Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

You're probably right bunch, wonder what it is!

Sorry you're not feeling well again runner! I'm guessing you won't want baby 2 in any hurry after how this pregnancy has treated you (although I'm told you forget quickly, yeah, right Wink) make sure you take care of yourself!

I told my boss today as he's on holiday for 3 weeks from tomorrow. It's my 12 week scan is on Monday and it's looking unlikely that it will be hidden by the time he's back at this rate (or maybe I'm just bloated)

Why does everyone ask if it's planned? What an awkward question to answer. If I say 'yes yes it was, down to the day' right as my project is really kicking off it looks pretty shitty, if I say no then that's super awkward, what are they planning on coming back to no with? (not that I ever would say no, obviously as it was)

Luckily I have a pretty decent response following the 5 times I've now been asked (even though I've only told 6/7 people!!) ! Yes it was planned, we both decided we wanted a child and we were ready for a child and I came off the pill, but I did think it would take a long time and not happen as quickly as it did following ovarian surgery at 19 and doctors never being able to tell me whether it would effect me or not.

Tends to stop people asking any more about it anyway Wink and at least nobody has touched my stomach yet!

IndiX · 17/03/2016 17:30

I haven't told many people yet but I can imagine that question would annoy me too Lauren. How is it anyone's business? Thinking of it now when I told my neighbour (reluctantly, she's very nosey and likes to be involved with everything I'm up to) she asked if we'd been trying..I said yeah since Xmas but now I'm thinking well what would she have said if I said 'no actually, we were both pissed one night and I guess I was caught'..people are strange.
YESSSS Lisa It's on the NHS website, plus I went on the Philadelphia website and they have a whole section about it being safe as its pasturised. It's made me SO happy!

Hi ladies,

How are we all?

Keep any eye on that runner with seeing spots (no pun intended) - did you get hold of the gp? Your blood pressure was a little high if I remember right wasn't it? I don't want to seem alarmist but sure I've read seeing dots is a red flag for pre eclampsia....sure it won't be that though.

Thanks for asos code!

I've been scoffing smoked salmon - yeah according to NHS it's ok to eat!

Well, apparently I have an anterior placenta (front the front) which is no big deal as long as it stays high but means I probably won't feel any movements until 20 weeks+ and even then may not feel much. Bit gutted. Anyone else got this?

Runner05 · 17/03/2016 17:46

Index yep, the midwife was a bit worried about my BP being high. There's no chance that my blood sugar was low. If I don't eat every couple of hours I feel sick so I'm practically always eating Blush

Lauren I've got two DSC plus this one. I do not need more children and I have no intention of having any after this experience! Confused

For people who I think are just being rude as it's none of their business, I quite like the 'what does it matter' response to the question of whether it was planned. Followed by 'our baby is very much wanted whether it was or wasn't planned'. In other words, keep your nose out. So far I've used it twice and it quickly stops their prying questions.

I think I could become a naughty pregnant women. Thinking of returning unwanted bump touching with belly touching 😈

Co5mo · 17/03/2016 17:51

Runner my gps surgery has an automated machine so I can go in and check my blood pressure any time I want. You should ask if yours has the same, or if your locals pharmacy has a bp machine, they might be able to check for you sooner than you can get in to the gps have it checked if you are worried about it.

RaeSkywalker · 17/03/2016 18:23

Lauren that is fab!

Newmrs22 · 17/03/2016 18:51

Shelb I have an anterior placenta! Haven't felt movement yet. Bit gutted but I understand it's not a problem.

Cosmo that's a brilliant response!

shelbTa · 17/03/2016 18:57

Really new - how far along are you?

Lauren that's ace!

IndiX · 17/03/2016 19:03

Sorry if this is a really stupid question but what is that Lauren? I am completely new to the baby world Blush

Jamjar12 · 17/03/2016 19:04

Tentatively stepping into the grads room...

Hi! I feel like when you're a kid at school and you're finally allowed inside the staff room.... What exciting things happen in here? SmileSmileSmile

Got a BFP yesterday- heading off to buy some more in a minute just because I can lol.

How's everyone doing??

Newmrs22 · 17/03/2016 19:15

Congrats jamjar!

Shelb I'm 18+2. How about you?

LaraG13 · 17/03/2016 19:24

Yay welcome and congrats jam! I kept taking tests for about 3 weeks 😳

runner sorry to hear you're feeling rough again today.

indi my nausea has let up a bit this afternoon and I'm eating everything. I've never experienced hunger like these last few weeks! It's that weird
'I'm STARVING give me the food!!! No, actually I'm sick, get the food away from me' cycle!

pyxie I'm really glad all is well. Must have been a stressful time. I'm looking foward to seeing a heartbeat at my reassurance scan on Sunday (everything crossed)

Laurenrl · 17/03/2016 19:50

Indi, It's called a 'taggie' it's like a security blanket and its sensory so the back is soft and bumpy, front colourful and the tags silky

Laurenrl · 17/03/2016 19:50

Congrats jam!!! Welcome

shelbTa · 17/03/2016 19:52

Cangrats jam!

New - I'm 16+3. Ah so you've not felt anything yet? I have these feeling of vibrations almost from bump area, but not sure if that is anything. Desperate to feel it.

X

Pinklily1 · 17/03/2016 20:01

Congratulations Jam and welcome!!

I an't believe how many of us there are now!

Pinklily1 · 17/03/2016 20:01

*can't

BunchOfBobs · 17/03/2016 20:15

Congrats and welcome Jam!

Shelb when I'd felt the odd flutter and wasn't sure if it was Pip I did what they suggest you do in later pregnancy to coax baby to love (if you've had. Reduced movements). Drank a glass of very cold drink and laid down on my left side and concentrated. Couldn't mistake the flutters then.

Jamjar12 · 17/03/2016 20:52

Thanks everyone! Just taken a positive digital Clear Blue so know I know I didn't imagine the line on the FRER!!

How are you all coping (or coped, past tense) with not telling people? The idea of keeping this to myself for another 8 weeks or so is going to drive me mad! Poor DH will just have to put up with me talking about it constantly!

Pinklily1 · 17/03/2016 21:03

Jam, we told parents and siblings fairly early as it was over Christmas and the no drinking would probably have been a give away! I then had to tell my boss early as I had a fair while off work with sickness near the beginning.

For friends and everyone else at work, we waited till after the 12 week scan and that killed me. I'm not good with secrets!!

LillianFullStop · 17/03/2016 21:07

Congrats jam!

Told my sister right away and my mum on Mother's Day but that's about it. It helps to tell at least one other person other than OH. Hoping to be able to share the good news with rest of fam if 10w scan goes well next week.

LillianFullStop · 17/03/2016 21:10

Oh no runner Flowers for the lightheadedness I had that at 7w but it seems to have gone now. Tried to make sure I had enough water but yes the advice on here about seeing GP to get blood pressure test sounds like a good idea

Pinklily1 · 17/03/2016 21:28

Runner, with the lightheaded feeling, I have that whenever I am standing up. My blood pressure is fine when they take it sitting down but I'm unsteady on my feet. Midwife thinks I have low blood pressure when standing so I'm off to the consultant next week to see what's what.

Could it be something like that?
