Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 46th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 45th grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 59th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. I really hope that worked!

Congratulations Wool, he is adorable!
Yay for DH feeling the Mertwins!
Hope you get a March baby Tri, they're the best Grin.
You are freaking me out now Feathered. I haven't actually got anything for my hospital bag yet. Had a Boots order to pick up on my London trip but I didn't go so will have to reorder all of that. I did spy mat pads in the hospital when I went in for monitoring so I think they might provide some of the essentials here. What's the view on buying new PJs/ lounging around clothes for hospital vs just making do with what I have?
I am about to start my last afternoon of work then tomorrow am off on a mini break with DH and DDog. It does involve crossing an international border but DH assures me he could get us back in less than 4 hours if necessary Hmm. I do believe him I saw his latest speeding ticket this morning, grrr but I'm not sure I'd want to sit in the car that long whilst in labour! Lucky Fruitman still has 5 weeks to go.
What does everyone else have planned?
Good luck on the pram hunt Kate

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 25/03/2016 12:34

Congrats wool and well done on the sneeze birth. I had 2nd degree tears too and they're not too bad. I am finding ibuprofen helps with the swelling from baby coming down hard and fast. I am sure that you must be so pleased... He is absolute perfection!

Whoever asked about maternity pads I have gone through 2 packs of the thick ones in 5 days and ready to move on to the thins. I also used 5 pairs of disposable pants with pads in the first couple of days. TBH it is nice not having to carry around soiled pants while in hospital or deal with stains in the first couple days at home. I bought some Primark full briefs that are doing me nicely now along with some stretchy microfiber ones from H&M.

Yay for DH feeling baby mer!

Had my first bath today after getting the all clear from MW this am. I feel like a new person!

lildottie · 25/03/2016 13:17

Ugh u have to get permission for a bath, this is news to me - discuss further.......

wool congratulations, wonderful news and well done on the sneeze birth.

I have also been debating the conundrum of how many of what to buy. Figured I would buy a pack or 2 and send dh out for more when I know how broken my foof is!

Kate good luck finding a pram

fruit I was planning to get some cheapies in primark for hospital, though not sure how cheap primark is these days, prices seem to have gone up.

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 25/03/2016 13:39

I think baths are usually OK lil I just wanted to check first as I have a couple of tears inside that have self dissolving stitches and I wanted to wait until I could feel them healing and the MW could confirm there was no infection before bathing. I also wanted to check what I could put in the bath. FYI I chosethis one

lildottie · 25/03/2016 22:10

Noted sky, thanks.... I assume shower was OK then as not submerging the nether regions?

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 25/03/2016 22:46

Oh yes they encouraged me to shower a couple of hours after the birth. It was the best shower ever.

lildottie · 25/03/2016 23:47

Thanks, my brain us in overdrive about what is actually going when and after I give birth after all the induction talk this week. Gave found myself on Google today looking at why ivf is induced.... Stillbirth risk thought to be 4times higher in ivf pregnancy from one study I found. Kind if focuses the mind on the bigger picture!!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 26/03/2016 01:08

Lots of first babies are super late coming out lil so that is another plus.

Catscatsandmorecats · 26/03/2016 07:01

Hello Viriods, I am coming to join you!

Currently 4+5 following two chemicals in this round of TTC and a mmc in 2013 pre DS1 so I'm a nervous one. The EPU have said I qualify for an early scan at 8 weeks so I am hoping this little bean sticks properly and we get good news then.

wool Congratulations! What a little beauty! And well done on such a fast delivery, very impressive.

fruitlovingmonkey · 26/03/2016 07:17

Welcome Cats and congratulations. Lots of us have been there with the post mc worries.
Thanks for the tips from the other side Sky!
Had a really weird experience yesterday. DH and I went to see a guy we have known for a few years in a professional capacity. He asked me if I wanted a water birth and started talking about how great they are and then pulled out his phone to show us pictures of his wife during hers. By during I mean literally during. Boobs floating on the water. Full on fanjo action shots. Holding the baby with the fanjo still on display....
I don't know if it's one of those cultural differences I will never get but I felt seriously awkward, not to mention DH who is awkward around a naked woman at the best of times!

Mermaid36 · 26/03/2016 08:59

Welcome cats - gx for a sticky baby!

fruit cultural differences? I'm not sure showing people pics of fanjo's (even if there is a baby) is acceptable in any culture! Shock

lildottie · 26/03/2016 09:18

Welcome cats and congratulations. Yay for early scan! It's amazing how blob like they are then compared to how baby like they are at 12weeks. Also here for hand holding from the previous mc team.

Thanks sky, so many pros and cons to weigh up. It's not really a question of if I agree to induction as dh would not be happy if I refused, but do I book induction for 39 weeks or closer to 40? I guess by the time I get to booking it I could feel differently anyway and just want it out! Woke up angry about the GTT palaver and them stopping the random glucose tests too. My brain is seriously full atm! Hopefully work will distract me today.

YogaPants · 26/03/2016 09:31

Welcome Cats! Gx for a sticky bean. We will be with you for handholds until you reach 8 weeks.

What a cutie Woolballs. You didn't even have time to let us know you'd gone into labour.

Yay for any shopping Feathered. I am not quite as up on getting my hospital bag ready as you but picking up a cot today.

FeatheredTail · 26/03/2016 09:32

Huge congrats Wool - he's lovely!

Welcome Cats and congrats to you too. GX for a sticky one.

I didn't mean to cascade my freaked-outed-ness to you guys Fruit and Lil! But seeing as I had literally nothing ready for the birth or baby, it seemed like the right time to get moving!

Good tips Sky. I think I may have slighty overdone it on the maternity pads, but I don't think I could trust DH to get the right ones. He'd most likely return with panty liners or tampons.

Fruit - what the actual......?!! Fanjo shots? Bobbing boobs? Unless you're in Scandinavia (I don't think you are) there is no 'cultural differences' rationale for such over share! Hahahahaha!

5hell · 26/03/2016 09:40

Woop woop! Slept in until 7 Smile (ignoring the numerous turning over wake ups and a 4am loo break)

fruit that is a bit weird; interesting, but weird. ..perhaps he's just an over-sharer in general!

Sorry you're full of worries lil ...from what I've heard inductions aren't booked in until fairly close to when they might happen, so hopefully u can get some good advice before then and see how u feel physically etc Flowers

Welcome cats waves

SockQueen · 26/03/2016 10:08

Nobody is taking any photos of me during whatever type of birth I have. Why would I want to look at them ever again?

Welcome cats and gx for a sticky one for you.

I've had two appointment letters today. One is for a GTT, which happens to be ON MY BIRTHDAY Angry and the other for a consultant obstetrician appointment, though I'm not really sure what it's for. Suspect a combination of the mw being unsure if Clomid "counted" as fertility treatment (all IVF pregnancies have to be seen, she wasn't sure about me) and having one of those "Oh crap, she's a doctor, better refer her just in case anything funny happens," moments. Confused

ChatEnOeuf · 26/03/2016 10:32

Sock I think MWs do freak at caring for medics, poor souls Wink

Welcome, Cats, hand holding here too. I'm calling up on Tues to try and get an early scan too.

Lil, I'd pick a convenient date and expect it to change if the unit is busy. I'm going early, but that's me!

Congrats Wool - lovely picture :)

Not sure about culture, but it seems people who have home births are more than happy to share the experience. My friend videoed hers and it's on Facebook.

FuzzyOwl · 26/03/2016 10:48

Hi Cats. You can worry away with as well.

DH did film DD being born but as it was an EMCS it didn't involve any parts of me being on display and I would not be at all impressed to find out it was being shown around to people otherwise. Even so, it isn't a video for general use!

Hopefully you will be a bit more decided closer to the time Lil.

Can you rearrange the GTT Sock?

I think I am going to try for an early scan on Tuesday as well Chat.

I have such a horrible cough and cold that I am hoping it is just masking any pregnancy symptoms that I might have. I also think that I tend to think of symptoms as only being sickness, which just isn't true. Since my last pregnancy was quite easy (apart from my overactive mind being in worry overload), I am trying to remain optimistic that everything is ok right now. The time I did have a mmc I had a feeling of certainty that something had gone wrong, which I don't really have at the moment so I am trying to cling onto that.

TriJo · 26/03/2016 10:50

I'd lean early Lil - mostly because this whole going late thing is absolutely miserable.

6 days over now, still nothing doing. Currently sitting on a gym ball at home watching Prison Break and twiddling my thumbs...

lildottie · 26/03/2016 12:17

Bless you tri you sound really fed up now. At least you have an end in sight now induction date is in the diary. How many random old wives tales have you put into place so far?

Fair point chat, I guess that in itself is another argument for doing early.

Mw just phoned with my second glucose blood results. Much lower at 4 this time so probably don't need GTT but I'm doing it anyway! 43% for ivf cs 19% for normal conception is enough of a reason to do it for me!

sock lol at your mw, poor thing. Wonder if she'll be dreading every appointment with you based solely on your job! And boo for GTT being on your birthday. Mines on April fools day Hmm

5hell · 26/03/2016 16:20

boo for those with appointments on rubbish days!...i'm a bit worried about spending my birthday in labour (not that i'm not really looking fwd to meeting chubs of course!)

nice bit of shopping done and a nice lunch out with dh. bought some bf-suitable (theoretically) clothes in bright/interesting prints to pair with cheap n cheerful primark basics. pooped now tho - shopping centres are TIRING!

yay for better glucose lil ...gx your gtt is all good too

Canters15 · 26/03/2016 18:03

Oh wool he's beautiful! Congrats!

Yay cats you made it over! Hurrah for early scan.

Am having lovely weekend away in peak district with DH. Preg fatigue has ramped up so slept a lot but had a couple of lovely walks.

Cant believe someone would show pics of bits out on display. Horrendous. My labour will be a camera free event!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 26/03/2016 21:17

Welcome cats!

fruit my EXBF put photos of his wife's water birth on FB and I was ShockConfusedBlush I think this is a thing with the natural birth types. I am from Canada where home births are very trendy but I had NO CAMERAS in my birth notes bolder several times over. In the end I asked DP to take a photo of me and newborn Mini but his phone is a bit messed up and I don't think it saved... Just as well though as first pics of me and DD1 are of the day she came home from hospital as I was in such rough shape with her that no one offered to take my photo. Ha!

lil by 39 weeks you will probably be well and truly over being pregnant and it leaves wiggle room for if you go over. I had the 24 hour propess and contractions started when it was removed. Then I had the prostin and my waters broke about 3 hours later. I delivered DD about 12 hours after that. It was a bit intense but very positive and if I weren't so bloody old and opinionated about age gaps I would totally do it again... of course you are welcome to DM me any questions you might have and I will do my best to answer you without freaking you out!

kate did you find a buggy?

FuzzyOwl · 26/03/2016 21:35

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I have this pain in my right buttock cheek that I have remembered I suffered from last pregnancy (although I think it changed sides from time to time). It doesn't go down my leg at all like sciatica and my back is absolutely fine. Is this PGP?

5hell · 27/03/2016 08:15

Morning!

fuzzy could it be mild sciatica, or just baby on a nerve? I had some nervy butt pain earlier on in pregnancy but it went away thankfully; gx yours does too!

Taking dogs swimming this morning. ..they loves it! Easter Grin

V active chubs this morning - think he's trying to break out through my bellybutton!!! Shock
