I'm 10 weeks in min Friday and have felt rubbish since 4+3 so I guess I should be grateful for a respite, but your brain goes a bit frantic, doesn't it! I had a scan at 8 weeks and all looked fine then so I'm probably just being silly

evs34 · 30/03/2016 09:08

Your not being silly- totally normal to feel worried about everything all the time! Think we are all as bad as each other. My nausea went quite suddenly and I fretted but I think symptoms do just stop fairly quickly often around 10-12 weeks.

BigPigLittlePig · 30/03/2016 10:48

Definitely not being silly pod - I was worrying away to my mum the other week, only now the nausea has returned so no fear there!

Whole household, including visiting ILs, struck by head colds today - have run out of paracetamol so shall have to venture out. Urgh.

I declined the flu jab at my booking in appt, which was 5 weeks ago now. Since then, the region I live in has had a massive outbreak of flu and swine flu, and we have had lots of patients admitted to the hospital I work in, so have been paranoid - hopefully will manage to avoid that particular nasty.

Iris I wish it weren't so many hours, but there isn't really an alternative. Shall relish every glorious moment of maternity leave tho!

goldenpineapple · 30/03/2016 11:24

Taco its really frustrating isn't it?! You'd think they might communicate with each other! When I saw the midwife this morning for bloods attempt round 2 (success!) I asked if it was important and she said there has been a resurgence recently and pointed out that originally swine flu started in the summer Confused But anyway, I can't have it now so no point worrying.

pod my nausea and vile mouth taste disappeared for a couple of days around 9/10 weeks and then came back - I was just the same as you and so worried. Its awful isn't it- when we have the symptoms we're unhappy and when we don't we're even more unhappy. Such a worrying thing altogether. My DH says I can't moan about feeling sick anymore as I was so upset when I didn't!

Sorry to people who are feeling poorly on top of symptoms - hope you all get better soon Flowers

I got my scan date letter this morning Grin Its next Thursday, 7th April - which is the day after the 14th anniversary of when I met DH! I will be 12+3 according to LMP, but I reckon it'll turn out to be 12+1 by when I ovulated. Excited/terrified!

Nickname1980 · 30/03/2016 13:56

I hope it's ok for me to join, late in this thread?!

Age: 35
Due date: 25th October

Just wanted to add to those who said they feel like total crap these last few weeks. This week feels almost worse than the others!! (10 weeks)

I've enjoyed reading back about smells driving you all crazy - and food cravings! I have a mega craving for anything FRESH. Chocolate (my favourite food in the entire world) makes me feel sick. I keep persevering anyway Grin. All I want is fruit and vegetables. Wonder if that means I'm lacking in those vitamins? Haha.

Sorry to those who are feeling sick. And congrats to those who have had their scans and all is good. My scan is on April 14, feeling a bit nervous (even though this baby isn't my first. But I think it's always a bit nerve-wracking!).

Pod, in my last pregnancy, my nausea also vanished suddenly (around 9 or 10 weeks). I understand your worry, but just know it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. In fact, when my nausea vanished, I had a bleed a few days later. I totally was convinced it was over, it wasn't - that baby is a healthy, bounding two-year-old now!

IrisPurple1 · 30/03/2016 14:07

For all of you concerned about flu jabs - there's a really bad flu virus circulating in our office this month, and a number of us had the jab (not me). Two colleagues had it really bad and were off for over a week unable to get out of bed. One of them had the flu jab, one didn't. So it doesn't seem to have made a difference.

Paracetamol is OK to take, just try and hold off if you can. Paracetamol is also recommended for reducing temperature, so may be the lesser of the two evils. I had that same head-cold: sore throat, really bad sinus headache and temperature. Was really freaking out about my temperature.

Get well soon!

athousandsplendidsuns · 30/03/2016 17:56

golden my scan is Thurs 7th too at 12+1...wish it would hurry up! Had night time cough for 5 days now.....so tired! My midwife said its too late for flu jab but there's been an outbreak here too. Get well soon everyone.

evs34 · 30/03/2016 18:05

Bit odd. Just been on my old thread - due May. They are all huge and 30 weeks plus! When I read the posts time seems to have flown. Sad that it won't be happening for me but so glad that I am pregnant again. I hope the time goes quickly for us too.

evs34 · 30/03/2016 18:06

Ps - welcome nickname and congrats x

IrisPurple1 · 30/03/2016 18:14

Evs I'm with you - I was due May too before our loss, and so happy to be pregnant again. I still think from time to time about where I would be now.

goldenpineapple · 30/03/2016 18:34

thousand good to have a scan date buddy! What time is yours? Mine is 9am which I'm really pleased about as less time to worry on the day - although fully expecting a sleepless night the night before!

Welcome Nickname! I'm totally off chocolate at the mo too, its very confusing and sad - especially with Easter and all the lovely looking eggs. Weirdly, chocolate smells like marmite to me right now - weird.

evs and Iris sorry for your losses Flowers glad you are here now with the October ladies.

athousandsplendidsuns · 30/03/2016 18:41

9.30 ... glad it's am...both with ds 1 were 2pm.

TeaGirl3 · 30/03/2016 18:49

I've got my scan tomorrow morning and I'm terrified of wetting myself (sorry TMI!). I've got a viral chest infection, so have a really bad cough - worried that I won't be able to keep hold of a full bladder! Blush Aah!

Lovely to see more scans coming through now!

clank2 · 30/03/2016 18:55

Ive got a uti, gp has prescribed me trimethoprim. Opened the packet and it very clearly says not for use in pregnancy. So what the bleep do I do now? Gp now shut, and pharmacy...how can they make this mistake?!

MsFiremanSam · 30/03/2016 19:09

Finally got my scan date too and it is also Thursday 7th!

evs34 · 30/03/2016 19:12

Iris- so glad to have your company xx

Just got my NIFTY results back- low risk. So so relieved. One more hurdle jumped.

evs34 · 30/03/2016 19:19

Teagirl- that made me laugh!
Clank - can use trimethoprim in pregnancy. Often depends on your local antibiotic guidelines because of resistance etc. as long as not folate deficient which you shouldn't be if taking your folic acid. Important to treat it as uti can cause problems of not.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 30/03/2016 19:31

Clank almost everything says you can't take it in pregnancy because legally the manufacturer cannot state it is safe unless they have done randomised controlled trials with pregnant women which for obvious reasons they can't do. Loads of things are known to be safe though or in certain circumstances the benefits outweigh the risks. I can't remember why but I know it's important to treat UTIs in pregnancy.

Welcome nickname I only joined last week and I imagine there'll be more later on. Smile

Figgygal · 30/03/2016 20:52

Tea girl I have my scan tomorrow too but I'm at 6pm utterly crapping myself but have an utterly overwhelming nasty taste in my mouth so surely I'm still pg. PIL having ds until we get back.

SimileMilly · 30/03/2016 21:27

Good luck for all of the scans tomorrow!

DP has been home from work a full 14 mins and is driving me mad. We have tenants moving into our flat on Friday and he is currently googling whether or not no more nails will stick down carpet - we need to suck it up and just buy new carpet for the stairs and landing. I'm supposed to be on AL but think I'd be less exhausted sitting in my office than all the running around I've been doing the past few days.

Peppaspants · 30/03/2016 21:34

Great news evs!

pod100 · 30/03/2016 21:50

Ah that's excellent news evs! You must be so relieved!

Thanks all for supportive comments earlier. Glad I'm not the only one getting worried! X

TheCake · 30/03/2016 22:01

Fantastic news on the NIFTYresults EVS

Northern I have been taking aspirin since I found out I was pregnant, but that was due to previous misscarriage and was discussed with me. Seems strange they would put it in your notes without discussing it with you first. Could you ring your midwife tomorrow? X

evs34 · 31/03/2016 08:15

Good luck for scans today x
