Hello July gang, please may I join in? I can't lie, I've been stalking you for a few weeks days so I thought I should poke my head around the door and 'fess up Smile

I'm 23+4 with DC2, DD is nearly 2, eek!

Looking forward to chatting with you all of you'll have me!

Scase1firsttimemum · 23/03/2016 15:13

Welcome Dats Smile lovely group of ladies here

BelOfTheBall79 · 23/03/2016 16:34

Welcome dats!

Holiday starts in 1 hour for me. Can't wait, am off for a whole week! Not 'going' anywhere though. But excited anyway!

Thom80 · 23/03/2016 17:34

Bel - my holiday is starting shortly. So excited!! Like you, I am staying around but looking forward to resting my swollen ankles. I asked for a foot stool to be ordered for me today, so I will be able to elevate my legs, it is the small things in life that make me excited now!

Thom80 · 23/03/2016 17:37

Bluebel - I asked my MW if it could be a UTI but apparently my urine was clear. It is also a sign of dehydration but I constantly drink water. I am not sure it would be healthy to drink more. I have been religious about it since starting IVF as the clinic said it is good to be hydrated.

SpeakNoWords · 23/03/2016 19:07

Hi dats, welcome!

We're off too for nearly a week over Easter, going to see family which will be fab. Hope everyone has a good Easter break!

25+1

Cookiesandcoffee · 23/03/2016 21:26

Welcome dats
scase I'm really glad your boss sounds like they're being much more reasonable. Sorry to hear your SPD is so bad. Hope the physio comes through quick.

bluebell I read an article on your heart rate during pregnancy the other day. It said the 140 bpm limit was outdated, (not sure of the 160) as generally speaking it's how hard you're working - eg can you talk? If you think on a scale of 1-10 being where 10 is physically ' going for it' where you can't speak etc, you shouldn't aim to go higher than a 6-7. Able to speak. And not let yourself get too hot/dehydrated etc.
Yum to the cheese and crackers. Cheese is still in my top 3 pregnancy foods Smile

allthegood I would go crazy if someone was referring to the baby like that. My in laws do it but it's an on going joke because the name is awful and something I'd obviously not use. They're lucky my crazy hormones are generally at bay (so far). That's very pushy behaviour, I think I might have had to say something by now. Sorry to hear about your migrane. Make sure you rest up with lots of water Thanks hopefully it will pass and you can get back to the '2nd trimester'

I got paid and bought a few nursery bits today from mothercare. Got a blanket in the sale and some sheets. all our bedding was pink and been used with two children so has all gone for recycling

Cookiesandcoffee · 23/03/2016 22:36

Oh and just to add, Mothercare had 1/3 off nipple cream (lansinoh) so was £7.30 rather than £10. Would thoroughly recommend!

Hi lovely ladies!

Back from Rome, feet just about recovered after miles of walking - clearly didn't eat enough gelato! It was so lovely though - hope everyone with much deserved breaks over Easter has a wonderful time.

Like you Kaytee I'd written a looong catch up post which disappeared off my phone - Grrrrr! So annoying! Apologies if I miss anything as now pushed for time.

Thom - great news on the scan - fantastic!

Indians - Congratulations!!!!!! Grin

Eliz - so glad you're starting to feel better. Have a wonderful time in Cornwall and say hello to the sea for me. All my family are from a little village called Cawsand (very beautiful) and despite being a born and bred, landlubbing Brummie, I do so love the Cornish sea.

Bluebell - I totally agree with Cookies don't worry! i think as long as you're not skiing or white water rafting exercise is good, just make sure you don't overheat. Also, HR is higher in pregnancy so that 140bpm isn't terribly helpful as a guideline (quell surprise), as long as you can chat a bit, you're ok!

Allthegood - hope your migraine gets better soon x

Scase - you poor thing with SPD. I can sympathise after having horrible back pain for a few weeks. Really hope you get some treatment to ease it, pain is really tiring and wears you down. Sending (gentle) hugs x

I've got a workshop today for a project we've been working on for two years and only just got funding - really nervous! All working towards a festival in May, hoping I haven't taken too much on Confused Eeeek! Wish me luck!

Loving all the baby names - we've got a couple and like some other ladies not sharing to avoid 'helpful' opinions from DH's parents!

Happy nearly Easter all xxxx

Cheery1 · 24/03/2016 08:43

Know I'd forget something!

Welcome Dats Smile

Thom80 · 24/03/2016 09:07

Cheery - good luck, it sounds very exciting!

Thom80 · 24/03/2016 09:33

Hi - does anyone know if it is ok to eat shop bought sandwiches? I thought it was ok but my husband thinks not. It is making me worried about whether to have one or not!

Cheery1 · 24/03/2016 09:44

Thanks Thom!

Blimey hope it's ok to eat shop sandwiches! I've steered clear of prawns but you should be fine, just high in salt usually....

Cheery1 · 24/03/2016 09:49

Also if you're worried ask at counter, I did that in Pret as wasn't sure what kind of ham was in one of their sandwiches and the manager came out with massive book of guidelines, whole chapter on preggie food. They really don't want to poison you so they're extra careful!! X

Welcome dats!

Cookies and Cheery, thanks for the bpm advice. My pulse rate definitely runs high anyway - pre-pregnancy it was about 85bpm resting. I have heard the thing about it being okay as long as you are able to hold a conversation - I checked in the gym the other day by talking to myself; people must have thought I was nuts :)

Cheery I am super envious of your holiday - I hope the gelato was scrumptious. I went down to the village shop this morning to buy bread and very nearly bought a Solero while I was there, but decided that 8.20am was too early for ice cream! Might pop back a bit later though; it's playing on my mind...

Thom I have been eating lots of shop-bought sandwiches. If they've got mayo in, just check the ingredients to see that it's been made with pasteurised egg.

Anyone else got really dry skin? My hands have suddenly gone mega scaly - I am overdosing on moisturiser!

I've started to definitely get that spring cleaning / nesting impulse. Spent all of yesterday afternoon cleaning when I should have been working - oops. So lovely now that I'm not tripping over piles of crap everywhere, though. My husband and I both have lots of hobbies and are not naturally neat and tidy, which can make for a bit of a nightmare domestic environment!

birchybaby2 · 24/03/2016 12:34

Hiya. Sainsbury have got 25%off clothing if anyone interested in picking up a few baby bargains. Think it's till Monday. Mite have just had to pick up babygrows, vests, a t shirt and couple of pairs of shorts oops. Oh and bits for the big sister. Happy Easter everyone. In Saturday but then off for 8 days yippeeeeeeeee xx

FifiRebel · 24/03/2016 12:56

Thanks birchy for the tip. Thom I've had loads of pret sandwiches throughout the pregnancy, I've only skipped the ones that have Parma ham in them.

Bluebell20 · 24/03/2016 13:26

Indians I shall look out for that, thanks. I usually use Dr Organic Vitamin E, but it is just not heavy duty enough for my dragon paws! Also hear you on the spotty boobage.

Should be working today, but seem to be crocheting my baby blanket instead.....! I'm making an African Flower Hexagon one... Three hexagons down, 61 to go!

Cookiesandcoffee · 24/03/2016 13:49

bluebell they are beautiful! That is going to be one amazing blanket. I wish I had such skills. You will definitely have to share once it is complete. With regards to talking when exercising where I am constantly shouting over the mic in my classes I'm so used to talking and exercising that it's just the norm for me?! So I have no idea where my 'limit' is Hmm never mind! I know a lady who is due any day and I saw her at Crossfit last week!

Make the most of the nesting! I did clean out a cup board the other day .. It's coming!

birchy I got an email earlier have been meaning to check online, thanks for the tip. Our Sainsburys is very small and basic so I usually get stuff online. I really like their school summer dresses for DD. They sound some good buys!

thom I eat shop bought sandwiches allll the time. Including prawn ones. Having said that they're usually from the Waitrose petrol station so figure Waitrose aren't going to poison me with dodgy prawns. I usually wouldn't eat them but this pregnancy has got me wanting them allll the time. I'm with indians though I've been very slack re guidelines

cheery glad you had a lovely trip away. Yum to all the ice cream.. I've been known to sit with a tub of Ben and Jerrys recently..
Good on you for lots of walking. Hope you got to see lots of lovely places and took lots of photos. Rome is one of my top 3 places I want to go, so very jealous

Scase1firsttimemum · 24/03/2016 15:38

I do want nesting to come on and soon!! Although OH has the week off so will get him to do some cleaningWink

Anyone else getting terrifying nightmares? Seriously they're horrible and I keep waking up crying from them. I had a night terror the other night, screaming and crying its horrible and really affecting sleepSad I really hope they go soon!!

Thanks for the tip on Sainsburys may take a trip down there and see what they got going on Smile

I have really bad memory and always want to reply to everyone but then forget what everyones said or whose said itConfusedBlush sorry.. I blame baby brain haha

mascaraisamust · 24/03/2016 16:06

I'm eating a shop bought sandwich right now Blush

Thom80 · 24/03/2016 16:43

Bluebel & Indian - I can't understand my skin. My hands are so dry & cracked but my back is covered in spots! It is an oily / dry skin nightmare!
I feel reassured, & have eaten my shop bought sandwich. Delicious!
Scase - my dreams are so livid. Not always nightmares but very real. I woke up shouting last night. That will give my neighbours something to think about!!
