Evening ladies - goodness the new thread has flown!

I am currently totally comatose on the sofa after a day at a massive zoo with DH and DS today. We've been off work this week and decided to give him a day off nursery and do a day trip as the weather was so nice.

It was great but I ended up carrying him a lot and he's 13 bloody kg now! We wanted to go out for the whole day so he was tired and just wanted Mummy when it went past his usual nap time. Eventually he did konk out for a 20 minute nap in the buggy about 3pm which gave me a breather!

jellybelly85 · 31/03/2016 20:34

Aww three cheers for your DH spock - also very considerate of you not to share your germs.

My NCT group starts in May. In theory should finish before baby arrives (first baby - likely to be post due date)... But cutting it close!

So... since 28w I seem to be leaking quite frequently. Smells like pee. Very annoying. Is this another glamorous pregnancy symptom? tick another one off the neverending list do I just need to get some panty liners?

jellybelly85 · 31/03/2016 20:36

Sounds like an exhausting but nice day out mrsmugoo - hope you've keep your feet up for the rest of the evening Brew

MollieRos · 31/03/2016 21:14

aw spock how lovely is your DH?! If he's anything like mine he'd be happy with a beer and tea cooked for him as a thank you Smile

jellybaby I'll be a couple of days off 38 weeks for my NCT class- I hope I make it!

ILovePies · 31/03/2016 21:26

Spock how wonderful is your DH!
Jelly I would have thought just another horrible pregnancy symptom, stick a panty liner on, if you have any concerns call your midwife. My back waters went with DD and they told me waters smell like sperm Grin also remember to do your pelvic floor exercises!!

JellyBaby26 · 31/03/2016 22:49

Spock you have a keeper there! Dh would never do that I don't think!

Sadly the wee will continue to drip out of you like a leaky tap, does with me anyway . Lush

clarish84 · 31/03/2016 23:30

Aww Spock that is so nice of your dh
Not sure mine would be so keen on his own

nehagarg · 01/04/2016 09:04

spock .. Thats brilliant of him. Definitely deserves something nice Smile

Managed to finally get to sleep at 5:30am... only to be woked by my alarm at 6:30! Shattered doesn't even come close Sad

Rose2806 · 01/04/2016 10:05

People worried about baby over activity- I asked my midwife yesterday and she said it's only really in the last 4 weeks you need to worry as it's when the baby doesn't have much space left to move so normally you're feeling squirming rather than strong kicks, so if they go crazy in there it could be a sign they're distressed. Hope that helps!

nehagarg · 01/04/2016 10:23

Oh no laughing. Can you take some time off work maybe and catch up? I become absolutely useless and very grumpy if I havent slept.

Thanks Rose .. That sounds like good advice. Though I already only feel squirming around. The only time I feel a kick is if the baby takes a jab at my bladder and I am only 31+4. Shock

Place marking

Eastend2015 · 01/04/2016 10:51

Thanks Rose I saw my midwife today too and he said the same. He also said no fixed pattern is pretty standard until about 34 weeks or so and while the official advice is more about a pattern now than a fixed number of movements, he agreed it wasn't the most helpful. He said babies can go to sleep for quite long periods of time but a rough guide of at least ten movements in 12 hours Grin

Happy 3rd trimester to me! Finally at 28 weeks, very strange it seems to have flown by! Midwife talking about 38 week sweeps if I go for a VBAC....I thought eek...that's only 10 weeks away! Saw her today, heartbeat good, measuring slightly bigger than predicted on growth chart but nothing mad yet. Measured 4weeks ahead last time from about ~35 weeks. Got to have GTT :( and whooping cough jab again.

Hope all are well!

laughingGnomette · 01/04/2016 11:35

nehagarg - I think I'll try and leave early, should be fine on a Friday, just have to get through a 2 hour meeting on technical documentation first - joy!

I also had MW appointment (30 weeks). Baby is head up but still had plenty of room to move around. Got a VBACS clinic booked in for May 23rd, let's hope he doesn't decide to come early!!!

dollydaydream84 · 01/04/2016 12:15

Wow that is quite late for a VBAC clinic appointment Gnomette - what date are you due again?

Eastend2015 · 01/04/2016 12:29

So cute!

Eastend thats really cute. Grin

laughing 2 hour meeting about technical documentation? I'd fall asleep even if I wasn't sleep deprived. Shock

Just had my 31 week midwife appt. She was quite confused whether baby was head down or up. (And I was expecting her to teach me how to tell). Anyway if she still cant tell at my 36 week appt, they'll do a scan. Repeat bloods for iron and another liver related disorder (because i am slightly itchy) and that was it. The baby did suddenly start to jump around when she turned the doppler on, as usual. He hates those things with a passion.

Good luck with the Gtt dolly. The wait was the worst part for me. :(

14th June! Unfortunately the April one was fully booked. She promised that they wouldn't try and guilt or pressure me into a VBACS at the clinic... we'll see!

dollydaydream84 · 01/04/2016 12:49

After my experience yesterday...good luck with that Gnomette! Having slept on it, an ELCS does feel like the right thing to do for me unless I have some sort of early natural birth which I'm not banking on at all.

Thanks nehagarg I'm absolutely rubbish at drinking "funny tasting" things like weak cordial or sparkling fruit water which is clear liquid - seems to confuse my brain and make me feel sick. It was horrible last time as I was famished, trying not to throw up anyway and then having to drink sugary green water, plus I won't have my mum for company this time as she will be looking after DD for me. Oh well, all for a good reason (?!) I suppose!

I think working out which way around is quite hard for them sometimes, we had a scan at 40 weeks as midwife thought DD was breech, she wasn't!

JulieBolton79 · 01/04/2016 13:23

Hi everyone I'm a newbie due 7th June Smile

Eastend2015 · 01/04/2016 14:20

My midwife couldn't find the baby's head this morning lol!! Found the heartbeat ok so didn't seem concerned!

Just had a lunch blow out at Bimba y Lola who do some very funky bright dresses. So sick of boring maternity wear! The sales person was amazingly good at finding a few options that work with the bump but DH will have a heart attack when he sees the credit card! Oh well, it's me that pays it and i've been really good for ages!

AmIseeingRight · 01/04/2016 14:40

Place marking WAVES excited and scared at the same time. I wonder how tatted and baby are doing?

PS welcome Julie

dollydaydream84 · 01/04/2016 16:32

Hi Julie an early June baby! Have you about 9 more weeks to go?

Eastend I know what you mean about maternity clothes they are either dull colours, striped or way overpriced! Well done for treating yourself! LOL at not finding the head!

Last night and this afternoon had an uncomfortable poke from the baby, it is almost as though one of my organs is sore and when it goes near it,it really hurts. Not had anything like that before. Slightly worrying as its the exact same place I had lots of gastro-tests last year which were inconclusive! Just under my right rib. Weird though because I kind of poked back to try and move it and could feel a little limb of some sort!
