I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

God, who would ask that??

Good luck Custard! Am slightly jealous as I went 10 days over last time and despair at the thought of 7 more weeks to go! I am literally praying to go earlier this time as its been definately tougher this time.

The baby feels HUGE already. Hpw can it only be 5lbs when it stretches top to bottom like this?? And I dont think its measuring bigger either as it was bang on at last appt and I doubt its changed dramatically.

I dont want to wear my over bump jeans any more as the actual fabric is too tight around the top of my bump. And some of my maternity tops are starting to show a bit of strain too. Id forgotten that happens. Im back in dresses and leggings again just to free the bump!

Anyone else suffering from Braxton Hicks? I dont tnink I got them at all last time (this is such an "opposite" pregnancy its bizarre) but they're really hurting now. I find I get them with any exertion. I got them in the supermarket yesterday. Brought tears to my eyes in the dairy aisle! I really struggled to get through the checkout.

Also, strangely, they are triggered by my toddler crying. I vividly remember that happening with (the much dreaded) Afterpains last time - just home from the hospital and baby cries and BOOM! I'm doubled over with pain. But didnt realise it can happen with BH too, and I am NOT impressed.

balalalala · 12/08/2016 14:19

Hope everyone is coping ok with the heat today? Good luck custard hope baby holds on a bit for you.

Im now 37+1 and very hot and uncomfortable. Been having quite a few BHs mostly since yesterday evening so hopefully that's my body starting to think about what it might need to do next. It's made me suddenly not want to go anywhere though and really clingy to my husband. The dog has also gone incredibly protective! I'm off to the theatre tonight and I'm really not looking forward to it!

Womenareliketeabags · 12/08/2016 18:05

I'm 36+5 today, got awful period type cramps this evening and I'm also suffering with the annoyance of bh's and am incredibly spotty for some reason! Probably hormone related!?

Annarose my DS was born 16 days overdue and I'm also dreading the thought that there could still be 5+ weeks to go

Had a phone call from the consultant midwife today and she is totally happy for me to have a home birth and says I have no increased risk after last birth etc.

Any news Custard!?

CustardOmlet · 12/08/2016 18:10

Bloody hell, assuming someone has GD is a bit bold!

I had loads of BH with DS1 from 18wks, so once labour started I was so use to them I was well advanced before realising it was not just BH.

This is going to be a long, slow, hot week! I'm still in a bay with three babies, and doesn't look like a side room will be free any time soon. Managed to get an hours nap this afternoon when the babies slept (the irony of sleeping while the baby sleeps!!!). DS2 has been very quiet, not doing his epic stretches but guess that's down to lack of space - my bump is noticeably smaller without less fluid. He's just had a round of hiccups though to that settled my mind!

CustardOmlet · 12/08/2016 18:24

Woman I am so spotty but just around my mouth, really strange! I think Iv gone past blossoming and now I'm developing the manky new mum look in preparation!!!

Womenareliketeabags · 12/08/2016 18:36

Custard most of my spots are on my upper lip and chin. I'm not blossoming either don't think I ever did just look like a large, oily, spotty, greasy, exhausted lump!

0hCrepe · 12/08/2016 18:53

I'm really tired too but mainly due to my old dog's night time shenanigans! She wakes up and cries to come upstairs so I'm half awake listening for that to catch her before she's had an accident but often she's already had accidents when I let her up. Very draining! Other than lack of sleep I'm ok really but whenever the baby doesn't move for a while I start to panic, but at other times she moves so much it's uncomfortable and that makes me panic too!!
Custard is it next Friday you'll be induced if nothing's happened yet then? If it starts naturally can you still not have a water birth? I wanted one with both DC but first time I was induced and second time it was already in use, I'm hoping it's third time lucky!

CustardOmlet · 12/08/2016 21:23

Even if I go into natural labour I can't have a water birth as the pool are in the birthing centre and I'm no longer classed as low risk.

How old is your dog ohcrepe? poor thing, my dog is only incontinent after surgery (pain relief reaction) but that's horrific enough!

0hCrepe · 12/08/2016 23:21

She's 13, pretty good for a boxer! She's happy and soppy just has a very weak bladder, drinks too much and is a bit unsteady bless her!

balalalala · 12/08/2016 23:56

Poor doggy! We can all sympathise with the weak bladder!

CustardOmlet · 13/08/2016 04:24

That is brilliant for a boxer, my boxer is 8 and although he is fit and healthy (only had surgery on eye ulcers) I worry we only have a couple of years left with him. He is the most fantastic animal around children, he's a true nanny dog, and really hope we have enough time with him so DS2 remembers him.

Tiny smear of blood this morning, and he's very low. MW had a listen and heartbeat good.

0hCrepe · 13/08/2016 05:09

Aw you've got a boxer too! They are sweethearts aren't they. I've been awake before she started crying so have been and fetched her up. No accidents!
Sounds like things might be happening with your baby boy! Keep us posted!

Womenareliketeabags · 13/08/2016 17:22

How's everyone today?

I've been having period type pains and contractions (BH!?) on and off since yesterday afternoon. It's probably nothing and I won't go into labour for weeks but I really don't want to go out and I'm meant to be going to an engagement party tonight of someone I used to be close to. Would I be awful to make my apologies?

Also making a hot curry for tea tonight in the hopes it is real. Grin

user1471105143 · 13/08/2016 17:34

Hi there everyone,

I'm hoping to post a bit more and who knows get a moment to update this catchy username. I'm due on the 16th sept (boy) 35 weeks today. Very big too so I don't feel so alone when I hear of others with big bumps

Very strange to think there will be a second baby born by next week too

All starting to feel very real

0hCrepe · 13/08/2016 18:07

Women you are definitely allowed to call a rain check!
With dd I had loads of BH for weeks before but they would peter off once I was active. If yours are continuing they could be the start of something!!

CustardOmlet · 13/08/2016 18:13

BH are a nightmare, I got very complacent in my last pregnancy I had them so often and missed most of my labour!

I'm going home tonight, the tightening this morning was BH and the blood is not getting any heavier so they arn't worried. I've got antibiotics and got to check my temperature constantly, blood test on Tuesday and induction booked for Friday. First signs of possible labour and I have to go in (no waiting for the 5min gap) so could end up going in on BH but need monitoring.

user1471105143 · 13/08/2016 18:37

Good luck custard, good to be going home but a pain with the constant temps

What do BH feel like? I've had a few episodes of a sort of tight tummy but not pain as such. The baby does give quite big pushes which I feel down below and can stop me walking for a second or two

MrsCeee · 13/08/2016 18:43

Great news, Custard. At least you can really relax and be in familiar surroundings at home.

Anna I'm also having an "opposite pregnancy" to my first one. I've been a lot more sick in general and just feel so rough whereas with DS I could quite easily forget I was pregnant half the time (only that never happened because I was too excited and had a bunch of apps I checked daily etc).

Welcome, new lady!

Graciesmug04 · 13/08/2016 19:22

Hi Mrs Ceee,

I now have a less robotic sounding user name. I am rubbish at navigating around here but getting there. I sent you a pm and hoping to join the fb page. This is my second pregnancy, first one was easier no ds to look after, much harder with another child. No rest for the wicked

CustardOmlet · 14/08/2016 06:27

Gracies BH feel like tightening all across your womb, and your whole bump will often go rock solid (such a strange sensation) it's no so much painful, more uncomfortable a bit like cramp. Iv had them all night again, and my boobs are leaking everywhere (I'll have to send DH to buy nipple pads!) but it is lovely to me back in my own comfort with DH and DS. Also complete forgot neighbours were having a party last night so managed to pop round there for 15mins before going to bed!

Graciesmug04 · 14/08/2016 09:49

Ah custard in that case I think I've been have bh - wasn't aware of them in pregnancy 1 at all but yes to a v v v tight tum all of a sudden. Doesn't happen lots. Does anyone else feel v uncomfy after eating dinner - like suddenly there's not an inch of room in there, that's when I get a sudden lower tummy pain - need to pull out my trousers and knickers to make space. Bet you were glad to be in your own bed again. Hospital is hot and noisy. A party even for 15 mins sounds fun

CustardOmlet · 15/08/2016 08:37

Baby still in situ, having contractions on/off all night which is just getting annoying! I expect another nice quiet day, followed by a night of torture, this boy is killing me!

Graciesmug04 · 15/08/2016 11:03

Oh no!! It sounds like it's going to be a long week for you until Friday unless things get going faster...

Bobbycatz · 15/08/2016 19:39

Thinking of you Custard hope things progress smoothly.

Gracie I get that with food, sometimes I'm so hungry but just can't physically fit it in, and when I do overdo it I get punished with heartburn!

Womenareliketeabags · 15/08/2016 21:32

Spent the morning rearranging and cleaning every inch of my living room

Spent the evening painting my kitchen

Nesting much!?
