I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

Bobby with mine I'd had them on and off plenty of times. They felt exactly the same the night I went in to labour but when I realised I was having to breathe through them I decided to get checked out. Just listen to your body and you'll be fine.

MrsCeee · 22/08/2016 17:40

Oh Bella, she's absolutely beautiful! Hope both of you are recovering well.

Welcome, to the ladies joining the group.

I've been having Braxton Hicks and a few that I had to breathe through. I vividly remember with DS I had the one Very painful one and I cried to DH about it (in hindsight it wasn't actually that painful but it made me panic thinking "Jesus, how will I cope with more pain than this in labour"). It was all fine in the end.

Methinks I'm definitely going into October ..

How are we all feeling? (Slightly jealous of those of you who are already at term)

shabbychic1 · 22/08/2016 18:30

36+3, some BH buy only tightening a not cramps. Belly goes rock hard, very strange! Not due til 16th but cs booked for 13th and I definitely want to wait til at least sept 1st so I'm just sitting it out l/ waddling around feeling slightly miserable! Oh, in mother care today a lady told me I looked beautiful! At 9month preg I almost cried! Aw!!! The 3rd trimester is tough and gets tougher hey?! Also don't want to go into spontaneous labour as I'll have to rush in for emcs and would rather have the calm of ELCS! Bags packed though-probably way too much stuff, millions of mat pads, nappies and various sizes baby grows- apart from nipple balm! Must get some! Grin

balalalala · 22/08/2016 22:40

My bh appear to have eased off. I just feel heavy and uncomfortable. I'm also trying to keep it up in the hope that it hurries things along...

Womenareliketeabags · 24/08/2016 07:31

I've been having irregular BH on and off for over a week now, also got bad back ache, upset stomach, not sleeping right and Monday evening I started to lose my mucus plug. Still no labour tho and I'm getting fed up. 38+3 today.hows everyone else?

balalalala · 24/08/2016 08:28

Fingers crossed things start kicking off soon!

I've woken up this morning with a banging headache and just a total feeling of pressure all down the left of my face. I've just started to get a runny nose too so convinced I've caught a cold. Seems massively unfair given the weathe!... 39 weeks tomorrow

0hCrepe · 24/08/2016 08:51

Women that really does sound like everything getting into gear, rest now while you can and keep us posted!
That sounds nasty balalalala. Hope it's just a cold and hope the headache doesn't get worse.

Annabrooke90 · 24/08/2016 19:13

Congratulations bella. How beautiful.

I cannot believe how many babies have arrived early on this group. Ive been on quite a few antenatal groups due to having 5 babies and none of them have ever had as many early arrivals as this one.

BellaGoth · 24/08/2016 20:15

It's weird, isn't it Anna? I'm posting on the August post natal thread and lots of the babies there arrived early, too. Maybe the heat is cooking them all quicker! Grin

Annabrooke90 · 25/08/2016 14:02

Very strange Bella, I can't even recall what the weather was like when I had Arabella haha I'd spent that many days in hospital before I had her because they were trying to stop labour that i didn't take much notice 😂

Womenareliketeabags · 25/08/2016 17:11

Still nothing happening here. Been with my best friend this afternoon which ended up as an afternoon of attempting to get my labour going including dancing, hula hooping, bumping down the stairs, some weird belly rubbing and some self taught acupressure courtesy of you tube. Will let you all know if it works!

Annarose2014 · 25/08/2016 17:46

Spent the afternoon having a trace cos of reduced movements. Basically no movements all day.

I was left waiting in the waiting room for half an hour and got so scared that of course then the baby got hiccups and started kicking like mad!

But they still insisted on doing the full work up regardless. I was embarrassingly tearful cos I had gotten so frightened waiting. One of the midwives said defensively "Well a 30 minute wait IS reasonable, you know" like I was a petulant child.

Anyway, baby was highly active with all my stress so they were perfectly satisfied! I'm very relieved of course, but incredibly drained. Can't wait for all this to be over! Confused

Womenareliketeabags · 25/08/2016 18:20

Oh Anna how awful but really glad baby was all ok. 30 minutes might not be a 'long' time to wait but when your anxious and concerned about your baby it feels like a lifetime. Try and relax and treat yourself this evening! CakeFlowersChocolate

0hCrepe · 25/08/2016 18:37

Anna when I went last week she started moving more too but I'm so glad I went and was able to listen to the heartbeat for a long time it kind of reset my anxiety levels.
Saw mw this morning who thinks baby is head down and starting to get engaged. Will start on the pineapple and nipple tweaking on 31st August!!

Annarose2014 · 25/08/2016 18:37

I think I was a bit naïve too, as I thought it'd be high priority and I'd get whisked in! Blush

Annarose2014 · 25/08/2016 18:40

Btw I have already started on the Raspberry Leaf capsules this week. Also did some hand expressing and to my suprise, got colostrum straight away! It took a good week last time, so I guess your boobs don't forget!

Womenareliketeabags · 26/08/2016 09:06

Can I have some tips on hand expressing. My mw has suggested I try in an attempt to get my amounts up before birth. I tried for 20mins the other day to get 0.25ml Angry how long do you do it for on each boob? How many times a day?

balalalala · 26/08/2016 13:57

How stressful for you Anna glad all is ok!

Annarose2014 · 26/08/2016 14:09

Absolutely do not worry about the amount! You got some up to the surface which is a success! That means you'll smell/taste like colostrum and hopefully baby will do the rest. The object isn't to have loads spurting out, it's to encourage the baby to latch on and go for it, as he'll get a little sweet hit straight away.

Google Image search will show you a lot of diagrams about hand placement etc but I wouldn't bother more than once a day, honestly. By the time baby comes your aim is just to have the colostrum beading on the surface with just a couple of squeezes. That's all the baby will need!

(And yes, it took 20 mins my first time too. My poor boobs!)

Womenareliketeabags · 27/08/2016 11:18

Thanks Anna, I seem to be on roughly the right path! My mw said to do it to try and get my supply up as I had very little with DS, probably due to having PCOS (hormones can affect your supply or something). She even mentioned freezing it if I was getting good amountsHmm. 0.25ml is not worth freezing.

How's everyone coping now we are reaching the end!?

Aceberry · 28/08/2016 22:11

My baby is breech at 37 weeks Sad. Booked in for ECV on Tuesday - anyone got any experience?

balalalala · 30/08/2016 08:08

Baby born at 12.08 this morning. Quite traumatic with 3rd degree tears, not sure how anyone does it a second time! Looks like a stay in hospital for a few days but baby doing well.

BellaGoth · 30/08/2016 09:09

Congratulations bala. Sorry you had a difficult time of it, hope you and baby are OK.

And try not to think about doing it again just yet!

0hCrepe · 30/08/2016 10:07

Oh congratulations! Sorry to hear about the tearing though. It's awful when you think it's all over and then you have to go through that fix up. I had a bad 2nd degree one last time.
I hope you heal quickly and get over the shock of it soon. There can be other options for next time after 3rd degree tear I think so don't worry about that for now. If you need to you can have a chance to go over what happened. Flowers Take care and well done! Did you have a girl of a boy btw?

Womenareliketeabags · 30/08/2016 14:03

Congratulations bala hopefully you and baby are still doing well and you have a speedy recovery.

Aceberry sorry I have no knowledge of ECV or breech babies but I hope all goes well for you and they turn around.
