Frenchsmallfry · 12/01/2007 21:10

AM, H is much better today thanks, hopefully the basic eating and the medicine is helping, still has the runs but no sickness. Thank god, had sooooooooooooooooo had enough of it.

Dh is also doing good thanks, hoping he will be allowed home tommrow, although he will be delivered to the door by ambulance as he has to travel flat?

JonahB; he has had an opperation on his spine to re-pair two herniated disks and repair errosion of the vertabrea?

Very good bump pebble, I am getting a little jealous of them all now, Where is mine??????????????? I still just look FAT!!

notsolilKel · 12/01/2007 21:16

LG&T your boys are so handsome! Love the 'muscle' pose on the one twin. LOL. Sleep well ladies, I'm outta here for now. Going to say some extra bedtime prayers for all the sweet babies in the world x

MKG · 12/01/2007 21:58

Hey everyone,

I came home on Tuesday to a computer that didn't work, so I don't know how often I'll be able to get on anymore.

Anyway, TV show was excellent, a lot of fun, and I won a 3 month gym membership, so that will great after the baby is born.

Speaking of babies, I had my scan on Wednesday, and to my surprise . ..

It's a BOY!!!! I don't know what I'm going to do with all the penises in the house!

He and I are both doing great, but I can't believe it's a boy!

I don't have to catch on up on everything right now, but I will try to read the rest of the thread at a later date.

OK I just skimmed a little bit, and I just wanted to let you know how nice it is that everyone was wondering where I am.

LupinsBigLump · 12/01/2007 22:17

MGK glad you are ok, well done on gym membership and on your little blue one xx

LupinsBigLump · 12/01/2007 22:20

Bye the way MGK last time our computers stopped working, well the broadband actually was 20-22 weeks ago, hmmm that explains it lol, at least you have already covered that base

MKG · 12/01/2007 22:25

Well I'm not on my computer right now. I'm at my mom's house.
My computer gives me nothing but a white screen when I turn it on. I took it to get fixed today, and a piece isn't connected, and they said that it would be better to buy a new computer than fix it, but I have to fix it because all our home movies, and pictures of ds are on it.

Pebblemum · 12/01/2007 22:49

Welcome back MKG, we missed you Congratulations on your little blue one. Im slowly coming round to the idea of having another boy (even though its not definate yet) Being in a house full of willies isnt much fun at times (esp when all they talk about is football or cars) but I think boys are great and both mine are very loving, another one would just add to the fun (and we dont have to pay for the weddings lol)

LG&T just looked at your pics, the twins hair looks great. I cant get over how alike they are, my best friends growing up were identical twins but by the age of 8 it was easier to distinguish between them but your boys look mirror images of each other. And ds3 is just gorgeous. There is a little boy who used to go to play group with ds2 (hes 4 now) who has curly hair like your ds but his reached his shoulders, he would refuse to have it cut, it was some sort of phobia he had but he looked so cute and angelic, not girly at all. I bet your dh is just jealous he hasnt got hair like that

Has anyone got any tips on how to keep over the bump trousers up. I have just got a lovely pair of jeans from the Littlewoods sale (a bargain at £9) but when i walk i feel them start to fall down. I normally dont buy these but now im getting bigger and my coats arent doing up as well I thought id invest in some to stop me getting too cold. The actual jeans are so comfortable but the crutch ends up hanging down after a while. I have bought the right size and everything but i think my bump needs to be a bit bigger to hold them up properly (and you lot have seen my bump so you know its not that small now)I did think of tucking the band in my bra but that ends up giving me a wedgy which is not a good look, camel hoofs and arse cracks are not a good look for a pregnant woman

LupinsBigLump · 12/01/2007 23:06

Pebble what about trying one of thise bump bands over the top - havent tried one myself but thinkong of getting one - think littlewoods have 3 pk for fiver in the sale

largeginandtonic · 12/01/2007 23:49

Oh MKG...phew so glad you are ok. We have missed you, and i cant believe that you are having a blue one!!! Am in Hope you get your pc back on line soon xxxx

FSF glad A is ok and will be home soon, bout the travelling flat, he's going to be a huge help over the next few weeks Poor you, 3 kiddies it it then, oh well good practise....

Pebble i have ova the bump jeans from last prg, they never stayed up and drove me crazy. The bump bands might work, just get good ones with lots of elastic in them. I got a freebie one that is rubbish.

Am off to bed now, knackered. Good night

Janw · 13/01/2007 09:15

Hello all, I just joined this thread and trying to catch up on all the msgs but I think it`s going to take longer time than I've got right now. Anyway Hi to all again, it's quite difficult to get to try to know all. xxx

largeginandtonic · 13/01/2007 10:00

Hello Jan, dont worry about catching up. You will be here forever! Just dip in and out, we dont mind at all

Morning all, the twins have just gone out with their dad, wont see them till 4.30ish. This means i only have 3 today...it's a doddle! Im going to take them to the the shop to get a paper and then watch sat kitchen, if i dont get hounded too much. I think we might do McDonalds for lunch, they never get to go, and since xmas i have been stuffing them with veges and fruit cos they all looked so dredful. The toy is scooby doo and they love it, i then plan to come home and do some baking Scones today..mmmmmm

When is sat kitchen on? Must check, byeeeee

drkgpink · 13/01/2007 10:08

Just came on to catch up and really upset to see jellybeans news. my thoughts are with you and your family. MY friend lost twins in october at 20 weeks and i know words can't begin to help how you're feeling. lots of love.

LupinsBigLump · 13/01/2007 10:43

Morning All

I have had a message from Jellybeans - she would like to thanks you all for you messages of support and kindness

Frenchsmallfry · 13/01/2007 11:43

Morning, sooo glad to see all is good with your blue one MKG, and we are going to miss you on here so frequently so hope you get that comp fixed soon.

dh on his way home, yeah, should be here in about half hour now, yes lg&t will get me some practise in looking after 3. Have a feeling the third is going to be more demanding though. lol

My scan is on Monday, looking forward to it ut also nervous to see all is ok.

largeginandtonic · 13/01/2007 11:50

Im still here, not been to the shop yet. May just go to mc d's and get a paper on the way. Hugs has flaked in the couch and been a whingy bugger all morning so dont want to wake his grumpy pants up!

Have been on the littlewoods site, v nice stuff on there, have ordered the dusky pink dress in the sale for £13 for the cocktail party in feb, fingers crossed it is ok.

FSF glad dh is on the way home, am sure he will be more demanding to look after than M and H. Can he get up and use the toilet? Ewwwwww...poor you if he cant

Any orders for mc d's when i go?

katybumps · 13/01/2007 11:56

chicken sandwich, fries and a strawberry milkshake please lg&T oh and can i have some barbecue and sweet n sour sauce ta very much

Frenchsmallfry · 13/01/2007 12:03

Fillet o Fish, fries and a diet coke please. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

yes he can get up and about, he was walking yesterday, met us at the front door to the hospital, I think it is just the possible trauma to sitting in a car for two hours bouncing around that could be a problem. It is the bottom discs and vertabrea so I suppose there could be some pressure on it from sitting too long.

Creena · 13/01/2007 12:03

Jess - so sorry to hear that you're not well. You really do sound poorly. Don't forget that you can always come here to vent or talk about what's going on - that's what we're here for! I hope you've just got some kind of bug that will go after a couple of days. If you do have to go to hospital, at least being on an IV will get some fluid into you and this should relieve your nasty headaches and make you feel a little better generally. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!

MKG - good to see you back! We were started to worry about you, you know! Congrats on your scan news - aaaaah, a little boy. Little boy are so gorgeous and loving.

Talking of gorgeous boys, what lovely pics LG&T! Your little fella is so adorable with his beautiful curls and cute face.

JANW - hello and welcome! Don't worry about catching up. There've been times when I've been away for a day or so and have struggled to read through the ginormous thread we've created - we're a chatty bunch, see!

FSF - glad to hear that things seem to improving for your LOs and DH. Wishing them all a speedy recovery.

Pebble - to be honest, I always struggle to keep maternity trousers up (and not for any saucy reasons either)! I've tried both over the bump and under the bump and they both end up sliding down towards my knees as soon as I try to walk. As for going up stairs, forget it! The only thing I would say is that the over the bump ones do get better at staying up as your bump gets bigger - they've got more to 'anchor' on, I suppose! The only other thing I can think of is trying some trousers with the adjustable waistband thing - at least then you can alter the waistband to fit you a little better. I think Mamas and Pappas jeans have this feature (I'm not sure, but they might) although I imagine that they're a bit on the pricey side.

Lupins - thanks so much for passing on Jellybean's message. We are all so sorry and sad for her and thinking of both her and her family.

I've got a little question I'd like to ask but am afraid that it might be TMI so if you are of a sensitive disposition, you may wish to look away now!! Basically, DH and I attempted to 'get jiggy widdit' last night but I found it a little painful. I was ok until DH penetrated fully, IYSWIM, and then it started to hurt both externally and internally. We had to stop in the end. I've never experienced this before and have been thinking about what could be causing it. Could it be thrush, do you think? I haven't had thrush before but I understand that it can be quite common during pregnancy. I do have a little discharge but no itching, though. I'm also wondering how to treat it. I've read on a couple of sites this morning that you can't take the canestan tablet in pregnancy but you can use the cream. Does anyone else know about this? Should I also ask DH to use the cream as well, just in case, or will it be a waste of time on him as he has different apparatus?! Sorry to go on - I just want to make sure that I'm doing the right thing.

Frenchsmallfry · 13/01/2007 12:04

Or shall I have a big Mac? ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Oh sod it I'll have one of each please. fat pig, but hey!

toomanyprojects · 13/01/2007 12:05

Hi Janw,

I'm new on the group too - it's my third pregnancy so wanted to give you some info ref classes in reply to your post.

I did both NCT and NHS plus hospital visit classes. The NHS classes was 3 sessions and was huge - maybe 20 couples - the advice given was really practical though - you just didn't get much time to socialise.
The NCT classes (7 or 8 weeks) were less rushed with more emphasis on choice and options and also more time to work in groups and get to know each other. Most recommendations for the NCT classes are for the social side, though you don't always gel with your group - funnily enough I got to know more people through the NHS ones and the health visitor run seesions postnatally. I remember my DH was not particluarly impressed at being dragged along to practise relaxation techniques when Euro 2000 was on. I wasn't put off the NCT itself by the class not gelling as well as some others I know (where Mums are still meeting up with their 7yr olds and younger children) and went on to get very involved with my local branch - in itself a great way to get to know people. I know some people consider the classes expensive - our branch charges just over £100 I think (low for the area) but having seen behind the scenes, no one makes a huge profit - most goes into the training of the teachers (who have a university recognised qualification) and venue hire, teaching materials, etc as well as paying the teacher. Also as the NCT is a charity and is trying to shed its middle class image, the fees are only a guideline in as much as you can ask for them to be reduced to an amount manageable for you. Please pass this message on to any other mums you know as the NCT is aware that a lot of people are put off by this. I can remember myself commenting on it in 2000!

Anyway, NCT plug over and welcome to the group!

Creena · 13/01/2007 12:08

Also, thanks LG&T - I didn't know that Littlewoods did maternity sale and am delighted to hear they've got a sale on. I'm rushing to their site right now!!!

notsolilKel · 13/01/2007 12:25

Hi Creena - regarding your BD difficulties - I'd phone NHS direct and ask them what they advise. As it's a weekend I guess you can't see a doctor. IMO best to check with someone medical whenever you get pains in pg, just to be sure you're doing the right thing. I know you def can't take canesten tablet while pg because I was going to 5mo ago, saw the warning on the box, took a pg test, and Voila! That's how I found out I was pg! Good luck w/ it all!

Creena · 13/01/2007 12:28

Thanks, Kel - good to know that the tablet is a no-no. I might have a word with the pharmacist at my local chemist or maybe wait until Monday to speak to NHS Direct or my midwife - DS has a friend over to stay and it might be a bit tricky trying to talk about this over the phone while they're about!! Thanks for your advice.
