Just catching up now, sending you positive vibes and strength Lily I can't imagine the worry you must be going through Flowers

plimsolls · 24/03/2016 15:19

Sending lots of positive "stay closed!" vibes to you lily. Well done for acting on your instincts yesterday and getting yourself down to the hospital.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 24/03/2016 15:51

Oh lily I'm so glad you called them! I have my car at work tomorrow and I'm honestly five minutes drive away so if you need anything at all let me know. I don't have to come in I d an leave it at reception if you pm me your name. I really hope the procedure goes well. Fingers crossed for you.

Baby was behaving at my scan today so everything is fine - I found it all so fascinating!

OwlinaTree · 24/03/2016 16:39

Thinking of you lily.

lilygirl81 · 24/03/2016 16:51

Thank you all for being so lovely. I'm back on the ward, cramping quite a bit but that's normal apparently and everything went well. It ended up being the head of obstetrics that did the stitch, so couldn't have got a more experienced pair of hands which gives me confidence. Just need to hope the next 48 hours go smoothly and our little trouble maker stays put. They did a Doppler and still a lovely strong heartbeat so she is still a happy little thing.

Alfie you are so kind, thank you for offering

Christinedonna · 24/03/2016 17:04

So glad it went well lily hopefully whatever they've given you will help with a nice sleep! The worst is over

Suziesome1 · 24/03/2016 17:38

That's good news lily, there's a lot of positivity being sent your way from all of us, hope it wings its way to your cervix! Had my scan, baby GIRL!!! is good, placenta is low, so back for another scan at 34 weeks, not too bothered as she said 97% of low lying placentas move by then, again, wishing you all the best wishes xx

Christinedonna · 24/03/2016 17:42

My scan is a week away today! I'm exactly 20 weeks today and will be 21 on the scan. Starting to feel more kicks and got a few more stretch marks (not as exciting as the kicks unfortunately). I'm just really looking forward to having a new picture of my baby! And feeling major kicks, I can't wait for a foot in the rib and the OH to feel it!

Sophia1984 · 24/03/2016 17:50

Congrats on your little girl Suzie and welcome to the low-lying placenta gang :-)

Suziesome1 · 24/03/2016 18:09

Thank you for your kind welcome! Ive never been in a gang, i'll make myself at home ;)

lilygirl81 · 24/03/2016 18:48

Make sure you do Suzie it's a wonderful bunch of people here. Congrats on the girl, and hopefully your placenta moves up, I had heard they mostly do.

Christine I feel the same about the foot in ribs thing, nice clear definite movements will be amazing. Sorry about the stretch mark, I have about 4 now but I'm very prone to them, got loads when I was growing up as I grew in real fast spurts.

I'm feeling ok, but keep having to tell DH to stop looking at my catheter bag!! Apparently he took the puppy to bed last night so he could have snuggles, which is very sweet.

bexh83 · 24/03/2016 18:52

Lily just caught, im glad to read that the procedure went well, how scary for you, its so much to manage emotionally and physically. Hugs to the baby bump.

Sophia a very senior collegue told me I was welcome to apply for a new job with him...to which I laughed and said maybe in a few months..."oh right, yes, you will be perfect when thats all sorted"...also told me he'd enjoyed watching me grow and eyes darted to the bump... clueless blustering :)

Scan next week - Im so excited im forgetting about the easter break and a birthday!

Christinedonna · 24/03/2016 19:06

Just weighed myself and I've put on a stone since being pregnant! I know you shouldn't weigh yourself at the end of the day and I'm sure it'll be less by a few pounds in the morning but wow! Very down now

lilygirl81 · 24/03/2016 19:24

Christine honestly, a stone is fine! It sounds awful but your body needs what it needs and you shouldn't feel bad.

MrsSantaClause · 24/03/2016 19:38

Just caught up, gosh what a tough time lily, pleased the procedure went well and hoping baby stays put til the end!

Had my scan today, had to have an internal as they couldn't see my cervix because of how baby was lying, and I'll also be joining the low placenta club. She said it wasn't completely covering it, but was too close, so they're just going to check again at 32 weeks. She did say they would do it at 36, until I told her that two of my babies were born at 36 weeks! I'm sure it will have moved out of the way as others have said-it's nice to get another look at the baby. I always find it such a long time after the 20 week scan til they're actually born so nice to get an extra one.

Still not feeling any movements, could see it moving on the screen but couldn't feel a thing. Must have too much flab in the way!

Stayed team yellow too, the sonographer told us when to look away so didn't even get a peek to guess.

Here's our little thumb sucker anyway Smile

Congrats on the girl Suzie, v exciting!

Glad your scan went well too Santa, seems strange to say congrats on the baby since you knew it was a baby. But glad all is looking good, nice to get extra scans too. I'm getting 3 extra growth scans towards the end, so it will be nice to see the baby some extra times! We want to stay team yellow too, so we'll have to hope the baby doesn't flash us!

lily glad the OP went OK, try to keep your feet up and rest.

PickleBot · 24/03/2016 20:20

Bloody hell I leave you lot for a day and all hell breaks loose! Lily I'm glad it went well, loads of non-labour vibes on their way to you! You've had far more than your fair share of rubbish this pregnancy, I hope the baby sleeps through from day 1 for you!

stranded what a long leg!! Glad all went well, a busy day of scans today!

pickle I know, been quite the 24 hours!

Dileas29 · 24/03/2016 21:13

lil glad procedure went well, what a fright you must've got, you will be exhausted. Lots of rest for you.

Scan today and all went smoothly, 40 minutes of seeing Baby as sonogram woman had a trainee in so they spent lots of time going over everything in detail which was great! This also meant I had to go to the toilet and do star jumps on two occasions to get the baby into positions they were looking for.

We found out what flavour too, baby GIRL on the way!! Delighted as our loft full of girl clothes will go to good use!

Sorry guys, I forgot to crop my name out of the picture so I got the message deleted. I'll try again!

Oh Lily, what an ordeal. I hope the next few hours/days go smoothly and that you can relax a little.

Had my 20-week scan today, all was well. I'm in awe of all the details they can see. Still team yellow. Baby is chubby and had a longer than average femur length - we're both tall-ish, so that makes sense.

I still think boy, just based on the profile! Smile

quitecrunchy · 25/03/2016 00:33

Wow Lily so sorry you're going through all this stress! That's great that the op went well though, sounds like there's a good chance that your cervix will behave itself from now on in. Good going for getting yourself in and checked when you did! Will be thinking of you and sending positive vibes Thanks

Congrats on the recent scans, some amazing pics here!

lilygirl81 · 25/03/2016 08:08

I think my biggest lesson from all this is that if anything feels weird or not quite right, get checked out. I honestly almost didn't bother which could easily have meant I lost our girl by next week.

22 weeks today, viability is so close.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 25/03/2016 08:31

Bah, I wrote a big post yesterday night and the bloody thing didn't post!
lily, my heart absolutely goes out to you, you poor thing. This little girl is determined not to give you a minute's rest isn't she! So, so glad you went in when you did and that the op went smoothly. Once the 48hours are past will you be allowed home (on strict bed rest I expect!) or will they keep you in now for the foreseeable? Will be thinking of you and little one, and keeping everything crossed she decides to turn up at 42 weeks after all this Wink wouldn't put it past her!

Hurray for all the good scans for everyone. Suzie congrats on baby girl! MrsS I'm guessing girl for you, and stranded boy for you! So glad all went ok and looked good. Sophia, you've started quite the trend, lots of low-lying placentas on this thread!
Christine don't worry about weight gain. A stone sounds about right tbh. I've gained 10/11lbs so not far off. It's all gone on the bump and boobs though. I can't say I'm overjoyed about it but I keep telling myself my body is just doing what it needs to to keep this baby healthy.

22 weeks today - can't believe how fast it's going! 3rd tri will be here before I know it. It's looking like we'll be moving right around the time I need my anti-D, so am a wee bit worried about that and getting care etc transferred in time, but I can cross that bridge when I come to it!

lilygirl81 · 25/03/2016 08:43

Four it sounds like they are happy for me to go home today which will be amazing! I'm to behave as normal, no dtd for a couple of weeks at least, and avoid strenuous stuff and stress, with monitoring fortnightly. Think I will be being very cautious until at least 24 weeks.
