Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

morwenna it is so hard not to when I have access to it!
I am sure I will stop doing it so often once I have seen a heartbeat. Which will hopefully be soon.
I could do one more scan on sunday night then I am not back at work til monday 14th, by which time there should def. be one to see!

Runner05 · 04/03/2016 13:03

Oh good Miley, I feel slightly better about eating a packet of fig rolls for lunch now Wink

Runner I usually have a really healthy diet and have so far lived off cheese on toast, crisps and general crap the last 2 weeks.

Went to the gym today after a week off and (fingers crossed) not feeling as nauseous as I have been. Promised myself I'm going to try to eat healthier now, I actually miss my veggies and salads but just haven't been able to face them becuase they are slimey. Has anyone else been really weird about food texture? I love crunchy salty things atm ( so crisps basically).
Glad everyone seems to be feeling slightly better and getting some food down them

firstgo1984 · 04/03/2016 14:00

when did you guys all start to feel sick? how many weeks?

Mileymoocow · 04/03/2016 14:13

first I started at 5+2

indi I'm the same, my diet used to be really good (fresh veg and lean meats every night for tea, soup for lunch etc) would rarely have cake/chocolate but now I eat mostly crap. Prawn cocktail discos are my favourite at the minute

firstgo1984 · 04/03/2016 14:15

I'm going on holiday for 4 nights next week and I am wondering if there are any over the counter anti-emetics i can get "just in case". I am absolutely fine at the moment at 5+5, but who knows if that will change!

Morwenna1 · 04/03/2016 14:25

Er, am I missing something Miley that list actually sounds quite healthy! Apart from cake, milkshakes and lucozade?

I just had carrot and butternut squash soup with toast for lunch. This morning I had honey nut cornflakes, a glass of OJ and so far 2 cups of decaf tea. Oh, and two milk chocolate digestives. I'll have some fruit once I've digested the soup, and then at around 6ish I'll have more tea with cake of some sort (Soreen is my cake substitute, but I normally cave and have something stodgier!) Tea tonight could be pasta with home made pasta sauce (toms, peppers, onions) and some ciabatta bread and then I'll have an Activia yoghurt to finish it off. And then I'll have my multi vit with water before I go to bed (can never remember to take tablets in the morning or any other time of day!)

And I'll have a few glasses of water throughout the day. Does that sound 'normal'?!! We do try and vary our meat intake, chicken dishes, mince meat, pork, fish etc.

I did help myself to a wedge of cheddar after lunch yesterday! Mmm...cheese.

Hope you see a heartbeat on Monday First!

IndiX · 04/03/2016 14:44

Mor yeah that sounds pretty good to me.
Miley I have a big thing for square crisps atm and was a bit addicted to salt and vinegar discos last week..now I'm craving them again!
First I'm sorry to say but I started feeling really bad at the 6w mark and I'm 8+3 today, however today I'm not too bad. I'm hoping I'm coming to the end of that vile nausea now.

LaraG13 · 04/03/2016 14:45

Good to know things are shaping up on your scans first. I've just started getting nauseous the past two days. I'm 6+1. It's fairly mild so far.

Bugmuncher · 04/03/2016 14:58

I generally try to eat healthy but in the last few weeks if it's not beige I can't stomach it. I think I'm going to end up having a mini cheddar baby!

On a different note - when are you ladies planning on telling work? I'm 10 weeks but my work organise lots of drinks and lunches and it's so awkward thinking of reasons of why I'm not drinking or not eating certain foods. I feel like they must have guessed already!

Planeteer · 04/03/2016 15:04

I'm really struggling to eat healthily too. I seem to swing from wanting nothing but citrus, to getting halfway through a satsuma and deciding it's the Devils fruit.

The only constants are cheese on toast and crisps, and apart from lots of walking I've done no exercise since I got my bfp. Really need to get back to the gym, but am trying not to beat myself up about it.

Danni89 · 04/03/2016 15:29

Bug- I'm planning to tell work either next week or the week after, was gonna try and wait till I get my results back. I'll be 13 weeks on Sunday

Lesbecky · 04/03/2016 16:15

bubbles that fob off sounds terrible. I wonder if the hospital can get you in at least for the bloods part at your booking test or find you an earlier scan. I'm impressed at how well you wiped the floor with the admin person.

Sodasoda · 04/03/2016 16:42

I'm going to ask seraphine for commission Grin

first - my nausea started after the 6 week mark and continued fairly constantly through to around week 10. Since then I've had some bad days but a definite general upward trend. I haven't had it anywhere near as bad as some people on this thread though - mainly just a feeling of being hungover! I've only actually been sick on 4 or 5 days.

My diet sounds very similar to everyone else - very reassuring! It's been lots of carbs, cheese and crisps so far. I'm in the camp that's needed to eat a lot to stop myself feeling sick so I feel very blob-like at the moment. Really want to get back to gym. That's the disadvantage of getting pregnant when you're already carrying some Christmas weight!

danni - I told my boss as I've had a lot of hospital appointments (consultant led for various things) and she caught me being sick! But I won't tell others until I get my blood results back. However they did tell me they'd ring me in 3 working days if I was high risk otherwise they'd send me a letter. So if I don't hear anything by end of Monday I'll start to feel more relaxed about telling people I think.

Hope everyone has nice weekends planned. I'm heading up north with DH for a visit home to see my parents which should be nice.

shelbTa · 04/03/2016 17:51

Hi everyone,

Echo the healthy eating! I'm doing not too bad, but then sometimes my stomach will become suddenly empty, I'll get that shit nausea and vom feeling, and I'll grab the nearest thing.

It's hard isn't it, trying not to vom, getting enough energy, yet also (for those who care) not piling on too much weight. I've been to the gym one since getting upduffed! Guna try again this weekend.

X

Morwenna1 · 04/03/2016 18:25

Soda You could give them a ring after a week or so to get your blood results. I know they said that I'd know if I was high risk within 3 days, but the thought did cross my mind that I might have slipped through the net and I would have told everyone without having it in black and white as it were (going by the track record since I'm glad I didn't tell everyone before calling!). They told me I'd have to wait 2 weeks for a low risk result, but I rung up the ultrasound department, they looked into it for me there and then so I was finally able to tell people!

Morwenna1 · 04/03/2016 18:26

Glad my diet sounds normal!! I do need to get more exercise. Never been a gym-goer, but I think I need to up the walking in general.

Pinklily1 · 04/03/2016 18:59

My diet has been very beige too! Still totally off meat so it's also a vegetarian diet at the minute! I'm starting to get slightly back to normal in the sense that I am managing to eat fruit again, which is always a bonus!

I'm not a massive cheese person generally but today i discovered that I can stomach baby bel!

Woke up today and my tummy feels much bigger than before. I hadn't expected to show at this stage (14+3) but there is definitely and emerging mini bump!

I told my boss at 7 weeks but that was because I was off for a fair while with sickness. Told everyone else after 12 week scan.

Newmrs22 · 04/03/2016 19:07

Ooh glad to hear about people's diet. Mines similar.

I told my line manager at about 8 weeks because I felt so crap, but everyone else at work after scan.

mor I'm jealous of the flutterings! Apparently my placenta is at the front so I may not feel anything for ages. And even when I do, it will be less than if I had a normal placenta.

Co5mo · 04/03/2016 19:49

Thanks for the congratulations everyone. Have had a great couple of days at work clearing out the files and rearranging so our team can work in my way Smile. I told work pretty much straight away buy only because I have to avoid certain jobs because of risk to my strawberry.

Let me know how the dresses fit ladies. I'm not very confident with online shopping for clothes because I'm not very tall so fit is very often a problem.

Runner05 · 05/03/2016 08:14

First I got to about 6 weeks and then my nausea killed me. It didn't really stop until gone 13 weeks and even so I've had to take anti sickness meds since then to keep me going.

Bug I told my boss in confidence at about 6 weeks because I was so poorly but as employers have to give you paid time off for all pregnancy related appointments it's worth letting them know. I announced to everyone at 12 weeks.

I'm 15 weeks today, with an avocado sized potato (might have to nip into a supermarket today to see how big that is Confused) my app has informed me that with any luck I should start feeling kicks in the next week or two (yay!)

Is anyone else getting hip pain during the night? I'm being woken up four or five times a night by it and I have to turn over or it gets very uncomfortable .

Hi everyone sorry been busy and MIA so just catching up on the thread - congrats on the lovely scans miley and danni!

Sickness has turned up this week and random things will make me feel sick like the look of dishes in the sink (which I had to run away from), feeling like food is too dry to consume, finding random things had an 'oniony' taste (DH adamant it tasted nothing like onion) and just not being able to eat stomach anything outside of ice cold water. Thankfully no actual vomming - yet. I'm 7+5 so I hope it subsides soon!

I may have to tell boss soon too as she's mentioned she's got big plans this year for my role and so it's only fair that I'm going to be out of action around October time! Also she was quite supportive during my mc last year and asked me to please tell her when I'm pg again because she wants to make sure I don't get too much stress at work esp during 1st trimester. We'll see!

Good news I got my scan appointment letter in the mail! It's in 4 weeks time but still no sign of my booking in appointment. How weird is that? Last time I was at my booking in appointment before they even tried to schedule in my scan!

LisaTheGreek · 05/03/2016 09:38

Hi everyone! Think my diet is pretty similar to others' here too. I love fruit, salad, and veg normally, but struggling to keep it down so I'm on more beige than usual. I think someone mentioned cheese and biscuits - those seem to be working for me!

Had our early scan last night. Was pretty terrified but DH was good at distracting me before we went in. Saw the heartbeat, just one baby, and everything seems fine. I'm measuring one day ahead of where I thought I was, so I won't bother to change any of my timing.

Now just three and a half weeks to wait until the proper NHS one (when I'll be 13 weeks).

LillianFullStop · 05/03/2016 10:52

Congrats on the scan and heartbeat lisa hope it was reassuring for you Smile

LisaTheGreek · 05/03/2016 11:18

Thanks Lillian! It was reassuring, but also it just really brought home how REAL this all is. I think I convinced myself to not really take the pregnancy that seriously until it was confirmed.
