum · 10/01/2007 12:03

Hi all,

Sorry to hear you are poorly katy, but nice to have the rest of the week off eh?

Well, I never made it to the midwife yesterday as I got stuck in traffic and it took me 3.5 hours to get home. They were doing some roadworks on the A10 and it took me 2 hours to go 3 miles. When I was adjacent to the roadworks I noticed that the men, rather than working to clear the 7 miles traffic tailback they were causing, were in fact having a cup of tea.I was LIVID!!
I know everyone is entitled to a break but dear God it was beyond a joke...
So have another appointment next Tues.Bit worried as baby hasnt really moved for a few days now-which I got regularly with dd but then she was never much of a kicker.Might call the maternity department later if no wriggling..

I wonder how 12yeargaps house moving is going.I hope she kicked off with the vendor/estate agents.

I never got to KK last night largegandt as byt the time I got to there Id had enough, but its on my to do list, promise..

Hi to the newbie!
Ah, the sun has just come out-just in time for luncheon.Lunch centres arorund Doritos today-Ive a real thing for the cool original ones, and also really fancy a vanilla custard mullerrice for some reason..Healthy eh?But have eaten about 10 bits of fruit already today so baby has been catered for.

ShowOfHands · 10/01/2007 12:28

Trying to add a bump pic for you all.

Where's the link to add a pic. gone to on Member Profiles??

ShowOfHands · 10/01/2007 12:46

Sorted

my bump

largeginandtonic · 10/01/2007 13:27

Afternoon all, how's it going?

Wake up MKG i want to hear about yesterday...>

Scooter poor you sat in hideous traffic and no midwife reward at the end. Im sure the baby is just sleeping, have some mega fizzy sweets that always wakes mine up.

Lil....not really potty training a 10 month old.....???? You must be crazy, far too much like hard work. I leave mine to last minute so they can do it straight away. I have nooooo patience with it

TYG at nast vendour....whered he move too, lets get him girls >

Glad you are ok after your very silly fall Creena...tut...tut...

In these shoes lovely to have you back, glad the scan was ok

I have been to my friends scan, she is 7+2 days, a very tiny blob showed up. Seems like forever ago i saw Digby (still like the name) like that!

Charleymouse Digby wanted quiche for lunch and ...um....the placenta wanted soup. So had both just to keep them quiet! Not sure this i can eat 2 different things is fair...

largeginandtonic · 10/01/2007 13:29

And a huge welcome to you toomanyprojects, babies always come when it suits them, im not sure we have much of a say really....!

SOH have looked at your bump, it's just like mine! I love your dress too, would like one.

SKYTVADDICT · 10/01/2007 13:37

Hello all and welcome toomanyprojects.

The second nursery yesterday was nice too so I will be putting a £50 deposit down which is returnable if I give 4 weeks notice and they have nurserycam so I can see myself logging in lots.

DP got our first digital camera after xmas so I am going to have to get him to look how you get photos on pc then I can post picture of bump too. He doesn't think there is any rush but if I tell him its coz I want to show bump to you lot he will think its hilarious.

cinnamontam · 10/01/2007 14:08

I'm having a very runny mushroom risotto from Pret and a boring sandwich...urghh

katybumps · 10/01/2007 14:13

soh your bumps cool mine goes in at the middle like a kidney bean

Pebblemum · 10/01/2007 14:17

Afternoon ladies, bumps and newbies

For lunch today i have had a lovely beef hotpot with a slice of bread to mop up the gravy, it was lovely and it is one thing i know ds2 loves.

Talking of ds2 today is his first day at pre-school, he is there from 1-3.30pm and its the first time ive left him there so fingers crossed he is ok. ABout now is when the trouble could start as they have finished playing, tidie up and will just be finishing snack. After which they then do small group time which ds2 hated yesterday, he couldnt understand why he wasnt allowed to play with what he wanted. I think it will take him a while to settle into their very structured routine but hopefully he will still have fun and want to keep going back. Although im clock watching and havent been without my mobile since dropping him off its nice having time to myself. I had planned to do a bit of housework but sod it, plenty of time for that tomorrow, for now im just going to have me-time.

notsolilKel · 10/01/2007 14:25

Afternoon. Got DS off to sleep so a bit of peace and quiet now. Ahhhhhhhhhh

MKG starting to worry, hopefully you're just too busy shopping for frilly pants and pink booties to update us all...(worried face) really do hope you're ok...

Scooter ditto the suggestion for a little shot of caffeine to wake up the sprog. Mine loves chocolate. Hmmm.

However I watched 'you are what you eat' last night and I am totally put off crisps and want to eat cabbage now. That show is revolting (I mean, who could actually examine an adult poo so closely?!? Blech ) but it's a great motivator for eating more fruit & veg & fibre stuff.

For lunch though I had a bagel w/ cream cheese and a bagette with mozz & tomato so not exactly spilling over with good stuff . Must tuck into the apples this afternoon!!

I am making tiny bits of progress with DS's potty training. I figure it's worth a go at 10mo. It might work, which would be great. I catch some stuff after naps/sleeps but always miss the after-meal wees and poos. It's supposed to be 20 minutes after a drink, but not my boy. Grrrr.

Oh and Digby is very cool name LG&T!! For girls we've always liked Siena (honeymoon memories) but for lads all we've got is James Philip as it's the mandatory family name. BOR-ING....!!!!

Finally can't post photo of bump yet as I've got no proper bump just a load of wobby lard where my waist and abs used to be . Waiting till I hit 21 weeks!!

notsolilKel · 10/01/2007 14:27

Cinnamontam, please eat some of Pret's apple cake for me. It's so lovely (mouth waters....). Or their almond croissants in the morning. MMM.

Creena · 10/01/2007 14:47

Katybumps - I have a 'double bump' just like you! It goes right in at the belly button. I'm hoping that, once my belly button starts to pop out, I end up with a more normal looking 'mono bump'. At the moment, I just look like I overdid it quite a bit over Christmas.

I've just done a belated TPT measurement and I've gone down half a sheet to 9 sheets. I mustn't be measuring correctly as I am, in fact, the size of a house.

So, has anyone heard from Jessinwa at all lately? I really hope that she hasn't left us - I enjoyed having her around and I hope that she's ok.

katybumps · 10/01/2007 14:53

creena i've managed to convince myself that its just were my waste band goes and when the weather warms up i can wear dresses and have a lovely neat bump

scootermum · 10/01/2007 14:59

Couldnt MKG pop round and see if Jess is ok?Or would it be the equivalent of me going to Prague or somewhere-I cant remember where MKG lives or if its Washington DC or Washington Seattle that Jess is in..
I hope she is just busy moving to Australia-that was about now right?

My bump looks huge and blobby compared to everyone else's lovely neat ones. And so does the rest of me.I have got a fat back now.Its horrid.I have a tattoo of a lizard on my lower back and its beginning to look like and alligator!

Where is the frock from SOH?-lovely pattern..
