Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

Soda eat a packet of fig rolls... You'll be popping well for a couple of days.

Co5mo I was in clothes 2 sizes up from about 6 weeks and maternity clothes by 8. I blame bloating and my little fibroid friend Confused

Sat in the waiting room for the midwife, getting ready to give her hell!

indi I'm 9+2, have lost about 10 lb through morning sickness tho have a little pot belly which doesn't fit into much at the moment! I'm 5 foot 9 so was hoping to get away with normal clothes for a while but it's not to be! Smile

Thanks for all your support, it really does help. I'm a bit happier today (though still very sick) I guess it's just going to be a case of taking each day as it comes. Took my anti nausea and sickness tablets this morning, followed by spewing breakfast back up so I don't think they're all that effective

Mileymoocow · 09/03/2016 13:34

Mothercare have a sale on maternity wear Wink

BunchOfBobs · 09/03/2016 13:41

Phew just checked and the dress, costume and bra I've just bought from there aren't in the sale.
I've bought a tonne of stuff off eBay the last few days. Can't wait for it all to start arriving Smile

Runner05 · 09/03/2016 13:55

Well, that was a bit of a turn around. I saw a different midwife and now I have an appointment with a consultant tomorrow morning!!!

My blood pressure is a bit high (they want to keep an eye on it) and they want to monitor me as I'm at risk of pre-eclampsia but otherwise all good.
They listened to Potato and confirmed that I've been doing it correctly and that he has a really strong heart beat Smile

Work must hate me right now as this will be 3 anti-natal appointments in 3 days and there's a possibility they'll want to book more after the consultation to have extra scans. Confused

BunchOfBobs · 09/03/2016 14:07

Sod work Runner woop for the turn around. I'm so pleased you've got a new midwife and some moving forward regarding the consultant. Let us know what they say tomorrow. **

Runner05 · 09/03/2016 14:57

Thanks Bunch sadly I'm being shared between the 12 year old chav and the nice midwife I had today but with any luck I'll see this one more often than not.

Pinklily1 · 09/03/2016 16:52

Glad you had progress Runner. Did you have a battle or was this one just a bit more proactive? I should probably know this, but what kind of things put you at risk of pre-eclampsia?

Cosmo, I am still in normal clothes save that I've worn a pair of maternity jeans when we've been out for dinner. I wear dresses for work anyway and think I will get a good few more weeks out of them yet, but I'm going to have to start wearing maternity stuff on weekends probably from this weekend I think. I'm going to collect my Seraphine dresses tonight so will see what they are like for work.

I'm also going to try on wedding dresses this weekend - will be interesting with a little baby pot belly but I have to do it now before I get any bigger!

We must have some 20 week scans coming up soon,Mor, Bunch, Runner, Nev? Mine is the first week in April. For those who have them coming up, are you going to find out the sex?

Has anyone signed up for any pregnancy specific exercise classes? I'm pondering aqua natal or maybe Pilates.

BunchOfBobs · 09/03/2016 17:00

Pink I live in the back end of beyond so my gym doesn't do anything antenatal specific. Apparently I can go to aqua aerobics though. As today I've tackled the issue of grooming I am now safe to enter a pool.

My scan is a week on Monday (21st) and we fully intend to find out the sex, knowing my luck Pip won't allow and will be all coy. My scan nerves have started today Sad

Today I'm wearing normal clothes for once, a tshirt dress and leggings 2 sizes up. I'm so fed up of jeans and sweats this makes a lovely change.

Danni89 · 09/03/2016 19:15

Hi all,

Exciting that a few of you are coming up to your 20-week scans!!

I got my screening result back today- both downs and pateau/Edwards are low risk. So very pleased.

Hope everyone is ok x

Mileymoocow · 09/03/2016 19:36

Brilliant dani! I love seeing everyone get good news. I can't wait for mine, though my 12 week is still not confirmed.

We're not finding out the sex up to now but I'm fickle as hell right now so god knows how i'll feel in 10 weeks.

Is anyone else finding the weeks are absolutely flying? For all I've been ill the best part of 4 weeks, I sort of freak out when I think how much I have to do and I'll be 10 weeks on Monday.

Mileymoocow · 09/03/2016 19:45

Also... body hair anyone?? Mine is growing at an alarming rate. I'm going to get waxed on friday and am embarrassed incase it's too much! I normally grown for 3 weeks which us usually perfect.

Pinklily1 · 09/03/2016 19:55

Good news Dani!

Bunch - my gym doesn't offer anything antenatal specific but I've checked on Google and there are a few classes in the area which I can sign up to, so may have a look.

My Seraphine dresses arrived and I love them. Thanks for the recommendation ladies.

BunchOfBobs · 09/03/2016 19:58

Miley yy!! Hence me having to groom before I can brave swimming. Though I'm super sore after waxing today, not usually so. Also I have a hairy bump. Proper downy!

Laurenrl · 09/03/2016 20:06

I second the body hair miley, I'm really blonde naturally so usually get away with a few weeks without shaving my legs, I'm now a week in and there's thick black hair all over them which I've never seen before. My OH is so lucky :)

Only 12 sleeps until my 12 week scan and then I can tell people! It's been really hard as I've had an awful few weeks at work working 50 hour weeks and having lots of stressful situations and not able to explain that I really need to take it easier!

I'm so jealous of those coming up to 20 weeks, I'm definitely going to find out the sex, I've been flitting between calling our little micro human a him and a her for the whole 7 weeks that I've known he/she exists! ahaha. I understand why people decide not to choose though, I'm just impatient!

I've been so lucky with sickness so far (touch wood) I get nauseous for an hour or so most days and certain smells/ things (mainly dirty dishes) set me off but have only been sick once, and I honestly think that was the fever from UTI! I feel so sorry for you lot in the thick of sickness as I have a bit of a phobia so really wouldn't cope anywhere near as well as you all have!

Runner05 · 09/03/2016 21:24

Pink you're considered at risk if you have two of about 10 different markers (there should be a list of them in your maternity notes) for me it's being a first timer, BMI that's near the upper limit of the risk range and high blood pressure.

My scan is 15th of April Smile although I'm hoping I get a sneaky extra one because of my fibroid (probably not knowing my luck) I'm definitely finding out the sex Smile

Miley I kinda feel like time's dragging for me. I wish it would fly!!

I've given up on body hair already, cannot see my foof anymore and my legs are too much effort Hmm

Lauren I have a bit of a sickness phobia as well but when you feel that awful it gets to the point where you become almost used to it. Thank god no more actually being sick for me at the moment but I honestly did get to a point where I just let it happen and just concentrated on it not going up my nose Envy

Sodasoda · 09/03/2016 21:55

Thanks for the constipation tips - I'm on it!

Glad they're taking you more seriously now runner. Don't worry about work. I've got a medical appointment at least once a week now for the next 6 weeks Blush

Good news dani, I got mine through yesterday and was low risk too - such a relief isn't it?

miley for me time has gone so slowly, it feels like I've already had the longest pregnancy ever! Hopefully I'll start to relax and enjoy it at some point.

Glad the seraphine dresses were successful. I got mine yesterday and I'm really pleased with them.

I'm not finding out sex. BUT - at my 12 week scan they said they could tell and would I like to know? I freaked out a bit as really wasn't expecting to be asked that early! And have since been googling like a mad person wondering if that means it's a boy if they could see that early!

My 20 week scan is 18 April when I'll only be 18+5 - is this a problem do you think?

Pinklily1 · 10/03/2016 07:26

I didn't think they could tell so early either Soda~ but they must have been fairly confident if they offered to tell you!

I'll be 19+1 at our 20 week scan, so only a few days ahead of you. The NHS website says its normal for the scan to be carried out anywhere between 18-21 weeks.

I also feel like time is going so slowly. It has felt like the longest 15 weeks of my life, but I think that's because of the sickness, and now because I am impatient for the 20 week scan!!

BunchOfBobs · 10/03/2016 07:57

I'll be 19+2 Soda, seems completely normal. I think the proper name for the scan is the abnormality scan rather than 20 week scan as that's where it causes the confusion. I asked at my dating scan if they could tell me the sex and they suggested we waited, so sounds like they could see clearly.

Time is doing strange things to me. Since 12 weeks it has flown but over all it feels like it's dragging. It really doesn't help I'm not working at the mo- just slowly going insane instead.

I'm off to the baby and toddler show this weekend, DH looked up all what's on offer there yesterday and surprisingly he's really looking forward to it. This will be the first time it's just me and him surrounded by baby stuff with no escape. He managed to negotiate our trip to mothercare by taking a business call the entire time we were in the shop Angry

Runner05 · 10/03/2016 08:05

I think I'll be nearly 21 weeks at my defect scan so I'm a bit jealous of those of you getting an early one.

Bunch lol at OH avoiding mothercare. I had a talk with my OH this morning and informed him that once we've had the defect scan and know the sex and that all is well I want to get all the basics sorted out (Moses basket, few clothes, bottles, car seat etc.) incase I end up with any of the fibroid symptoms I've read about which would make me unable to do stuff he informed me that if I've read about them I'll probably get them he's not happy about it but he's agreed I can do it so just over 4 weeks then I can go in a shopping spree!!! Grin

I have my consultant appointment at 10:20 today. No way I'm going to be able to keep my mind on work until then Confused

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 10/03/2016 08:18

I Can imagine concentrating will be hard Runner, I hope the consultant sets your mind at ease. I've already done some Shopping- got a bit carried away with cloth nappies and slings. I've been given all of my SILs 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes so I've sorted that into -definatley keeping and -will keep if boy and -no way. We're hopefully getting th car seat this weekend but only if it's on offer at the show then it's cot time. The nursery is painted but the woodwork needs doing when I'm out of the house- I've got a bit eager and carried away haven't I?!

Pinklily1 · 10/03/2016 08:22

Good luck today Runner! Be firm if they try to fob you off with anything!

The 20 week scan is know as the anomaly scan.

Mileymoocow · 10/03/2016 09:03

Hope all goes well today runner!

As for buying things... I think I can safely say I take the crown for being the most stupid eager...

We have the Phillips avent closer to nature breast feeding set (down from £150 to £65 in mothercare), moses basket and stand, wall stickers and canvases, nursery paint, a glo egg (room thermometer thingy), cot and bedding set, wardrobe, changing unit with drawers, our parents etc have all bought clothes... We got into trouble for buying so much but everything was at least 20% off in mothercare so we have saved so much money. My dad is getting our pram, my mam wants to get the car seat and base and my parents in law wanted to get the nursery furniture but instead are going to give us the money for it Blush ok, I sound a bit mental when it's all written down.

Most of the stuff my OH talked me into buying, I wanted to wait until at least 12 weeks. But saving money is a favourite hobby of his.

Runner05 · 10/03/2016 09:25

Lol, well at least I don't feel mental about buying stuff early now!!! I don't want to get too carried away as I don't know when we'll be moving and there's no point buying nursery furniture etc. until we have a nursery to put it in but I do want to make sure I have everything the baby and I need for the first couple of weeks. Hopefully we'll be in the new house before the birth and I'll be able to do the nice to haves then Grin

Pink d'oh! That's what I meant. I claim baby brain Wink

So, just wanted to get your thoughts. I'm considering writing an ebook about ttc and pregnancy from a brutally honest perspective (none of this, second trimester you will be a beautiful glowing goddess rubbish) basically the kind of book I would have liked to read before I got pregnant about real experiences and what it really feels like and generally the sort of things we talk about here.
What would your opinions be on something like that and if I asked would you be willing to share your thoughts on different aspects of pregnancy and ttc to be used in it?
The sort of thing I'm thinking of writing about is how maddening ttc is and how it can turn you from a rational human being into someone who thinks in dpo and pees in at least 3 sticks a day and what it really feels like to go through morning sickness in its various levels. That sort of thing.

Sounds like something I would have bought and read Runner . I've got the Mumsnet guide to pregnancy which is along those lines as its excepts taken from breads on here so very honest and no sugar coating.
I'd happily share thoughts.
