Thanks for the group hgl! I've requested to join. There's the word May in my name.

OohMavis · 23/04/2016 05:43

I had my scan yesterday and we're having another little girl who will join DD (2) and DS (5). I am overjoyed. We'd have been so thrilled either way and another little girl will be wonderful, I really can't wait. Can't stop smiling!

OohMavis · 23/04/2016 05:45

^ that's a great idea fizzy

MrsZumbaDancer · 23/04/2016 06:32

If it's changed to secret normally one person becomes friends with you on fb (page admin) then they can add you as you wouldn't be able to search for it or be added randomly to a group (we did this for my DS fb birth group anyway and I know that's totally secret Smile

MrsSantaClause · 23/04/2016 08:37

Have been awol for a bit with one thing or another, just done a massive catch up! Really pleased about all the good news everyone has had, and the 4d scan looks amazing!

I'd like to join the Fb group too if that's ok, I'm still in one from when ds was born, and I love it. Let me know what I need to do..

We seem to be having a bit of bad luck at the moment-thankfully not baby related! We bought Dd a second hand phone for her bday (13) and the previous owner hasn't removed it from his iCloud account, and isn't responding to messages etc, so it's looking like we've got to buy her another one. Then I lost my wedding rings-have looked absolutely everywhere, the Hoover, bins, sofa. No luck Sad, and now ds has broken his hudl... I know these are all third world problems but so frustrating when things go wrong.

I've also been referred for an urgent breast scan as found a lump in my boob, which I'm hoping is just down to pregnancy or something else, so trying not to panic about that Confused

Almost 25 weeks here, time does seem to be flying for me! Have started nesting already, decided that I needed to revamp ds' bunk beds as he's in the ones the older kids had originally 10 years ago and they were covered in peeling stickers etc, so have sanded and painted one bed, decided to repaint his windowsill as it had chips in it, and there are marks on his walls so am painting that today, before swapping out the other bunk so I can sand and paint that! Then I just need to put the sides back on the cotbed and build the crib Grin

MrsSantaClause · 23/04/2016 08:39

Ooh I've requested to join the group from the link-my name is Esther Parkinson.

PickleBot · 23/04/2016 09:46

I can't believe I'm 26 weeks today! This weekend is decorating getting done weekend, it WILL be finished by Sunday evening! I'm fed up with baby crap being piled up everywhere because DS is still in the room that will become the nursery. I can't put it in DS's new room as that's half way through being decorated. This weekend it will get sorted. I even have Lego to bribe DS into cooperation with!

Fizzyboo · 23/04/2016 10:12

Ooh I need to finish decorating too... We did one room over Easter, but then just sort of tailed off... Still have all the time out, really must carry on!

Santa that sounds like no fun! The boob business is no doubt down to some pregnancy business, try not to worry!

Talking of trying not to worry, I thought I was probably safe to read up on the right facing aortic arch, but yet again google, it seems I am not.
Freaked myself out last night reading about how it can be linked with a deletion of a bit of chromosome causing all sorts from learning disabilities to facial disfigurements!! What?!! The professor never mentioned that bit! DH says we'll be OK and deal with whatever hand we're dealt, and we will, but I'm terrified again!!
The specialist nurse said I could email her with any questions, I thought I was good with the info till I googled, I bet they hate google too... Maybe I'll craft a little email over the weekend just to see if I've misunderstood anything...

hgleslie89 · 23/04/2016 10:48

Right, I'll change the group back to secret. Anyone who wants to join can send me a friend request (I'm Harriet Leslie, my picture is a Powerpuff Girl) and I'll add you to the group. Feel free to delete me afterwards, I won't be offended!

Definitely feeling pregnant now. I'm showing pretty obviously and starting to get back and pelvic pain. Not sleeping so well either, I guess this is just preparation for the next few years Confused

Dileas29 · 23/04/2016 16:10

Hi all hope you are well, not pregnancy related but we had a bit of a dramatic time with DD on Wednesday she fell and split her chin open off the concrete and needed butterfly stitches. Really upsetting to see her so upset and the nurse could hardly make out what I was saying as I was a crying hormonal mess. She's only two and just wish I could've stopped it from happening but there was nothing I could do. every run, step and jump she takes now I am trying to prevent accidents happening which is ridiculous if only you could wrap them in bubble wrap!

It was my birthday yesterday and I took my first days holiday this year (trying to save holidays for after baby comes) I think after the emotional roller coaster of the week I am now coming down with the flu how typical! And DH has booked an overnight stay for us tomorrow all I want is sleep and paracetamol waah sorry to moan!

25 +1 and baby kicking away nicely so that's good

FourForYouGlenCoco · 23/04/2016 18:22

Welcome longtime! Good to have you here, glad you're not finding it too hard at the minute.
Fizzy not a huge amount of difference between CLC and MLC - you will still have all your normal appts, but will just probably have a couple of extra meetings with a consultant as well. They won't be at the birth or anything provided all goes smoothly, but it does mean you'll have to fine birth on delivery suite rather than the midwife led unit. And you might be kept in a bit longer than usual so a paediatrician can check your little one over once she's born and keep an eye on her if they feel they need to. Oh and stay off google!! You never get a balanced view, only the worst case scenario. Hopefully the nurse puts your mind at ease.
Santa that all sounds so frustrating. But well done you on getting all that decorating done, wow! Fingers crossed the boob is nothing to worry about - just a rogue milk duct or something. Let us know how the scan goes.
Dileas you poor thing. DD fell down some stairs in a food court at about the same age and split her eyebrow, she had to have it glued and I was absolutely devastated. She also went over on our garden path and took all the skin off her fingers, she still has scars. It's so hard not to overprotect them afterwards but it's a rite of passage and they all do it - DD is quite impressed with her scars now, she thinks she's well 'ard Grin
Happy birthday for yesterday! Hope the flu clears off and you have a lovely time away - one of those where the thought is horrible but you'll probably enjoy it once you're there.

All well here, still no moving date, but as far as we know things are still on track so it shouldn't be too long. We are packing up and whatnot so it's starting to feel real! 26+1 today and pelvic pain has really kicked in, it's all in my back at the mo. Turning over in bed is agony. I'm hoping it doesn't get much worse or it won't be a fun few months! But all going well otherwise so can't complain too much.

quitecrunchy · 23/04/2016 21:27

Hi longtime, glad to have you with us
Congrats on your wee girl mavis!
Thanks for setting up the fb group hg
Mrssanta hope you get your scan soon. No doubt it's just the hormones at work but good they're checking it out.
Happy birthday dileas
Pickle hope your decorating efforts today have gone better than mine! After procrastinating all morning pottering about the house I eventually got round to some wallpaper stripping but only did a couple of hours. DH has come down with something and I'm feeling lazy so will need to readjust my timescale for getting our bedroom decorated! It's a good job that DH has taken charge of the plans for the baby's room (he has a 'Vision' for it) because at this rate it'll not be getting done til I'm too big to be much use.

Fizzyboo · 23/04/2016 22:25

Aww dileas, that doesn't sound like a fun birthday present! Hope she and you are feeling better now. Maybe your flu symptoms are just your body forcing you into a couple of duvet days to chill for a bit.

Four fingers crossed you get to move soon! Be so nice to get into the new place and have some time to settle in before bubs makes an appearance!
And you're quite right about google, I don't know why I keep going there!! I said I'm gonna need a net nanny lock down on me! I've had some friends and fam give me a right talking to today about it, my DH's no nonsense grandmother was quite wonderful. She said there's no point in worrying, whatever the outcome is, it is what it is. Worrying won't change a godamn thing, and not to allow my mind to even entertain those 'what if' thoughts. That I saw the lady who literally wrote the book on it and to listen to her and nothing else. She's a wise old bird.

So, to be all baby positive, we went on a humongous shopping binge for her today. Got sterilisers, warmers, bouncy chairs, Angel care vid monitor and sensor mat, baby carrier, toys and a whole load of adorable clothes from m&s, there is tons! Think we only need the car seat and crib/cot/co sleeper (can't decide which) and we're pretty much there I think!

Colabottle10 · 24/04/2016 09:00

Hi all,
I can't keep up with this thread! How's everyone doing? I've had a bad few days, mainly I think because I've been really busy and am shattered and it's making the sickness MUCH worse. Had an upset tummy in the night too which was a bit unpleasant.
Anyone else suffering with round ligament pain? Mine's really kicked in this week too. I'm 23+5 now and have my GTT on Friday, which I'm dreading as not eating is a total bringer oner of throwing up!

Sophia1984 · 24/04/2016 10:38

Colabottle I have what I think is round ligament pain - like a stitch down the sides of my bump when I'm walking. Not fun! Wearing a support belt is helping a bit.

Fizzyboo · 24/04/2016 10:38

Hey Cola, sorry to hear you're feeling rough, hope it passes soon! Take some time to rest if you can.
I'm suffering from round ligament pain, Especially when walking. I have to waddle along like an old lady, coz its 10 times worse if I go at a pace!
I too have a GTT test in 2.5 weeks, when I'll be 2 days short of 28 weeks. Absolutely not looking forward to it. Let me know how it goes! I intend to try and at least have a chance to spend 2 hours reading a book I've been meaning to start for ages, might as well use the time constructively eh?!

PickleBot · 24/04/2016 10:54

I've got my GTT in a couple of weeks too, I've already done one this pegnancy and I hated it. I hate lucazae (yeah totes can't spell it) with a passion.

After the decorating yesterday my bum was killing me, like really bad cramp deep in both ass cheeks. I could hardly walk! Really need to get to the Dr's.

Cola sorry you are having such a tough time. Sometimes pregnancy sucks!

Hello ladies, happy sunday :)

lily my last day was nice thanks, got some lovely Bamford gifts for both me and the babe and had tea and cake! Feels a bit odd now being in-between things, but looking forward to a week back at my parents catching up with everyone then I have a couple of days a week freelance lined up for May which will be fun.

Coco great everything is moving forwards with your move, we are also aiming on the end of May for ours, so starting to think about what needs to be sorted. Def getting in a removals company this time as the thought of lifting and unpacking fills me with dread! Hope you get a date locked in soon. I'm also still suffering with the boring back pain, so am with you....my foam roller has become my best friend!

pickle well done on the decorating and sorry you've got bum ache today!

fizzy wow good work on all the purchasing, I feel so disorganised in comparison as really haven't bought anything yet apart from a few tinchy clothes. Need to start thinking about it now I have a bit more time on my hands. Have you looked at the BabyBay co-cleeper? This is the one we are going for and then the MoKee cot for the nursery en.mokee.eu/cots.html?SID=h0mg2q9mlotr2lvjsphgtgt990 Mokee also do gorgeous moses baskets, but I am preferring the co-sleeping idea!

What's this GTT thing everyone is talking about?! Do we all have this?

Fizzyboo · 24/04/2016 12:18

Yes bear, I totally prefer the idea of the co sleeper over Moses basket, even if it just saves me sitting up in the night to check on them. I much prefer the crib like open ones too rather than the next 2 me style fabric ones too.

The GTT is a glucose tolerance test, nope not everyone has them, only if for one reason or another, you've been flagged as higher risk for gestational diabetes. I am because at booking, my bmi just touched 30 Blush if I'd have weighed 1lb less I wouldn't have to have it, but hey ho, better safe than sorry I guess!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 24/04/2016 16:28

fizzy and pickle well done on the buying and decorating! Sounds like you are getting organised.

cola sorry to hear sickness is still plaguing you! Have you been back to the GP at all?

I'm suffering with swollen ankles and feet now at the end of the day. I'm trying to up my water intake as its apparently common if you are not drinking enough. My blood pressure was fine last week and now headaches - always worrying about preeclampsia! Still an excuse to put my feet up a bit more.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 24/04/2016 16:30

Sorry and no headaches!

plimsolls · 24/04/2016 17:00

I love checking back in and seeing lots of new posts (and sorry if I miss a few).

Sorry to hear you're still having a rough time cola. Does this mean your baby will be really easy to make up for it?

Well done to everyone who's been buying and decorating! I'm impressed.

Sleep-wise, I think a friend is going to lend me her Chico Next 2 Me and then I'm also going to get a MoKee cot bearhuggy I saw it on The Uphill and liked it). I do love their wool nest baskets though!

I had a GTT two weeks ago. They booked me in early (19 weeks) as my sugars were v high on the Booking In appt tests. I was really dreading it (I did hate the fasting to be honest) but I found the two hour bit to be alright, I had a new book on my kindle and that was alright. My tip would be to take a cushion or something similar- you're not allowed to go anywhere or move around much during the wait and at my hospital they only had hard plastic chairs to sit on.

Do I remember a few of you posting a couple of weeks ago about your babies going quiet? I'm 22 weeks today and have hardly felt anything the last few days. Had felt much more movement in the days before that. It's pretty disconcerting. On Thursday, there was a massive shift-y type feeling and my belly pulsated (in time with my heartbeat I think) for about a minute. I had a MW appt and asked her about it- she said she didn't know, maybe it was the cord but prob nothing to worry about. So- I'm hoping the big shifting feeling was the baby massively changing position and that's also why I can't really feel any movements st the moment. It's horrible though. I'm looking forward to being further on when the movements are more reliable....

MrsSantaClause · 24/04/2016 20:01

Anyone else really suffering with restless legs in the evenings? It's like as soon as I sit down to relax, they go mad and I have to keep moving them. So annoying! Luckily they don't bother me when I go to bed though, so that's good. I'd just like to be able to relax on the sofa for a bit before I go to bed! Also a bit of a weird one-do anyone else's pubes keep getting caught? I think it's cause I'm developing new creases because of my increasing size, but they just seem to be getting trapped all the time Confused

Scan date came through for 3rd may, antibiotics seem to be doing the trick as its getting smaller so fingers crossed it is just one of those things. Will let you know when I get the results Smile

bexh83 · 24/04/2016 20:16

Hi longtime - welcome!

Went to the NCT sale this weekend and picked up a few bits and pieces...inluding a travle cot for my mums.... which i opened up properly later and it was yukky! like a foisty old tent... got my best maate to take it to the tip straight away to avoid OH thinking I had a screw loose buying one so early!

MrsSanta - im restless - cant keep my clothes on past 9pm - had to behave myself last night when we had friends round Grin

plimsolls · 24/04/2016 20:25

santa I missed your post about your breast scan and got very confused about what was getting smaller. That must be a relief to see the anti-bs are having an effect. Hopefully the scan should confirm it.

I know what you mean about the pubes. I think also the whole "pregnancy hair" thing applies all over which contributes as well as the increasing size.

beckstar that's such a shame about the travel cot... They shouldn't have sold it to you like that!
