Strawberrypenguin - last time they checked from 28 weeks but my friend who's 6 weeks ahead of me at the same midwife says they've changed it so as not to worry mothers if the baby is malpositioned before 36 weeks as they usually move. They don't use dopplers at all now either, as long as baby is moving fine.

cautiousoptimist1 · 13/04/2016 18:24

emma have you seen the Peter Rabbit stuff at mothercare? There's a new range for an anniversary, we have the Moses basket as its longer than some of the others and I want to get as much use out of it as I can.

laughingGnomette · 13/04/2016 18:47

Flowers - mrsmugoo, I can completely understand why you're feeling anxious. Rooting for a nice head down baby for you!

MollieRos · 13/04/2016 19:15

Cheshire the room looks great!

mrsmugoo try not to worry- lots of time for her to move. That spinning babies link that someone posted on here looked useful for getting babies turned round too.

My braxton hicks went crazy again last night- they felt like they were coming almost constantly during the day, and even more so into the evening, then I counted them when I went to bed- I had 13 in half an hour, lasting about a minute each, so very close together! DH and I did lots of googling and dithered about ringing triage, but in the end decided not to as I had no other symptoms (pain, bleeding etc). I nipped into the midwife today just to run it past her (I work in the health centre so see her around regularly) and she gave me a mild telling off- she said I probably should have rung triage. Though she did agree that seeing as I hadn't had the baby last night, I made the right decision not to ring Grin It's so hard to know when to worry or when not to! She did say that if babies are going to come early it often happens very fast, so emphasised that if I'm in doubt I should always ring. I really hope he stays put for a few more weeks at least!

Real struggling the last couple of days groins/hips so sore defo starting to waddle anyone else

Violet88 · 13/04/2016 20:35

Had the growth scan and he's weighing 4lb3oz. She said the fluid level was 9 when it should be less than 7, so we have to go back in a weeks time to get it rechecked. If it goes over 11 we get referred to a fetal medicine person for a more detailed check. If it remains 9 then I think she said they won't do anything but might just repeat my GT test. Hope everyone else's has gone/goes well. x

mrsmugoo · 13/04/2016 20:43

Mollie yeah I did all the spinning babies inversions and tilts til the cows came home last time to no avail!

Trouble is - I can't really do any exercises or positions to change baby position until I actually know what it is. And if I don't get confirmation until 36 weeks I've wasted 4 weeks of manoeuvring when there's actually still room for her to move.

Potkettleblack2 · 13/04/2016 20:56

Violet it's good you are being monitored-fingers crossed it doesn't go any higher. How many weeks are you?
My growth scan was fine-baby estimated to be 5lbs which makes it feel very real! Apparently that's "well within normal" range. My placenta has moved too-so all in all, good!

Violet88 · 13/04/2016 21:21

Potkettle I'm 31+5, how many weeks are you? That's good news about your scan! One thing she did say about mine was that babys stomach was a bit on the larger side, but she didn't give me specific numbers? Now worrying about gestational diabetes again, although I was all clear at 28 weeks?? I know what you mean about the weight making it seem real!! I was like 4lb3 it sounds like a proper weight, you could be born at that weight an it wouldn't be too unusual! I was only 5lb12 myself!

Potkettleblack2 · 13/04/2016 22:05

That's exactly what I thought about the weight too-it's close to being a fine weight! I'm 32+5 so just a week ahead of you. She did say the baby is on the 78th centile-which to me seems too big, but I know is fine. It's frustrating when they make comments and don't elaborate-I always get more worried than I need to!

I'm in mothercare now and about to buy the Chicco next to me. I'm sure someone mentioned what sheets fit it on here recently-but I can't find it now. Can anyone shed any light?!

nehagarg · 14/04/2016 11:05

Hi potkettle .. That was me. I bought the travel cot sheets from mothercare ... Just ask them about it, they will know the sizes.

Bessie111 · 14/04/2016 15:06

Clarish that's lovely!

Potkettle I put our chicco together last night, it's quite big but not quite level with our bed (or should I say my bed as 'poor' DH will be moving into spare to escape) so need to make an alteration there. Let me know what you think, it's not quite as sturdy as I expected but then not exactly like newborns do very much I guess. I'm putting in a Sleepyhead #controversial!!! X

Eastend2015 · 14/04/2016 15:14

Ooh clarish that's lovely!

Poor bubs won't have a dedicated room as such- we have so many books that it will be a nursery/ study. When I went through all of our books though, a lot are actually kids ones anyway that DH has inherited so I'm hoping I can accessorise with some cute children's bookends, rugs and storage so it still feels a bit special 😍 This weekend should be the last weekend of hardcore DIY so then I can start winding down.

iamdivergent · 14/04/2016 16:47

I've just placed my essentials order on Amazon. I ordered a Snoozeshade for the car seat (I have a travel system and will use car seat until approx 6mths), Diono body support, Babymoov Cosydream and a couple of comforters for baby too.

That wallpaper is lovely, puts me in mind of toy story!

laughingGnomette · 14/04/2016 18:47

clarish - lovely wallpaper!

MollieRos · 14/04/2016 18:57

LouLou I'm getting my waddle on the last few days! I haven't really suffered with much pelvic pain so far but it's getting quite sore now.

mrsmugoo hmm, frustrating. I really hope your baby ends up the right way round for you!

clarish lovely wallpaper! I'm feeling a bit stressed about our baby room- we had it all painted but we've had some extra building work done and they've completely trashed the room, so we're going to have to completely re-paint, aargh!

laughingGnomette · 14/04/2016 19:16

Oh thats rubbish Mollie!!

Did anyone watch the five-star babies program last night (about the Portland Hospital)? I can't believe the babies have their own nursery they can be sent to and the mums get to have a full nights sleep if they want. The consultant I'm under also works out of the portland so I'll be interested to see if she makes an appearance!

iamdivergent · 14/04/2016 19:33

I just watched it laughing mental!

ILovePies · 14/04/2016 19:37

Had my growth scan today :) very happy with baby's size. Estimated at 4ib 10oz & 50th centile. Was so lovely to see baby in so much detail. Could actually see it suckling! Was so cute.
Hope everyone is feeling okay! It's getting to the constantly knackered stage now!

booked83 · 14/04/2016 19:59

*ilovepies that is a lovely scan picture....

My legs and lower back are killing today!! Hmmliterally done nothing!
