October 2016. Thread 3 - Booking In and Dating Scans!

I thought I'd start a new thread now we'be reached 1,000 posts on the last one!

Well last pregnancy I finished at 32 weeks. I was doing shift work and had lots of annual leave to take. I must admit I wasn't bored at all . I made the most of afternoon naps ,long baths , walks with the dog , shopping and general pottering. This time I have a 20month old in tow so not going to be quite the same although I wouldn't mind some time with him and also I'm knackered this time not sure how I will cope with work aswel at the end.

Morning all,

Scan day is finally here, just under 2 hours to go.
Barely slept a wink and seem to have really itchy skin, which will go nice,y with my face full of spots.

Feel sick to my stomach that it will be bad news but at least it will be over soon and I will know one way or another.
Good luck to anyone else having their scans today, will share a pic if all is well when I get back.

Ringing my midwife this morning
Distinct loss of symptoms and slight bleeding. I am so scared I can't even function properly this morning.

Try not to worry eggy! I know that's easier said than done but reading other threads lots of people seem to have a bit of bleeding around this point. Big hugs x

Nifty is a non invasive fetal trisomy test. Not available nhs yet. Looks at circulating fetal DNA in maternal blood sample. We had patau last time do were advised by fetal med consultant to have it done. From 10 weeks. Xx

I plan to finish work as early as it is possible! With the other 2 in school it will be bliss.

My scan is next Thursday when I will be 13+2. Can't wait, though I've been finding the heartbeat regularly with the doppler, so that's reassuring.

How is everyone feeling? My nausea got much worse at 9-10 weeks and isn't abating - I've had to go in late to work a couple of times but haven't missed a day yet.

Midwife said I need to see my GP and the decision will be made whether I need to go to the maternity unit at the hospital or not. Got an appointment at 11

I'm 11 weeks today. I've read about the placenta taking over around this stage, that's why symptoms can start to diminish because hormones aren't doing all the work.....I'm clinging to that until I know that everything is ok!

Oh eggy fingers crossed for you. I had a bleed on Saturday just before my 12 week scan (symptoms had reduced a week earlier) but all was ok. There's a lot going on down there at the mo stretching and moving and they told me it was really common so hopefully all is good news for you.

Yeah I had a little bleed when I was pregant with DD at about 9 weeks, but I still had raging morning sickness - my sickness seems to have completely disappeared this time It wasn't enough blood to warrant using a pad today, but blood was on the paper after I had been to the loo twice this morning

Go has referred me to the early pregnancy unit - just got to wait for them to ring now

I had my scan. One perfect little baby, all good dated me at 12 weeks plus 5 so my date has changed to 9th October. Feel a massive relief!

Awful skin here but swishy, grease free hair. I'm thinking of finishing up on August bank holiday, using 2wks AL and then starting mat leave at 38wks. I also want to be off for DD starting school next August but that's very much finances permitting right now.

Hi, scan went well, one very wriggly baby who was determined to keep his/her back to us. Had to drink more water and walk around for 20 mins before they could get any measurements. Was weird being back there again, I really thought I was done last time!
Relieved I at least know there is something in there and I can finally start to get excited. Also got promoted to 13 wks exactly with new EDD 7th October (which is the day after my birthday). Feeling a bit shocked that I will be a mum of FOUR in another 27weeks!
