Good luck Eggy.
Splendidsuns - agh! What even is a 4th degree tear?! Mine were third degree and I thought that was as bad as it could get!!

evs34 · 06/04/2016 08:32

Good luck eggy- good that you felt sick! My scan is today too and feeling nervous.
Both my previous labours v different. First 29 hrs gas and air. Second much quicker but needed an epidural. Both normal vaginal deliveries. Don't think you can really plan too much ahead because each labour so varied. Have to say my epidural was amazing- could still feel Mild contraction pain and could still walk. We knew the anaesthetist though and he had a v good reputation. Live In totally different place now so have to go to the university hospital which is at least a 30 minute trip with no traffic. They have both mwife led and consultant led units there. Made mistake of watching one born! I had forgotten what labour can be like!!!! Are most of you on the fb group? Xx

evs34 · 06/04/2016 08:33

What time are you going eggy? Xx

Alwaysinahurrynow · 06/04/2016 08:38

I watched obem last night too and cringed when the lady towards the end was saying 'you're not helping, help me!' to her other half... I may have said something similar last time, when clearly without the labour fog, there was absolutely nothing he could do.

pod100 · 06/04/2016 08:41

Lots of luck today eggy! Will be keeping everything crossed for you. If it's any consolation, some of my symptoms came back over the weekend after disappearing for a week. The tiredness has been an absolute bitch! Also got the spots back again too Angry does anyone know if there's any safe medication you can get for them? I go on holiday next month and they're so red and angry looking, I can't go without makeup! I have oxytetracycline for the odd times when I get flare ups but it's not safe during pregnancy

JulietteL · 06/04/2016 08:46

Good luck eggy. Star

MyBreadIsEggy · 06/04/2016 09:03

Appointment is at 11. Some of you have probably seen my thread this morning....I'm in a pickle about taking DD with me. Don't want to take her and risk upsetting another woman who has just had the worst news she could possibly hear Sad

Allhallowseve · 06/04/2016 09:31

Oh wishing you all the best eggy. Flowers how do I join fb group?

BadlyWrittenPoem · 06/04/2016 09:31

Eggy, anyone who has had bad news should be taken somewhere private straight away. (I wasn't with my first early miscarriage but the hospital agreed with my formal complaint about that and other aspects of their handling of it.) Personally after my losses I found pregnant women and newborns more difficult than older babies and everyone waiting will be pregnant and nobody with bad news should be left in the waiting room so I wouldn't worry. It's lovely that you are so thoughtful about it at a time when you are worried yourself. Thanks

BadlyWrittenPoem · 06/04/2016 09:33

I was going to ask if there's a FB group but I want to wait till I've had my scan.

Afreshstartplease · 06/04/2016 09:44

Fingers crossed for you eggy

I don't use fb at all

FuzzyOwl · 06/04/2016 09:52

Eggy I really hope it goes well for you.

BigPigLittlePig · 06/04/2016 10:13

Another one sending good luck vibes your way eggy

Poem I didn't get the flu jab - mw agreed saying it's the end of the flu season now anyway. Am on day 6 of the flu. Should have had the jab. Fecking hindsight!

Went in to work, my lovely male colleague said "mrs bigpig, in the nicest way, you really don't look very well today" and am now home after a little cry.

Figgygal · 06/04/2016 10:18

Oh pig flu and being unable to take anything must be horrendous!! You poor thing!!

Afreshstartplease · 06/04/2016 10:18

That sounds rubbish bigpig but atleast you were able to go home

I am home with the three dcs today , felt pretty good first thing, now I feel drained

Could easily go back to sleep

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 06/04/2016 10:24

Hope all ok eggy.

goldenpineapple · 06/04/2016 10:28

Aaah Figgy and thousand - fellow Bristolians! (I've only been here 2 years so more of an adopted Bristolian!) I hadn't even realised Bath would be an option tbh - is it really nice there? I'm hoping for Cossham MLU - it's closest to me and it looks so lovely. I need to wait and see if they can cater for me with GBS though, so for the moment am booked at Southmead as its where the midwives book for my area. So I guess we won't cross paths tomorrow morning thousand as you're at St Michaels! One more sleep - eeeeek!

Oh BigPig hope you feel lots better soon - rest, rest and more rest.

Thinking of you Eggy - not long to wait now and really really hope all is well.

pinkbuttons · 06/04/2016 11:09

Thinking of you eggy hope all is ok.

Good luck with your scan too evs. Mine is later on today too and spent my entire night up with anxiety dreams.

Hope you feel better soon pig that's horrid.
I got my flu jab as work in a hospital but apparently there's been a delayed onset of it this yr, very unhelpful for everyone now that the GP's aren't stocking the vaccine though.

athousandsplendidsuns · 06/04/2016 12:22

Good luck everyone. Mrs fireman Sam i had no idea either...the consultant had to draw me a diagram! I think they're quite rare though and I don't have any significant lasting symptoms!

Gigglebert · 06/04/2016 12:59

eggy really hope everything has gone ok at your appointment x

clank2 · 06/04/2016 13:45

I've had 2 home births and one hospital. Hospital birth was horrendous. I still feel traumatised about it nearly 18 years on. Home births. Both brilliant. No tearing, minimal intervention needed, relaxed almost enjoyable experiences. No noise or mess? I had my babies, the midwives do their stuff, I went for a lovely bath and xe back to beautiful clean bed and no trace of any drama. I'm lucky to be very close to hospital so if any complications could get there very quickly, but no need either time. Definitely plumping for home birth this time, but still always with an open mind that things can change.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 06/04/2016 13:48

Bigpig I'm impressed you even made it into work at all! I had flu this time last year and DH had to take a week and a day off work to look after the children.

clank2 · 06/04/2016 13:53

I meant to reply to pink buttons. Last time my kids were in the house for some of the labour...they didn't even notice, but then grandparents took them to school. When they came home they had a cute baby brother! I think it's probably best to have a back up for kids to go somewhere, so you aren't worrying about if they are ok. It really depends. I think I will be more worried about the dog than the kids!

MyBreadIsEggy · 06/04/2016 15:07

Everything is great with BabyEggy!! Little heart pumping away Smile they said I have a small piece of scar tissue in the uterus from where I had DD, and that is more than likely the cause of the bleed. My due date has also been pushed back to 7th Novemeber....I'm less pregnant than I thought!!

Figgygal · 06/04/2016 15:12

Glad it was good news eggy sorry about dates moving though how frustrating!
