Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lizziemun · 07/02/2007 16:08

Still haven't got scan date through yet am now getting fed up. Am seeing the midwife on friday for bloods and will ask her to chase up scan date if i have not heard anything by then.

One good thing it's going to be interesting and long time as dd who is 3 told me i could have one of her sweets as i am fat, which is why i want mt scan as i have pg looking tummy already.

I just want to know whether i am 11 weeks or 16 weeks.

loler · 07/02/2007 16:26

I've not been on for a bit as got into a tizzy over my scan - which I had today. Everything looks good and I'm not just fat there is a really wriggly baby in there too! EDD matches my date of 28 August.

Now getting worried about telling work - been there 5 years and already had nearly 2 years maternity leave!

Loulee · 07/02/2007 21:03

Hi all, At last i can be one of those writing - ~I've had the scan and it all went well - we are delighted and have told dd's who are very excited (well mainly dd1, dd2 just says 'ababy' baby'!)

oh and my due date has changed - I am 15+3 and due on 29th July which seems about right. - and because I'm having a section, know it will either be born on Friday 20th July or Monday 23rd. How strange is that!

Lizziemun, really sorry to hear about your Dad, it's really tough. Did they diagnose exactly what it was?

lizziemun · 07/02/2007 22:09

No diagnosis as yet we have another week to wait the test take 2 weeks, although he has had this for at 2 years i can't help thinking it's going to be to late. But we are being positive.

GillL · 08/02/2007 14:40

Hi. Had my scan this morning and all is well. Got a couple of good pictures at the extortionate price of £4 each (going up to £5 in April). Was really pleased to see the heartbeat and the lo moving.

Glad I can finally tell people at work.

Stevie74 - I had my booking in appointment at 9 weeks but I've heard a lot of others say they haven't head theirs until after the dating scan. I think you only need to be worried if there is any family history of problems like diabetes, heart disease etc. Your midwife may then refer you to a consultant for some of your appointments. I had to arrange my own appointment. Try phoning the docs to see if you can make one.

Uki · 09/02/2007 09:26

Hi All
Who's up for a little fun-in terms of an "old wives tale gender prediction quiz"
there all here.
Mine said 80% girl 20% boy

have a gohere

Loulee · 09/02/2007 11:17

That was fun!! so it says 83% girl - I have 2 already and a 3rd would be lovely. - but if it's a boy i won't complain!

conkertree · 09/02/2007 11:28

ooh i'm 42% boy 57% girl which doesnt even add up to 100% - wonder what the other 1% is .

Purplerabbits ds (2) thought we were having a boy and she was having a girl till this week, but now he's decided we are both having girls. but most of all when you ask what sort of baby his auntie is having he says "a big baby" so thats something to look forward to!

myweegirl · 09/02/2007 12:16

hmmm - i was 56% girl and 43% boy (don't know what the 1% is though...). According to the chinese gender predication website it's a girl I'm having.

\link{http://www.thelaboroflove.com/chart/}

kiteflying · 09/02/2007 12:48

I have a 73 per cent chance of having a girl according to this, although being only eleven weeks I couldn't really answer the ones about carrying high or low, or what shape my belly is - it just looks fat!

Well I will be thrilled if this comes true but as an IVF baby, I think the chances of a boy are a bit higher than 26 per cent!!

Fun though. I had not thought about any of these things before.

loler · 09/02/2007 14:13

Mine's 66% girl 33% boy - I don't really care but I've given all my girls clothes away so would be cheaper to have a boy (but a girl would be a nice excuse to go shopping!)

Doe's IVF give higher chances of boys? I'd not heard that - of friends who have had IVF it seems to be evenly split - Have got friend pg with IVF twins due in June so that could give a slant - will be interesting to see!

redtent · 09/02/2007 15:41

69% girl here... in fact most gender predictors say girl.

The only one that has been right for both boys is this one-
genderchart

feeling sick still here on and off and very tired and the spatone seems to be helping but I still can't kick the cold!! grrrrrr

starting to feel more movements now- at least more specific ones... tho I still pannic if I haven't noticed any for 24 hours!

anyway been looking at mama pads (san pro) as have a bit of a leak issue on sneezing the nicest ones I have found are in the USA sigh so will have to stalk Hyena cart I think.... hoping I can get some for post partum anyway!

Can antone believe it- 16 weeks almost!! where is the time going???

bresha · 09/02/2007 15:51

i have a 91% chance of having a boy.
And a 8% chance of having a girl.
i didn?t answer all the questions so maybe that?s were the 1% went
We have 2 girls already so it would be nice to have a boy but it would cost us a fortune, we have everything pink
How is every one? I think I am getting over the MS now. Not been sick for a week, been feeling better now I am in the second trimester
GillL , loulee glad your scans went well!
Well the hole world knows now, thanks 2 my dd1
Am I the only one who is going to start thinking about maternity clothes already?
I m fine till I try and sit down

loler · 09/02/2007 15:56

That site got both of mine right - this time it says girl.

GillL · 09/02/2007 16:07

Thanks loler. We actually showed the scan picture to dd (22 months) yesterday and told her that it was the baby in mummy's tummy - which she thinks is hilarious. Once I get more of a bump and she can feel the kicks I'm sure it will mean more to her but we've been reading books to her about waiting for the baby and when the baby comes along.

I have been contemplating getting my maternity clothes down from the loft but at the moment I still just about fit in my normal clothes. I'm 12+5 now and shocked I'm still in my normal clothes as I was in maternity clothes at 10 weeks last time. I'm a bit worried about having to buy more though. I had intended to lose all the baby weight by now but it hasn't shifted. Last time I was a size 10 and now I'm a 14. I'm hoping the stretchier earlier pg clothes will be ok for a while.

conkertree · 09/02/2007 16:58

can i add?

conkertree · 09/02/2007 17:01

sorry - not wondering out loud about my maths skills - just i wrote a long message and then couldnt post it - wondered if the thread was getting too long but obviously not.

Jist was that my work trousers are getting very tight so look forward to finding a pair of nice trousers soon, but cant do it this weekend as am flying down to bristol to pick up our new (second hand) car. long trip back up to scotland, but as long as the snow has cleared a bit, should be quite fun.

hope you all have good weekends

redtent · 09/02/2007 17:21

Loler- we shall have to see if it is right again for a 3rd time for both of us this time!!!

  • says girl for me too!
treacletart · 10/02/2007 15:48

Hi all, seems I'm 54% girl. I'm still feeling sick and I was hardly sick at all with DS, they say thats another sign of a girl don't they? I've been feeling pretty wretched lately and even worse last few days with sinusitis. Trust me vomiting with sinusitis is a terrible combo. I'm also absolutely enormous! I reckon I look the same now as I did at 20 weeks with DS. Of course I looked a few months pregnant to begin with but then that's another issue...

boobooma · 11/02/2007 16:08

Hi all, back now after dating scan which puts my due date back to 28th August same as Loler tho I think its more like 25th). Still feeling nauseous most of the time but less tired. Glad to hear a lot of you are starting to feel better. Roll on energy and blooming gorgeousness.

BabyMadwithBump · 11/02/2007 17:33

Ancient chinese birth gender chart, I've searched the internet over the last 2 years for these charts and I found 3 differant one's so far and one that had a few months were baby could be either , alright for a bit of fun but dont get your hopes up. I'm one of ten, charts have only got half of them right for my mother, so 50%/50%! Got both mine right on two charts and wrong on the other, for my firend two charts that were wrong for her DC and one right, cant win!

lovelybird · 11/02/2007 20:22

Hi all, glad to see everyone is OK. I'm fine. I had some regular bleeding until 10 wks and then some at 12 weeks. Everything was OK at the scan (9+ wks) as I have previously posted. I saw the midwife on Friday and we heard the baby's heartbeat so hopefully everything is OK. I was very anxious until we saw the mw of Fri and heard the heartbeat even though i'd been for the scan, if that makes sense.
I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and am growing rapidly. DH going to get maternity clothes out of the loft tomorrow. I couldn't get my jeans done up today at all. I'm going to tell work this week, it's getting a bit hard to hide. Still don't feel like I can relax properly, but am so happy that I've got to 14 wks and everything is OK.
Will try and post a bit more, looking forward to talking to you all more.

stevie74 · 12/02/2007 13:44

Hi all, had my 12wk scan on thursday. All's fine. The baby was very active so it took over an hour for them to get all the readings & measurements they needed. Took my 2xDD's with me so they could see too. Not eve going to try & explain it to the youngest (16mths) as yet by my eldest whose 2.5yrs was upset by the lady looking in mommy's tummy until we showed her the legs & explained that mommy has magic legs in her tummy (was planning the big talk nearer to 20 wk scan when she'l be able to see more) so now she keeps telling everyone she has legs in her tummy too

how do I add myself? I am a bit late to add considering when this thread started!

loler · 12/02/2007 20:28

Hello Katie - you might be late joining but we've still got ages to go!

We told dd (3.5) she thinks it's great and keeps whispering things to my tummy (her secrets!). Her biggest worry is how the baby in there eats - told her it was through a magic tube, so she says I have to drink milk to make it grow big and strong. DS (21 mths) hasn't go a clue whats going on around him let alone get the concept of a baby in my tummy - have my doubts that he'll notice the baby when it's brought home

I can still fit easily into my own clothes - but being at end August I'm a month behind some of you (boo- nice to have someone due on same day). Also lost last baby weight recently, never got around to buying thin clothes so have got all my old fat clothes to wear.
