Just had to go to the doctors, my ear is bright red and swollen! Apparently have inner and outer infection which is lovely. When I checked the antibiotics were OK in pregnancy, she looked at me, and when I said I was 21 weeks she was shocked, said I was tiny! I was a bit taken aback, I think I'm huge!!!

bearhuggy · 21/03/2016 11:46

Hi all,
Hope you had lovely weekends.
Christine great news on your test results from last week, glad there is nothing to worry about.
lily sorry to hear about your ear!! sounds painful.
sophia thanks so much for your reply on my urine test, hoping that it's nothing as she did say it was a very low reading. She was also with a student midwife so I think she was almost going beyond the norm to set a good example as the whole appointment was very thorough.
stranded we are going to Thailand on Thursday for a couple of weeks, we have a friends wedding in Bangkok this weekend and then we are visiting some islands to relax. Booked it before we found out we were expecting...only worry is the heat as its 35 degrees in Bangkok at the moment Blush !!
leslie it's a toughie with weddings, we have 8 already this year and have had to decline one end of Aug in Greece as babe will only be a few weeks old. Also have my best friends the week before due date (I am a bridesmaid which should be interesting!) and another friends the weekend of my due date so am having to play both by ear and will be there if I can. No idea how I am going to be feeling that late on.
Anyone had or thinking of getting the iCandy Peach 3 ?? Still haven't made mind up on pram !!

Christinedonna · 21/03/2016 11:46

Have you uploaded a recent bump picture lily?

Sophia1984 · 21/03/2016 11:53

Stranded I'm not going to be able to afford to take much leave either (only get 6 weeks at full pay then am going to try and muddle on on half pay for a bit), but fortunately DP is a freelancer and is going to be stay-at-home dad when I have to go back after 5 months. It's really hard to imagine in advance isn't it!

I've also got ridiculously dry skin and am having a boy..

Christine Maybe you were at the end of an infection and your body cleared it. Are you feeling better?

lilygirl81 · 21/03/2016 11:53

Christine glad your tests were OK. I've not put a bump pick up yet, meant to take one at the weekend. It's probably just the dress I'm in hiding things well Smile

Christinedonna · 21/03/2016 11:56

sophia yeah I feel fine!
lilly I always wonder about bump size. Like I think I'm massive so can't imagine someone saying you're tiny when you feel everything but!

MrsZumbaDancer · 21/03/2016 13:06

bear I've got the Peach 2 from DS so only 2 years old and the 3 is pretty similar. Any questions about it give me a shout :)

Jw35 · 21/03/2016 13:50

Hi everyone, been a bit busy, my kids both have flu! Hoping I don't catch it. I'm 21+2 today and may scan is tomorrow!!! It's been a long time coming and I'm desperate to know the sex!

I just bought a Phil and teds double from eBay in good nick with raincover for £50! Bargain! I want it for town (will also be using a sling), I also have the double nipper 360 coming from my sister (I have the single and it's ace)!

Holiday this year will be going to Portugal in October, baby will be 10 weeks but I think I'm more worried about my toddler than the baby!

I'm not working at the moment so no maternity leave to worry about! I plan on childminding when my toddler starts school so I can be at home.

How's everyone feeling? I'm definitely getting more tired, yet waking up early! Here's my bump from today

Is anyone else getting aches, pains and twinges? I can't tell if it's pressure on my bladder, being a it constipated, round ligament pain or what, but I have a constant very low-level dull aching in my abdomen. Not painful or acute, just that I can always feel a sort of discomfort. I've had it for weeks now and haven't had any strong cramps or bleeding, it just feels like I do when I'm due my period. Is it normal? I've got a midwife appointment on Thursday so was going to ask her then..

PickleBot · 21/03/2016 19:32

Glad to hear infections have been caught and cleared up. Lily that sounds horrible with your ear, thank goodness for antibiotics! Your bump is looking good Jw

We are going to Hollandaise in may, I'm really looking forward to it. We've got the ferry booked, an air b&B fir the first couple of nights in a wagon on a farm with donkeys outside the window and Amsterdam 6km away and then a really lovely chalet on a campsite by the beach for 10 days. I'm so excited! I hope at 7m I'll still be able to ride my bike!

I had my scan today, it took about half an hour because the baby kept wiggling too much for the sonographer to get the measurements he needed. We also found out that it's a girl! I'm so excited, I was really hoping it would be. I celebrated with a little outfit from the M&S sale this afternoon.

Congrats Pickle!!

Love hearing about everyone's plans. We will definitely go camping in the early summer for the odd weekend - we have a campervan which makes it easier than a tent, although the master bed is at the top and very narrow - might have to sleep on the little bed downstairs if I keep growing at this rate Grin

Here's a before and after of baby's chest of drawers/changing table. Can't wait to use it!

Sophia, I know that we will be fine and we're lucky to have flexibility... I'm just trying not to worry about money too much!

Jw35 · 21/03/2016 20:12

Congrats pickle! Can't wait to find out tomorrow Smile

Dileas29 · 21/03/2016 21:54

stranded the baby unit looks great!! So exciting picturing using all these things eh? I've been looking into tandem buggies, buggy boards|pods and sling options, too much choice!

mslg how is the thrush if you don't mind me asking? I've had it for a fortnight kept hoping it would go away and had to cave in today to see doc, asked for female doc which was requested at reception and a male doc saw me instead as they were too busy...?! Thankfully no examination and I have a pessary and cream too, not convinced once tablet will do the trick? Lovely hormones ahhhh

Glad to hear all scans are going well and v jealous of the lovely holidays you have planned. Possibly going to the Isle of Lewis if I can take a few days off, trying to save them up for the other end so it's more time to spend with baby!

Christinedonna · 21/03/2016 22:14

Just looking into 4D scans and the only one I've found near me so far is £100 for 15 minutes. That can't be right surely??

OwlinaTree · 21/03/2016 22:18

Thanks for festival advice glenco. We were at Leeds 2011, same line up as Reading. I think that was the pulp year? Good times.

Mslg · 21/03/2016 23:23

Dileas don't mind you asking at all, I don't believe in tmi! It hasn't been too bad this time. The doctor think it flared back up because of the antibiotics I was taking for the GBS. Didn't have a whole lot of discharge, just a horrible chapped, swollen feeling which I used the cream from the combi pack on. No doubt I will get it again though Sad I've also been using Sudocrem for the broken skin on my vag that was bleeding and it seems to be helping!

Fizzyboo · 22/03/2016 02:07

Sophia I've got the ache too... I figured it's just everything stretching out and muscles doing weird things, so I'm not to concerned. I've had a few days of really achey but not in a way that makes me think something's wrong, just growing pains!

Glad scans are going well, got mine on weds, can't wait!

Gosh you're all braver than me going on holiday, I kinda panicked and cancelled my visit to one of my friends in Dubai and husband gave me an iou to cash in for my birthday (in Dec) for a holiday in Greece or Italy, but I bailed after heading to Amsterdam in January whilst still in the first tri and I wasn't feeling it at all, so I think I'm gonna wait till afterwards, maybe just some uk based jaunts so I'm never too far from anywhere!

Jw35 · 22/03/2016 09:38

My scan is today at 1.30! Grin can't wait!

strandedabroad · 22/03/2016 11:01

How exciting °JW°! Pregnancy is just one endless wait, isn't it!

Just popped into Baby Gap on my way to work, I'm actually relieved that I don't know what we're having or I would have bought the whole shop!! Everything is very boy/girl, not much neutral stuff... but so so cute. Not cheap but a little better in the sale!

bearhuggy · 22/03/2016 11:34

good luck jw hope all goes well!

zumba thanks for the help on the Peach, how have you found it so far and would you recommend? I like how it can now convert to the Blossom so it can be used for 2 babes. I am short and find the handle and steer very comfy compared to some others...the UPPAbaby range all seem like tanks to me!! Only downside I suppose is having to remove the seat before folding and it's quite heavy, have you found this a problem at all??

stranded don't get me started on shopping, I need a restraining order on all baby shops and websites !!! picture attached of the baby drawer...already almost full Shock I love your set of drawers, they look so great, time to fill them up with bits !!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 22/03/2016 12:02

Christine bit late now but glad all was ok! Just one of those weird pregnancy things maybe.
lily your ear sounds terrible, poor you! Hope the anti-bs are doing the job and you're feeling better today. I bet you're not huge at all - I think it's because we're not used to our bodies changing in these weird and wonderful ways.
bear EIGHT weddings already?! Blimey! I don't think I even have 8 friends, you busy bee. Your baby drawer looks adorable but I think you may need more space Wink
Pickle congrats on your girlie! Fab news, love the drawers too, now you can get cracking filling them.
Sophia uncomfortable here too, if I need a wee I get stabby pains! Also lots of round ligament pains & muscle stretches going on, I'm slightly hypermobile anyway so pulling muscles very easily at the moment!
Jw not long now, bet you just want the next 1.5 hrs to hurry up! Bump looks great. Let us know how you get on Smile

Had a poorly DD here yesterday, 39.3 degrees under the armpit, she was not a happy bunny. Thankfully she's much better today as it's my grandad's funeral this aftie. Quite looking forward to it in a weird way. Because I didn't see him before he died (so the last time I saw him, I didn't know was the last time iyswim) it all feels a bit unfinished and I think the funeral will provide a bit of closure. And it's a nice chance to catch up with some of the family I don't see often enough. Also left a message with mw to see if she can shed some light on the Extra Scan Mystery, but I'm not expecting to hear from her as they are snowed under round here!

Christinedonna · 22/03/2016 12:21

glencoco very random! Still leaking like a tap on the discharge front!
There seems to be a lot going round atm! Glad she's better today, a grouchy child is the last thing you'll need this afternoon. Assuming she's going with you? I've never been to a funeral, touch wood I've never really lost anyone. My nan when I was six and my parents decided I was too young to be at the funeral. And distant family that I don't really know, only be name and being like "I think I remember them" but that sounds like it'll be a nice afternoon despite the reason you're there. It's always nice to catch up!
I had a funeral I was able to attend earlier this year (again distant family) but decided not to as I feel slightly uncomfortable doing so when pregnant. For many reasons really. I'm overly emotional so no one needs a pregnant mess slobbering when they're holding it together, especially as everyone will know we weren't close. I feel a bit uncomfortable going to acknowledge someone's death when I'm carrying a new little life, when people are bound to ask about the baby and how we're doing it just doesn't seem appropriate, almost as though I'm stealing the lime light a bit! I'm sure if it was someone closer to me I'd go regardless and wouldn't give it a thought but that was definitely one of the reasons I didn't go.

Jw35 · 22/03/2016 16:14

I'm having a healthy little girl! Smile
