Good luck for the scan today Cola :)

Fizzyboo · 23/03/2016 09:39

Eek! It's scan day for me today too! I'm at 3.30...
I couldn't sleep last night, mixture of excitement and nerves...

On a side note, husband and me keep disagreeing on how much 'stuff' I should be doing. Granted, as he puts it, I'm on a cleaning hyperdrive, and he says I'm like an unstoppable humming bird. He says I need to relax and chill out but I think I'm fine and I want to sort everything in the house out properly and give it a proper 'deep clean' he thinks it's not good for me and babes, I think the activity keeps us healthy... What's your opinions ladies?!

plimsolls · 23/03/2016 10:23

Good luck for the scans today.

Mine's still a few weeks away (I'm 17+3). I'm still waiting to feel any movement.... I feel lots of sensations (esp at night) but nothing unfamiliar so assuming what I feel is just digestive stuff rather than baby. I'd like to feel something definite soon, the 8 weeks between the two scans is too long for my pregnancy paranoia!

We don't have any holidays planned. OH said last night he'd like us to go on a short break to the city where I went to uni (YEARS ago!) so we'll definitely do that at some point before I start waddling.

squiggle I grew up on the Island! Hope you've enjoyed living there. Good luck for the move.

lilygirl81 · 23/03/2016 10:47

Could I get your opinions? I'm sat at my desk feeling awful. I had some pink bleeding last night, but put it down to us dtd. Now I'm getting really painful pains around my bump, I can't stand straight and it's so sore it's stopped me in my tracks. Does this sound like the kind of thing I should call someone about, and if so, who, midwife (not keen on her) or hospital, and if hospital which area is it as only ever spoken to the EPU

Christinedonna · 23/03/2016 10:51

Maternity day care!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 23/03/2016 10:57

lily I'm in Aberdeen too and the midwife told me that if it's before 24weeks then always call Rubislaw ward. Do you have the number? I've got it if you need it. Worth a wee ring to check I think.

lilygirl81 · 23/03/2016 11:17

I've got the number thanks Alfie, will give her a call

Tessabelle74 · 23/03/2016 11:23

Good luck with the scan Fizzyboo!
I hope it's just ligament pain lily, please keep us updated xx

Colabottle10 · 23/03/2016 11:37

All present and correct with scan. Baby was very active, we saw it yawn and wave!

Decided this morning to find out the sex however baby had its legs tucked right up and the sonographer couldn't see, see we are still Team Yellow! Typical!

August 2016 number 4 - bumps popping and scans happening, we actually have babies!
Christinedonna · 23/03/2016 11:40

Do they offer to bring you back if you can't see the sex? Or is it just a bonus that you get if baby permits as that's not really what the scans for?

Mslg · 23/03/2016 11:44

Ah Cola beautiful pic! 😁 You still have a nice surprise to look forward to at least!

Christine the NHS won't rescan if baby doesn't play ball as the main purpose of the scan is the anomaly check. You'd have to book a private scan if you wanted to find out the sex.

Mslg · 23/03/2016 11:45

Lily you poor thing, it sounds like ligament pain. Hope all is ok Flowers

lilygirl81 · 23/03/2016 12:54

Cola sounds like a good scan, and great pic.

I'm just about to head to the EPU, hopefully it will just be a quick once over and everything is fine, hope so as I could only move my 2pm meeting to 3:30!!

Christinedonna · 23/03/2016 14:50

My EPU won't deal with you after 16 weeks

bearhuggy · 23/03/2016 14:50

lily hope all ok and its just a quick in and out check, don't rush yourself though and take it easy. if you need to cancel your meeting then so be it !

cola great scan!! we also had a little yawn which was hilarious to see. Funny that babe wasn't playing ball...sounds like they are perhaps on the shy side Blush

welcome tessa :)

zumba thanks so much for your tips and advice re. iCandy Peach, we are going for it and just placed the order online last night. Good to hear about the accessories and buying from elsewhere too, will look into those.

coco glad the funeral was ok and I bet it was nice for you to have some closure. hope your little one feels better soon.

babe is really kicky today and even woke me up at 4 am this morning with a foot in the side, hope this is not a regular thing as only just getting my sleep pattern back to near normal!! wishful thinking I guess.

booked our 4D scan at 25+5, anyone else doing one?

21 + 5

Fizzyboo · 23/03/2016 15:05

Just about to head off for my scan!!

In the meantime, here's finally a pic of my bump (and fat Wink)

Fizzyboo · 23/03/2016 15:05

Which helps if I attach it... Blush

Mslg · 23/03/2016 15:14

Good luck Fizzy!

I'm going home to Ireland for Easter, should I bring my notes?! I wouldn't have expected I needed to?

bearhuggy · 23/03/2016 15:33

good luck fizzy and great pic, no fat there :)

ms good point, I hadn't even thought about taking my notes away with me...I asked my midwife about travelling and she didn't mention it, but perhaps just take them to be on the safe side ?!

lilygirl81 · 23/03/2016 15:36

Lovely bump fizzy

Mslg I've been sticking my notes in the car or a bag so I always have them, but that's probably due to having ended up in hospital so often!

I'm still at the EPU, saw the doc who is now seeing if the senior doc wants to see me. Everything looks fine, they just can't work out what is causing the pain. I've called our receptionist and explained so she is going to tell my appointment I might not make it! Hopefully they will understand...

FourForYouGlenCoco · 23/03/2016 16:32

No fat there fizzy! Lovely wee bump. Eagerly awaiting a scan update! Re activity - do what you feel comfortable with. In my experience, you'll know if you do too much! And this is the nice, energised bit of pregnancy so might as well make the most of it.
Cola congrats, brilliant pic! And what a cheeky babe. I think s/he looks girly, but I am a terrible guesser, so don't buy any pink Grin
lily hope all is ok and no concerns with baby!
mslg definitely take your notes back with you - once you have them you're supposed to take them everywhere! Personally think that's a bit excessive, but I would always take them if going away for a while/far from home.
Welcome Tess, good to have you!
M2B that is sad that your OH can't be at the 20w scan, it's a lovely thing for them - dads have so little input into the process that the scan helps make it more real for them I think. Maybe take your mum or a trusted friend with you to the NHS one for moral support, and book a private scan (if you can) to go to with OH? At least that way he doesn't miss out on seeing baby, and it's something nice you can share.
squiggle 10 days, exciting! Good luck with your move! We're moving to Bordon so not far from your new ends. I'm sooooo excited to be day-tripping distance from the seaside, I love it more than anything and have spent most of my life in Leicester, about as far away from the beach as it's possible to get!

I had a call back from a student midwife re the mystery scan - they aren't sure either but best guess is that it's for reassurance due to 3 previous MC. I didn't ask for it so not sure why they've given me it, but I'm not complaining!
Have had a lovely lazy day today, DD better but not great so had a long-overdue duvet day, it's been perfect, especially with the weather still crap. Am sure Spring should've sprung by now!

lilygirl81 · 23/03/2016 18:47

I'm being kept in Sadeverything looked fine for getting home, then the consultant did an internal (ouch!!!!) and said he thinks my cervix might be short. I need to go for a detailed scan in the morning and if it is, I'll need a stitch put in. I honestly expected to just be told to go home and the cramps were just one of those things, but a bit worried now.

Christinedonna · 23/03/2016 18:58

Oh bless you lily!
You're in the best place for it and we all know you're not new to hospitals! They need to keep you to look after you and you'll get all the care you need! Don't worry, rest up and get a good night sleep

Tessabelle74 · 23/03/2016 19:03

Fingers and toes all crossed for you lily!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 23/03/2016 19:09

Hope all goes well lily, I'm up for my scan tomorrow so let me know if you need anything dropping off for you. I'm sure they are just being cautious just incase. And Rubislaw are so lovely when I was up for an afternoon - they know their stuff.
