Alfie I've had some bad attacks of trapped wind! Yesterday was so bad I was rolling around on the floor. It was up high across my belly and hurt so much for about 40 mins. I thought the worst was happening......

Found old mumsnet threads that suggested getting on all fours with forearms resting on floor and bum in air.....I don't know if that was what did it but gave it a go anyway!
Also saw a recommendation for Rennies with Deflatine (spelling?!) so I'm going to get some of those.

squigglepants · 13/03/2016 22:35

Rennie Deflatine was my best friend in my first pregnancy. This time round the wind isn't so much trapped but definitely massively increased. Great loud burps at really embarrassing times Blush

I finally found a house, after two months of looking, on Friday. Was starting to panic as need to move in three weeks! The new place is perfect though and well worth waiting for. I get the keys the day after my 20 weeks scan ......... on April 1st. Hope the estate agents are not practical jokers!!

quitecrunchy · 13/03/2016 22:51

Congratulations Suzie or your engagement and Squiggle on your new house! Exciting times!

ToElleWithIt · 14/03/2016 07:49

Congratulations suzie {We moved house, got married and had DS1 in a year - manic, but fun}

Yay squiggles Glad you found the perfect house.

My skin which is usually pretty rubbish has, same as last time, cleared up totally. Funny how hormones work. If I had to choose though I'd rather it was lovely and clear when I'm not pregnant rather than just when I am! 19 weeks today!

Suziesome1 · 14/03/2016 09:40

Thanks everyone, kinda getting used to the idea now, I've always kinda been anti-marriage before the baby, we went for a walk round the canal, we went there on our first date many moons ago, and he asked on a bridge, even had a ring, I suppose it was romantic but I was a bit shocked and swore a lot.... Sweetness and light me!

Basketofwool · 14/03/2016 09:47

Happy Monday everyone! Congrats suzie, now you get to wedding plan and baby plan - so much fun!

There must be lots of scans this week as we start to hit the 20 week mark?

I had mine on Saturday and everything looked good, managed to stay Team Yellow as well! We've been asked to go back for another scan at 28 weeks because they want to check the baby's kidneys as they were a bit bigger than average. (Have googled and its something called renal pelvic dilatation I think? They usually re-scan it they're over 7mm, ours were 5.6mm so should be fine but sonographer wanted to be on the safe side. Still made me worry nonetheless!) Just trying to focus on the fact we will get to see baby again which will be nice.

It seems mad that we have a scan at 20 weeks and then its just a long wait until baby is finally born at 40 weeks!

Fizzyboo · 14/03/2016 10:08

Ahh congrats suzie! How lovely. I've been married since I was 18 (I'm now 34) we have always loved being hitched, never thought we'd have babies though until, well, now!

I've got my scan next Wednesday, I can't wait! I'm always blown away when I see evidence of babes in there! Been filling the time (other than work) with extreme sort outs of the house, it would appear I'm some sort of hoarder the amount of stuff I've found! Seriously time for a large amount of crap to go now!! Got a lovely bunch of friends coming over at the end of the month to strip wallpaper and paint the place, bless them.
After thinking I could prob get away with just stretchy skirts and things clothes wise, my leggings cutting me in half the other day said otherwise, so I ordered a bunch of stuff from Dorothy Perkins maternity range online as they were having a sale Grin

VivaHate · 14/03/2016 10:37

Hi all, I've not posted on here much but I read the thread daily. Had a bit of a fright the other day as the community midwife couldn't hear the heartbeat so sent us straight to hospital. I've really held myself back so far- my usually non emotional DH was the tear-shedder at the 12 week scan - but I got very tearful fearing the worse. Anyway, they picked up the heartbeat immediately but couldn't record the BPM as baby kept wriggling away!

A big relief but for my own peace of mind we decided to book a private scan just to make sure baby was the right size etc...as a bonus it was booked for Mother's Day and we would also find out the gender. Or so we thought! Baby refused to show us, despite the sonographer sending us out for food and rescanning us a couple of hours later, deciding instead to sleep soundly. The company very kindly said they would rescan us again a week later for nothing. Anyway after a lot of moving around, a bit of prodding, our baby consented to reveal his junk Grin and we can't wait to meet our little boy. 18+4 today.

Attached is the 3d scan from last week and scans from yday- the second one shows him taking a big gulp of "delicious" amniotic fluid.

Love hearing how everyone's pregnancy is progressing Smile

Suziesome1 · 14/03/2016 10:58

Wowzers! Sorry for your scare, but your pics are amazing! Congratulations on your baby boy!

Mslg · 14/03/2016 11:57

Congratulations Suzie Grin
My DP proposed to me 3 days before I got my BFP 😂 So now the baby has completely stolen the weddings thunder and people assume we knew I was pregnant so had a shotgun engagement. Oh well, dgaf what other people think! 😁
Great news on the house Squiggle! We're waiting to hear about a much bigger place we have our eye on to move into. Currently renting at the minute and have a double and 2 singles you can't swing a cat in.

Dileas not so worried about the GBS anymore. I'm happy it showed up on a test to be honest, I would rather know I had it for sure. Just means they will monitor me now which is also good.

Lovely scan pics Viva! My scan is on Friday at 4.30pm. Not as anxious as I was for the 12 week. I've been feeling stronger movements as the days go by. Like bubbles/popcorn popping? DP is always rushing over with his hand out to feel them, bless him and he's hoping he'll be able to feel them soon as well. He's been very cute lately going off and buying bits and bobs for the baby by himself. Albeit one was a baby gro of his football team but we'll let that slide! We have very different opinions on finding out the sex on Friday, I want to jeep it a surprise, he wants to find out. I think I'll stick to my guns though. He won't be the one in labour!! Grin

19 +2 today! Time is flying!

lilygirl81 · 14/03/2016 12:14

Just heard DH is being let go at the end of the month, complete nightmare. I e just spent an hour trying to find things for him to apply for, but there are no part time roles, and hardly any full time. I can see the next few weeks being stressful, and using up our maternity leave savings.

Mslg · 14/03/2016 12:17

Oh no Lily is it a redundancy situation? Maybe he will get a severance payment? Hopefully he will enable to line something up quickly. What shit news Flowers

lilygirl81 · 14/03/2016 12:29

Msg sadly not, he has been on a rolling contract while budgets were sorted, but given the impression it was going to carry on indefinitely. So no severance or anything at all, probably also won't be able to get paternity leave now.

MrsSantaClause · 14/03/2016 12:40

Congrats suzie and squiggle!! Great news for you both!

Here's my 19 week bump, still not feeling any movement, this baby is really a tease!! I love feeling the kicks!

Gosh lily, that's really shit, hope he finds something else to move onto quickly! X

August 2016 number 4 - bumps popping and scans happening, we actually have babies!
FourForYouGlenCoco · 14/03/2016 12:50

Oh no lily so sorry, what crap timing Sad really hope he can work something out quickly. You just don't need the extra stress!
Suzie aw that sounds like a lovely proposal!! What a sweetie your DF (!) is. When me and DH were first engaged I couldn't keep my eyes off my ring finger, took me weeks to get used to it! Also loved wedding planning, lots of exciting times ahead for you Grin
Basket well done on staying Team Yellow, serious willpower there! And try not to worry about baby's kidneys, it sounds like s/he is perfectly within normal range and sonographer is just erring on the side of caution. Know what you mean about the wait, crazy that the next time most of us see baby will be when they're born!
Viva fab scan pics, so clear! Congrats on your wee boy Smile glad he finally let you get a peek!
Mslg popcorn popping sounds like baby alright! Lovely to feel movements. Fwiw I started feeling them with DD about 18 weeks and I think DH felt them from about 21 weeks so it shouldn't be long for your DP!

Lots of movements here too, this baby is so active! Especially at night, sadly Confused as soon as I get into bed I get kicked like crazy and it goes on for ages! Think I'm going to have a little night owl on my hands.
Other exciting (to me) news is that someone has FINALLY offered on our house - it's been on the market 5 weeks, which is a long time for round here. It's felt like forever! It's a cash buyer too and we have our mortgage offer sorted already so theoretically we could be moving very soon! I'm so excited. Want to be moved in ASAP so I can transfer midwife care in plenty of time and get my homebirth planned for the new place. Keeping everything crossed all runs smoothly!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 14/03/2016 12:51

Wow MrsSC, cross post - amazing bump!! Maybe you have an anterior placenta?! You are definitely blooming!

bearhuggy · 14/03/2016 13:06

Hello ladies and bumps,

Hope you all had lovely weekends.

Lily sorry to hear about your husbands job, at least you have time before babe arrives to get something else in place and can make a plan.

clara I had an email response back from Homerton and they said they would reply within 2 weeks...typical!! Will ask midwife on Fri though and see what he says about the tour.

CONGRATS suzie what nice news :)

Lovely scan and bump pics all round! basket try not to worry about the kidneys, seem's they are doing an extra scan for precautions which is great and hopefully they will continue below the range for concern.

I had my scan this morning and all is well with the wriggly babe! Got some amazingly clear views, saw it kicking around, putting hands behind head and doing a massive yawn which was pretty incredible! Measurements and organs all fine. We are still team yellow...I thought it was a girl at first then I am sure I saw boys bits at one point but who knows, it's still all up in the air! Just delighted its healthy and well. Picture's attached.

Jw35 · 14/03/2016 13:51

Sorry Lily that's so gutting! Fab scan pics Viva! Congrats on all the scans in so jealous! I've still got another week to wait! 20+2 today, I've got loads of movement now everyday which is lovely and reassuring. I'm getting more tired now, definite bump and getting up early for the toilet. It's hard work with a toddler as I can't just laze about. With my last 2 pregnancies I've had pregnancy pica where I've had cravings for shoe polish and other similar things...looks like it's coming back! Gutted! I get a kind of metallic Taste then crave the smell of shoe polish it so weird. Last pregnancy I had a tin of it in my bag and loads of extra strong mints (I got through 6 packs a day by the end)!
These were my last pregnancy cravings: smell of wet plasterboard, shoe polish, pine toilet bleach, chalky textures like extra strong mints, the smell of the Hoover and dust, the taste of shower water and bath sponges! Wish I had normal cravings! Anyone else having cravings yet?

Fizzyboo · 14/03/2016 15:29

Ooh viva & huggy what gorgeous scans! Can't wait for mine!!

Lily big hugs, that's utter pants sending all the good vibes for something better! A few years ago my husband got made redundant from his job as a cinema projectionist, we thought it was the worst thing possible. But very quickly he landed his dream job in the proper film world and now we see it as the best thing that could have happened to him as otherwise he'd have stayed forever. Perhaps something bigger and way better is coming!

hgleslie89 · 14/03/2016 15:57

Hugs lily, that really sucks.

viva and bear great scans! And amazing bump mrs!

We're thinking about getting a new car as our 10 year old Fiesta is starting to make some concerning noises and will probably need a lot of tlc to pass its next MOT. Any recommendations for baby friendly cars? We're thinking 5 doors, max 5 or so years old and plenty of boot space for a pram. We don't want to get a car seat until we've decided on the new car and I don't want to be doing a test drive when I'm the size of a small planet.

bearhuggy · 14/03/2016 16:16

jw lolling at your cravings!! I take it you don't eat those things, just smell them?! Only cravings I have had so far is for citrus (lots of grapefruits, blood oranges and lime sodas) and asian salads with soy, ginger, lime and chilli dressing..so nothing too extreme...yet!

leslie really not sure about cars Confused, we are getting a bigger Audi (will check model) as the one we have now is more sporty and although has a roomy boot, we fancy some more space in the back seat area. A friend who is expecting just got the Audi Q3 which she was recommending.

coco completely missed your post about the offer on your house, such great news, you must be so pleased! Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for you.

strandedabroad · 14/03/2016 18:58

Santa you look amazing!! Where is your dress from?
Congrats on all the scan and good news! And Suzie that's so lovely Smile

Lily hugs, that's not the best timing but keep looking and hopefully something will come up! Fingers crossed.

Jw35 · 14/03/2016 19:53

Haha! Bear, yes just smells! Although I did want to eat the shoe polish which was weird! I mostly managed not to..Blush

PickleBot · 14/03/2016 19:55

Awww Lily that sucks!

JW my friend craved the smell of carpet shops last time. I'm still not having any real cravings yet, but I do seem to be eating a lot of avocados.

hgleslie we have a Nissan Note and its amazing, really reliable, very cheap to run (nearly 60mpg) and has more boot space of anything else in its class. Plus as it's a high roof type of shape it's much easier to get a baby/toddler in and out without cracking their head on the door frame not that I've ever done that of course

I've still got a week to go until my scan, but we've decided to find out whether it's a boy or a girl. We didn't last time, but I really want to know and as I'm having an extra scan at 36 weeks it will be pretty obvious by then!

OwlinaTree · 14/03/2016 19:59

Sorry lily, hope he gets something soon.

Lovely scan viva hooray for a boy! Lovely scan bear, glad all is well. Agree that you should try not to worry basket, your extra sounds like a precaution.

Exciting news on the house moves!

Leslie, we've got a corsa and an astra. I know nothing about cars but we are very happy with them both.

Lovely bump Santa.
