Urgh I have man flu. My whole face aches and I don't dare cough as may well vom. Have returned to bed (not something I'm known for - last did this 6y ago) accompanied by the cat, who is behaving as he did last time I was pg and draping himself across my midriff (usually too aloof for actual human contact).

Anyway.

Eggy I hope you can get some answers over the weekend.

Bikey86 · 02/04/2016 10:55

Hi golden date buddies! Have yiubget had your scan yet?

simile and afresh good to hear your experiencing the same. I did have a quick Google and it is a thing. Something to do with your womb already being stretched from previous pregnancy. You would think the pain would be less for that reason HmmHmm you have both reassured me anyway.

Afreshstartplease · 02/04/2016 11:04

I suppose it is the same as with after birth pains

Those are worse with each DC you have believe me they bloody are!

dottydimples · 02/04/2016 11:17

Bigpig, I have man flu too! Sounds like the same virus - achey face, cough, snotty, puffy eyes, head feels like it's been run over.... Only thing I have found that soothes it is ginger tea with a bit of honey in it. Although I've lost all taste and smell - not totally a bad thing right now though?

Eggy, I hope you get some answers sooner rather than later X

BadlyWrittenPoem · 02/04/2016 12:26

I've heard after pains are supposed to get worse but it's been the opposite for me. With #1 it felt like I was being stabbed whenever I breastfed. Last time I had none and the time before they were negligible. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the raspberry leaf tea I drank helped?

Afreshstartplease · 02/04/2016 12:45

Think mine with DC3 were worse than the actual birth!

pod100 · 02/04/2016 16:37

Having a really lazy day today. It's been lovely! Some of my symptoms have came back a little bit - the boobs have gone sore again, the indigestion/mild nausea has returned and once again my get up and go has got up and gone! Grin I slept for almost 12 hours straight last night, didn't wake up til 11am so I must have needed it!

IrisPurple1 · 02/04/2016 19:08

Glad your symptoms have returned pod I know how worrying that can be.

Bought a bigger pair of jeans and larger tights today, despite vowing not to get anything bigger until my scan. This was after sitting all afternoon at work with my trousers undone. I have 2 remaining jeans that fit - one with a bleach stain on the thigh. I have one (not summery) work dress that is long enough to wear with thin nude tights without getting a disciplinary. Dresses are roomy enough, but tights sadly not, and with the cold weather continuing (where I live) I can't go without. So can't really wait another 2 weeks until after my scan, unless I call in sick.
Spent all morning trawling round charity shops in the rain - just what you need when trying on clothes, a wet umbrella. First 2 pairs of size 10 jeans (I'm an 8) I couldn't do up. The next 2 were far too big. Settled on a pair, which I changed into straight away (I was mortified walking round town sporting a bleach stain) - by the time I got home the crotch was by my knees.
Tights - cheapest I could find were a 3 pack of lovely chocolate brown. Deliberated for ages before biting the bullet and buying Large. Fits size 14-16 apparently. They are actually no smaller than my usual Small size! I now have 2 pillows stuffed down them, doubled up, to try and stretch the waistband. No chance of a refund now...

Anyone else had more success???

Afreshstartplease · 02/04/2016 19:11

Luckily just before I found out I was pregnant I bought a few swing style tops and jumpers, these are great for covering up the fact I can't fasten my jeans

My work pants, I have one pair that probably have about two weeks left and a stretchy pair I hope will grow with me

Nickname1980 · 02/04/2016 19:29

I am quite petite (short, in other words!) so maternity clothes never looked right on me when I was pregnant with DS. Except for maternity jeans (topshop) and maternity leggings (asos), I just wore "roomier" ordinary clothes - swing dresses and tops. I totally struggled to find outfits that made me feel good in pregnancy! And I hear ya on needing to get the maternity clothes out already, Iris. My normal jeans are just too uncomfortable!

Unfortunately, my topshop maternity jeans were such bad quality that the elastic band failed right at the end of my last pregnancy and didn't actually stay up well Blush. They were binned! Feel a bit grumbly that I have to buy some more!

Am hoping it's going to be a hot summer so I can get away with dresses most of the time. Grin

I love the maternity dungarees look. After my scan, if all goes well, I may treat myself!

dottydimples · 02/04/2016 20:29

Nickname, since I found out I was pregnant I've been looking forward to buying some maternity dungarees! Grin

Figgygal · 02/04/2016 20:53

I've been googling dungarees now!!
Going to get some mat wear next weekend. I was in normal clothes until over 20 wks last time but that's not happening this time

SimileMilly · 02/04/2016 20:57

I've bought a load of maternity clothes this week (red herring, next, Asos, new look, vertbaudet and George) and spent today packing away all my clothes that no longer fit so I only have 'safe' clothes in my wardrobe. Last weekend I physically cried because I had nothing to wear Blush

BeckyNW · 02/04/2016 21:02

Well I guess I'd better stop lurking on this thread. Got to 11 weeks but now going through MMC. The scan showed that my little bub stopped developing at 7 weeks but my body held onto it till now. Best of luck to all of you on here, I really do wish you all happy and healthy babies.

FuzzyOwl · 02/04/2016 21:04

So sorry Becky. Flowers I had a mmc a few years ago and got some invaluable support and advice from some of the miscarriage threads on here. I hope you have lots of RL support and look after yourself.
