Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

Dr's was fine. I have another urinary infection (joy!) which I'm going to be treated for but unless I show more symptoms he didn't think anything more sinister was going on.

The dr wanted to have a feel of my tummy so I informed him I had a "rather large fibroid" he did the dismissive nod Dr's do when they think you're exaggerating. Then after the exam he looked at me puzzled and asked how big the fibroid was. I told him 10cm and his response was "oh my, that really is quite big, isn't it?" Yes, thanks, the number of medical professionals who are impressed by its size really isn't worrying at all Hmm

Hope you're ok runner. It must be a relief that it wasn't your potato causing symptoms. Has anyone talked about removing your fibroid? Is it too dangerous while pregnant? Hugs xx

BunchOfBobs · 08/03/2016 16:09

Phew glad to hear he's not concerned about Potato Runner. Sucks you have another UTI.
I'm back feeling mostly okay apart from a headache. I had a nap and more food and that made me feel much better. Thanks for asking Smile

shelbTa · 08/03/2016 17:50

Hi ladies,

Being trying to catch up.

Really glad all is ok runner.

Bunch - I'm getting headAches too.

Is anyone else getting sick of people 'warning' you about how difficult it's going to be??!! It's so negative, and there's no response back to it as you haven't been through it yet.

X

Runner05 · 08/03/2016 18:17

Shelb I haven't had many people other telling me it will be hard. I'm sick to death of people telling me not to lift anything though.

Pinklily1 · 08/03/2016 18:31

Hi ladies

Glad you are feeling better Bunch. I always feel worse when I am hungry.

Runner, glad everything with potato is ok!

I've had a lot of stabbing pains today - there is definitely growing going on Smile

I've only had one person commenting on how hard it will be Shelb. I'm just brushing it off - I'm well aware it won't be a walk in the park, I don't need the comments to remind me!

How is everyone else?

Mileymoocow · 08/03/2016 18:57

Glad everything is ok runner! Smile

I'm really struggling today. Had 3 really bad days of nausea and vomiting (not even the tablets are helping me) and I feel so run down. I have no idea how much longer I can cope with it before I have a full break down Sad

Hope everyone else is doing ok

Sodasoda · 08/03/2016 18:58

I've just had people telling me how much it'll 'change my life' Really? Because I just figured I'd shove the baby in my handbag and carry on life as usual. Sigh.

Came home to my blood test results tonight - 1 in 37,000 chance on downs, and less than 1 in 20,000 for the other two so feeling quite happy about that! I finally feel like I can tell a few people now Smile

Runner05 · 08/03/2016 19:35

So I've been intentionally irritating myself reading a post on her about a woman. Both her and her husband think her brother is committing benefit fraud, her husband reported him and she's livid about it. The general consensus from respondents is that you shouldn't shop people (especially family) for benefit fraud... This way of thinking just makes my head hurt. If he is commuting benefit fraud he is breaking the law but apparently that's ok because there are rich companies out there commuting tax avoidance (not illegal) which makes it ok. Hmm

Sigh, unrelated rant over Smile

Hi ladies, I'm tentatively checking in. I'm 5 weeks today, but after a mc at 6 weeks last Nov I'm being a bit cautious (terrified). Trying to take it a day at a time and not think about it too much, but that's easier said than done!

Runner05 · 08/03/2016 20:35

Welcome Pyxie I'm sure it will be fine. Like you say, just take it one day at a time and try to stay positive Smile

LaraG13 · 08/03/2016 20:56

Hi all!

Hi pyxie and congrats! I'm 6+5 and it's been a really worrying time. It goes really slow! I'm sure all will be well for you this time around.

Really glad everything is fine runner

you poor thing miley. It must be so hard. But there is an end in sight.

Pinklily1 · 08/03/2016 21:27

Welcome Pyxie!

When everyone got their Downs results back, did you also get a result for Edwards etc? Ours just said 1 in 50,000 risk re downs but nothing about the others.

Bless you Miley. All you can do is take each day as it comes. Are you still going to go to Dubai?

Is anyone else comparing three bumps to other people's? I'm 15 weeks today and my OH swears I have a visible bump, albeit small. I can definitely see it too. A lady at work is a few weeks ahead of me and I think I'm the same size as she is. Makes me worry that I'm getting big too quickly but I don't suppose you can help it. I still weigh less than when I got upduffed so it's not fat!!

Pinklily1 · 08/03/2016 21:27

*their bumps, not three bumps! I definitely don't have three!!

BunchOfBobs · 08/03/2016 21:38

Pink I never got any results for Pataus or Edwards but was told as its a chromosome abnormality screening they would have picked anything up.

Personally I think my bump is huge for 17 weeks, as do extended family members. It's so hard to compare though as we all start out at different shapes and sizes and if its first baby has a difference etc.

Anyone want to post bump pictures yet?

Mileymoocow · 08/03/2016 21:42

I honestly have no idea. I really want to because if I'm going to feel crappy I'd rather be somewhere luxurious but at the same time I was hoping to get back to work before we go otherwise it doesn't look great. I'm signed off until 20th so I'm within my rights as long as the doctor still thinks I'm ok to fly but I'd feel a bit guilty.

The past 4 weeks have been incredibly difficult, I've barely left the house and am starting to feel really down. OH is doing his best and I'm so grateful to him helping me through it but all I want to do is sit and cry. I'm at the end of my tether Blush I feel guilty for feeling like this, too. So many people would kill to feel the way I do just to know they were pregnant! I need to give myself a shake

LaraG13 · 08/03/2016 22:07

Miley you have nothing to feel guilty about. No one would be envious of what you're going through. Pregnant or not it's an absolute ordeal. I don't have any advice because I don't know how I'd cope - I'm struggling just with average nausea. I think you're doing amazingly well and all you can do is keep on as you are. Feeling down about it is to be expected though. It won't last forever 💐

Sodasoda · 08/03/2016 22:31

pink - yes, I got my blood results letter tonight and it had separate risks for downs and trisomy 18 and 13 (Edwards and pateu).

miley - no wonder you're feeling down, it sounds like you're having a horrible time. Big hugs.

Runner05 · 09/03/2016 07:50

Pink I know I was tested for everything but I only got results for Down's.

Miley I know exactly where you're coming from. I started to get really depressed when I was sick but it will end! I found that I started having a couple of good days, then a couple of bad then it slowly melted away into a manageable feeling of dull motion sickness.
And you don't need to feel guilty for feeling crappy. Yes, there are lots of people who would like to be pregnant, but trust me, they do not want to feel the way you do. It's debilitating, depressing and effects your whole life. One of the reasons that I stopped going on the ttc thread was because several people asked me to stop talking about how awful severe morning sickness is because they didn't want to hear it. People who are ttc want to believe that once they're upduffed everything will be shiny and wonderful, they don't want to think they'll end up with severe morning sickness, lying in bed, crying just because they feel so awful. So don't feel guilty because having been in your position I can assure you, no one else wants to be.
Just keep telling yourself, it will end!!! Thanks

I have my midwife appointment today. I'm going to kick up a fuss about why I haven't been referred to a consultant and why they haven't been monitoring my fibroid. The dr I saw yesterday was visibly concerned about its size and I'm fed up of medical professionals being shocked by it but the midwives doing f all. I have to say that so far the care I have received from them has been shockingly lack lustre and I've had enough of it. (I may be slightly grumpy as my UTI is making me feel tired and shakey)

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 09/03/2016 08:35

Runner definitely kick off its ridiculous the treatment some of you have had.

Miley be kind to yourself and take it easy. Do not feel guilty for feeling like crap. It will pass.

Anyone else getting heart palpitations, I hate them and get them every other day or so. Apparently it's normal pfft.

Runner05 · 09/03/2016 10:04

I had heart palpitations loads around 10 weeks Bunch but haven't had many since.

I just looked on Dr Google to see others experiences with large fibroids. Most of it was stuff the sonographer warned me about. Early delivery, c-section, the last few months being very uncomfortable. What they didn't warn me about was that the fibroid can twist (causing huge amounts of pain and lasting weeks) or it can die, which is very common and causes pain comparable to labour over a period of several weeks.

Sounds like fun eh?!

On the bright side, although often premature the babies seem do ok in the vast majority of cases and I'll just deal with whatever happened as long as Potato is ok!

Now I'm just keeping work in the loop so that if I need to take more extended sick leave it won't be a surprise to them.

OP posts:
Co5mo · 09/03/2016 10:40

No palpitations here but absolutely no stamina and I get breathless even walking quickly. Not quite 9 weeks now so god knows what I'll be like at 9 months.

Random projectile vomiting in the car this morning with absolutely no warning. I can only imagine how rough those of you who are really suffering are feeling.

How early did anyone start noticing tightening trousers and changing shape etc? I know I'm likely to show early because I'm small but I had expected to get to at least 12 weeks without having to ditch all my trousers for bigger sizes. Beginning to wonder if I might be a month further on than I think.

Shelb so far the only negative comments have come from my MIL. She greeted our announcement with 'was it planned' followed by 'how will you cope'. She never has been very tactful.

BunchOfBobs · 09/03/2016 10:51

Runner that really doesn't sound like fun, fx you have a calm fibroid.

Cosmo I was in maternity jeans and 2 sizes up on sweats from 8 weeks due to the massive discomfort from huge bloating. I've never gone back to normal trousers as bloat has been replaced with bump. It's a nice excuse to go shopping!

Sodasoda · 09/03/2016 11:02

cosmo my trousers have been tight since around 10 weeks and I now just wear skirts and dresses at work (I'm 13 weeks today) - it won't be long til in in proper maternity stuff but for some reason I'm trying to delay it! I think with me it may be less bump and more weight gain due to carb eating Blush

Does anyone have any good recommendations to help with constipation? Would prefer not to use lactulase but I'll try basically anything else!!

Co5mo · 09/03/2016 11:25

Soda if you massively increase your fibre uptake you might get away without laxatives. If you do need something you could try a 'bulk forming' laxative like fybogel if you want to avoid lactulose. I can't promise you won't get any side effects though.

I'm pleased it's not just me needing new clothes early. If only shopping were a pleasant experience ... when everything you try on is too long or too big it gets a bit disheartening. I'm guessing my sewing machine is about to get a lot of use altering things. It's certainly going too be interesting working out the alterations - can't imagine it will be as straight forward as normal clothes.
