Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

LOVE pate but only brussels variety and it has to be smooth. Its the only thing other than peanuts that i missed at xmas.

SOH - how can you eat black pudding and haggis - truely gross!

Lwatkins · 08/01/2007 14:59

Hello ladies!
Think it is safe to say i'm on freakin cloud nine - i feel like superwoman, ooooo i could be..... Anyway, had my scan this morning and the woman doing it had nothing but positive things to say about my little bean - who ain't so flippin little anymore! The last scan i had was at 6+3 so today was a real flippin shock i can tell you - bean looks like a human baby now, not just a moving dot! Anyhoo evrything is where it should be, beating fine, spine and skull are 'perfect' apparentley....well you know, i did make it (LW's head starts to expand)!!!!!
Oh yes and did i mention it's a GIRL!!! Didn't mind at all what sex bean was but now i know it's a girl it feels more real if that makes any kinda sense! I can refer to her as 'she' instead of 'it' now as well. 'SheBean', yes i like that - very well behaved and is quite the little poser i can tell you. Bearing her bits for all to see, sonographer said 90% sure it's a girl, is this what they usually say?
Hope your all well, LW & SheBean x

Congratulations LWat!

Sugar and spice and everything nice.

Am so

Oh now I can't wait until Wednesday!

aprilmeadow · 08/01/2007 15:16

congrats on your 'shebean' LW.

Creena · 08/01/2007 15:37

Hey, congratulations LWat!! I'm still thinking of finding out surreptitiously so that DH doesn't know. Our scan is on Thursday and I'm quite excited about it - I'd like to find out the flavour but DH doesn't. We'll have to see if I can get the sonographer to write it down for me.....

Frenchsmallfry · 08/01/2007 15:44

Great news on your not so little anymore "shebean" LW

Ok, I have to drag my self to the kitchen to prepare dinner, dh has requested Gordon Ramsays "chicken in a basket", it is very very scrummy, but a bit time consuming to prepare, I'm off to make some breadcrubs.

LupinsBigLump · 08/01/2007 15:44

Lwatkins, glad your scan wenty well and congrats on she bean

My scan went well everything in the right place and right size - unfortunatley the lo had one leg crossed over the other no baby sex to report on, so SOH you probably wont be the last to find out, I am still thinking its a girl

Ewww at fois gras, saw an article on how it was made, sorry am vege due to how most meat is kept/ manufactured in this country

katybumps · 08/01/2007 15:52

congratulations lw on your pink one

off work today, cant walk very well altho they were definately not impressed when i phoned them to let them know

ShowOfHands · 08/01/2007 15:53

Congats Lwatkins on your little shebean! It is lovely to hear them say 'ooh perfect' and 'no problems at all' isn't it? I just lay there thinking 'and I can't even put up a shelf, but look what I've made!'.

Lupins, it's a bugger not knowing but you're getting your 'cute and healthy please' wish which is the most important thing. We just have chaste little babies unlike this exhibitionist lot around us. Was that your last scan?

ShowOfHands · 08/01/2007 15:55

katybumps, bugger 'em. If you're anything like me you'll hate having to phone in sick anyway. I seem to start the conversation 'I am soooo sorry, really I am sorry.' Must be worse if they're not very understanding about it. Would they rather you went in regardless and did yourself a serious mischief?

katybumps · 08/01/2007 16:02

they just like to make me feel guilty. i usually say" i'll try and m,ake it in ,then when iget their 3 other people have phoned in with fookin head ache! so i just said i wasnt coming, end of

LupinsBigLump · 08/01/2007 16:04

SOH, Thanks, no I have another scan at 24 wks, and then they will be either monthly or 2 weekly, so plenty of chances to find out, I should have been more specific in my post "cute and healthy and flashing its bits" lol - can you not book anywhere else to get it done earlier altho half price is pretty good if you can wait

ShowOfHands · 08/01/2007 16:14

Lupins- can't really get anything else as I can only go on a Saturday and as the woman on the phone put it 'this is our busiest time what with everybody having got frisky last summer'.

but she's probably right. We do have a lot of May07 babies, all made in the summer and the receptionist said that people were waiting for the new maternity allowance to kick in too so there has been a mini baby boom.

It's something to look forward to though and the later it is, the clearer the picture too. I'm just impatient.

I assumed you'd have to have plenty of scans on top of the regular ones. It must be very reassuring for you to actually see the healthy little baby on the screen. I'm pleased that everthing is as should be for you.

Katy, I'll say it again. Bugger 'em.

Frenchsmallfry · 08/01/2007 16:17

you ladies should just have made the decision to leave it as a big suprise then you wouldn't be dissapointed that they couldn't see. only joking!

It's only another 19 weeks til I find out. lol ONLY ffs!

See SOH, I told you we'd have an anti Foie Gras person on here!
I understand you Lupins, although I do like it, the standards and legislations are getting much tougher on how it produced over here, the French used to be the biggest culprits but it's harder and harder for them to get away with it now.

Frenchsmallfry · 08/01/2007 16:18

Sorry SOH, It was TYG, god I am stupid, sorry

katybumps · 08/01/2007 16:18

yeah bugger em only 11 weeks to go and then im on maternity leave whoopee

hope its not to busy in may, had my other two in september and the midwifes were rushed off there feet {xmas babies} think id like a bit more attention this time around

Pebblemum · 08/01/2007 16:19

Afternoon ladies

Congrats to all of you who have had scans, and sympathies to SOH for her cancelled one, how dare that woman have her baby early didnt she know how excited you were about the scan Im very of you lot finding out the flavours, im desperately counting down the days to 29th March when I get my next scan but it seems ages away. I have considered sweet talking Dh into paying for a 4d one so i get to find out sooner but as he doesnt want to know what it is i dont hold out much hope of him agreeing

Ds2 went to pre-school today for the first time, ok it was only for an hour and i stayed with him but he thoroughly enjoyed it. I think it helped that his little friend already goes there and she took him under her wing and showed him around. He cant wait to go back tomorrow, again its only for an hour and i will be there but then on Wednesday he goes all on his own for the whole 2.5hrs!! Hes quite a mummy's boy so i hope he will be ok. When ds1 went (all those years ago) he wasnt bothered in the slightest that i left him there, whats the odds of having another one like that

ShowOfHands · 08/01/2007 16:19

Nasty pate has addled your brain methinks.

Frenchsmallfry · 08/01/2007 16:19

pmsl

largeginandtonic · 08/01/2007 16:20

Love pate...mmmmm FSF was torturing me earlier eating it while we chatted. Told you the flap jack was a bit crunchy!

Not a fan of foie gras but do adore black pudding. I always order it as an extra if i go for a fried brekie somewhere.

Lwatkins congrats on your shebean, go to Rachel Riley and look at all the gorgeous dresses you can get for her....awwwwwww

April here's some cake >

Glad all is ok Lupins, norty baby hiding like that! Still it is nice to get a surprise, if yo have to wait that is

FSF whats this chicken thing of Gordon's? We are on sausaages, cheesy yorkshire puddings and broccoli with lashings of gravy. Ive just got it all ready so i can sit here till tea time!!!

Am having a coffee (the cafetierre (sp) kind) so i feel a bit buzzy, dont really drink coffee much any more. Must use this buzz for something constructive

Frenchsmallfry · 08/01/2007 16:22

Did you have a nap with hugs lg&t.

ShowOfHands · 08/01/2007 16:23

Pate comment aimed at Frenchie obviously.

Pebble, I think DH has agreed to the 4D scan to shut me up. I'm a nightmare where surprises are concerned and I stupidly didn't consider that the baby might be shy/awkward/chaste/asleep. Your LOs sound lovely btw, all these stories about your children make me feel more broody than babies do.

ShowOfHands · 08/01/2007 16:25

Right first it was KKs, now flapjack.

WHERE'S MINE????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[hormonal]

largeginandtonic · 08/01/2007 16:26
