Congratulations Jw! 😁💓

I'm so entrigued as to what mine is now. Movement is becoming stronger, like little tiny thumps! Such an incredible feeling 😀 20 +3

plimsolls · 22/03/2016 17:07

Congratulations jw.

Biscuitswithtea · 22/03/2016 17:38

Congratulations on all the happy scans that have happened recently :)

We had ours today and it was lovely. We had pretty much decided to stay team yellow - which was just as well as baby had its legs firmly crossed all the way through! I really like the 2nd scan - there's so detail, it's amazing.

Feeling quite spoiled for baby contact at the mo - midwife in 2wks and then the extra cardiac scan 2wks tomorrow! I won't be complaining!!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 22/03/2016 18:30

Yay Jw! You were right Smile and your first name is AMAZING btw! Love it.

OwlinaTree · 22/03/2016 20:01

Congratulations jw! A girl!

Glad your scan went well biscuits, it is amazing what they can see and show you isn't it?

MrsZumbaDancer · 22/03/2016 20:03

Congrat jw!

bear I've loved my icandy and would recommend. Uppababy too big for me too! It's really easy to steer, can do it one handed, fold is easy enough. I haven't found it a pain being 2 pieces and its not that heavy. I would try it in your car boot though as the big wheels ruled some cars put for us - DH has the family car (was Leon at the time) no probs, but I tried polo, Yaris, fiesta, juke and only car it fit in without removing wheel was an Ibiza.

Basket is fairly big which is handy. Harder to get to when the carrycot is in then when it's the pushchair, but never found it to be a problem. Don't buy an icandy footmuff though as v expensive and not that big, I got one from jojo maman and its still being used (Ds is 28 months). Don't buy icandy uv sunshade either as that's a pain, I got one on Amazon that also fits my maclaren Xt ( bought a stroller for hols as didn't want the icandy to get bashed around!)

It can be converted into blossom which is good but you need adaptors and the lower seat/pram is smaller so you'd need to buy those too.

Ours has been pretty much used since day 1 and has lasted well, will use it for this dc. Some people said the seat is small and wouldn't last but we're still only on the middle setting for the harness. Neither me nor DH or particularly tall though so neither is Ds!

I think pushchair choice is such a personal one, everyone's different. Try loads out, practise folding and putting back to together, trying a car seat and adaptors and fitting it on car. My friends have bugaboos, babystyle oysters, baby jogger city minis and everyone loves theirs for different reasons :). We spent 2 hours in John Lewis playing with them, then another hour in our local independent retailer!

Colabottle10 · 22/03/2016 20:05

Hi all, I'm 19 weeks today, got our scan tomorrow, still haven't decided whether we will stay Team Yellow or not.

I've been having period like cramps and pains today, really low down under bump. Dr Google says its normal, lots of stretching of internal stuff. No blood or anything. If we didn't have scan tomorrow I would have called the MW I think....

Anyone else had similar?

I've also not felt any movement yet....

lilygirl81 · 22/03/2016 20:43

Congratulations biscuits and JW, we are really getting through the scans now.

My ear is much better already thankfully, though still not pretty (are adult ears ever pretty...).

Spent today getting really worked up at a very senior member of my company making huge errors which I'm likely to need to fix. Thankfully I was out for coffee (or peppermint tea in my case) with an old friend I've not seen in ages. He is a lovely older bloke who sees me a bit like a surrogate daughter. Anyway, he gave me a box of Jo Malone stuff, loads of expensive chocolate and a toy for the baby, just because he is do happy about our news. It was a lovely end to the day and I'm now sitting stuffing my face Smile

FourForYouGlenCoco · 22/03/2016 20:54

Sorry biscuit, reading comprehension fail on my part earlier!! Congrats to you too, the scans are brilliant at this stage aren't they! Proper little babies in there.
Cola it sounds normal, I have lots of pains & cramps too - it does worry me a bit sometimes when they're v strong but nothing has happened so I assume all is well! Also pretty normal not to feel movements yet - you might be feeling them without realising, or your placenta might be at the front and cushioning baby's prods and kicks!
Well funeral all over and done with, was fine in the end. DD still hot & poorly and I'm worn out after a day of carrying her about, so we are currently snuggled on the sofa in our jammies watching Wreck-It Ralph. I'll probably go to bed when she does!

strandedabroad · 22/03/2016 21:12

Four I'm glad the funeral was ok. Sometimes it's nice to get closure.

Cola I'm getting the odd stretch and I don't think I've felt any movements either yet - there has been the odd twinge, but nothing obviously baby yet! I'm officially 20 weeks today, but I know that my 'real' dates are a bit behind, so I'm more around 19 if that makes sense. (I have been using this as a reason to try and not worry about the lack of movements - it must be too early and it's my first).

I'm sure everything will be fine tomorrow!

Jw35 · 22/03/2016 21:19

Thanks GlenCo! Smile I used to hate it but now I love it! Haha! Congrats biscuits!

Buggy wise I like a really simple design which is practical from birth to toddler. Not keen on travel systems as feel like they don't make great pushchairs (cumbersome). For me it's all about the weight and ease to push. That's why I love the nipper 360 personally. Never tried icandy but my sister reckons the bugaboo is amazing. I didn't get the Phil & teds after all as my sister said they're not great and she will send the double nipper by courier for me Smile baby will be in a sling mostly first few months anyway!

Sophia1984 · 22/03/2016 21:28

Cola I've got similar pains a lot of the time - feels like low level period cramping. Seems to be normal from what I've read.

Is anyone else daring to watch One Born Every Minute?

Biscuitswithtea · 22/03/2016 21:31

It seems like all this pram discussion just goes to show how personal it all is. I'm only 5'1, but manage fine with the Vista - frankly (for us) it was the best £600 ever spent on DS. He had terrible reflux for the first two years and he was able to sleep safely in the pram when lying down was too painful for him. That's not to say another pram wouldn't have saved our bacon in the same way but our choice worked for us and that's all we can hope for really.

Christinedonna · 22/03/2016 22:49

sophia I was busy with dinner!! When will it be on 4od? I'm definitely watching

Christinedonna · 22/03/2016 22:51

Woooop it's on there! Bed time telly for me and OH. If he falls asleep il punch him. He needs to take notes

squigglepants · 22/03/2016 22:58

glencoco Where are you moving to? I am currently living on the Isle of Wight but moving to Southampton in 10 days (eek, probably should start packing)

Tessabelle74 · 22/03/2016 23:17

Hi all! I'm new! I'm 41 from Leicestershire and due 16th August with number 4. Not got my scan until 3 weeks on Tuesday, I'll be dead on 22 weeks, the latest they can do it is 22+6 so hopefully they won't cancel it.

Jw35 · 23/03/2016 06:43

Sophia I watched it!
Welcome Tess Smile

Colabottle10 · 23/03/2016 06:58

Will catch up on OBEM.

Thanks for the cramping advice! Am up early as have the dogs to walk and horse to do before scan at 10, am quite nervous. Are we meant to drink loads again this time round? I was so uncomfortable last time!

Welcome Tess, we are EDD buddies.

Dileas29 · 23/03/2016 07:12

Welcome tess hope scan goes well and they can see you.

Thank you mslg I woke up in a lot of discomfort last night I really hope it clears soon and for you too! Thanks for sudocream advice
jw what a lovely scan picture! Great news all healthy there

Mine tomorrow at 2:40 we were going to get the midwife to write gender down in an envelope, not show us so I could take it to the local baker to make gender cupcakes so we could eat and find out sex of baby as a family with DD when we got home for something fun, BUT my husband has just found out he's working all evening and I really don't think I'll be able to wait another day or so to find out so we'll just need to find out there and then if we can! Exciting times nevertheless.

Glenco I hope the Wee one is better? You feel so sorry for them eh? Had mine at doc on Friday too and high temp and sickness all weekend, ear infection it turns out and yet more antibiotics (she gets them regularly with tonsillitis, the joys) you will be drained after that along with the funeral, glad you got some closure you were looking for.
The cramping feeling sounds unpleasant it's good that everyone on here can console each other with these things instead of worrying alone (sisterhood!) and also good MW team are avail on the other end of the line!

20+6

M2B816 · 23/03/2016 07:23

Hi all. What are your thoughts about OH not being able to be present for the 20 week anatomy scan? OH can't be relieved at work as his colleague is on leave. I'm obviously very disappointed and thinks this is a big thing to be missed. We're not finding out the gender so this will only be checking that everything is ok. OH suggested for me to bring a friend but I'd rather be on my own if he's not there. Confused

Tessabelle74 · 23/03/2016 07:32

Thank you for the warm welcome ladies! Cola my last 2 babies were 10 days late so I'm not optimistic on a
EDD arrival.
M2B how sad your OH can't make it, could your Mum made go with you? My Mum came to mine with my first as OH was unsure he'd make it as he was at uni and had to travel up from Cambridge that morning and I didn't want to be on my own in case of any bad news x

Jw35 · 23/03/2016 08:17

Good luck today Cola Smile

quitecrunchy · 23/03/2016 08:39

Congratulations on the positive scans, and good luck to those who have them coming up. Mine is a couple of weeks away yet and can't wait to see bubs again! Started feeling movement a couple of days ago though (I'm currently 18+2) so that helps!

Sounds like there's lots of fun trips planned before the babies arrive. Me and DH are off to Berlin next week. I haven't been in the slightest bit bothered about not drinking so far but I think I'm going to be gutted to miss out on the beer there!
