Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

Great picture Danni!

I feel bloated too. Had a funny turn on the train to work this morning. It was really busy, no seats and I couldn't even get to a seat to ask if I could acquisition it (and given I'm not yet obviously pregnant I'd feel funny doing that too). Ended up almost fainting - black spots in front of the eyes and all sorts. Managed to get off at the next stop and was then sick in a flower bed (mortifying) before sitting sweating in the cold and then getting on the next train. Not my finest morning Confused

Does anyone know - when the midwife does bloods at various appointments, do they check iron levels? I'm a bit worried I might be anaemic as I'm not eating any meat or many green veg at the minute.

Shelb, McDonald's and then cake sounds amazing!

How is everyone else doing?

shelbTa · 03/03/2016 19:22

Ah pinks that's really rough - I've been there, the train commute is so tough. They should have done iron at your booking appointment? You could request one from your gp though. Are you taking vitimins? X

Sodasoda · 03/03/2016 19:34

That's rubbish pink, I'm sure I would have done the same a few times if I hadn't got a seat. I'm not sure where you are in the country but I'm in London and we have 'baby on board' badges. I've been wearing them in the morning (I usually feel a lot better on the way home) and people have been quite good about giving up their seat. I always worry about forgetting to take the badge off before I get into work but I've been ok so far!! The badges are also really useful if you're in the position of giving up a seat and you're not sure if someone is pregnant or not - saves a lot of embarrassment!

McDonald's sounds amazing! I'm really trying hard to eat healthily in the evening because my diet is terrible at breakfast and at lunch - usually carbs and cheese and biscuits!

Mileymoocow · 03/03/2016 19:53

Oh pink sounds as though you're suffering terribly. I've been having bad black outs too and was told it's low blood pressure! It's horribly frightening so I sympathise.

I'm not great - no worse but no better. We told OH'S parents tonight as his mum is at work all weekend. It was brilliant! They're so excited

Pinklily1 · 03/03/2016 20:07

Soda, I'm in the north and we don't have them up here. I think once I'm visibly pregnant is feel a lot better about asking for a seat, but a badge would help!

Miley, good point about low blood pressure. I've got my 16 week midwife appointment on 16th so I'll mention it to the midwife then and see what she says.

Shelb, you've made me want cake now Grin

Pinklily1 · 03/03/2016 20:09

Ps Shelb, yes I'm taking pregnancy vitamins, so should be getting a decent amount of iron from there I suppose.

Sodasoda · 03/03/2016 20:11

If anyone needs cheering up - seraphine has 20% mothers day discount on dresses (valid til 7th March) - just put mum20 in at the checkout online. I've just bought 3!! Grin

It's really tough when nobody can actually tell you're pregnant, it's generally when you need the most allowances made too!

Pinklily1 · 03/03/2016 21:04

Oooh. just having a look Soda. There are some lovely dresses. Which ones did you get?

Sodasoda · 03/03/2016 21:16

These ones pink. Trying to be practical and think summer / work / potential to wear for nursing after birth - hope the links work!

Evening all! I went awol for a few days (think it was a few days...?!) and I've just about caught up with everything! Hello to the newbies! Hope you're all doing ok and not feeling too crap in the 1st tri. The scans all look amazing Smile and I'm glad everyone's little beans are doing well Smile

And I hope those who are feeling rough start to improve soon! Bubbles I can't believe they think it's acceptable to push you to the back of the queue to the point where you're forced to pay for a private scan and Harmony test. Fucking disgusting. You should ask the hospital to cough up seeing as they can't offer you what should be standard procedure. I was 13+5 at my 12 week scan, so only just made it for the combined test by the looks of things.

So I'm 17 weeks today, harbouring a chipmunk! Stuff that's happened since I last posted: Had my 16 week appt, midwife told me I'm just under the required immunity for Rubella (no mention of this when I first enquired, I just got told it's all up to date) which is normal apparently for women who had the jab a while ago! And there was no record of my urine sample results on the system. So she rang the lab and discovered that I have a UTI that had gone undiagnosed (no symptoms at all) for at at least 5 weeks. Said she'd sort out antibiotics for me, had to chase the next day as she forgot to leave a note on reception or update my medical records to reflect the discovery of the UTI. Fuckwits the lot of them. I decided to write my name on my pee pot before I went in, glad I did this as the girl before me had left her sample on the sink in the consulting room with no name on it! No wonder there's mix-ups in the lab!

I have decided to keep a diary of the continued failure of service standards I seem to be witnessing. Helps me not to feel too angry or stressed, as I know that when all of this is over I have the ability to throw some serious shit at that fan.

Runner my EDD is 11th August! Can you add me to the list please?!

Oo - maternity sale! Thank you for posting the discount, will have a look :) I did buy a few bits from H&M the other day, just tops etc.

And I've been feeling flutterings! Can't be sure it's not wind, but one night I went to bed and I couldn't sleep because it felt like a party was going on in there!

Sorry for the insanely long post.

firstgo1984 · 03/03/2016 22:22

Hi all,

5+4 ish. Scan today with my lovely colleague in early pregnancy clinic. Grown from 5mm to 9mm sac in 3 days and there is now a yolk sac and possibly tiny fetal pole!

Most scanned baby ever!

Pinklily1 · 04/03/2016 07:29

Lovely Soda! I am going to get the berry ruched one too, and there is another one in the sale which I might get too - thanks for the tip!

BunchOfBobs · 04/03/2016 07:30

Oh Pink that sounds rough, hope you're feeling better now.

Amazing scan pic Danni.

Gosh some of you seem to be having a right time with the midwives/gps.
I'm massively suffering with my sit bone pain again. Except its now in my public bone and coccyx. I've been telling my go since 8 weeks I think it's pgp/spd and I was told it's just increased blood flow. Well increased blood flow is keeping me awake at night, hardly allowing me to sit down normally and making me walk as though I'm crowning. I'm back at the GP on Monday and I will cry if she refuses to put me forward to physio/do anything other than tell me to rest and take paracetamol.

That's 3 of us with flutterings now Mor. How's your bump coming on?

Mileymoocow · 04/03/2016 08:05

soda they are so lovely. I think I'll treat myself to a couple Smile

Hit an all time new low this morning. Sitting on the toilet doing my business when I realise I need to be sick. I can't throw up into the toilet as it wouldn't flush in time so I had to quickly stand up and spew in the sink with my pants around my ankles.

Pinklily1 · 04/03/2016 08:05

That's rubbish Bunch. Surely she could give you something which would be safe for baby, and a physio may be able to give you exercises to help.

At what point have you all started to feel flutterings? I'm 14+3 and definitely have a little bump now but I know it's too early to feel anything yet. I think it might freak me out a bit the first time it happens!

Runner05 · 04/03/2016 08:26

Bunch that pain say da awful. I'd kick up a fuss if they refuse to do anything.

First looking forward to the next instalment of daily bean scanning lol

God Mor your midwife sounds atrocious!

Pink your funny turn sounds a bit scary, glad you managed to get off the train.

Danni that's a lovely bean pic.

So I got my Down's results back today. 1 in over 5000 which given my age I'm perfectly happy with. Hopefully my defect scan in 5 weeks will be nice and dull and I'll be able to relax a bit.

I'm getting a bit worried that we're going to struggle to move before the baby comes. I'm at 15 weeks and my OHs house hadn't got a buyer yet. I can't even put my apartment on the market until we're happy that his sale is proceeding and then we've got to find a house to buy... It's suddenly struck me that we may not be able get everything sorted in time Sad I know it wouldn't be the end of the world but I really did want to be in the new house a few weeks before the baby arrived to make it feel like home.

Runner, that's a shame about moving. However, I wonder if things will speed up a bit after Easter. House-buying is VERY seasonable with peaks and troughs - January is a big time for people buying and selling as people have decided to do it before Christmas but wait for the new year. Equally, it then slows down before Easter and there is the school half-term. So I'd expect interest to pick up again after Easter.

Do you have an idea on where you'd like to move to?

Miley, I've been there! Though I found that if I leaned forward (on the loo), I could just about be sick into the bath, so did that. Felt rather ashamed of myself and it was disgusting to clean up... Blush

Mileymoocow · 04/03/2016 11:53

My MIL has just called round for a coffee. She's still absolutely shocked (in a good way) and wants to talk babies. She wants to buy us a bottle maker (apparently you put the water in and it adds the formula and hot/cold water in the correct ratio to feed almost immediately at body temp) but I said we were breast feeding. She said it would be good as a backup as she couldn't manage to breast feed OH and his brother as they were over 9lb (!!!!!!!!!!) and tore her nipples. I'm now petrified. I was a small baby at 6lb 5oz so am hoping it takes after me.

BelliniButterfly · 04/03/2016 11:55

Well I bit the bullet and booked my scan! Tried for the Nuffield but couldn't get the dates I wanted and suited for my husband to be there. So booked in with Babybond on Saturday 26th March when I will be 7+6. It can't come quick enough!

No symptoms to report other than the fact that I can't keep my eyes open past 9pm and I am actually sleeping through the whole night which is unheard of for me!

Also I'm very careful with diet and exercise and monitor what I eat using myfitness pal. I guess it's a habit as I've used it to help me lose 7 stone but I seem to have put on 4.5lbs since Monday! Please tell me it's to do with the pregnancy hormones??

Mileymoocow · 04/03/2016 11:58

lisa I'm glad I'm not alone Blush I was horrified but there was no way I could have swiveled round and to be honest definitely didn't want my face near the toilet!!!

I've found my go-to thing. They're not the most appetising but they're full of protein, calcium and vitamins so I don't have to eat to get my goodness... arla skyr yogurt drinks.

Morwenna1 · 04/03/2016 11:59

Bump is most definitely there Bunch! Although strangely I don't seem to be putting on any weight...hmm. I know they'll weigh me before the 20 week scan, and then they don't weigh you here until 28 wk antenatal appt. Hopefully they'll pick up if I should be eating more! Appetite hasn't disappeared. Sorry to hear about your pain, and don't take any shit from the GP - I've learnt they will take the piss if you don't put your foot down!

I might have treated myself to a Seraphine dress for a wedding coming up! Thanks for the link Soda

Pink just to say I asked about iron levels as well, and yes, they'd tell you if you were anaemic. Started to feel flutterings week 15 - 16. But I must say I wasn't completely convinced that's what they were; 1st time Mum's usually feel them 'for definite' around week 20 as they can be interpreted as indigestion etc! So I'm not sure. But it doesn't feel like indigestion to me!

Aw Miley that's not fun! Sad Hope things don't go on for too long...

You are so lucky First! I'd be exactly the same if I was in your position!

Hopefully things can work out Runner but as you say, not the end of the world if they don't...fx for you! Try not to stress about it, you have enough to think about right now!

Mileymoocow · 04/03/2016 12:02

bellini I use my fitness pal too and it's been good for seeing if I'm on track nutrition-wise. Please don't read too much into 4.5lb weight gain (you'd have to eat 15,750 calories extra on top of your recommended weekly intake for it to be fat). I was enormous from about 4-7 weeks cause of horrendous bloating. Eat healthy, nutritious foods and try not to be too disheartened at weigh fluctuations

Runner05 · 04/03/2016 12:15

I'm very envious of all you ladies eating nice healthy diets... Apparently my potato wants me to eat junk food interspersed with carrot sticks Hmm

Hahahaha if only you knew, runner! All I want is pasta with a tomato and basil sauce, toast with philidelphia, cake, fruit juices, milkshakes and lucozade. I won't have any teeth left if I keep going!
