Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

Lisa I'd pop to the dr and get yourself checked for a UTI. You might not but it's worth checking.

Oh Miley you poor thing! hopefully at 12 to 13 weeks you should see a noticeable improvement. Either complete recovery or at least the nausea will back down to a low level irritant like mine has.
Are you going to go to Dubai? Sounds awful but in your shoes I would be gutted but I would also decide to stay home.
We were planning a holiday with the kids in the spring but have now cancelled as if things kick off and I'm in agony it'll make everyone miserable (according to OH).

Hope you stay feeling a little better!

I'm a mass of aches and pains at the moment. Is anyone else feeling like that? If I sit up too long my back, and sides hurt. My tummy always feels really aches from stretching muscles (I wonder if that's because I'm growing at a faster rate than normal because of stupid fibroid growth?), my right hip hurts and my dodgy left knee is giving out because of the extra weight (I thought that might happen).
I feel like I'm falling apart! The worse part is that because I'm waiting for red reduction to kick in every time I get a cramp or trapped wind I get a bit paranoid Confused
Maybe OH is right and I do whine a lot when I'm poorly lol!

Lisa, sounds like a UTI to me too. Hopefully doctor can give you something so you're not having to get up 9 times a night!

Miley, you poor thing! Did they rehydrate you? Do you feel any better?

How is everyone else?

I'm getting a more intense stabbing pain in my side, so I'm presuming the ligament pain is stepping up a notch (16 weeks tomorrow!).

LisaTheGreek · 14/03/2016 08:42

Thanks everyone, really appreciate all the responses.

Sorry to hear it's so bad, Miley, and hope it eases soon SadThanks

BunchOfBobs · 14/03/2016 08:48

Runner I'm definitely a bag of aches and pains over here. If it's not my lower back its my pubic/tail/sit bone pain (which hurts pretty much all day every day), or headaches. My back hurts if it sit too long, it hurts even more if I stand for too long and then walking around kicks off the other pain. I'm hoping the Physio gets on to it on Thursday.

I'm getting a dull pulling/aching sensation to the right side of my groin/tummy. Generally that seems to be where Pip
Hangs out so I'm assuming it's stretching sensations but it's getting annoying. And I'm getting lovely stabbing sensations to the nips.

It's a shame you've had to cancel your holiday, could you book a UK break instead?
DH is taking me on a 3 day spa break a week tomorrow, I'm very excited. I think he's an idiot for booking it the day after the scan though as we have no clue what will happen at it. I haven't felt Pip move so much this weekend but on using the Doppler last night he's swooshing around in there like a little gymnast. Just musnt be feeling proddy. It's too early to have patterns yet so I'm not concerned.

IndiX · 14/03/2016 10:01

Miley I'm so sorry you ended up in hospital. Hopefully this doesn't carry on much longer for you.
Lisa I am exactly the same! I just thought it was the uterus stretching and pushing on my bladder as it doesn't hurt when I go for a wee. I've had UTI's before and it's always painful when I actually go to the toilet but this time it's not it's just I feel like I need l go ALL the time. I must be up about 5/6 times a night too and sometimes I'll suddenly feel like I'm dying for the toilet but only a tiny bit comes out. I'm not really in to antibiotics, do you think I could flush it out?

Runner05 · 14/03/2016 10:13

Bunch we hadn't booked anything yet but we were in the process of doing so. We're just going to do days away now as we're both acutely aware that I may need to get to A&E in a hurry at any time (joy) and don't want to be hours and hours from home if that happens.

Indi I'd take the antibiotics if I were you. UTIs can be a danger to your pregnancy. My last UTI was the cause of my spotting so I'm firmly in the better safe than sorry camp.

Thanks runner best phone the doctors today, do I go through midwife or GP?

LisaTheGreek · 14/03/2016 10:31

Indi - I called my GP first and they've got me an appt with a nurse this afternoon. I asked if they could help or if I should call my midwife and they said they can sort it.

Will let you know after 2.30pm today. Fingers crossed!

Runner05 · 14/03/2016 10:40

Good luck Lisa

Give your dr a call Indi also when you get in the surgery ask for a specimen bottle so that you can take a sample in with you otherwise you'll have to do the walk of shame during your appointment.

I keep feeling a fluttering on my left side but I think it's too high up to be Potato... My uterus might be stretched more than usual because of my fibroid so I'm not sure if Potato could have gone for a explore or whether it's just a muscle twitching Confused

OP posts:
IndiX · 14/03/2016 10:47

Phoned the doctors and they said nurse will phone me back to prescribe over the phone? If she's concerned she'll bring me in, haven't had the call yet so we'll see what she says.

BunchOfBobs · 14/03/2016 10:51

Runner I find it helps to lie flat on my back (gasp, we're not allowed to do that!) and feel for my uterus to see how high it's gotten. Then I know if what I'm feeling is Pip or just me. I've reached my belly button today, that's not supposed to happen until 20 weeks! Confused flutterings sound right though, it's what I felt to begin with, followed with gentle pokes/taps. Now on to prods. Pip moves more after I've eaten I've found.

Runner05 · 14/03/2016 11:24

Bunch sadly I can't feel for the top of my uterus because the fibroid sits right on top of it. In effect it feels like the top of my uterus is just below my rib cage Confused

OP posts:
Nevlet · 14/03/2016 11:52

How do you feel for your uterus? Is that a daft question?

Back from drs after being up all night with raging temperature and aches/shivers no uti or signs of infection she thinks its a respiratory virus and rest and liquid will be enough. Am back in bed feeling so guilty about work and scared to email my line manager and tell her I wont be back for a few days!

BunchOfBobs · 14/03/2016 12:53

Nev don't be feeling guilty you need to rest and feel better.
Your uterus should feel hard and quite ball shaped I found.

Runner yeah that sounds annoying, base of your ribs would make you much more pregnant.. Hmm I think trust your own feelings. I just know when it's Pip and not wind.

IndiX · 14/03/2016 13:22

Lisa I've just had a call from the nurse, told her my symptoms and she said I've got to go on a 3 day course of anti biotics. Least it isn't a week or 10 days. Weird how they didn't need a sample from me though. Hope your appt goes well.

Runner05 · 14/03/2016 14:19

I've just been having a poke around with my Doppler. I think Potato is somewhere just below my belly button but the placenta is roughly where the twitching sensation was... I'm now wondering if he's tugging on it a bit. (Or I could just be crazy Smile)
Either way, I can't believe how loud his heart beat is now compared to a couple of weeks ago. I turned the speaker against my tummy and I think I felt him jump at the noise lol

OP posts:
IndiX · 14/03/2016 14:44

That made me smile runner. Can't wait to feel my Bean Smile

Co5mo · 14/03/2016 14:47

Ok so I'm currently having kittens about a nurse advising a pregnant women that they need a course of antibiotics over the phone...If I caught any of our staff doing that they'd be for the high jump. I'm trying my best not to be in work mode on this forum but sometimes it's hard! Indi just make sure she hasn't given you trimethoprim if you're still in your first trimester. You can probably get away with three days of antibiotics but the usual recommendation if you are pregnant is seven days.

I'm very sorry that so many of us seem to be having a rough time. I was just popping on to say I think I might be climbing up the other side of the nausea tiredness roller coaster but I might hold out judgement on that until after my 7 day run at work.

Runner05 · 14/03/2016 15:09

OMG you ladies have to read the SILs Dog post in AIBU. It's so, so funny.

That is all, can you tell I'm bored at work? Wink

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 14/03/2016 15:18

Oh dear Runner that SIL sounds a bit precious. Particularly "you should have made it clear the invite wasn't extended to the whole family" Hmm

LisaTheGreek · 14/03/2016 15:24

Ok, I'm back. Finally (appt was 25 minutes late...).

Anyway, she dipped the test thing in my wee and everything was negative apart from a little bit of protein. Only a little bit though.

So she wants to send a sample off to the lab, and see what they come back with. So I have to pee in a pot first thing tomorrow and drop it round there.

In the meantime I have to drink a lot, particularly cranberry juice. Fun!

LisaTheGreek · 14/03/2016 15:32

Lol, Runner and Bunch, that thread is VERY weird!

It's so rare to get an AIBU where there really isn't any question of whether the OP is being reasonable or not.

The SIL does sound a little....strange.

BunchOfBobs · 14/03/2016 15:58

Lisa glad you got seen to. Make sure you get pure cranberry juice, not ocean spray or anything else with sugar in. You need the real stuff. Any health food store or Holland and barratt should sell it. I have concentrated stuff I have to dilute .

Thread #3 - TTC#1 Grads thread. No TMI is too much, no question too stupid!
Runner05 · 14/03/2016 16:00

Lisa that's very strange. I hope they get to the bottom of it.

The dog thread is just getting better and better. I'm in stitches reading it.

OP posts:
LisaTheGreek · 14/03/2016 16:19

Thanks Bunch, that's a really good point. I probably would have bought Ocean Spray! Blush

Runner - she sounds unhinged! She's been so insensitive to the OP over the years (miscarriages, etc.). Not sure I'd be putting up with that...!
