Oh dotty that sounds tough, very similar to how I felt with dd. At the time it feels you can't ever imagine feeling human again, but it does get better, gradually Flowers

Dh told me to get a grip today after I stared and stared at the drink menu in our local cafe and couldn't decide. I half snarled back at him about the very thought of every single thing making me want to puke. He had the good grace to keep quiet afterwards.

Afreshstartplease · 20/03/2016 16:33

Urgh

I just fell asleep for like fifteen minutes and have woken up with a horrendous sore throat and ear ache

How is that possible

MsFiremanSam · 20/03/2016 16:57

Also paranoid that my luck has run out this time - don't know why I looked but I was reading the antenatal choices board last night and scared myself about Downs, Edwards etc.

SimileMilly · 20/03/2016 17:01

Successful day, I have a spreadsheet! Owner of lovely local pram shop conveniently owns the same car as me so assured us our chosen travel system will fit it.

Downside of today is nausea has hit with a vengeance and I'm back to being paranoid something will go wrong.

Afreshstartplease · 20/03/2016 17:17

What prams are people looking at?

SimileMilly · 20/03/2016 17:35

We narrowed it down to a Bugaboo Cameleon and an iCandy Peach but think we're going for the peach on the basis it's future baby-proof and more guaranteed to fit in my car.

Afreshstartplease · 20/03/2016 17:39

The peach does look lovely however the price isn't!,

I'm looking under 500

This is gonna be last baby for me so no using it again

I've had m&p travel systems before and had no issues so I might look there first

pod100 · 20/03/2016 18:01

Feel absolutely huge today. Went shopping and found a nice top in next's new S/S collection which is floaty and gathered at the bottom which will be ideal for work over next couple of weeks to hide bump, and I'll get a decent amount of wear out of it as bump grows too.

Afreshstartplease · 20/03/2016 18:04

I'm feeling pretty massive too

Keep telling myself it's because it's DC4 but can't help also wondering if I'm either further along or having more than one

Gigglebert · 20/03/2016 18:11

Sorry, can't remember who asked but in regards to crazy pregnancy itchiness... I really struggled with it first time around! eventually a lovely midwife recommended porridge baths and they were amazing and helped calm my skin in the evenings! combined with aveeno cream in the mornings (on minor ailments!) I was sorted!

To make a porridge bath: cut a leg off an old pair of tights, add a cup or two of porridge oats, tie tightly and place in the bath when its running... Once in the bath use the porridge as a scrub through the tights for any extra itchy areas! Sounds weird but seriously amazing and well worth a try x

SimileMilly · 20/03/2016 18:16

Porridge baths are one of the few things that keep on top of DD's eczema. We've been prescribed various steroid creams and ointments but nothing stops her scratching and soothes her skin like a porridge bath. We use old Muslins instead of tights

Afreshstartplease · 20/03/2016 18:18

Anyone know which throat sweets are safe?

I know strepsils are not

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 20/03/2016 18:19

Dotty that sound rubbish. I've been crying randomly too - mainly because I'm sick of feeling sick, then feel guilty because I should be grateful that I'm pregnant. DH is convinced that this one is a girl because I didn't feel anywhere near this bad with DS.

We have three pushchairs at the moment - a bugaboo buffalo, which I love but it's very big and heavy, a bjcm lite which lives in the car, and my DM has an m&p armadillo flip which is great. I'm hoping that I won't need a double - DS will be 28 months and is a great walker. My plan is to use a sling for new baby initially and use the pushchair for DS, and see how we go. Is this a silly plan? Those expecting number 2 or more, what do you plan on doing?

Afreshstartplease · 20/03/2016 18:22

Dd will be 3.6 when baby arrives so I'll get a buggy board

When I had DC1&2 16 months a part I did need a double

DC1 wouldn't entertain a buggy board until well over 2 and a half

dottydimples · 20/03/2016 18:59

I was moaning about being itchy and fidgety...I will definitely try the porridge bath. However, we don't currently have a bath - a lovely big walk in shower, but no bath Sadwill be going round the in laws during the week with my porridge tights.

This is actually something I've been a little concerned about - when the little one is here, bathing in a baby bath/sink will be fine for some months, but then what? Can I shower a baby? Should we get a bath installed?!

You can probably all tell this is my first pregnancy from all of my moaning!

Prams, I haven't even thought about! We got a babies'r'us magazine in one of our Bounty packs, so may have a look in there for some inspiration. I think we just want something with good wheels and isn't a nightmare to pack up. There's so much to think about. I just can't wait until I can start getting excited about it all and actually start buying stuff.

Gigglebert · 20/03/2016 19:30

We used a baby bath until our wee one was about 5 months, now we bath her occasionally but its far easier to take her in the shower for a quick wash and the bath is really more for fun for her. Don't think a bath is a necessity but would be nice to have

fish88 · 20/03/2016 19:35

12 weeks tomorrow, looking forward to my scan on Thursday Grin

dotty we have a bath but the hot tap doesn't work very well. Once my boy grew out of the baby bath we just took him in the shower with us. He loves his showers now and only ever goes in the bath at nanna's house.

He will be nearly 3 years when bump arrives so not bothering with a double but will need a new travel system. Currently considering the armadillo flip and the new cosatto air.

I need a pram that parent faces into toddlerhood, lies flat from birth without a carrycot and can attach a car seat. Ideally it will fold with the seat still on but this is not essential. If anyone has any other suggestions that check these boxes please let me know! Not bothered about designer brands, would prefer under £500.

Afreshstartplease · 20/03/2016 19:37

I had looked at the air too, I like the light blue one but I'm unsure if I'd prefer a proper carrycot

BigPigLittlePig · 20/03/2016 19:45

Babies are fine in the shower - tbh the sooner the better as we had hard work to convince dd to gl anywhere near a shower when we first tried at 12m+. Also, don't underestimate the value of a warm kitchen sinkful of water for a quick dip. Dd's first bath was in he kitchen sink Grin.

To whoever it was who said about sling and pram - I don't think your mad! Dd was premature and I didn't even know suitable slings existed, so I used our maxi cosi travel system, which was fine but relatively big. Once she was "big enough" for a sling, the pram just gathered dust. We still have it in the cupboard, but I fully intend to get a nice sling once this baby is here. Fond memories of pottering around the supermarket v early in the day with a snoozig dd in the sling, tucked away under a coat.

Glad you managed to narrow your choices down, Simile - love a good spreadsheet!

Gigglebert · 20/03/2016 20:04

fish I LOVE our stokke scoot... Does everything you've mentioned and is Stoll going strong after 2.5years (and and has survived a fair few airlines including a trip to Australia!)

Afreshstartplease · 20/03/2016 21:01

Just looked at the stokke scoot, it's lovely! But again I am drawn to having a "proper" carrycot

climbingcheesecake · 20/03/2016 21:02

I am 12 weeks today if my dates are correct!.
Also freaking out about scan, can't remember if its thurs or fri I will ring to check tomorrow . Can't believe its real, and worrying something will be wrong.

also, got invited to lunch yesterday by work and asked if there was anything I didn't eat - wasn't quite sure how to say without giving the game away so no (idiot), and we had something with a blue cheese sauce and palma ham.

I had to eat it though because I was going to be sick I was so hungry and couldn't really refuse.

I don't think I have a bump but I feel massive and bloated and haven't been able to wear normal jeans for ages now.

Afreshstartplease · 21/03/2016 06:17

10+2 today and I don't feel sick which is a bloody good job because I feel terrible in many other ways!

Full of a cold, sort throat , sore ears. Head is banging, been up a lot in the night then with dd since 5

And full day at work ahead

Shropitlikeitshot · 21/03/2016 06:37

Scan this afternoon 😁 Eeeeeeeek.

SimileMilly · 21/03/2016 07:22

Good luck shrop!

I've woken up feeling decidedly unpregnant at 12+2 today. Is that normal? I should really be grateful but instead I'm worrying.
