I'm 32 + 4 weeks dollydaydream84
It really does sound like a real weight my twins was only 5lb 4 and 5lb 5 x

emma85x · 15/04/2016 18:08

dolly and strawberry That's really reassuring, thank you.

clarish So pleased your scan went well!

gnomette Thank you for the advice.

I've booked in for a private growth scan at 7:30 tonight. It's worth the money just to put our minds and rest. Hopefully consultant will consider the scan report next week but if not I'll more than happily have another scan in a couple of weeks. Will let you ladies know how it goes tonight. Thank you so much for all of your support. I really do appreciate it.

On a completely separate note. nehagarg Are you okay? You've been unusually quite this week! Hope all is ok xx

MollieRos · 15/04/2016 18:22

How lovely to see the baby suckling Ilove!

Geneva it sounds like you have a lot to think about at the moment! I suppose with the moving once you're in, you're in, even if the baby comes the next day or something! But could potentially be stressful if you have the baby just before. Would you have somewhere you could stay, even if just for a night if the baby decided to come the day before the move or something? I think I'd be tempted to try and move earlier, and just stack stuff in the middle of rooms to get things painted, just so at least you're in there!

Hope everything's ok booked

inside that sounds really stressful, fingers crossed it all works out.

emma hope the scan goes ok. As others have said measurements are more useful for comparing against each other to check there is some growth, rather than being an accurate measure of the baby's size, so I'm sure everything will be fine.

nehagarg · 15/04/2016 18:31

Awww emma. How very sweet of you to ask. Smile I am fine. Had a very busy week in and out of the hospital for my heart getting echo, ecg and a 24 hour heart monitor (which made me itchy as hell). 6 hour antenatal class tomorrow and then off to Oxford to celeberate my dad's birthday (who takes his birthday super seriously) Grin

All that together with training my cover had had my hands full. Smile

Been keeping up with everyone's news though. Really hope your scan tonight goes well. Even if consultant doesnt accept the report, it will still give you huge peace of mind. And thats worth a lot.

booked, inside. Thinking of you. Hope all goes well.

I am another one with night sweats though not as bad. I just wake up feeling like someone has poured water over me but not really feeling warm. Is this normal? Have had it for weeks now.

Baby karate kicked me strong enough to wake me up for the first time last night. Woke up to an arm (or a leg) poking out of my stomach about an inch. Hmm

Oh FFS. DP has been summoned to court to give evidence as a key witness at a trial between 13th and 27th June. He may need to be in court for 5 days, MY DUE DATE IS THE 14th!! Its taken 5 years to get the trial to court and it just happens to be scheduled for mid June!!! Fuck, fuck, fuckity fuck.

bikingintherain · 15/04/2016 19:47

I keep waking up now because the baby is kicking me. It's so hard that is seems to cause Braxton Hicks contractions which are pretty uncomfortable boardering on painful at times. I know they're not real contractions though because if I shift my position then they calm down. But it's annoying because I prefer to sleep on one side and baby seems to move most when I'm on that side.

This evening I had a mild panic about being utterly unorganised, and I ended up doing a fair bit of online shopping. But having ordered things now I know I'm almost there with getting things, I just now need to organise/wash etc so our bedroom doesn't look like we moved in yesterday with all the baby crap that's around.

Oh and send DH to buy things like maternity pads and nappies. Maternity pads could be interesting in our second (and that's being very generous) language!

All the best for people who have got things being more complicated or difficult. I know it's said so many times, but really try not to worry. They don't like to take many chances with pg so they always send for extra tests etc to be on the safe side, and even when they find something they will do everything to keep both you and baby as safe as possible.

bikingintherain · 15/04/2016 19:48

Gnomette that is awful timing! And Sod's law. Have you family close by to help you around that time? Surely if you did go into labour they would just ask him to come back a different day?!

ILovePies · 15/04/2016 19:55

Thanks for all your comments on the scan, it was lovely :)
booked really hope everything is okay, sending lots of love. The name you have chosen is lovely xx
inside sorry to hear about the OC, thinking of you.
clarish glad scan went well! It's crazy that they have an actual weight now!
emma glad you managed to get a scan booked, will hopefully put your mind at ease. Your midwife sounds truly awful!
laughing in regards to your dilemma of how to have baby - I am opting for a VBAC & thinking of pushing positive thoughts! I have heard ELCS are easier to recover from, but I hated my CS!
Also what awful timing for you. Can they put special measurements in place incase you do go into labour?!

Having horrible braxton hicks this evening! Feeling so uncomfortable and sorry for myself!

MollieRos · 15/04/2016 20:31

laughing that's really bad timing! My DH has also been summoned to court as a witness to an incident and it's around my due date (what are the odds?!!), he had to fill in a form to request to be excused between certain dates, we're still waiting to hear back but he's hoping he won't have to go. Might be worth speaking to the court?

Seems like everyone's getting disturbed sleep at the moment. Perhaps practise for when babies are here?! Every time I wake up in the night I'm being kicked, but I haven't established whether it's his kicking actually waking me or if I'm just growing a nocturnal baby in here!

iamdivergent · 15/04/2016 21:11

How can I need a pee when I've just been for one! I've been 5 times in past hour grrrrr.

I have very dry skin in my hands and feet which is really irritating me. Got some e45 to try over the weekend to see if it makes a difference, if not I'll be heading to the drs as some of the broken skin is actually painful. Thankfully bump is nice and moisturised, not noticed any new stretchmarks so far either which is good.

Can't believe I'm 31wks on Sunday! It's all coming up so fast, getting excited to meet the little man.

emma85x · 15/04/2016 22:26

Hello ladies, I hope you've had relaxing Friday nights. Private growth scan went well and it was so lovely to see him again. He is big but 80 centile. He weighs 4lb 5oz so not the huge gap MW measured today. I'm sure the NHS will offer a growth scan in a few weeks but for now at least minds are at rest!

Homeboddy49 · 15/04/2016 23:00

just wondering if anyone is doing hypnobirthing? I've been reading up about it and went to a taster session recently and it seems to make sense but wondered if anyone had any real life experiences they can share?

AmIseeingRight · 15/04/2016 23:56

hi ladies

So i'm with all the ones getting tests & observations. I mentioned to my midwife that my hands were itchy and he immediately sent me off for bloods tests as a precaution, I didn't think anything of it as it was mild itchiness but got called in as my results were very abnormal and they think its Obstetric Cholestasis. I've now had so many tests and monitoring over the last 48 hours and booked in for a liver scan. Scary few days as i've gone from being a low risk midwife led to high risk consultant led overnight, meaning no home from home birth for me Sad

Anyways even if you have mild itching mention it to midwife coz my itchiness is mild and not even constant, plus I feel fine but my blood works are more than double the level they should be, so they are very concerned. Im so glad that I transferred my care at 28wks and now @ Guys & St Thomas where I am receiving excellent care, not sure my old trust would have been as concerned or as thorough as they were rated "requires improvement" in all areas by CQC.

Now quickly getting things ready as i've been warned if results don't improve baby will have to be born early just to be safe. Im 33 wks so not much time if everything kicks off.

MindfulBear · 16/04/2016 01:02

Take care seeing & good luck. Scary stuff indeed.

MindfulBear · 16/04/2016 01:04

home I did Hypnobirthing last time. Was excellent. For relaxation And giving DH a role.
Ended up induced with PE and DS was back to back so eventually I had an epidural but was mobile and v late in labour so still gave birth standing / kneeling and naturally without forceps despite a massive head!!!

So it worked and helped me focus. Definitely worth trying.

MindfulBear · 16/04/2016 01:05

I had a growth scan today. All perfect but bub is still breach..... Eek

MindfulBear · 16/04/2016 01:12

emma I have hashis and take thyroid drugs. Has anyone been monitoring your bloods? Try to get it done once a month between now and when bub turns 7mo. Really helps many things including prolactin levels which helps bf. Also important for bub in utero of course but if you've been feeling ok then bub should be too.

Good luck.

strawberrypenguin · 16/04/2016 07:13

Still time for baby to turn mindful will they keep an extra eye on you?

Glad the scan went well emma

I've got really dry skin on my hands too divergent I'm using a really nice l'occataine handcream that seems to be keeping it manageable. Wasn't sure if it was a pg thing or not but it is annoying!

Mrspopper · 16/04/2016 07:19

Oh bless you Am I. Sounds scary. Good that they have picked it up and will keep a close eye on you.
I am off for a mini break with my friend today, to get a break from my toddler, we are staying in a little b&b and having dinner in the pub. Can't wait! Also planning a night with OH before baby to just spend some time together which is hard when working and looking after another little one.

nehagarg · 16/04/2016 07:23

Glad all is measuring well at your scans emma and mindful.

I had the exact same thing AmISeeing. Mild itching which came back with elevated bile acid levels. I still dont know what to make of it. They've put me on weekly bloods but cant seem to make up their mind whether to give me meds or not. Lets see what Monday's results say. Have they given you Urso? Is there no chance for you to be low risk again if your levels normalise?

Anyone else's baby roll around more than kick? I have no clue when mine sleeps. Shock

OP posts:
mrsmugoo · 16/04/2016 07:33

Haha nehagarg - they sleep/wake/sleep/wake in little short bursts around the clock...just like in real life ;)

MindfulBear · 16/04/2016 07:39

Anyone still got a breach baby? Mine at 31w is still breach and I'm wondering when she will turn and what to do to encourage her!!!

Homeboddy49 · 16/04/2016 07:55

Thanks for that mindful that's really useful. i think I will sign up to the course. I know you can't predict what happens during labour but it would be great to try and feel calm and relaxed about the whole thing.

Great your growth scan is okSmilefingers crossed baby will move soon.

Some of you lucky ones have photos from your growth scans. They don't give them out at my hospital for growth scans. I have my 20wk scan in a frame next to my bed!!

MollieRos · 16/04/2016 08:33

Iam and strawberry I have really dry skin on my hands too which I don't normally have. It must be a pregnancy thing! I'm constantly putting moisturiser on them at the moment.

AmI that all sounds very stressful. Really good that you're getting such good, proactive care though. And disappointing not being able to have a home birth. I've gone from home birth to having to go to the high risk consultant led unit (no drama for me, just due to needing antibiotics for strep b). My midwife was lovely and met me up at the unit to show me round and talk me through everything. It was really reassuring- we'd already done a tour of the midwife led unit which is just separated by a set of doors, but it does feel very different on the high risk bit so it was good to have a look round. And fingers crossed the baby can stay put for as long as possible!

I've got Juju Sundin's Birth Skills book which is really good- I can see lots of it being useful in labour. It suits me a bit better than hypnobirthing I think but is along the same lines- understanding what's going on physiologically, as well as understanding and managing the pain. Thank you to whoever it was that recommended it on here!

laughingGnomette · 16/04/2016 08:54

AmI - hugs! How stressful. Thinking of you. Great advice though, I'm sure many people would turn a blind-eye to mild itching, I certainly would!

Thanks Mollie thats useful, how crazy is that timing for both of us?! The lawyer pretty much sent the email as he was leaving his desk on Friday evening so we've been unable to get hold of him to find out if there is any flexibility. There is a small chance of an out of court settlement so fingers crossed that happens. The hard thing is, we REALLY want to help our friend's trial as much as we can but the timing is horrible.

Lovely scan emma. I hope your consultant is able to give you further reassurance. I have to say your midwife sounds dreadful.

I'm going to be starting MAT leave a week earlier than planned, I have enough holiday so it just makes sense. Five weeks left!!
