I survived my scan ladies with no coughing fit! We have one very wriggly baby with a good heartbeat! Grin it's still a bit small so for now they've estimated I'm 11+1, so asked me to go back in on the 12th for another scan to do the nuchal test and bloods. We're not going to find out the sex, but I love trying to guess. It's all become very real now!!

Aww congrats Tea!!! Grin

Nickname1980 · 31/03/2016 12:34

So lovely! Congrats TeaGirl!

IrisPurple1 · 31/03/2016 12:56

Congrats on the scan Teagirl! That's a really clear picture. Evs so glad you got the all clear in your tests.

Welcome nickname. I tend to fancy similar foods, fruit, veg and simple food like sausage & mash. Not noticing the smells so much now.

Has anyone been having nosebleeds? I know they're more common in pregnancy but not sure at what stage. I had quite a big one this morning on the way to a meeting - nearly didn't get there on time!

At work a book-swapping system has sprung up - people leave books in the staff room for others to take. Spotted a Peppa Pig book today - was so tempted to take it but far too superstitious!

Figgy good luck with the scan.

Allhallowseve · 31/03/2016 13:22

Scan done here too! Put me at 13 weeks so new due date of oct 6th . Wiggly properly formed baby was lovely Smile
Now got me thinking if it's worth going back to work after 6 weeks hols ?

Nickname1980 · 31/03/2016 13:32

Thank you Iris! I'm so sorry about your nosebleeds, I haven't had any of those. I hope they pass soon!

Allhallowseve congratulations! So exciting! Ok so, with my last pregnancy, I was freelance and my contract ended just before Christmas when I was 33 weeks. I thought "perfect! I'll just go on maternty leave then!". By the end of my pregnancy I was sooooooooo boooooored! (But if I'd taken on more work would I have been really tired? It's so tricky!) See how you're feeling a bit later on if you can be flexible when you make that decision. You might have energy in the 30+ weeks and, like me, end up seriously bored, willing the baby to hurry up! Grin

Fraggleface · 31/03/2016 14:00

Good news on the scans ladies.

I am still so exhausted and constantly ravenously hungry. I went into m&s today so buy some new jeggings and I've got up a size. I hate feeling so fat and just hope I can find the motivation to lose it all again once the baby is here. I'm going to be the size of a house if this keeps on for much longer! Which is not good because I'm trying to keep it quiet from work for as long as possible.

Sorry for self indulgent post but poor dp must be getting tired of my constant moping Sad

Fraggleface · 31/03/2016 14:03

And allhallows, I'm planning to finish work end of August latest (due 4 oct) as September is our busiest month and I have no desire to do it at 8 months pregnant. Depending on how I feel might finish up earlier.

Alwaysinahurrynow · 31/03/2016 14:32

First pregnancy finished work at 36 weeks, baby arrived at 38 weeks.

Second pregnancy finished work at 34 weeks, baby arrives at 39 weeks.

This pregnancy planning to finish at 34 or 35 weeks. With no2, I was in an office with no aircon and it was 28 degrees inside so my last month at work was horrible as school holidays too so understaffed. I'm likely to end up with a section between 38 and 39 weeks, so want a little bit of time to myself before this baby arrives.

Gigglebert · 31/03/2016 15:09

First pregnancy I finished up at 35 weeks and baby didn't come until 42! I was SO bored and was gutted to end up going back to work as early as I had to! This time I want to get to 38 weeks and plan to take my accrued leave at the end of my mat leave so I'm still off for babys first birthday!

MyBreadIsEggy · 31/03/2016 15:22

Iris I had at least one nosebleed per day when I was pregnant with DD Confused have only had one so far with this pregnancy.
I'm starting to freak out when I have a day that I don't feel too sick - like today. I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow, so not sure if it's just naturally trailing off or whether I should worry about loss of symptoms Blush

MrsMermaid · 31/03/2016 15:27

I've been thinking about maternity leave too... I'm really hoping I am in a fit state to work for two or three weeks after the school summer holidays. Otherwise it would be six weeks off for hols, another three and a bit until due date and even then I could be another two weeks overdue! Sounds like an eternity to be waiting for baby! In other news, I am finally starting to be a little less sensitive to food. Actually brought myself to do a tesco click and collect shop for the week Smile the end of nausea is (hopefully) in sight! Good luck to everyone with scans coming up, loving the pictures.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 31/03/2016 15:50

Iris I don't get actual nosebleeds but there's always blood there whenever I blow my nose.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 31/03/2016 15:54

I've been feeling more human today. I am trying not to panic that it means something bad!

MyBreadIsEggy · 31/03/2016 16:16

Also....has anyone all of a sudden turned into a spotty mess?! My skin is unbelievably disgusting - it's just erupted over the last week Sad

pod100 · 31/03/2016 16:21

Glad you've all had good scan appointments! Your photo is fab, teagirl!

Had second midwife appt today, she took loads of bloods and I got a flu jab, even if it is the end of the season. Apparently I'll eventually get my scan date in the post by the end of next week... Feel like baby will have arrived before I get my scan Grin

I'm definitely getting my appetite back for normal food again now and the tiredness has well and truly faded. Not counting my chickens but it's nice to feel better again! The midwife agreed this morning that feeling better was probably due to the hormones settling.

TeaGirl3 · 31/03/2016 16:38

Thanks ladies! I'm so happy that it seems ok so far, fingers crossed for the tests.

Hope you all have good scans!

athousandsplendidsuns · 31/03/2016 16:45

Nice to hear scan news. mybread I'm stressing too coz heaving regularly over sink has reduced to mild nausea....feel generally better/more hungry and it's worrying! Still don't feel normal, really should calm down! 11+1 today.

Tallblue · 31/03/2016 18:19

eggy you're not alone...my skin is really bad and I've got several painful spots under the surface waiting to erupt, I feel like I'm a teenager again! I forgot how much spots can hurt.

teagirl lovely scan pic!

I managed to get an earlier scan date, was originally going to be past 13 weeks but now it's booked for next week at approx. 11+4

I recently finished a temporary work contract and don't see myself being able to find anything else until after the baby arrives (all being well). I live overseas in a place where the employment rules are very different to how it would be at home in the UK. So for now I'm a SAHM to DC1, 19 months. I'm finding running around after a toddler exhausting combined with pregnancy exhaustion, nausea and darn spotty face pain!!

Good luck to all those with scans in the next few days.

dottydimples · 31/03/2016 19:03

Nosebleeds - I have never ever had one, but I had my first one a few weeks ago while I was throwing up. I think I just had popped a blood vessel while straining so much vomming!

Skin - I'm lucky, I hardly get spots. But oh my gosh, I have about 6 painful ones at the moment. I might treat myself to a face mask later if I can be bothered.

Teagirl - great picture! Well done on not having a coughing fit too. We will be scan buddies on the 12th!

Glad to hear people are starting to feel a little more normal! Grin

pod100 · 31/03/2016 19:14

Yes eggy, my skin has been awful! I have a cluster of really bloody painful spots on my chin. I've had them since I was 3 weeks and they're only just starting to show signs of improvement now. I've tried all sorts on them, from toothpaste to sudocrem but tea tree oil seems to be the best so far

BigPigLittlePig · 31/03/2016 19:38

Spot central here too. But am finding I can leave my hair 3 days between washes (last pg I could go a week by the end!) - every cloud etc etc .

Lovely to hear good scan news, only a few days til mine and am starting to feel a bit nervous.

Last time round I planned to work til 38w but dd rocked up at 35w after a dull week at work. It meant I had no time to worry myself about labour (or make a birth plan, pack a hospital bag) and all my mat leave was after she was born. Shall plan to go to 38w again as dd will start school next Sep and would like to still be off for that.

Afreshstartplease · 31/03/2016 20:08

Hi ladies

11+5 today

Felt really healthy this morning then by 10 was heaving

Yuck

Sickness needs to go away

Struggling to sleep so much now, hips are agony with start of spd

Need to make a self referral for physio I think

evs34 · 31/03/2016 21:50

Spots here too. Lovely scan tea.
Spoke to clinic about nifty results today as wanted to confirm that all ok. We are having a girl! DD will be so pleased, DS less so- poor love. No idea when tell them this time. Will get scan done next week and then think about it after that. Already look like I have eaten a million choc eggs so not sure can hide it until 16-20 weeks. Glad nausea and tiredness lifting for some of you. Xx

Nickname1980 · 31/03/2016 22:12

Hi evs34 - what is the nifty test? (Sorry it must be a few posts back before I joined). How far along are you to find out the gender?

Congrats on having a girl!!!
