stretchmarks · 16/02/2007 12:30

conkertree - it sounds like you are feeling the first movements. I felt this one at 14 weeks as this is my 2nd pregnancy. I felt the first pregnancy at 16/17 weeks. It is strange but this one feels different to DS1 much more definate movement - DS1 was more delicate flutterings if that makes sense.

Brace yourselves for the excitement of my weekend folks. Tomorrow is ok as we are out for dinner for a friends Birthday tomorrow night. Then sunday DH is planning a day out at RAF Cosford to take DS to see the planes - not my idea of a fab day out but there you go they've got a cafe so at least I can carry on eating regularly !!!!!!

peanuthead · 16/02/2007 12:31

Yeah, not sure where I got peanuthead from - suspect a particularly juvenile episode of southpark lodged in my subconscious...

I thought you could fly up to 34 weeks with a doctors note? I'll look into it properly - there's every chance I won;t feel like gallumphing around in 90 degree heat anyway but right now I.m determined to go..

peanuthead · 16/02/2007 12:34

wow, this thread moves fast - every time i post theres another few got in there first!

I can't wait to feel movement too - sure we won't be saying that when it's keeping us awake all night...

I suppose if you're slim and know what to look for then 14 weeks odd is not too early?

tokentotty · 16/02/2007 12:38

Well I'm definitely not gonna forget your name !

You're right about flying up until 34 weeks though with just a letter, but when I called Virgin about travelling they seemed really strict and that I'd have to prove I'd be flying back before the appropriate dates etc

Am really excited that there are 3 of us at least feeling something so am really hopeful the rest of us will soon. Let us know how it feels for all so perhaps we can have a better idea of what to expect/look for.

stretchmarks · 16/02/2007 12:43

Peanuthead - not slim beleive me but it is my second and I did feel my first quite early - wasn't slim then either lol

I remember the first time I felt DS1 I was sitting in a rather boring meeting and thought I'd got butterflies and couldn't understand why I was nervous took me a while to clikc that it was DS1 I think i'd given him a bit of energy from my coffee and biscuits that day !!!

It does feel a bit like wind / butterflies a kind of gurgling etc - most people feel thier first movements from about 17 weeks onwards.

pinkranger · 16/02/2007 12:48

this is my second, i could see the movement in the bath with my first BEFORE i felt anything ( i think i was about 15-16 weeks)

Agree with eveyone about wanting to feel good proper movement , and then in 3 months time we will all be saying on how much we get kicked to death!

Not exciting weekend for me, working sat (5.30am start) then sat afternoon sleep on sofa - SIL and partner coming over sunday for dinner but doin the jamie Spag bal ( very nice0 and you are able to do it the day before and out in th fridge ( do that when DS goes to bed sat night!)

This thread is really movig now

lizziemun · 16/02/2007 13:31

Is anyone else having super human sense of smell or is it just me. I had this with my 1st pg but no where near as bad as this.

I can't even stand the smell of buttered toast. Everything just stinks, i cook dinner/lunch and as soon as it starts cooking i can't stand the smell and i have to force myself to eat it.

conkertree · 16/02/2007 13:50

i had that pretty much the whole way through from about 6 weeks to maybe three or four weeks ago (am 16 weeks now). but it seems to have mostly calmed down now so hopefully will for you too. was such a relief to be able to enjoy food again.

one thing though - the smell of a candle we had in our house at christmas, and also just seeing things to do with christmas makes both purplerabbit and me want to be sick. i really really hope that goes before next year cause christmas used to be one of my favourite times of year, and now i just hate the thought of it.

GillL · 16/02/2007 14:05

We'll be complaining when they're kicking and then worried when they're not. Pregnancy is such fun!

tokentotty · 16/02/2007 15:35

You're so right GillL. I know that the minute I mention in front of DH that it's started he'll be asking me constantly about Peanut moving so I'll have him driving me nuts about frequency of kicks etc.

BTW Conkertree - well done you on the stats thread. Don't be apologising for doing a damn fine job of organising us all !!

Hersetta · 16/02/2007 17:32

Hi TT,

back from my nuchal - my results were good risks down from 1 in 157 based on my age alone to 1 in 1587 so sounds good. My bloods were excellent - if the test was based on bloods alone my risk was 1 in 4800. By the way we had the same man as you had.

Only disppointment was we didn't get any usable photos. Visability was poor today for some reason (was ok on wednesday when I had my NHS dating scan - he even tried both abdominal and vaginal and both were pretty poor). The ones we got even I can't make out a baby so can't show those off to anyone ! Bit off a shame as I was looking forward to showing them to my Mum when I go to visit her in Spain next weekend.

Ho hum

peanuthead · 16/02/2007 17:36

I've already asked this on another thread but may as well ask again - when did yr ms stop? I'm right at the end of august so the rest of you will be further ahead than me.

Was so thrilled by my healthy scan and now I just want to be able to enjoy my pregnancy.

I'm going on holiday week 15/16 and am dreading still feeling like this..

lizziemun - I can't cook anything - i'm still living on toast and snacks. If dh cooks I can sometimes eat (though his cooking is a bit odd - he made bright red mashed potatoes yesterday) but cooking smells still get me. and we're in a one bed flat and they really really hang about the place - got a permanent scented candle on the go.

stretchmarks · 16/02/2007 19:35

HI Peanuthead, I haven't been sick since 13 weeks and the nausea has gone although for some reason I can set myself off heaving when brushing my teeth in the morning sorry if tmi.

tokentotty · 17/02/2007 09:01

Hey Hersetta that's such a shame about your pictures, am disappointed for you. Still, sounds like you can't say they didn't try.... Did you find the guy who did it nice ? Don't know about you but I found it a bit heartstopping at first when they showed me the original risk as I thought that was my number with everything already factored in, so like you, I had a tremendous sense of relief when he went through adding all the other results in and the number shot up.

I'm off to Spain as well next weekend ! My friend 12yeargap who hijacked this thread looking for me the other day is heading out tomorrow and I'm soooooo jealous. Have been sending her the details of our place all week and it's got me really excited too so can't wait 'til next Sat when we swap over. Whereabouts does your Mum live ?

Hersetta · 17/02/2007 12:18

Hi TT,

Yes it was a bit heart-stopping. When he gave me the final number, I burst into tears and Daniele looked a bit disturbed - like he though that I though that was bad IFKWIM. My DH has to explain they were happy tears. Also glad you warned me about the blood flow tests as one of the readings was bad, but the rest were good so Daniele wasn't worried.

My Mum lives in a small village called El Agar - about 20k from Murcia airport. She's been emailing me every day saying the weather is really good (25 degrees) so am looking forward to it. Am taking a friend, not DH as he can't get away next weekend so we're having a girly weekend.

Where are you off to? We go next Saturday as well - from Stansted.

tokentotty · 17/02/2007 17:24

H, you're not gonna believe this but.....am flying out of Stansted to Murcia !! Think am on the 7.20am ish flight (around that time anyway). We're just outside Los Alcazares so also only about 15 minutes from the airport. Am definitely going to call my friend who's going tomorrow to tell her about the weather there as her daughter is very keen to get out in her new tankini !!

Am unfortunately only going for four days to take the PIL for a treat but as far as I'm concerned at the moment, any time away there is wonderful.

CPT · 17/02/2007 17:56

Hello Ladies May I join you. I'm 12+3 today and due on 29.08. I have one DS who is 16mths. Had nuchal scan and bloods last week and all is well. I loved the message boards when peg with DS so will look forward to chats!

boobooma · 17/02/2007 20:14

Welcome to CPT. TT and Hersetta, am feeling pretty envious about your jollying off to the sun, so checked list and as I guessed you are both on first child, haven't blown all your money on baby kit and childcare yet. Good for you. One day, we will again be free to jolly off, in the meantime, I'm going down for a walk on the beach in the morning.

peanuthead · 17/02/2007 20:18

Tokentotty and hersetta - ooh I'm envious. We were supposed to be visiting my friend who's in Denia - near Murcia too I think - in a couple of weeks but no cheap flights. It's the first time in a couple of years I've felt up to seeing her as she's got two little ones and we had fertility problems so - in an incredibly mature fashion - I hid from all my friends with bubs... now i'm finally pg feel too ill to see any of them!

Hoping to get out there in April - so desperate for some sun.

I've had the shittest of shit weekends so far - ms has been the worst it's ever been -is that possible coming up to second tri?? have just been stuck in bed watching the birds and squirrels out of the window - ALL DAY - and weeping in a sorry-for-myself way every so often. I'm panicking it's going to get worse in second tri.

Can't even stomach haribo sours...

peanuthead · 17/02/2007 20:20

boobama
and i'm even more envious that you have a beach close enough to walk on... bloody london, hate it.

Hersetta · 17/02/2007 23:59

TT,

OMG we're on the same flight !!!

How spooky! Let meknow if you want to meet at Stansted for a decaf coffee!!

I'm only going for 2 days - coming back Monday evening but am back again for 4 days at Easter.

Hersetta · 18/02/2007 00:04

FOrgot to say, we have to drive through Los Alcazares to get to my Mums and we often go there for dinner and to go to the beach.

Beakyman · 18/02/2007 19:37

Just wondering...... is there anyone else out there who just feels ill in pregnancy?

I know ms and huge tiredness is pretty normal, but I also have headaches, dizziness, nose bleeds and just generally feel ill. I also feel mildly depressed, but whether that is part of the ill bit or results from feeling ill for so long, I don't know!

I was exactly the same with first pg. It's worst in first trimester, but to be honest, never completely goes. At 16 weeks today I don't feel great at all.

Any one else?!

peanuthead · 18/02/2007 19:51

cheer me up beakyman, why don't you!!! I'm 13 weeks today (pregnancy no 1 )and feel like utter shit and keep telling myself - will bloom soon - but have a suspicion I'll agree with you.

I've got constant headaches and sinusitis too - and hayfever season (unmedicated this year - eek) hasn't even started. I'm more than happy to share lots of moans about feeling rubbish here as I'm starting to think it's not going to be stopping for a while and I'm not very good with dealing with it...

tokentotty · 19/02/2007 10:39

Poor you two Peanut and Beaky, that's dreadful feeling so rubbish all the time. Big fingers crossed for you two that there'll be marvellous transformations any time and you'll feel great !! I have to say that am finding it rather annoying everytime I hear another person say, "Oh I just LOVED being pregnant, it was absolutely WONDERFUL. I enjoyed every second"

Tokentotty: F*ck off.

I'm really lucky that I don't feel as sick as I did but I can't say I'm feeling great at all.
