largeginandtonic · 01/01/2007 23:12

Ha ha there you are! How spooky, we crossed posts....

MKG · 01/01/2007 23:12

I'm here. I went shopping for yarn with my mom. She's going to teach me how to crochet a blanket for the baby. I feel so domestic.

LG&T,

I made a killer cheesecake last night. It is so good. MMMM. I have been salsa like crazy also.

MKG · 01/01/2007 23:13

Are you feeling better about dh?

Pebblemum · 01/01/2007 23:14

Welcome Lwatkins!!

Its my scan tomorrow Yay!! I finally find out the flavour. It appears that everyone around me wants to know except Dh and as i cant be sure of all of them keeping quiet about it i am going to be selective as to who i tell. DS1 desperately wants to know if he will be getting a little sister at last but cant see a 9yr old keeping it a secret so i may just tell him that we couldnt tell or that it will be a nicer birthday present for him if its a suprise, im sure i'll think of something without him feeling left out. My mum is coming in with me so she will be the first to know and MIL wants me to tell her asap as well.

If im honest im a little worried that i will regret finding out the sex, it is nice to have a suprise but then again I will probably drive myself mad if i make myself wait. So far everyone thinks I may be having a girl due to the fact im bigger this pregnancy than with both boys, Ive never had sore boobs throughout pregnancy before, im craving sweet things ie fruit salads, jelly etc whereas with the boys it was pork pies and curry sauce and i cant wear my gold rings at the moment, they leave me with dry red skin on my fingers (its the first time ive been without my wedding ring in four years and it looks weird)which seems to happen to members of my family when expecting girls. Ive tried not to listen to what people are saying as everyone knows i want a girl but i have a feeling this one is another boy. I guess we will see who is right tomorrow. Its not until 3.30 so i have the whole day to wait, i bet it goes slowly!!!

Im getting fed up with this cough now, everytime i start to do something my nose runs and if i cough hard i almost wet myself. Im having to wear a pad just in case and its horrible as well as embarrassing. Im only 28 i was looking forward to having at least another 35years before these things started happening Oh the joys of pregnancy!!!

Im now off to play ds1's Nintendo DS again, i think i may have to buy myself one its addictive. We have borrowed some games from SIL so i have to give them a go!!!

Speak to you all tomorrow

largeginandtonic · 01/01/2007 23:15

Im still miserable about dh but the sick feeling is going. Too scared to go to bed though.

Is there tomato on your cheesecake? Can i have the recipe please, cheesecakes are ing here.

MKG · 01/01/2007 23:16

OK so at 10:30 my time I will be thinking of you Pebble.

MKG · 01/01/2007 23:19

No I put cherry pie filling on top.

I'll send it you tomorrow because I'm too lazy to type it up. It's my aunts recipe. But it is sooooooo gooood.

It'll get better, and I bet by the time he comes back you'll be like, "Man he's coming home, I have get dressed, put on a bra, and wear makeup again"

largeginandtonic · 01/01/2007 23:19

Good luck pebble, i have everything crossed for you! We expect to hear as soon as you are home

Pebblemum · 01/01/2007 23:21

Thanks MKG

LG&T you can have my Dh if you want, hes passed out on the front room floor with one foot up on sofa (not sure why,it looks very strange), mouth open slightly with ever so attractive line of spittle coming out and snoring loudly Looking at him now i can see why i married him, he is so attractive, not!!

largeginandtonic · 01/01/2007 23:22

Ooooh cherry pie mmmmmmm you measure in cups right? I have the cup measurements as i have a few american cookie books from friends across the pond. I cant wait

I hope you are right MKG, i didnt shave my legs this morning as i thought who will feel them now...

MKG · 01/01/2007 23:26

Yeah we measure in cups. We're all messed up over here.

Don't be sad, just think when he comes back you'll be in home stretch for the baby. Is going to be home when the baby comes?

Just think, less pressure to clean the house, make good meals, you can eat all the Krispy Kremes you want and no one will get on your case about it.

largeginandtonic · 01/01/2007 23:32

But he may come home and find his wife has turned in to a giant blob!!! He will be home when im 28 weeks prg.

Ohmigod ds #4 has just got out of bed for the 5th time in half an hour! Why oh why? All the others were so good, how can the fifth child have me stumped? Im sure you are supposed to get better with experience at this job

largeginandtonic · 01/01/2007 23:35

Got all distracted then, sorry. Dh returns to Portsmouth then but is on a ship, hopefully the ship will be alongside though (not at sea) the Navy are broke so there are not many ships any more!

Im eating bloody dates, almonds and cranberries. Humph.

MKG · 01/01/2007 23:35

On a lighter note, let me tell you that my breasts are huge. My mom says they're going to be the size of watermelons by the time I'm done.

MKG · 01/01/2007 23:36

You want a piece of cheesecake

largeginandtonic · 01/01/2007 23:50

Wow on the watermelons front, mine are bigger i love it. I used to be a 32 dd before i started having kids, they shrink to flapping envelopes in the breeze 34 c's by the time i have finished breastfeeding! Oh something to look forward too.....

Lwatkins · 01/01/2007 23:59

My boobs have got bigger too - bring it on! After being a 32 B for forever, im ready for bigger boobs - it's my time for big boobs me thinks! I keep having dreams that i have a baby boy, is my body trying to tell me something? Anyone else having this? It's gonna be soooo hard naming bean if it is a boy, girls names are easier!

Lwatkins · 02/01/2007 00:02

Pebble - good luck with scan, let us know what your having and how it all went! Cant freakin wait for my scan!

MKG · 02/01/2007 00:02

LWat,

I'm famous for my dreams I have had many many dreams of a girl, so if I get a boy I'll be so confused.

Lwatkins · 02/01/2007 00:10

Right that's me added, oh I feel like part of a team! Ooooo, it's excitin!

Have a good day all xx

twelvemonthstil2008 · 02/01/2007 09:27

Morning All. Unfortunately the predictiona about me needing to either stay awake or sleep for a long time to get my body clock back in shape was correct. The former that is. Lay awake ALL night last night. Didn't get a wink. Alarm went off at 6.15 and I was downstairs by 6.35 cleaning the oven cleaner off the oven before work. I look like a panda; the circles round my eyes are so dark.

LG&T/ Santamum - I have a "please collect from the post office" slip. I feel bad now. I didn't have time to get to the post office and then promptly forgot about the slip altogether until yesterday. Wish I'd tried harder to get out now. I wasn't expecting anything so wasn't worried. Doh. I don't mind at all sending it on to you Santamum. I'm relieved you got a dress. I'm going to wear that red one to another wedding at the start of February. (Hopefully!) I bought some lovely grey shoes in New Look for £20 the other day to go with it as I also have a furry stole thingy in grey and a grey furry hat which I bought before to go with it and then had to wear black shoes. God I'm rambling... Sorry. Anyway, LG&T has my email address so if you're happy for her to give me your forwarding address I'll post on. Or I can maybe have them couriered from work, because you're not far from me are you? Let me know.

Who was asking about flying on the other thread? I was actually thinking of going away at Easter, but probably won't be able to get travel insurance if I do. It's safe to fly up to around 36 weeks although it's hard to get insurance after 32 weeks. Usually from 28 to 36 weeks, the airline will want a doctors certificate.

scootermum · 02/01/2007 09:29

Hi all,
Hello to the newbies..
New year new me!Have arrived at work 10 mins early, arranged two meetings and done some filing.
And now Im on Mumsnet, so that lasted all of 10 minutes then!

Think will have a cup of tea and eat some chocolate..

twelvemonthstil2008 · 02/01/2007 09:44

I arrived at 7.45, chatted to some people, deleted about 800 emails, ordered a diary for someone and er... went on mumsnet. Hehehe.

ShowOfHands · 02/01/2007 09:49

Oh the horrors of being back at work... everybody else took today off, probably in the knowledge that they would all still be terribly hungover from NYE. So I work in a building that usually contains about 60 members of staff and there are two of us and a couple of security guards. I should have stayed in bed! I'm easing myself back in. So far I have had a cup of tea and a muffin, phoned my Mum (it's her birthday) and caught up on this thread. There's nobody here to sack me...

Welcome to the mad house Abby and Lwatkins. I must inform you that it is Toilet Paper Tuesday today which is a requisite part of being in our club (I'm scared, very scared- I've put on at least a sheet).

Pebble, best of luck for your scan today. Got mine tomorrow and I'm absolutely bloomin' petrified. The excitement has all but dissipated and I'm left with this absolute feeling of dread. I had a look at some 20wk scn pics on the net this morning and just couldn't believe that I have an actual healthy baby inside me. I wish I could just relax and enjoy it, but I know I'll be a bundle of nerves. My Mum and MIL are coming to the scan but we don't want to tell them the gender just yet. So...how does it work? Do they tell you the gender as and when they get to that 'area' or do they check at the end? Do you think they'd write it down for us so we can open it later without the Hovering Expectant Grandparents hanging around? They all seem to think it's some kind of family outing. Pregnancy in this family is some kind of spectator sport. And I'm no athlete.

LG&T- still awaiting details of your NYE celebration. You aren't wriggling out of it!

Anyway need to get up and walk around a bit- intermitent sciatica here too!

Good morning all!
