Jealous of viability days. Mine is still 3 weeks away ish. (24 weeks right? Or is it 26)

I am also jealous of buggy shopping. I wish I could go get a new one but there isn't anything wrong with my uppababy really and I couldn't sell it for enough money to justify it! So will live my buggy dreams through you.

GoingLoopyQuickly · 22/03/2016 16:32

I am going to treat myself to a stretchy carrier (second hand but almost new at £15) and morw importantly another custkm reverse half buckle from wrapahula. I have a toddler one and although monster1 is probably a bit too big for it, it is way to big for his little sister and will be for a while!

Scase1firsttimemum · 22/03/2016 17:31

Yeah its 24 Goingloopy next is 28 weeks :)

Its been confirmed I have SPD and being referred for physio Sad I also have to do the dreaded glucose test as I fall under that category Hmm starve myself for 12 hours how am I gunna cope!!Shock well 14 hours actuallyEnvy not looking forward to that at all!

I asked midwife about BF and bottle feeding, she said I need to exclusively Bf for first couple of weeks to get my milk established and get used to everything and then should be okay to express and bottle feed on the occasional feed when OH wants a goGrin

Also got to hear his heart beat, and he is growing nicely where he should be :) so happy he seems so perfect already!! I cant wait to meet him and see his ickle face!!!

BelOfTheBall79 · 22/03/2016 19:22

Well done on viability celebrations!

I've been to the Dr today. Been feeling faint and dizzy. Got to have bloods and an ECG although the Dr didn't seem overly concerned so hopefully all OK! The little man is still kicking away in there.

Last day at work tomorrow for a whole week! Can't wait...

Sorry to hear you have SPD Scase. And I agree any thought of not eating for 14 hours would bother me too!

Loving the name chat. I feel I can't share mine even with you guys as we're not even telling close family. But one name on our list has already been mentioned. My mum asked today if we really weren't going to say anything til the baby comes. I was amazed as she better than anyone knows how stubborn I am!

primarynoodle · 22/03/2016 19:36

Just wanted to share my action shot of baby whacking the placenta today during the scan! Everything is looking good so far, biparietal diameter is a bit small but apparently this means pretty much nothing as measurements are so innacurate now!

Cant wait for the next 4 weeks to fly til the next one now! Dont know how you "normal" ladies are coping with no more scans between now and the big day.... id be out of my mind!

Scase, some advice will say never do it, some say six weeks, some say a couple of weeks. I started after two/three weeks but it took about 6 weeks for bfing to become more established and natural. Go with how you feel and what suits you.

What I will say is there is a lot of advertising for "hungry baby" formula and such like. When they are squishy, they just need milk milk and more milk. Weaning or introducing extra substance too early can really damage their digestive system. I started weaning my boy at almost 6 months with porridge and when he hit 6 months I think I tried too much too soon. Your baby will tell you what he needs. Mostly. Plus we will all be going through it together. And you only need to take each step as it comes. Everyone has their own style.

beckslovestimmy · 22/03/2016 20:37

Good evening everyone. This thread moves so fast, I read everyday but don't post too often. 27 weeks today and I realised yesterday that I only have 10 weeks left at work!!

Hope all of those feeling poorly get well soon.

Great scan pic primary.

Interesting talk about buggies. We have the baby style oyster from DD but I wouldn't recommend it. Can justify anything new this time. Also got a silver cross umbrella fold which we'll probably move onto much quicker this time. Still got our maxi cosy car seat with isofix so will use that.

I've only bought nappies and wipes so far! I kept all of DD clothes and we didn't find out the sex with her so got lots of neutral stuff we can use this time. Need to get it from mil's loft and start washing and sorting.

I had to get bigger uniform for work this week. I've been off for 2 weeks and have definitely grown!

Sophia1984 · 22/03/2016 20:38

primarynoodle Aww you have a little boxer in there! Mine seems to be doing the same to my bladder.. I've got another scan at 32 weeks cause of a low-lying placenta. At first I was worried, but it's good to know I get another chance for them to check everything is ok.

Cookiesandcoffee · 22/03/2016 21:07

Who else is setting down to watch One Born?! I'm shattered so collapsed in front of it. Throat is still really sore. elliz you do sound really poorly, take care of yourself.

scase I felt the same when I reached 24 weeks, felt like a milestone. Yey! Glad your appointment was good. Sorry to hear about SPD. Make sure you tell your employer! You have my deepest sympathy with the starvation, it's so hard. But have a nice feast the night before!

Great scan primary

Loving the name Leo/Leonardo! I'm trying my best to keep our name complete secret.. Incase he doesn't look like a '+++'... My best friend is trying to wear me down...

SpeakNoWords · 22/03/2016 21:17

I've just turned over to OBEM but my DP may complain!

Scase1firsttimemum · 22/03/2016 21:36

I love the name Leo, have a cousin called that Smile Ive shared my babies name with everyone, so have no problem sharing with you ladies although I feel like I have already.. His name is Jayden James Renyard (his fathers last name :) )

I had a crew meeting at work today and afterwards spoke with my Boss about SPD, holiday and mat leave as got matb1 form today he said we will go into more detail with mat leave in the next week or so. With regards to warning from Sunday he said I didnt receive one, hes basically said I can do what I want haha.. If I feel ill on shift I can go home, if Im in too much pain I can go home or have extra breaks, if I wanna split my break I can which was great to hear! Ive been able to really feel the pain of SPD whilst walking today so can tell its gunna start to affect my work, hoping Ill be able to make it to when I want to start my holiday/mat leave!! Which is the beginning of June. Doubt Ill take extra breaks because Im not the type of person who can willingly leave people struggling as we're getting busier and busier due to Monopoly starting! But Im gunna have to start listening to my body..

Lovely picture of your scan!! Id be going insane if I hadnt booked another 4D scan for just over 6 weeks time! Roll on 7th May so I can see my baby againGrin

Hope everyone is feeling okay! Work tomorrow after a nice 3 days off not looking forward to it to say the least.. Anyway Im gunna stop moaning now or this will be a veeeerrrrryyy long post haha!

AnnaT45 · 22/03/2016 21:46

Love Leo that's my god sons name! I really like murdo!! That's a seriously cool name.
I've not heard of a Jayden before Scasce but it's lovely, reminds me of Hayden which is nice!
Re telling family and friends names you like... I wouldn't. Everyone has an opinion and sometimes it can put you off! Go for what you two like and stick to your guns!

Eliz you poor thing. Defo go to dr. I hate to scare you but my friend was just in hospital for two days with tonsillitis as it got so bad her throat and mouth were swollen and affecting her drinking and airway. So please force them to check you out!!!

scasce I had SPD last time. It's horrid but two sessions with physio sites me out. In fact I'm keeping it at bay with doing what she told me last time. I hope for the same for you!

I went mental watching OBEM before I had DD and now bored of it but may watch it again! I've got my consultant tomorrow to discuss my delivery options. Feeling a bit nervous for some reason!!! Just don't want a horrible one that makes me upset as I'm a pregnant wimp. Taking DH to be my cheerleader Grin

minieggaddict · 22/03/2016 22:03

Watching One Born now after years of avoiding it! I'd totally forgotten they come out blue! As I won't get antenatal classes this time it's good to be reminded ha ha.

Scase - good news about work. Apart from all the standing up I don't know how you manage round all the food smells. Frying beef makes me urge lol. I could manage easily at Cadburys tho 😉

Scase1firsttimemum · 22/03/2016 22:39

It does make me feel sick sometimes, but through out the day I get used to it and then mainly makes me reaaalllyyy hungry!!

foobio · 23/03/2016 07:44

Morning all, half way through the week Grin (sorry if you work BHs)

Awesome scan pic primary. My little troublemaker had a manic day on Monday, belting me from the middle of the night and almost constant all day. Worried I've got a hyperactive one, but much calmer yesterday, so fingers crossed it was just a result of the vast amount of mini eggs I ate Blush I'll count my blessings that s/he hasn't discovered my bladder yet.

Hope your SPD improves with physio and doesn't cause you too much bother scase and so pleased your boss had become more understanding!

Rather pleased at work as a colleague is secretly 20 weeks and sought me out to have a moan about our mat policy changes, so I now have an allie and know someone IRL who is pregnant!

TMI update: had a leaky nipple overnight last night, luckily I noticed the wet patch so could make sure to wear a padded bra to work!

Ellizardo · 23/03/2016 07:51

Anna - GOOD LUCK today with consultant. Hope you get a nice one. Saw mine in Feb and she suggested VBAC but didn't push it. I'm sure you'll be fine and there is no shame in stating your preferences for what ever reasons, just as you shouldn't be forced to accept anyone's agenda. Let us know how it goes, and I will be in particular solidarity with you over the next few months!

ALso like you, I overdosed on OBEM until I had Ted and then I couldn't face it...all felt too horribly familiar: the endless monitoring, the griege walls, the pleather chairs... I've started recording this series though just in case!

you'll all be thrilled to know I woke up this morning feeling about 60% better!! i think i am actually on the mend! I can't believe it. before i dance the victory dance I am still going to see if i can get an appointment but the glands have reduced from golf ball to marble size and the throat is no longer like swallowing daggers, more like sandpaper.

there endeth the similes.

i will say that looking up a disease/infection on mumsnet is brilliant - hilarious and informative in equal measure. wish i'd looked up tonsillitis last week.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 23/03/2016 07:59

scase pleased to hear your employers have seen sense and sorted it all out.

In terms of names we've chosen ours but haven't told the family as yet. My mother is very domineering and will probably spend the next 15 weeks trying to change our minds about it. She's been emailing me lots of names that she thinks would be good - all of which I absolutely hate. She has now chosen her favourite one and keeps referring to the baby as that name every time I see her AngryI find it so annoying!

Have had a stonking migraine for the last couple of days and nausea to go with it along with my old friend insomnia. Feels like the horrible first trimester all over again Sad

Bluebell20 · 23/03/2016 08:13

Cute scan pic, primary!

I was a good girl last night and went to the gym after nearly a week's absence. Watched OBEM from the cross-trainer! Only did a 25 minute work-out though, split across the cycle and the cross-trainer. I'd been up at 5.40am for work and frankly I thought it was enough that I was even at the gym at 9pm - I wasn't going to push it!

Scase I'm delighted that your manager has been so reassuring - about time.

I have really started to notice if there are long periods where the baby isn't moving. I went about 7 hours on Monday without feeling him moved and was starting to freak out a bit. DH then played his mandolin next to my bump, and the baby started kicking immediately. It's really cool that he is responding to sound now!

I have my 25 week appointment today, at 26 weeks, whoops. I'm looking forward to being measured! The bump is kind of basketball sized at the moment - can't believe it's going to get bigger...

Bluebell20 · 23/03/2016 08:14

Argh, allthegood, I would go mental if anyone started referring to my baby as a name they had chosen!

Elliz so glad you are feeling a bit better!

Thom80 · 23/03/2016 08:26

Hi all - so excited. This is my last day at work until next Wednesday!! This will be our last break until the baby is born as I am saving the rest for my mat leave.
Saw the MW yesterday and was told because of my health complications they are very unlikely to let me go to 40 weeks, and the latest I can expect is 39, although it could be anythime from 36. I now need to recalculate all my thoughts on Mat leave. Just when I thought I had it all sorted!! It does mean it will definitely be a July baby. I am due on 28th July so there was the possibility of going into August.
This is probably TMI, but has anyone else had cloudy urine??!!!

Thom80 · 23/03/2016 08:26

P.S pleased that people are feeling better an sorry scase to hear about the SDP. Sounds painful

Bluebell20 · 23/03/2016 10:54

Aw yay Thom, enjoy your holiday! Isn't cloudy urine a sign of a UTI? Did your midwife do a urine test yesterday?

Just back from my midwife appointment. All good, lovely little heartbeat - baby kicked against the doppler so hard that she didn't listen for long! My blood sugar was apparently low, which I think is probably because I had a much later breakfast than normal this morning - but she told me I need to eat more frequently. No hardship there! So I have just had a lovely cheese and crackers mid-morning snack Wink.

For all you exercising ladies, I also asked about my pulse rate when I exercise. She said not to let it go over 160bpm. Which I have been doing: argh. I will be good from now on!

26 + 1

AnnaT45 · 23/03/2016 13:27

Thanks and glad you're on the mend Eliz!!! it went so well I didn't say anything he just told me the plan which was what we wanted! Due to what happened last time I'm not able to go over or be induced so I'll be booked for a c section. If I go into labour before then we are going to see how things are but after four hours if things aren't moving I'll be having a section. I'm
Due on 31 July and go to see them the week before but he thinks I'll be having it 1 August as 31 is a Sunday. Eeeekkkk!!! Feels real now. Hope you don't mind me staying in the July club!

Scase1firsttimemum · 23/03/2016 14:26

Felt sorry for DP last night as I surrounded myself with cushions and he had hardly any room, midwife suggested to help it a little bit although its getting worse and hurting when I walk, cant even sit up and cross my leg over its getting so painful, hope physio hurries up and contacts me Sad

Glad to hear people are getting better who werent 100% I seem to be allergic to work because near the times I got to leave I start feeling a little illHmm
