Congrat jw!
bear I've loved my icandy and would recommend. Uppababy too big for me too! It's really easy to steer, can do it one handed, fold is easy enough. I haven't found it a pain being 2 pieces and its not that heavy. I would try it in your car boot though as the big wheels ruled some cars put for us - DH has the family car (was Leon at the time) no probs, but I tried polo, Yaris, fiesta, juke and only car it fit in without removing wheel was an Ibiza.
Basket is fairly big which is handy. Harder to get to when the carrycot is in then when it's the pushchair, but never found it to be a problem. Don't buy an icandy footmuff though as v expensive and not that big, I got one from jojo maman and its still being used (Ds is 28 months). Don't buy icandy uv sunshade either as that's a pain, I got one on Amazon that also fits my maclaren Xt ( bought a stroller for hols as didn't want the icandy to get bashed around!)
It can be converted into blossom which is good but you need adaptors and the lower seat/pram is smaller so you'd need to buy those too.
Ours has been pretty much used since day 1 and has lasted well, will use it for this dc. Some people said the seat is small and wouldn't last but we're still only on the middle setting for the harness. Neither me nor DH or particularly tall though so neither is Ds!
I think pushchair choice is such a personal one, everyone's different. Try loads out, practise folding and putting back to together, trying a car seat and adaptors and fitting it on car. My friends have bugaboos, babystyle oysters, baby jogger city minis and everyone loves theirs for different reasons :). We spent 2 hours in John Lewis playing with them, then another hour in our local independent retailer!
