welcome swetty darling , im due on the 22nd and not looking forward to the hot august! i am also bridesmaid in the end of june and just hoping that it is not hot!!

how is everyone else x

pinkranger · 15/02/2007 13:16

loulee -Must be them winter nights drawing in

Loulee · 15/02/2007 13:40

yeah winter nights!
ilovebabies - lovely round there - went to a friends wedding out there a few years ago - gorgeous countryside - lucky you.
life ok, though very hectic - and we have family up for a weekend up north - can't wait, but am VERY disorganised and dd's have just thrown cornflakes all over the floor!

GillL · 15/02/2007 14:18

Welcome SweetyDarling. Hope you're feeling well. I'm also dreading being pregnant through the hottest part of the summer. Although I had been thinking that if the baby was born earlier I would just spend the whole time worrying that he/she was too hot.

We didn't do Valentines Day this year either due to lack of money. I can never think of anything to get dh anyway.

Conkertree - I've been having some funny dreams lately. Last night I dreamt we went in to Mothercare and I bought a bucket. When I came out I realised that I had bought the wrong one so I went back to swap it and still brought out the same one as I got originally. Not sure what that means. I also dreamt a while ago that I had a baby boy and, for some reason, he stayed with my mum for the first few days so I only met him when he was a few days old although he did look several months old. My mum also insisted I called him Patrick.

GillL · 15/02/2007 14:21

I was supposed to be a bridesmaid at my sister's wedding on 4th August but I decided against it considering it is only 2 weeks before my due date. I also didn't want to look like I was wearing the marquee. Anyone know any good places to get a maternity wedding outfit at a reasonable price? I don't really want to spend much considering I will never wear it again.

Loulee · 15/02/2007 14:32

Don't know where to get a wedding outfit either Giil - we're going to one in April - with a medieval theme! - don't know if i want to enter into the medieval spirit.....
so any wedding ideas really appreciated!

pinkranger · 15/02/2007 16:43

i was going to back out of being bridesmaid but my sister in law has everything arrange, correct numbers of bridesmaids, differnt shades of pink etc , little bit Jorden and peter i think but should be good fun.

i was lokking in the next maternity book the other night and they had some nice bits more then in the shops, may be worth a look, i also have a really nice shop near me call pregerliscous (sp) and they do some differn bit so if any of you are in kent .....

GillL · 15/02/2007 16:55

I'm in Gravesend in Kent (near Dartford). Is it anywhere near there?

pinkranger · 15/02/2007 16:58

its in maidstone, no where near a big shop a little bit pricey, but not to bad , lots of stuff in ther from fumum.com.

You can also sell it after the wedding, also H&M have some nice stuff coming in for the summer.

I used to live in Swanley not that far from you really

have we started a new thread yet ?? i will start a stats thread but cant do links!!

stretchmarks · 15/02/2007 17:05

I don't think I am going to be a bridesmaid anymore for my friend as the wedding is 10 days before my due date !!!!! Their wedding was booked in April which wuld have been 2 weeks after my previous due date which I mc but they had to postpone as the bride to be fell pregnant. When we were trying to get pregnant again and they had moved the wedding to August I just knew I was going to fall pregnant when I did and be unable to be the bridesmaid

Still we have 3 weddings to attend this year so I have been on the look out for a new dress. There are some websites where you can hire dressess but they tend to charge from £20-£40 and you can buy some nice outfits for £40-£60 I divided the cost by 3 wedings to justify it to DH and you can always ebay it after. Now shoes and bags can be used all the time so that's a different matter I just tend to whisper how much they cost me - [dreamy face - remembering the new Radley bag seen this week]

Is anyone else eating for England today or is it just me - can't stop snacking........

update for the stats x

pinkranger · 15/02/2007 17:07

same here strech - all i ever want to eat at the moment is cards and cheese so we have got jacket pots , beans sweetcorn and cheese for dinner!!!!! yummmmm

Loulee · 15/02/2007 20:09

Pinkranger, here's the new stats thread you set up here

Do you mean us all to fill in again? Doh, i guess so..will do it now!

pinkranger · 16/02/2007 08:52

thanks loulee, i know that there are some people on this thread who are sadley not here anymore ..xxx

conkertree · 16/02/2007 09:11

yup i am eating for four or five definately. Usually not too unhealthily, but there is a fair amount of chocloate sneaking in there.

So glad its nearly the weekend. Anybody doing anything exciting?

tokentotty · 16/02/2007 09:55

Erm....nothing.

Hope someone else is doing something great that I can live through vicariously !

conkertree · 16/02/2007 12:03

ooh think i might have just felt some miniature kicking - wondered yesterday cause it definately didnt feel like wind - more like a sort of buzzing feeling. but thought it might not be, but have just felt the same thing again just now - so maybe it was. any of the more experienced mothers think that sounds like feeling it kick?

tokentotty · 16/02/2007 12:06

Oooh, oooh, ooh really ??? How exciting for you !!! . Tell us more !

conkertree · 16/02/2007 12:11

Well i dont want to get ahead of myself if its not really that, but thats why i didnt get excited yesterday - and now its exactly the same sort of feeling today. like a buzz for quite a few seconds, then a break and sometimes another one. happened on and off for a couple of mins yesterday and again today. definately doesnt feel like anything else - the only thing that made me think it might not be was the buzz seemed to go on for quite a few seconds at a time. I guess it will only get more often or more obvious as time goes on if it is really kicks so until i know otherwise, think i will assume it is.

GillL · 16/02/2007 12:11

Thanks pinkranger. Funmum.com is great. Prices aren't too bad. Probably best to go to the shops though so I can try things on. Being so short (5' 2") makes it difficult to buy dresses and trousers.

I think I'm eating less than I was before I was pg but I am still feeling nauseous most of the time. Can't wait for that to end. I only really want savoury things apart from yoghurts. I'm trying to eat healthily and not put too much weight on but it's hard when I have to eat every hour or so just to keep my energy levels up.

Not doing much this weekend. It's DH's birthday tomorrow and my mum is doing a dinner for him but he'll be doing diy most of the day so it won't be the best birthday he's ever had. Serves him right though for waiting this long to decorate dd's bedroom.

GillL · 16/02/2007 12:13

I keep thinking I'm feeling movements but I'm only 13+5 so I don't know if that's possible. Although they say you can feel the movements earlier on your second pg.

peanuthead · 16/02/2007 12:13

Hello
Can I rejoin you - I joined back in the mists of time at 6 weeks or so then got felled by a mix of ms and fear. Had my scan yesterday, now 12+5 so I'm ready to make a come back!

I'll put my stats on the stats page -

can i ask how everyone elses ms is? I'm soo desperate for it to end - not as floored by it as I was a few weeks ago but still knwckered and sick.

Re weddings - I've got a family one in tuscany when I'm 34 weeks and I'm damn sure I'm going to it! Might change my mind nearer the time but nice frocks have been on my mind too - glad we can all swap ideas.

All I want is carbs and cheese too - I suppose thats what we need - protein and energy? Although totally off meat and I'm a huge (veggie for 12 years) meat eater. I've shocked myself at my intake of unhealthy food...

tokentotty · 16/02/2007 12:26

sorry Peanuthead but am giggling at your name as all in my life know my bump as 'Peanut' and think it'll stick even when it finally arrives !!

Anyway, welcome back. Sorry to hear you felt so poorly with MS. Am realising how lucky I've been now as although I felt nauseous a lot I was never actually sick. Apart from catching the bl**dy sickness epidemic that's going round London which made me feel even more grateful that I hadn't been bad all though.

Are you allowed to fly at 34 weeks ?? I was told that I only could in an absolute emergency (family funeral etc) and had to have my own obstetrician travelling with me!!

pinkranger · 16/02/2007 12:27

welcome back peanut head x

Keep wondering weather im feeling things , have a slight "fluttering feling' that will last a couple of seconds then go!

you can see movement ( not sure this early on) in the bath, lay really still and watch the bath water move around your belly ,did this all the time with DS

tokentotty · 16/02/2007 12:29

Hey Pinkranger, is that even in your first you can see the movement like that in the bath ?? Am so excited about getting home now and having one if so. Am jealous completely of those feeling/seeing something.
