OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
tokentotty · 28/02/2007 16:05

See now, I think the person you describe H, sounds like he could quite definitely carry off the name Errol !! As a rule though, I think most mere mortals would struggle...

Lovely presents ! Well done your DH definitely. Am loving your friend's DD still being Peanut

stretchmarks · 28/02/2007 16:05

ooh I've missed a busy afternoon here.

Happy Birthday Hersetta.

Pink LOL at your dh and his names.

We had Lily Alice for a girl after our nan's. However I am now not sure about Lily and when we asked a friend on the weekend if they had thought of names he said they did think of Lily but then he said it reminded him of a scarlet woman - dirty lil kind of thing and has put me off a bit

tokentotty · 28/02/2007 16:06

Hey PR, am laughing (yup again !!) just trying to imagine how any baby/toddler could look like an Errol....

conkertree · 28/02/2007 16:08

gosh you turn your back for an hour or two...

hersetta what a rubbish time your DH is having. hope tomorrow goes as well as it can do.

i like matthew too - had been trying to avoid family names if possible so the baby has totally its own first name, (and we will use the middle name to name them after somebody) but thomas, matthew and robert are three of my favourites and all family names. i like ewan, calumn (not actually sure how to spell it), michael (another family one) but none of them are out in front as a favourite. dh wants to name it harrison - but really only cause of harrison ford in star wars.

conkertree · 28/02/2007 16:09

oh and happy birthday hersetta

pinkranger · 28/02/2007 16:10

Hi strech - good to see you xx

I am off for a while to sought out all my clothes and put away want dont fit no more ( which is most of it!!)!

have a good afternoon ladies xx

H - Good old dh with the presnets , i have a radley handbag and love it , dropped hints for the purse a xmas but not yet but hey Mothers day is soon xxxx

conkertree · 28/02/2007 16:21

we've been calling the bump 'the raspberry' since the week we read it was the size of a raspberry (which must have been a while ago now), and thats stuck a wee bit.

purplerabbits ds was called agamemnon (while a bump i hasten to add) - which they got from a baby name book when picking his real name. its the name of a greek god apparently, so for this bump they were looking for another greek god, and came across nud - which is what they're calling this one. cant help feeling as if poor little nud's come off slightly unfairly on the name front - her ds's little dog is now called agamemnon so guess this ones first animal will be given the honour of being called nud - lucky them.

washingqueen · 28/02/2007 16:23

Sorry about that, I had to dash off to make a casserole - should have started it much earlier. DS and DH will just have to wait for dinner tonight...

Hmmm, in answer to the baby name question..I never had one (although I remember mum repeatedly calling me 'BIFFA' when I was 13)it was only my 2 younger sisters who got them for some reason

washingqueen · 28/02/2007 16:25

DH has also suggested names such as Warwick, Errol, Humphrey, Hugo....NB. these are usually after an evening in the pub with his mates

tokentotty · 28/02/2007 16:27

eh ??? Another Errol fan ?? And he said Warwick too ?

Is something going on here that no-one's told me about ?

washingqueen · 28/02/2007 16:28

Maybe they all read the same books/watch same tv shows?

tokentotty · 28/02/2007 16:28

Oh and Washing....not entirely sure I believe you on this one...

washingqueen · 28/02/2007 16:29

Someone who I worked with when pregnant with DS1 suggested 'Hercules'...now that is a name for a baby/toddler to live up to

tokentotty · 28/02/2007 16:29

Is there an Errol Flynn season occurring on TCM that I've missed ??

(ps, meant I wasn't sure I believed you about your not having a baby name Washing)

washingqueen · 28/02/2007 16:30

Why would I admit to being called biffa...if I wasn't telling the truth?

tokentotty · 28/02/2007 16:34

Sorry Washing, you know what, I completely misread that and mixed it with another post!! My brain is mush lately. Has anyone else noticed a distinct difference ?

washingqueen · 28/02/2007 16:36

My brain has always been mushy

tokentotty · 28/02/2007 16:45

Well there is that about me too, but I'm definitely worse than ever. People are kindly very quick to point this out to me and laugh a lot....

Hersetta · 28/02/2007 16:49

You're not the only one. My DH has said I've turned positively stupid since I've been pregnant. I only hope to God that all my brain power is beling diverted to the baby as I certainly don't seem to be using it at the moment.

conkertree · 28/02/2007 16:50

yup i have a mushy brain too - keep looking for things and not seeing them, then asking dh where they are and it turns out they were right where i was looking - dont understand it.

dh got to choose his little brothers name - he is neil, he chose iain - he thinks he was probably just saying neil but not quite saying it right. so iain got to choose the next brothers name - he chose kermit .

GillL · 28/02/2007 16:51

It's my memory that's suffered since I was first pg (the first time). I have to write everything down and set reminders in Outlook so I don't forget anything.

I really like the name Daniel but my bil, cousin and friend's son are all called Daniel so I feel I can't really use it.

Will catch up tomorrow. Off home soon.

GillL · 28/02/2007 16:52

Quick last message. Lol conkertree. My nephew said I should call dd Toilet Rug! He was 3 at the time.

tokentotty · 28/02/2007 16:55

Ok, just really laughed out loud at Kermit !! That's a lovely story. Getting more strange looks than normal for my loud laugher. Ah well, not sure they expect much else from me at the moment.

Seeing a girlfriend tonight for dinner and have to tell her that I can't go on her hen weekend.... Not sure a weekend in Edinburgh will be that much of a good idea the week after my baby's due !!! I know I'll be busy with something far more wonderful obviously but is a shame, always said I couldn't wait for it.

tokentotty · 28/02/2007 16:58

Toilet rug.....!!!

Mrsshuvel · 28/02/2007 17:14

Kermit, Toilet Rug hahahaha Fantastic! My family are all waiting for me to come up with something inventive as my dogs are called Macaroni Pumbaa and Lucinda Timone. I think they are waiting for Rafiki or something else Lion King related. Although DP is massive Frank Zappa fan (not sure if anyone's heard of him). He called his kids some weird names such as Moon Unit, Suzie Creamcheese, Dweezel and Diva. My mum has totally forbidden him from following in Frank's footsteps although we did consider Thomas Zappa for all of 5 seconds
