hg I'd send you a PM with my name as I'm fairly unique, but I'm on the app and no idea how to do it on here!

PickleBot · 21/04/2016 22:37

Fb group sounds good if it's private. I wouldn't mind joining.

Hope everyones OK. Going to have to do a fair bit of reading to catch up

ToElleWithIt · 22/04/2016 08:12

fizzy what a relief! I'm so glad that it was good news

Lovely pics bearhuggy I'm going to go with boy

Welcome back peardrop sorry that baby has given you a few frights. a girll! Lovely.

I'd be on for a Facebook group.

Had appointment yesterday. Baby was stargazing. I know it's ages away and there's loads of time to turn, but I would rather not have another OP labour. Otherwise all hunky dory. Off to Scotland for a friend's wedding this weekend. Should be fun, though not as much fun as it would be if I could drink! I do miss it at weddings. It' a long day.

hgleslie89 · 22/04/2016 13:26

Ok, here's a link to the group: m.facebook.com/groups/228946610803779 Let me know any problems accessing it and I'll look at the privacy settings when I get home (doing this on my phone during my lunch break).

plimsolls · 22/04/2016 13:43

I get this when I click on the link. Not sure if it's me/my phone or the group settings though!

I got that too plimsolls

Christinedonna · 22/04/2016 14:00

Me too

hgleslie89 · 22/04/2016 14:03

Right, I've changed it from secret to private. Hopefully that'll sort it.

Belager · 22/04/2016 14:15

That's fixed it hg I've joined. I tend to be chattier on FB as my phone doesn't like loading mums net for some reason.

Been laying low with a gastric bug this week. Mini me seems to love it though, getting really strong kicks as I throw up!

lilygirl81 · 22/04/2016 14:40

Managed to join now, thanks!

Longtimelistener · 22/04/2016 14:46

Hi Ladies, hope none of you mind me joining this late? I've been following the thread on and off for a while, but never found a minute to join..
I'm 24w+5, expecting DS2 on August 7th. Touch wood, I've had a much easier time of it this time around. I'm under consultant care due to my age (I'm 42, which must make me the oldest mum on this threadBlush), but until recently I've been almost forgetting I'm pregnant I feel so normal. Possibly because I have my hands full with my 2 year old son and also because we're in the process of selling up and moving out of my home town to somewhere completely new and unknown (Hampshire / Wiltshire borders). Starting to feel it now with what feels like a massive bump and various little aches and pains creeping in..

Looking forward to getting to know you all Smile

lilygirl81 · 22/04/2016 16:43

Hi longtime nice to have you with us, and great that you have had a decent time so far.

plimsolls · 22/04/2016 17:39

Hi longtime Welcome! Glad to hear all has gone smoothly so far.

Hope you're feeling alright belager and that the sickness is passing.

lily I hope your boss isn't making you feel too bad. Your baby and your health are the most important things.

I met my new midwife today- she was lovely and really reassuring, capable, and pro-active. She made both me and OH feel really like we are in safe hands. She said I could probably have a home birth if I want, but I don't want one. If nothing else, I think I like the rite of passage of going to hospital in labour, and then excitedly bringing the baby home later (all being well). At St Thomas' , they use a 'home from home' birthing centre in the first instance and then you can transfer to a more medical ward if you need to. I'm happy with that as a plan!

Thanks for getting the facebook group sorted hgl. I'm not going to join just yet as I need to get my head round how the privacy stuff works. Just to be clear- it's not you guys I'm trying to stay private from! There is (at least!) one person IRL who has bad intentions and I'm paranoid about them connecting my facebook account to my alias on here and then reading what I post here (on other threads). I'm sure there's a solution though!

Fizzyboo · 22/04/2016 17:58

Well, got the call today to say I'm going over to be consultant led from now on, and weirdly, even though I thought that would be poop, I'm actually pretty pleased about it now. I'm happy to be seen as often as possible now! They've booked me in for a bonus scan in 4 weeks, the midway point before I'm double checked over in London again.
Does it mean the consultant will be there at the birth too? I need to do some reading up on the differences of CLC & MLC.

Also, my bosses boss asked to see me today (I work from home and only pop in once a week) and I got that naughty girl guilt that I was in for some trouble or that they were going to mess me about with my mat leave etc, but she wanted to know all about my terrifying week and all the scans, then told me she's expecting too, a month and a bit after me! Bloody great news as also she'll be making sure everything gets done by the book now and hopefully make my work life a lot easier!!

I've been following but not posted for a while (crazy busy at home/work!)

I would join the Fb group of it was secret but if it's private I'll probs just stay on here. There's still a few things other people can see when it's private and not mentioning my pregnancy on fb Smile

lilygirl81 · 22/04/2016 20:51

Fizzy that's good that you now know you are going to be consultant led. Not sure if they are actually there at the birth or if it's just their team, but you will be in excellent hands. I know what you mean about getting a call like that at work, always makes you panic, but what great news!

I spent all morning today doing notes on all my cases and emailing them to my team, not a word from my boss at all, not even to say thanks!

PickleBot · 22/04/2016 21:29

It's hard to find a secret group, we can change it to secret once everyone is in.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 22/04/2016 21:34

I'm the same for Facebook, I'm super paranoid about it as I'm a teacher, so have to be really careful. What's the difference between secret and private groups?

Fizzyboo · 22/04/2016 22:03

A secret group means only its members can see it. It's not searchable to even come up as a listed group, private or not, to a non member. No one knows you're in it, posts never appear in others timelines who are not in the group, it's totally shhh.. But you can only be invited by invite on fb, you couldnt follow a link to see it. Not that I'm in a secret crazy cat lady group or anything...

Private groups means that other people could search the name of the group and find it, see that you are in it, but not see any of the posts contained in it, nor do the posts show on your timeline..

Public, as obv, is open to all...

Fizzyboo · 22/04/2016 22:08

And Lily, I think I've just got a guilty conscience ha! I always think I'm going to be in trouble! (I'm really good at my job though!) such a relief! But no, no matter what I do either, I never get a thanks or anything... Hard coming from my old job where I constantly had my ego stroked recognition.
Never mind, it's the price I pay to work from home!! Hope things are easing now at work for you... I am on countdown to maternity leave!!!

OwlinaTree · 22/04/2016 22:22

Welcome longtime, I've got a 2 yo as well so I know it's non stop! I'm on the older side at 38, but so far, so good.

Longtimelistener · 22/04/2016 23:20

Thanks for the lovely welcome all :)

Fizzy From memory the consultant team only appeared for DS1's birth as part of their normal rounds. I went in to be induced at 7.30am, got moved to Delivery in the evening and didn't see the consultants until their 10.00 rounds the next day (I think they were involved in some of the decision making in the background though). They then came back for the last stage as I had a bit of a complicated delivery in the end.

I've not mentioned my pregnancy on fb yet, so might not join for a while if it's not secret.

Fizzyboo · 22/04/2016 23:37

Ah thanks longtime and welcome! It's good to know what to expect now I've swapped over...
Not looking forward to the GTT test looming on the horizon either Confused

As for the Facebook group, can we switch it to secret now there are folks in it, and then anyone else who would want to join, but in complete secrecy, can pm hg with their name to be sent an invite via fb or something?
