Scan was great - so nice to see Pepper! He or she is 56 mm long and my dates were spot on. Due 28th September. The list says 29th for me so would be grateful if someobe could update it. NT measurement was good too. I had to nip out of the scan to empty my bladder a bit so the sonographer could see the baby! They lied when they said I should drink a pint of water at least an hour beforehand!

Ah that's fab! Great that the NT measurement was good too. You must be very relieved!

dottydimples · 18/03/2016 15:56

Thanks ladies for the tips for my annoying restlessness! I'll definitely try the tonic (no gin Sad).

Glad your scan went well lioness. Mines on 12th April, day after my birthday! Hope you all have a fab weekend!CakeChocolateHalo

Does anyone have any tips for dealing with nausea? For the past few weeks I've felt dreadful every afternoon, and it doesn't improve until the following morning. Luckily I'm not actually sick, just nauseous with lots of dry retching (sorry TMI).

Glad the scan went well leonie. Mine isn't until the 14th April - feels so long away!

Sorry about the restless legs dotty - sounds very annoying.

Hope everyone else is well.

LisaTheGreek · 18/03/2016 18:19

Schnitzel - have you tried sea bands?

They don't always work, and sometimes take a while to kick in, but I find they take the edge off and can be really helpful.

Only a couple of quid on Amazon, and they're probably in shops too.

Otherwise, nibbling on food (almost constantly). Something dry, to keep the worst nausea away.

athousandsplendidsuns · 18/03/2016 18:33

I agree with the constant eating - I'm fed up of being full all the time and gaining weight rapidly, but if I don't eat something every hour or two, I end up dry retching and then it's even harder to get myself to eat something. I think that's why I'm only actually sick (well not that's there's much to throw up) first thing, coz my stomach has got empty. Roll on the end of nausea! I'm 9 + 2 and had it til 14/15 weeks last time.

pod100 · 18/03/2016 19:41

Just had my early scan. All good, and only one in there, thank god! Saw the yolk sack and heartbeat flickering away. It was measuring 7+5, when I had thought I would have been 8+3 today! It's real now Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 18/03/2016 20:54

Lovely to hear good scan news!

Schnitzel I think just trial and error - first time round I found that fruit pastilles helped keep things at bay. Can't entertain the idea of them now, but they were all that seemed to help at the time. Trying to find something to keep your sugar levels up would be good.

Coughing here seems to lead to dry retching - cough/heaved my way round the kitchen making breakfast this morning. Dd thought it was hilarious. I did not.

Planeteer · 18/03/2016 23:42

Dotty the itchiness hit me this week and it's driving me crackers! Legs and torso are crazy itchy and I've got patches of eczema on my hands (never had this before). Going to hit Boots hard tomorrow for lotion and try not to scratch my skin off in the meantime. Good grief pregnancy does weird things to you doesn't it?! I'm only 9+1, so I can only imagine what other delights are in store! Hope the tonic and aloe vera combo has helped yours!

Afreshstartplease · 19/03/2016 07:28

I've had some itchiness on my legs this week too which I've not had in previous pregnancies

On a brighter note 10 weeks today!

Figgygal · 19/03/2016 07:41

Thousand I feel full all the time too and then feel I'll I felt sick all night last night but had quite a small dinner. The combination of belching and constipation is horrid and I seem have blocked sinuses so every time I bend over I feel like my head is going to explode. I ended up in bed with splitting headache last night it's still around as are the sinus pains I'm digging out the aspirin this morning.

Afreshstartplease · 19/03/2016 07:46

Aspirin isn't safe is it?

JulietteL · 19/03/2016 08:02

Nope. Just paracetamol, sadly.

10+5 for me and I just feel dreadful. Can't wait for the mythical glowy part!

Afreshstartplease · 19/03/2016 08:04

I've never glowed in previous three pregnancies so I'm not expecting that!,

I am realistic lol I know I will just go from one lot of bad symptoms to the next

Sickness
Heartburn
Spd

Sometimes all three at once

Figgygal · 19/03/2016 08:24

I didn't have any symptoms at all last time except carpal tunnel in my hands and wrists it was agony i really hope I don't get it again. I'm definitely more tired this time round.

Yes sorry paracetamol.

11+2 today

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 19/03/2016 08:35

Thanks Lisa, bigpig, thousand. I'll pick up some sea bands today. I've tried the constant eating, but haven't come across anything that helps yet - bread and toast helped initially but now the thought makes me retch. This pregnancy lark is so delightful!

Another lovely symptom that seems to have appeared - itchy boobs. I forgot about this from last time!

MyBreadIsEggy · 19/03/2016 08:43

Great to hear from those of you with great scan news Smile
I was feeling better with the help of my antisickness tablets.....but woke up feeling rotten today. I have a mixture of morning sickness and general illness which is a terrible combo.
DH is flapping because he's trying to do things around the house but DD (11mo) is having none of it - she wants to help....I'm just watching from the sofa and relishing in it, considering he comes home some days and asks "what have you been doing all day" Hmm

Bluecarrot · 19/03/2016 11:10

figgy I had carpal tunnel last time. Was only just at the stage where I could drive for half an hour before my hands were in pain.
from 9w this time I've been waking up with numb arms.
My aunt is a physio ( specialising in hands... Handy ;) ) and said the best thing to do is to get a splint on each hand.
I'm dreading later when I can't wash my hair or push pram far, or drive 2 hrs to in laws.... Oh... Wait ;)

Bluecarrot · 19/03/2016 11:16

Also feeling really pants. Basically lay on the sofa all day yesterday except for going to a Drs apt.
Feel really frustrated, as I normally am a multitasking master!
Considered doing some sewing but don't think my brain is fully functioning enough to work out new stuff... Or energy to drag the sewing stuff out.

SimileMilly · 19/03/2016 13:55

I had the start of carpal tunnel last time and have been waking up with pins and needles in my hand the last few days. Great.

We had friends round last night and I fell asleep 😳 !! Can't wait for this exhaustion to go!

Afreshstartplease · 19/03/2016 14:13

Think I may also have had touch of carpal tunnel with DC3

Really hope I can get away without much pain this pregnancy

Never been so exhausted in early stages so hopefully I might get a glow later

Tomkat79 · 19/03/2016 15:43

I think I may as well just set up camp in the kitchen. Mainly next to the toaster!!!! Shock

MyBreadIsEggy · 19/03/2016 15:57

Totally embarrassed myself at lunchtime.....threw up in a bush in the supermarket car park, almost at the feet of an elderly gentleman Blush I apologised profusely and staggered to the shop Blush

BigPigLittlePig · 19/03/2016 16:37

Oh eggy Sad

I drove past someone a few weeks ago who had had to pull over on the dual carriageway to vom out the door of her car. So little warning!

Hope everyone has been able to relax a bit so far this weekend.

Tomkat79 · 19/03/2016 18:18

Is anyone's belly sticking out yet?! This is my 4th pregnancy and people at work are already commenting!!!! I'm almost 11 weeks! Just released myself from my non maternity jeans as was struggling to get a good lung full of breath!
