Know what you mean about the names. I can come up with loads of girls names but having a lot of trouble with boys names.

conkertree · 30/01/2007 12:45

yup us too - we could have 20 girls and be happy with their names, but boys are a big struggle. All my favourite boys names are family ones, and we will probably end up using them, but would love to come up with one that was more unique, and then name them after someone with their middle name.

Think purplerabbit and I may have to confer on the name front just incase they are both boys. Although i'm due a week earlier than she is, she won't be allowed to go past her due date as she had an emergency csection last time. dont want to have to race to get the baby out just so we get first choice of names

tokentotty · 30/01/2007 13:14

Hahahahha Conkertree am laughing at the thought of you and Purplerabbit in opposite beds having competition labour to be first to get the best 'family' name !

endlesslove · 30/01/2007 13:51

Hello ladies

Well I am back! I have been off for a while as had an early bleed at 4 weeks and it frightened the life out of me and didn't want to be anywhere around bad news (which you do hear about on Mumsnet).

Anyways, I am back now to give you all support and hopefully to receive some back.

I am now 11+2. Am not feeling sick anymore. I was being sick all day over Christmas and just after but seems to have worn off now. However, seem to have been put off of food for life as never seem to fancy anything!

Am petrified again though and need some guidance. I am soooo worried as the symptoms have cleared up and have 12 week scan next Thursday. I just don't want to go in and see a baby with no heartbeat or a problem. I had two early scans, the first at 4 weeks which only showed a yolk sac and at 6 weeks there was a tiny embryo with a flickering heart beat. Is it common to have a missed miscarriage if heart beat aleady seen?

Thanks for listening and wishing everyone well. Hope you all start to feel "blooming" soon!

xxx

Babbit · 30/01/2007 14:33

Welcome back Endlesslove. Can't help specifically I'm afraid, but I'm sure your symptoms are lifting because you are moving to the 2nd trimester and not for any other reason. Try not to worry, hard I know.

bresha · 30/01/2007 16:27

Hello every one, hope you are all doing ok
My phone line went on the 18th and it took BT till yesterday to fix it, 12 days I went with out phone or internet, grrrr I was so angry
I will try and read the posts I missed later, there is about an hours read I think, lol
Well I had my scan last Tuesday , every thing looks fine they gave me a due date of 4th august I had to Waite an hour though because they had just got a new machine and the lady was figuring out how to work it, but it was so clear, you could see its little toes and every thing, cant Waite for my 20 week scan now
I was really not well last week, I through up every thing I ate and was so tired I could hardly move, starting to feel better this week. Ate dinner last night, but through up my breakfast and lunch 2day. Got a doc appointment 2morrow, don?t think they can do much but I cant but try
Looks like there are a few newbie?s, HELLO and welcome
Shall we do an update on stats?

Loulee · 30/01/2007 19:14

Hi endless love - good to have you back, sorry can't help - but like Babbit said, try not to worry. We are meant to be feeling less sick now as we move forward...
Hey bresha, how's the driving lessons? was wondering where you were. I've not had any yet, but at last have a name and number to call (and the accounts done!0 - so no excuses (apart from being pregnant!!

treacletart · 30/01/2007 22:20

Hello all - back from our 12week nuchal - all as should be, wriggling around, waving and looking cute. All our stats went in the right direction and I feel I can finally relax a bit. He even looked to try and work out the baby's sex for us but couldn't see becaused the legs were in the way - I'd always thought 12 weeks was far too early for that sort of thing. Good luck with all your imminent scans! Roll on the second trimesters!

BibiThree · 31/01/2007 09:28

hi treacletart, good news from the scan
do you mind me asking if you had the scan on the nhs or did you have to go privately?

thanks

BabyMadwithBump · 31/01/2007 10:39

Hi all PG ladies
Cant believe I'm almost 14 weeks (Friday) My bump gave it away to my children, my DS#2 4yrs saw my tuck my top into my jeans and my son said "when's that baby going to come out" I just said what baby and he said "well you've got a big fat belly belly they must been a baby in there" I just said trying to hide my bump "go and play", DH and I had a chat and we decided to tell our DC and they just had a look at the two pic's and one said baby looks like a girl and the other said baby looks like a boy, then they said when this is born can we have another I just told them mummy and daddy can only have 3 three babies (DH having the snip after this little one is born) they tuck it all with a pinch of salt, bless. I'm very shocked at the size of my bump, people say I look 5 months not 3 and a half, MIL said it's because I'm very slim (size 8-10 ) or should I say was ! DH wont leave my bump alone, all night long bless, I told him yesterday that I felt fluttering in my belly right were baby is growing, that was it I was pined to the settee for 2 hours while he had his hand on my bump waiting to feel the fluttering for himself.
Feel loads better not been sick for a week, sometime I just feel sick but that only lasts for an hour or two, cant sleep at the moment but hopeing that will past and I don't feel as drained nower days so looking up now! Hope everyone is fine and well today, Babymadxxx

conkertree · 31/01/2007 10:40

thats great treacletart - purplerabbit doesnt get on here much anymore cause she cant use the work computer, so I'm sure she wouldnt mind me telling you that her scan went well yesterday as well.

conkertree · 31/01/2007 10:43

sorry babymadwithbump - posts crossed. i'm 14 weeks today but bump not really showing although definately harder to do up my trousers.

my dh has an annoying habit just now of waking up at 5am and deciding thats a good time to feel the notquitebump.

BabyMadwithBump · 31/01/2007 11:00

A friend of mine is 2 weeks ahead of me, and she isn't showing at all she is still in her size 10 jeans with room (and she's had no sickness ) She asked me what have I been eating, that just it I've not gained any weight in fact I've lost 8-10lbs in weight, so where this bump has came from I just don't know! Babymadxx

conkertree · 31/01/2007 15:20

have just noticed since Sunday that when i climb stairs, I tend to be out of breath by the top. This is a very wierd feeling as I would count myself as being reasonably fit. I haven't been doing as much exercise as normal in the first trimester cause of feeling sick, but I wouldnt have thought any residual fitness would leave so quickly?

Any one else notice this too, or any experienced mners know why this is? Would expect it later on, but not yet?

myweegirl · 31/01/2007 15:47

conkertree - i get that too (plus can really feel my heart beating faster). I think it's something to do with the bump taking all of your energy (later in pregnancy it's to with less space for lungs to expand).

Babbit · 31/01/2007 16:48

Me too conkertree and I am doing the same exercise as before, i.e. not much other than running around after a toddler.

treacletart · 31/01/2007 17:11

Bibi, the NHS nuchals for Brighton girls are all done in London at Kings. I didn't have one with DS but form friends' experiences you don't get much say on appointments and you have to be prepared to wait around all day. You can have them done privately at the Nuffield £150ish? I think, or a short train journey to Goring Hall hospital in Worthing for £95. Thats what we did - my first experience of private medicine - evening appts no problem and more like a hotel than a hospital. Probably cost us much less than both of us taking time off work, sorting childcare and getting to the other side of London for whatever time in the morning. Prove's if money's an issue it's worth shopping around. I'd recommend it for sure.

Augustbride · 31/01/2007 17:16

Hi! Just want to introduce myslf as we had scan yesterday so it all fels a bit more real now. Our first is due on the 7th August , five days short of our first wedding anniversary. Sickness seems to be passing but still feel totally exhausted by the time I get home from work. Looking forward to getting to know everyone !

jabuti · 31/01/2007 20:37

hi conker and babbi. our hearts are working around 20% faster. so nothing to do with the size of the bumps yet, or lack of exercise. its just so much work the heart that we get out of breath!

Loulee · 31/01/2007 20:46

welcome augustbride, nice to have you onboard Glad your scan went well, I'm counting down the days til mine - 5 to go!

i have a small bump too, but thankfully not too big! - was thinking that since it's no3 I might just balloon straight away - but no maternity clothes yet a while...

tokentotty · 01/02/2007 09:40

Morning Augustbride and welcome. Lovely news about your scan and what a wonderful first anniversary present.

I've got my scan/nuchal etc this afternoon and am exceedingly nervous about it all.

BabyMadwithBump · 01/02/2007 10:18

Hi all, I'm off to the hospital today to have more blood test done for this over-active thyroid, also had a really bad night sleep it keeps getting worse each and every day or should I say night cant get any good sleep at al. MIL said that I shouldn't bother with any baby skin care stuff as she's getting it all for me, baby bath, lotion, cotton wool, ect, one less thing to worry about, even though we've not got much to get any way, as this little one tuck us 18 TC and in that time we brought more or less everything, we have everything possible (need and want) for the nursery and I've already brought my 5 in 1 pram (last christmas couldn't help it), and I still have all DC baby clothes, and all my 3 yr sister baby clothes so i have boy and girl just in case, plus friends and family have been buying lots of bits and pieces, so a worry free PG I hope! Just got to buy Cotbed (as I'm giving mine to SIL), baby swing and feeding bottles that's it, I was shocked as I made a list out the other night of all the thing we have and all the things we've got to get and 3 things that it, DH was pleased bless!
Hope everyone is fine and well today.
Must get off, blood test's joys!
Babymadxx

Hersetta · 01/02/2007 11:34

Figures crossed for your scan TT - hope it all goes well. Mines not for another 2 weeks - the wait is killing me.

GillL · 01/02/2007 14:05

Hi everyone and welcome AugustBride. I had been feeling much better for a few days but for the last couple of days I have been feeling really sick and tired again. I'm still eating little and often because otherwise I feel so drained. I bought some Spatone on someone's recommendation from here. I hope it starts to work soon. Luckily I'm having no trouble sleeping but I do wake up every night now to go to the loo.

One week til my scan. I'm counting down the days so I can start telling people. I hate keeping my pg a secret. My family keep telling people and then asking me if it's ok!
