Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 46th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

I think it depends Canters and they will probably try an external scan first but do an internal one if necessary.

I am predicting a girl as well 5hell.

Ill what a terrible day! maybe the pinkish spotting is from a cervical ectropion, they're completely normal and much more common in pregnancy.
canters it depends, if your bladder is full it might push the uterus out of your pelvis enough to be scanned abdominally, but if not as fuzzy says they'll just do a vaginal. I'm still undecided about early scans, just can't decide whether to get DH to call EPAC (I'm deaf and can;t use phone, make the poor man do all my phone calls haha). He doesn't think we should get one because if they can't see a heartbeat "I'll worry even more." Hmph. Maybe will just ask one of the nice gynae regs at work... but just too nervous. eh I should stop farting on about this and forget it!

Corgi - I understand the fear, but the waiting and waiting and more waiting during the first trimester was too much for me. If I could have been scanned every week, I would have been!

I'm still slowly being crushed from the inside out. All good. Gosh, it's feeling really good doing my cover introductory emails to all my contacts. I take back the whinges about my maternity cover starting early - it's actually set things up nicely and I'm able to stay in on the action whilst knowing my contacts know I'm headed off shortly. It's also been really nice getting congratulatory/kind emails from everyone.

Feeling breathless after cleaning the (tiniest ever) bathroom. Tis a sign I need to stop messing about and take my iron tablets regardless of the consequential iron poos. Phht.

I thought 8wk scan had to be dildo cam due to size. I would agree 10wk is about when they may be able to do belly. Think FC told me this but can't remember. And FYI empty bladder for dildo cam, full for belly scan unless u are special.

Corgi if you wait until you're certain you're at least 8w, then there should be a HB to see. Do you have friendly gynae registrars? I need to chat a couple up - I'm on nights in a few weeks, that'll be the perfect time to take them some cake... Definitely want an early scan - no way will I manage 7w until seeing if all is okay in there.

I'm feeling okay at the moment, thanks Feathered. It's sort of sinking in, but I'm still pretty much symptom-free at the moment, so it's a bit like I'm dreaming. The first-trimester fear is old ground for me, I expect I'll get worse as I go on!

Do take the iron (Spatone is gentler on the guts and available in most Boots). You don't need to be feeling washed out before giving birth and being up all hours feeding.

Listen to Lil do not accidentally do a dildo cam on a full bladder it really is uncomfortable.

Ill vent away, vent away, vent away (to the tune of Enya) this is the place for it. My pee story from last week is thus. My midwife only gives out the thin urine tubes, not the wide pot shaped ones. I had absolutely perfected the art of peeing directly in these apart from last week 😐 The first go I missed the pot and got it all over my hand, the toilet, the floor.... The second time was slightly better but I still only half filled it. I'm not sure why but I told the student midwife all of this in great detail (I hadn't left the house in a few days and craved company.)

I met a work chum for lunch today and had a walk around Leeds town - it's nice when you aren't running on a lunch break and get to stroll the shops and enjoy the sun! I think it might have knocked the WoolBump down another 0.005 cm.... I hope!

another good mw appt (i'm so lucky, she's lovely)...all fine with me & chubs, she also thinks he's moving round away from b2b, so i just need to keep sitting well, swimming and ball-bouncing. Chatted birth plans etc too.

exciting weekend ahead for you then sky!? gx for smooth and speedy induction - it sounds like your body's been warming up of it's own accord, so that should help.

So 27+2, am I getting BH or is the baby just pushing forward? Feels like my bump is a lead weight and I've had some period cramps low down though not noticed them with hard bump necessarily. Also had s couple of times where standing up hurt at bottom of bump like muscles were tight.

Hmm afraid i don't know much about BH lil ...dont think I've had any
This website suggests bh would be normal from mid pregnancy, so could be BH or could be baby having moved around and giving you some different punches/stretches? sorry no help at all really!

Corgi, this is totally random. BUT. Re scans. We had a teaching session last year by one of the obstetricians on early pregnancy problems. If you take two groups of women with recurrent miscarriage and scan one group regularly and the others just give the usual scans, the group that are scanned regularly have much better pregnancy outcomes ie lower rate of miscarriage. Meaning the reassurance alone helped reduce rate of pregnancy loss. I have no idea how, but it blew my mind a little bit. That's why, as an anxious annie I am leaning towards getting an early scan, I feel like anything i can do to keep calm will be good for the pregnancy.

Last night was randomly interesting in that I have a slightly mad friend from LA who ended up coming to stay after getting stuck on a layover from Rome. So my past night of freedom was spent in the pub with her which is just as well because DP was working until late. Couldn't sleep due to excitement/hip and fanjo pain/hunger/thirst/needing the loo/DPs snoring so feeling pretty shattered... bag packed with loads of post baby treats and lovely luxury bath and shower stuff I have been hoarding so that I can feel a bit pampered while in hospital.

Lil there are still a quite a few slices of cake/crisps/ice cream in amongst the veg each day. I had BH from around 19-20 weeks even before I felt kicks I think. Bump would go very hard and quite domed. especially noticeable post-orgasm a few achy pains but not at the same time as the BH so I attributed the pains more to my womble stetching out at the time.

Canters your post has convinced me to have an eight week scan!

Happy last day of work 5hell!

I had a bit of a wobble this morning. Ended up having to run down to the end of our field from the house because one of our dogs had got hold of an escaped duck (ours)....so I ended up hoofing it down to remove said duck. Hopefully duck is fine and dog is very sheepish. I ended up almost hyperventilating and needing to lie down before setting off to work.
Babies are now going crazy and I feel quite shit and wobbly. Meh.

I had BH from really early too Lil. Bump went firm and misshapen then relaxed. Not painful but made me stop and go oof.

lil I think my bump had a growth spurt around that time. Made his kicks and rolls a bit more substantial and my uterus suddenly feel huge and heavy.

Starting to have my suspicions that not even Swimathon on Sunday (due date) is going to shift this little guy. Walked miles yesterday and didn't even get as much as a Braxton-Hicks for my troubles! Dammit kid, your mammy is getting very bored waiting... 3 weeks off work already and I've done all the odd jobs I planned on doing already.

nice nesting wool ...i have been doing quite a bit of baby laundry the last couple of days. Did have a complete brain failure moment when I couldn't figure out how/why I only had 1x 0-3 babygro...I had been trying to be good and not buy too much, but that seemed over-cautious even for me!...then remembered the 8 or so second hand ones I got from a friend, cue lightbulb moment!!

whilst it's good to keep active mer, sprinting after rogue animals probably isn't on the recommended list - hope you feel ok now

I've taken my own advice and booked a scan- three weeks tomorrow! Clinic reckon they can do transabdominally too, which is nice.

I'll see if I can find the slides from the talk, chat- the reference might be on there. It really stuck in my mind at the time!

mermaid, I am dying at the image of the dog making off with the duck. Was the duck ok? I'd have thought dog would have tried to turn duck into a snack!

canters luckily, the dogs see the birds as big, flappy, noisy toys...they wants to put them in their mouths and carry them round cos they are flappy and noisy. There's never broken skin etc.
Sadly, the birds don't really agree with this policy...
Duck was very indignant and covered in slobber. Providing she isn't too shocked, she'll be fine, although off lay for a few days.
MrMermaid will have to do some minor fence repairs this weekend to stop it happening again...

I forgot I was pregnant last night and threw myself on the bed tummy first –oppph. Soon remembered Iwas! I think baby is OK/not too squashed as I can feel little ripples! (Darn placenta acting like a whoopie cushion!)

Oh dear Mermaid –darn doggies! mine started playing with a great dane puppy this morning. The 'puppy' was pony sized and had no awareness of what he was bumping into. I shielded the bump, that dog will be like a horse when fully grown!

Eeeek –I actually have an actual bump now –it's so nice to finally look a bit pregnant not just chubby.

Sky sorry day started as a rush, hope you are all settled in now. So good of you to help friend, DH has been in that situation before but in a random airport and unable to leave as it was an hour to the authorised hotel and they had no shuttle service.

Peenut gods that's sounds uncomfy, eep at large dog but I actually feel better around large dogs - terrified of anything rat like small. Well it's very breed specific, am fine with westies but not with other similar size terriers. Sausage dogs, corgis, and beagles are also ok.

Mermaid sometimes they just love wandering around with it in their mouth, have you got those bags they use in the fake duck hunting trials that they do - sort of a duck substitute that you throw and they run and bring it back. Weighs about the same as a duck and you can put duck scent on it so the dog acts all proud for having brought it to you, might also help in getting the dog to return duck to you if they do get hold of one of your real ducks?

It's our anniversary today, dating 13 years and married 2 years. Got married on our dating anniversary as I couldn't remember two days. All overshadowed by my immense anxiety as have had brown spotting again. Really wish I hadn't had dildo cam as it seems to aggravate my cervix. If we get to 9 weeks I am going to ask for an abdominal instead as the trans vaginal will cause me more distress. Good news that my tsh came back as 1.55, so not as bad as I feared and I have a consultation by phone with the endocrinologists on Monday to ask if they want me to up my dose.

Hi all! Hospital very good for the most part. A very loud woman in the bed next to me but l think she is going home soon... pessary went in around noon. It is a 24 hour one and if it fails they'll try the drip for 12 hours after that so it isn't going to be never ending (I hope)

Sorry you are stressed ill hope you get some reassurance soon.
