Morning Ladies.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
drkgpink · 13/01/2007 15:10

Creena, I'm a doctor and if you think it is thrush you can use the canesten pessary in pregnancy, best to use it without the applicator though just for comfort. diflucan (the tablet) is definately a no no.

Creena · 13/01/2007 15:15

Thanks, DrPink! That's really useful to know. I popped to the chemist earlier and checked out all of the Canestan products they had in stock. Some had contraindications printed on the packs regarding pregnancy, so I picked out a couple of creams that didn't. Sadly, when I tried to buy them, the chemist refused to let me have them and told me that I have to ask my doctor for something on prescription only. Grrrrrrr!!

Good afternoon ladies

LG&T - your young look very smart with their new hair cut. And your little blonde muchkin looks soooo yummy.

FSF - Hope A is back safe and sound and that you arent running around too much, although after eating a fillet o fish and a big mac i doubt very much that you can .

MKG - congrats on your little blue one. Glad to see you back on line.

largeginandtonic · 13/01/2007 18:16

Mc D's was yum, i had a quarter pounder with bacon and onion rings mmmmmmm FSF hope you, liked your fillet o fish and the burger! Also i hope the chick burger, and milkshake went down well...i never have milkshake in there im always too stuffed from a meal. Dont they have seaweed in their milkshake? Not that, that would stop me, i quite like seaweed

Have had such a boring day, took the 3 youngest to asda after Mc D's, it was a nightmare, sooooo busy. They have lots of very nice clothes in there at the mo tho, longer teashirts and smocky type tops that cover the bump well.

Re the painful sex thing, i have had it before. It was not thrush though, the baby was just in a funny position and i think it had pushed everything else around down there. It hurt for a while but soon it all shifted and was not uncomfortable anymore. I also get thrush alot in prg, usually towards the end and i cant get rid of it. It disappears straight after the baby is born though. I dread it coming...

Hope you are all ok, bet you all have exciting sat evenings planned, i do not Am so desperate to get out, even to the cinema. No babysitter, no dh...

Casualty it is.....

notsolilKel · 13/01/2007 19:38

MKG just wanted to say a big hello & glad you're back & wow another boy......my fear is another boy even though DS is a real sweetie!

aprilmeadow · 13/01/2007 19:39

I managed to convince my dad to babysit for us tonight as we are going mad being in the house the whole time. Only to a mates house but it beats staring at our 4 walls.

Quite fancy a McD's now it keeps being mentioned, but alas i will have to make do with a tomato and herb pasta bake

Just watching Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban - great frilm. I love HP and cant wait til the next installment of film and book is out.

I also went to Adsa today and managed to fill my trolley! I got all the essentials and thought i was doing fairly well, but got sucked in down the cake and nicities aisle - oh dear is all i can say, have bought rather a few too many nice things..... choc brownies, choc cornflake cakes, mini choc rolls, hot X buns, think thats my lot! But on the good side i did fill my vegetable box up in the fridge and that has nice htings in like strawberries and kiwi as well as bg standard stuff. I cant wait to tuck into all of that

largeginandtonic · 13/01/2007 22:31

Dont fear the boy's LIL. they are soooo lovely!

April, i too love HP, i cant wait for the new book, it's out soon isnt it? Has the title been released yet? Soooo excited, i ordered it from amazon last time and it came the morning it was released, i didnt leave the couch for 2 days! Poor neglected children, hope this book comes out before our LO's are due!

FSF hope A is ok and has settled in to bed\the couch comfortably....I have a question from N for you (dh) I like the name Beau for new baby, he says it is daft in French as they will see it as poncy, as we want to end up living there he is concerned. What do you think?

Am off to get a donut, have eaten my plate full of spinach, peppers, celery, toms and oven baked mushrooms with garlic and parsley. The baby needs some junk....

aprilmeadow · 14/01/2007 07:35

LG&T, the new book is called Harry Potter and the Deathly Gallows. Dont think it is due out til the summer. The last one came out when ds was about 2mths old. Took me 7 days to read it. We must also be due a film installment as well fairly shortly...

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2007 09:36

Hope you had a nice evening April, that title was news to me, soooo excited now! We must be due a film too, i went to see the last one at midnight the day it was released! The cinema was full of students, i felt very old...

Im eating museli, very healthy but i did eat a choc donut (not a KK)and some foam banannas. I may ruin it all later and make pancakes with bacon and maple syrup mmmmmmmmm

It is all sunny here today so am hoping to take all the kids out for a bike ride along the beach. I dont bike it (oh no) i push Hugs and they charge on ahead, i love it. We totally ruin the peace and quiet od the drippy, v slow sunday moochers...

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2007 10:01

Morning,

lg&t enjoy your bike ride give gran a wave please. I really like the name Beau, In french it means beautiful so maybe thats why they think it's a bit poncey for a boy? I've not heard of it being poncey for a boy here but then to be fair I don't know any beau's here. I know of one in the UK.

Todays plan involves cooking and ironing, Borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring.

Beautiful scan pic Meggle, glad to see you back on line.

hey AM, glad you got out for an evening.

Frenchsmallfry · 14/01/2007 10:28

Ohhhhhh and I forgot, I have some breaking news!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WAIT FOR IT...................

I have a BUMP!!!!!!!!!

It's only a little one but it is there and hard not just wobbly bits. I think baby must have shifted overnight and has appeared this morning, it is a little acrobat.

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2007 12:59

A bump...surely not FSF....bet u turn in to a biffa like the rest of us this time next week

Is Granny ok by the way? Does she have family to go and see her, i would be very happy to call in on her and chat, make her a cuppa. Even take her out to do her shopping if she would like! I only have Hugs in the day...till May, hee, heee...so would be very happy to do it. I could even make her some lemon cake for her elevenses..

I like Beau too, more than Digby at the moment... I thought if we gave him a strong middle name it would be ok, just cant think of one to match. Here is my list

Monty
Edward (Teddy)
Sonny
Wilbur
Maximo
Lucian
Madoc
Hector
Gideon
Caspian (love this too)
Cosmo\Cosimo

What do you think?

Pinktrappedwindjenny · 14/01/2007 12:59

Morning all.

The not telling anyone I'm having a girl is not going well. So far I've told my mum, my nan, two of my friends, and everyone at work. Dh will go mad if he finds out, although he is still convinced it is a boy and wants a stewards enquiry.

LGT your little boy is so cute, all those curls! He looks like he should be wearing a halo!

Jellybean - I am so sorry, don't really know what to say. I am going to call my little girl Mia too, and your story just breaks my heart. We are all here for you.

Katy - KK in Manchester? How exciting, Liverpool isn't too far for a daily fix? I could alternate between KK and creme eggs.

Juicy - what happened to Kylie? Did she look really unwell at the start of the show? Did they say flu?

Hope you are all well, and its lovely to catch up after a few days, feel the hormones are settling a bit now.. The wind isn't though.

Am SO jealous of all your scan pictures. Mine is pants, she was lying on her tummy with her bum up, so all we can see on the pic is a spine, a bent leg and the side of her head. My mum couldn't believe I'd paid £4 (!) for it, but I couldn't say, oh no, its rubbish, I don't want it!

Still pondering the 3d thing.

katybumps · 14/01/2007 13:53

lg&t i wanted to call ours ran if it was a boy but loved the name beau as a middle name . just couldn't get my head round the sly stallone thing love beau though always have think it just sums up everything about babies x

Frenchsmallfry · 14/01/2007 13:58

lg&t,
Grannine is fine, she is a fairly fit 87 yr old. She struggles a little with the stairs in her flat as she lives on the top floor so has 3 flights to climb but considering she does really well. I will ask her if she'd like any company occassionaly next time I speak to her. She would adore hugs and is very easy going with children. Thank you so much for your very kind offer I know she struggles sometimes with getting to asda, she usually takes the bus there and then gets a taxi home but it means she is very limited to what she can buy. She may like the opportunity to have someone to take her there.

Mum and I are planning to come over for a few days with M in Feb and will probably stay with Gran so we could meet up again then?

Frenchsmallfry · 14/01/2007 14:02

Oh yes, and I like Lucian,

Beau Lucian, I think that sound lovely, Lucian is very French too.

Now don't laugh Please, I would like honest opinions, What do you all think of Penelope?(yes as in pitstop)
You see I quite like Penny?

It's not a definate, it's just a thought at he moment so I won't be offended at all by any negative replys.

LupinsBigLump · 14/01/2007 14:06

FSF Well done on reaching bump status

Ok ladies I have a possibly embarrassing question - how damp do you get, due to my history I am getting a bit concerned I have felt quite wet a couple of times today - enough to feel I needed a pad - altho pad is now dry, dont know if its wee dont think so and doesnt seem like discharge - just wondring how damp is normal - going to ring mw tomorrow and ask - bit embarrasing tho if its wee - altho better that than amnio fluid

Pinktrappedwindjenny · 14/01/2007 14:15

Lupins - I am reasonably 'moist' most of the time - enough for it to stain my, er, undergarments if I wasn't wearing a panty liner. Most of the books say that an increase in vaginal discharge is normal as long as it is clear and doesn't smell.

FSF - my 7 year old cousin is called Penny, (particularly my mum who said it was just Jenny with a P and accused her sister of copying her) and although we were all a little unsure when the name was first chosen, it really suits her and we all really love it now. Although she is just Penny and not Penelope. When she was born, as she was a surprise, my grandad said, 'Penny's from heaven', which sticks with me. x

LupinsBigLump · 14/01/2007 14:19

thanks it is clear and defo doesnt smell did smell for wee, oh the joys of pregnancy

Pinktrappedwindjenny · 14/01/2007 14:25

I'm panicing today as these pains in my right side are still there. I did mention them to the midwife and she said it was just the ligaments. She is kicking away, so hopefully its just muscular.

Have to admit, jellybeans' terrible loss has completely unnerved me.

LupinsBigLump · 14/01/2007 15:04

My lo seems lively enough - but then so did my dd and she had hardly any fluid but was 5 wks early - I will defo ring mw tomorrow

Try resting for a day and see if that eases the pain in your side, you might be overdoing it

Loss like Jellybeans is still a small percentage, I find it hard to stay positive and imagining that I will have a baby in May still feels unlikely after losing Morgan - but soooooo many more babies are born alive and well, it is easy to think the worse after each twinge and niggle but try not to worry too much - just listen to your body

Frenchsmallfry · 14/01/2007 15:20

Lupins I think you should defo call the midwife. Hopefully it is nothing to worry about, what are the chances of the same thing happening again with the loss of fluid? YKWIM is it more likely? I am pretty wet most of the time, I even get what feels like a sudden rush sometimes when I stand up, you know like when you have a heavy period. It is clear with no smell though. Don't think it's wee, my pelvic floor was very well re-educated here in France after dd and is pretty strong now.

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2007 15:39

Me too, being moist that is. I have to wear a liner every day. I would get checked just to be sure though, it will put your mind at rest.

Im sure the pains are just ligaments stretching, i have a very achy back at the moment but it's my own fault. Bending over to scoop Hugs up, fixing chains on bikes etc... I just took them all for a bike ride to the beach, managed 20 mins before one got chased by a dog (only a puppy fgs) one whinged about her bike, one annonced very loudly that a sign said no cycling and the other kept crashing and weaving all over the place....FFS I bought them all home and have locked the door. Hugs is sleeping on the couch and i am going to make scones. Calm thoughts....calm...calm...

I like Lucien too FSF and i just love Penny! My friend knows someone who had twin girls and called the Penelope and Prudence, ho cute is that?!

A meet in Feb would be great FSF! I will get to see this bump for myself! I would love to take Granny to Asda or anywhere else she fancies. Tell her not to struggle on buses and in taxis (way too expensive) Hugs loves Grannies...he always charms them at the supermarkets You have my email, i will pop in and see her.
