Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

You're all chatty today Smile

lisa sorry about your wee-ing, I'm glad they're checking it out for you. I was up 4 times last night but I always seem to have quite a full bladder when I go. I've had plenty of infections over the years but they always hurt me (think pee-ing glass!)

And very good advice on the cranberry from bunch - the normal stuff doesn't have anywhere near enough cranberry to be useful. And obviously drink plenty of water too.

Sorry you're feeling poorly nev and try not to worry about work.

miley - I'm glad you're home and I hope the sickness doesn't last too much longer for you.

I'll definitely check out that thread runner!

I'm doing ok, was hoping to make a return to the gym this week but feel exhausted after my nocturnal weeing activities last night so heading home to lie on the sofa - as usual!

Bugmuncher · 14/03/2016 17:02

Which is the AUIB thread?

Co5mo · 14/03/2016 17:20

Pahahaha. The pooperscooper comment had me lol Runner.

IndiX · 14/03/2016 18:25

Cosmo she's put me on 4 tabs a day of nitrofurantoin for the 3 days? Side effect is sickness..great just as I'm getting to the end of my all day nausea. I think it's weird she prescribed over the phone too, last time I did a sample which was about 2 weeks ago, my sample was normal. And I've been weeing non stop for about 2 weeks anyway.
I really don't like taking tabs tbh, they've even prescribed me aspirin daily from 12 weeks as my mum had severe pre-eclampsia. My bp is very low though so don't really understand how it would help. Sorry for long post.
Going to find the dog thread on AIBU now..

Runner05 · 14/03/2016 18:40

Indi maybe you should call the dr again and insist on seeing someone. It does seem a little wrong to prescribe medication without checking you need it. Also, when I had a UTI in the first trimester the dr was OCD about it. Prescribed me 7 day course and insisted I provide another sample at the end to make sure it was gone. Even my last one was a 5 day course.

The dog thread just keeps getting better. I can't wait for the next update on the FB thread, I'm hooked!!!

I need to find this dog thread too! It sounds like it provides a good laugh!

I'm now getting stabbing pains in the left side of my back and in the left side of my abdomen. I'm weeing twice a night and only twice today so don't think it's a UTI. Baby is apparently towards the left hand side so I'm assuming it's just him growing. Pregnancy really is a mystery of random symptoms and ailments Hmm

For those who have already had their 16 week appointments, is it just the usual testing of wee, taking blood and then they listen to baby? Mine is this week so just wondering what to expect.

Mileymoocow · 14/03/2016 19:21

Thanks for all your concern, it really does help to know I'm not alone in this. Apparently I have 80% chance of HG of o ever have another pregnancy, too. So that's beautiful Sad

I think I'm gonna give dubai a go. I know it's a bit mental but I feel as though I might feel a bit better if I have things to do etc. And if all else fails we have a dvd player in the room and air con

Runner05 · 14/03/2016 19:40

Pink at mine they did a urine check, listened to the baby, gave my abdomen a good poke, checked my blood pressure, asked about movement and any symptoms and asked if I had any questions.

The remainder of my appointment was about mr fibroid (I feel he needs a name) so not really relevant.

miley that sucks about recurrent HG. Good luck with Dubai.

So I texted my sister today (after she texted me to tell me she has a cold) to tell her about the fibroid and possible implications. It's only been 5 hours so I'm sure she'll text me back eventually Hmm

Feeling a little isolated as I don't want to worry OH by keep going on about it, no longer talk to friends after they flaked out on me and I can't even rant about stuff to my mum because of how much she's deteriorated... I foolishly thought I'd at least get a "hope you're ok" from my sister but to be fair I should know better as she is very self focused and whenever anyone else is ill or has something medically wrong with them she seems to try to one up them (when I had severe morning sickness she kept phoning me to tell me that she had a sickness bug... For 6 weeks Hmm)

Indi nitrofurantoin is fine for trimester 1 and 2. If it's any consolation, I don't think there is an antibiotic on the market that doesn't report nausea and vomiting as a side effect and most people can take them without any problems.

I'm no women's medicine expert (unless it comes to their infections) but the aspirin issue is related to clotting aspects of pre eclampsia rather than blood pressure. This web page might help action-on-pre-eclampsia.org.uk/pre-eclampsia-information/fact-sheet1-low-dose-aspirin-for-high-risk-pregnancy/

Pinklily1 · 14/03/2016 21:06

Thanks Runner. I don't think I want her to have a pile of my tummy - it freaks me out a bit. Whilst I know it doesn't hurt baby I can't help but worry about it!

I think your sister might have had the longest sickness bug in the history of the world! Feel free to vent all you want about fibroid on here, it's the kind of thing we are here for.

Miley, good luck with Dubai. Obviously I hope you will be absolutely fine, but in a worst case scenario if you are sick, the hospitals will be excellent there and used to dealing with lots of UK expats so language etc should be ok!

IndiX · 14/03/2016 21:11

Thanks Cosmo, I'm still a bit concerned I've been prescribed them over the phone without giving a sample. All I told the nurse was I was weeing a lot especially in the night..for all I know it could be in my head that I need a wee Blush I'll phone the midwife tomorrow I think.

Sodasoda · 14/03/2016 21:13

Just a quick one to say that I'm on page 4 of SIL and dogs thread and I'm actually laughing out loud! Thanks for the tip runner, who needs soaps on tv?!

IndiX · 14/03/2016 21:13

Runner that's why mumsnet is so good. We are all here to listen to you vent.
Miley i really hope the sickness eases off when you're in Dubai, make sure you don't get overheated. I'm sure you'll have a lovely time even if it's just a change of scenery

Runner05 · 14/03/2016 21:16

Pink my sister is regularly on deaths door and about to be put in a wheelchair for life but oddly it doesn't stop her doing very energetic and jarring sports several times a week or doing a job that requires her to have a high level of dexterity Hmm

Loving the SIL and dogs thread! The bit where the SIL tells her father at Christmas that the dog is his only grandchild Shock

Runner05 · 14/03/2016 22:11

Pink yep the dog grandchild thing was amazing. She's obviously got some serious problems... I was really supposed when they said she had a DP Shock

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 15/03/2016 07:46

Pink mine was exactly the same as Runners minus the fibroid talk. The prodding for me was just to see the size/location of the uterus before putting the Doppler on.

The Christmas bit was shocking in all ways, first that she thinks her dog is the first grandchild and Shockat the lack of sensitivity!!

shelbTa · 15/03/2016 07:55

Morning ladies.

I've missed loads!

My next appointment isn't until the 20 week scan - have you guys got one before then with the midwife?

X

Danni89 · 15/03/2016 08:04

Hi Shel.. Yes I have a 16 week one with the midwife next week.

Hope everyone else is ok and the UTI's/sickness sods off Smile

Pinklily1 · 15/03/2016 08:36

Hi Shelb, how are you feeling?

I have a 16 week midwife appointment too. I have midwife appointments every 4 weeks due to a blood issue but the 16 week one is definitely standard here. It may depend on area though, maybe give your doctors surgery a call and check?

I'm 16 weeks today which feels like a milestone. I had it in my head that if I didn't feel better by 12 weeks I would be better by 16. Partly wishful thinking on my part I think!

LisaTheGreek · 15/03/2016 09:25

Congrats on 16 weeks, Pink!

Sounds like you're still feeling rough though. Has the sickness not abated at all?

Runner05 · 15/03/2016 11:00

Congrats Pink

Have you seen today's dog update? The nutcase has posted on FB that she's bought and wrapped a load of presents for her dogs to have on Saturday!!! PMSL

Morning everyone,

I'm 14 weeks tomorrow. I'm hoping this means Ovia will finally change me to second trimester. Smile

I'm sleeping really badly at the moment - getting up to go to the loo and then not settling properly so I'm exhausted.

I'm consultant led so not sure if I'm seeing the midwife again but I have an appt with obs consultant at 16 weeks.

How's everyone else doing today?

Sodasoda · 15/03/2016 11:09

Ha ha runner - yes, still reading avidly! I think my favourite so far was around training the child with a whistle - like she trains her dogs! Makes me think my in laws aren't so bad Grin
