Fireman I think I'd be going insane not knowing a date! Ours is a week today.

Also have the ILs staying at the moment, they and my parents are the only people who we've told, and boh were suitably positive, which was nice. Am just enjoying a brief moment of peace though as they've nipped to the shops.

pinkbuttons · 28/03/2016 15:20

Hello all, good luck to those with scans this week.
12+5 here and sickness although better is still making me feel rubbish and I'm really ready to feel normal now!
I had to phone about my scan as had no date. It's not till 6th April when I'll be 14 weeks, apparently they have until 14+1 so receptionist not concerned at all but I can't help feel frustrated it's an extra 2 weeks of keeping this huge secret that is making me feel so unwell.
As well as struggling to hide it for much longer, have definitely "popped out" this week.
Sorry that was bit of a moan!
Congratulations to those who have already had good scans, lovely to start seeing some pictures of these babies coming in Smile
Hope everyone's been able to enjoy the Easter weekend despite the weather.

Alwaysinahurrynow · 28/03/2016 15:38

Good luck with the Harmony test. I had mine last Thursday but with Easter, I'm not holding out much hope for a quick result. I've got my scan on Wednesday so looking forward to that now.

We spent most of Friday looking at 7-seaters. Think we're probably going to get a S-Max, I actually spotted a family in the next street with one and three children and walked over to ask them about it. Think they probably thought I was bonkers! Anyone got one or one of the other vans MPVs?

BadlyWrittenPoem · 28/03/2016 16:12

I don't know when my scan is yet as I only booked on Friday so the MW said she'd start phoning on Tuesday to arrange my scan.

Always we need to get a seven seater before this one is born. I went on Which and made a list but then I got too sick to be trailing round garages. Hopefully in two or three months I can manage it!

BadlyWrittenPoem · 28/03/2016 16:15

I'm struggling to hide my bump too. Last pregnancy it was Autumn when I started to get a bump so I hid it under jumpers but I don't think I can do that this time. I've never been so big this early on and it's all fat because I have to eat to stop myself being sick. It feels somewhat ironic that the sickness is making me fat!

Afreshstartplease · 28/03/2016 16:19

I have a definite bump

I'm waiting for some brave soul to pluck up the courage to out me at work

The underneath of my belly button even feels like its poking out already

pod100 · 28/03/2016 16:50

I still don't have a scan date either which is doing my head in! Have my second appt with the midwife on Thursday at 9+6 and I'm told that they contact the hospital to arrange the scan date and blood tests after that. They obviously have different ways of working in different areas. Really hope I don't have to wait until 14 weeks for the scan!!

Alwaysinahurrynow - I looked at S-Max's a couple of months ago but went with a Grand C-Max in the end. Would highly recommend it as the rear doors slide rather than opening out, so I figured that would make it much easier to manage in confined parking spaces. It's a seven seater too, although there is very limited boot space if all seven seats are up (same in the S-Max) but totally fine if you only have five seats up. It drives really nicely, much bigger than my old car but once we have a baby and buggy and shopping it will definitely have been a good investment. Really good fuel economy too. I bought it just after new year and have only filled it up twice so far!

Alwaysinahurrynow · 28/03/2016 18:19

I think the grand c-max might be the same as our current estate in that you can't get three car seats across the second row, but will do some more investigating, thanks.

Peppaspants · 28/03/2016 18:35

I've got an smax and I love it! Definitely can get three car seats across the back and the boot is huge. Feels a bit 'sporty' compared to other 'mum buses' and mine has been really reliable.

Havetobecrazytolivehere · 28/03/2016 18:41

12+1 here and have my scan on Friday, feel queasy just thinking about it!

Am starting to feel a bit more positive, think the sunshine has helped and I went through my cupboard (I have a whole wardrobe of outgrown clothes) and made a list of baby stuff I already have. I know it's a bit early but It was good to reminisce on all the tiny clothes and seemed more productive than worrying.
SIL has taken the older two out for an egg hunt and sleepover so we have been a family of three today. Went out to lunch, read a book while she was napping and have ordered a takeaway. Kind of reminds me how easy it was with one but am already missing them!

Looking forward to seeing all the scan pics and (hopefully) being able to share my good news in RL.

athousandsplendidsuns · 28/03/2016 18:46

10+5 still waiting for a scan date. Need nausea to go so I can enjoy Easter eggs.

TeaGirl3 · 28/03/2016 20:21

Hope you've all had a lovely Easter!

My scan is on Thursday, which I'm excited / apprehensive about as its my first one ever. Just keeping everything crossed!

I've started to develop a dry cough today, which is really annoying. Feeling slightly achy too, so I hope it's just a cough/cold and not the on set of flu.

Good luck to everyone having scans this week!

Paige84 · 28/03/2016 21:31

Hi all

Hope everyone's had a lovely long weekend. Still another 8 days until my scan, I'll be 13+2. I cautiously got myself a doppler (after a huge debate with myself about freaking me out more if I couldn't find a heartbeat because it was too small etc) I love it! Have managed to find it everyday so far, nice and steady around 160/min.

Worked a night shift last night so I'm more than the usual level of exhausted this evening!
Good luck to everyone with scans this week :)

IrisPurple1 · 28/03/2016 22:10

Has anyone been so tired / run down that you've had to say no to a friend and then been consumed by guilt?

My friend texted an hour ago asking if she could come over whilst she waited to pick her fella up from a nearby pub at 10.30. I was just about to get ready for bed and couldn't face staying up til 10.30 pretending to feel human, I'm already dreading getting up for work after the clock change.

I have over 2 weeks' wait for my scan and I have a list as long as my arm of people I need to go back and explain myself to - why I bailed out on them / not been in touch to arrange a get-together/ been quiet on a night out / not eaten their food / rubbish theatre/choir performances / yawning all afternoon at work... the list goes on. My husband is currently being pestered by a couple we're friends with trying to organise a trip mountain climbing - travelling by motorbike!!!

I got a text from my stepsister the other day saying she'd not seen us at the evening do of her wedding. I'd forced myself to stay for an hour and a half, desperately tired, full of a cold and bloated from the huge wedding breakfast. The rest of my family didn't bother turning up at all so we didn't know a soul.

Arrgh!!

Anyway, good luck to everyone who has scans this week- they're coming thick and fast now! ShamrockEaster Wink

dottydimples · 29/03/2016 00:23

Iris, do not beat yourself up about cancelling plans/not going along with plans. That's one thing I have learnt in my almost 11 weeks of being pregnant - be selfish.

If you want to and can do - then sleep/eat/vomit. I'm sure once you share your happy news with friends and family it will click and they will understand Grin

Hope everyone's okay and had a good Easter. Last week I went through a phase of 'not feeling pregnant' - most of my symptoms have almost gone, but every now and then I randomly gag/feel an overwhelming feeling of just wanting to sleep wherever I am/feel really really bloated like I've eaten a couple of inflated balloons. My scan is in 2 weeks time, feels like I've been pregnant forever! Blush

IrisPurple1 · 29/03/2016 07:50

Thanks Dotty. I just worry is that I may not have happy news to share...

It's good that you're feeling good pregnant again, even though it means you're feeling grotty. My own symptoms lessened at 9w but came back. It seems to have happened to a few of us.

When is your scan?

climbingcheesecake · 29/03/2016 08:59

Iris I am also feeling guilty for cancelling and not doing things that I would usually do. I hate lying, but this morning I had to tell someone that I could do a previously arranged commitment (sport related) because I was just too tired. I told them I had to work instead :-( It makes me feel so guilty that I spend the whole time wondering if I should have gone anyway!

I don't seem to be sleeping well at all - which is not helping the tiredness - is anyone else really restless at night? I don't know if its a normal pregnancy thing or if its because I am anxious.

BigPigLittlePig · 29/03/2016 09:25

I have retreated somewhat from normal life - I suppose I'm "lucky" in that I work 60 hr weeks so blaming it on work just gets an understanding face and that's the end of it. Last time round I was less selfish but paid for it - even though we have visitors at the mo, I've been going to bed by 9 else the nausea is so so much worse.

Also suffering with insomnia, which didn't happen last time. No idea why. Wake at 4 or 5 shattered still and yet unable to nod off. And then when I do, the alarm goes off! Argh!

BadlyWrittenPoem · 29/03/2016 10:00

Although inconvenient and not much fun it's kind of handy that between them my children have been ill for the last three weeks as it's given me a genuine excuse for not going to things. DH keeps throwing strops about how we should tell everyone to explain why we can't do things. I keep pointing out to him that nobody else does so why should we. We did when I was hospitalised/bedridden but I refuse to announce early when we don't have to. I don't think he appreciates that most people aren't at normal capacity in the first trimester.

Shropitlikeitshot · 29/03/2016 10:05

bigpig that's me, awake at 4 every morning. Nod off at 6. Alarm at 6.30. 😭

Tallblue · 29/03/2016 11:10

I also still have insomnia, it's exhausting! My 19 month is sleeping nicely through the night and I'm lying awake for seemingly no reason.

Also having killer headaches, even resorted to taking paracetamol a few times, which I know is ok in pregnancy but I'd rather not take anything at this stage. But on three separate days I've had a headache so bad I just couldn't cope without taking something. I think it's linked to sinuses as my nose also hurts. Hoping it clears off soon.

A close friend of mine, who I told about my pregnancy in confidence, said to me today 'just so you know, you look pregnant'- she meant it in a kind way, knowing I don't want other people to know yet, but I still felt a bit Easter Shock

evs34 · 29/03/2016 11:11

I am also looking pregnant at just 11+3. Certainly earlier than with the other 2. All my clothes look terrible and feel uncomfortable. It hurts my lower abdo if I keep sucking it in!
Still can't hear heart with Doppler which is a little worrying as could hear from 10 weeks last time. Waiting for nifty- thurs hopefully. All the worrying is really taking its toll now. Thank goodness there is a lot of chocolate in the house! Fingers crossed for all the scans this week x

goldenpineapple · 29/03/2016 11:29

I have also been avoiding people until we can tell them, its really hard. 11+1 today and still no scan date so its not even like theres an end in sight to the secrecy! Driving me slightly bananas - couldn't believe it when the postman walked straight past our house this morning - I was sure I'd get the letter today!

First easter ever that I've had no chocolate - I'm normally a total chocoholic but I just haven't wanted it at all since I got pregnant, which is very sad. Thought nausea and vile, vile taste in mouth had gone but have been back and worse this last few days.

Flu jab this afternoon, not looking forward to this as I hate needles and thought I'd avoided it due to it being so late in the season but midwife recommended I have it. Then second attempt at getting bloods tomorrow, hoping veins play ball this time.

Hope everyone had lovely Easter and that at least some of you got to enjoy the chocolate!

fairgroundsnack · 29/03/2016 11:39

Hi everyone - scan all good this morning, although had to get the willy-probe out to have a look at baby's brain as it wasn't playing ball! Amazing how it has gone from a blob with a heartbeat a month ago to an actual fully formed person with fingers and toes now. Had the bloods done for the Harmony test so will get the results of that - including the flavour - in 2 weeks. I have my NHS 12 week scan on Monday so will be having lots of looks at bubba over the next few weeks!

Figgygal · 29/03/2016 13:02

Fairground thanks for the reminder that a vaginal scan could still be on the cards will get myself ready for that just in case it is needed on Thursday though I will be 13 weeks by then so unlikely.

I have agreed with my Dr that I will get flu jab at the start of April once have had the 12 week scan and know that I will need it, they have kept supply for me to get it next week assuming all goes well Thursday.
