Thread #3 - TTC#1 Grads thread. No TMI is too much, no question too stupid!

Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

Aaah congrats on the milestones soda and pink. I am 8 weeks today so a mini milestone for me.
Good luck for scans tomorrow, I have my early one after my brown spotting over the weekend. Ive not bled/spotted since so I'm trying to keep positive. I just want to see a happy little bean in there with a strong heartbeat and I'll feel A LOT better.

Side note..I thought first trimester was 12 weeks? Please don't tell me I'll have this nausea up until 14weeks?! Sad

firstgo1984 · 01/03/2016 09:33

Your 1st trimester combined screening can be done right up til 13+6

Lesbecky · 01/03/2016 10:54

Sorry indiX my comment is just about the new screening. Not how long the trimester is. The combined test gives a bigger window than we used to have.

Mileymoocow · 01/03/2016 11:47

Morning ladies. I've only just managed to get out of bed since 9pm last night Blush
Feeling even more rough than I have for 3 weeks today so am feeling sorry for myself! Never mind, midwife and scan tomorrow Grin

How is everyone? Glad to see you here becky

Laurenrl · 01/03/2016 15:36

Just had my booking in appointment, so boring! Haha although I must've shot her the weirdest look when she asked if my and my partner were related at all as she was like 'I'm sorry, I'm sure you're not, I just have to ask' hahaha

Nevlet · 01/03/2016 16:26

welcome to everyone who has joined us an fx!

I'm a bit worried am 13+2 and the last few days almost a week I don't feel pregnant anymore. I don't feel sick or too exhausted, in myself I am back to normal. I don't have a bump, can't feel the baby yet or anything at all. It's really making me panic!

Runner05 · 01/03/2016 16:42

Don't worry Nev that just means that you've hit the mythical second trimester when you go back to feeling like a normal human being again unless you're me enjoy it for soon the discomfort will kick in Smile

Can I hop on and place mark please? I am 5+2, due in early November according to guesstimates! I'm just plodding along at the moment with mild nausea (no vomming though) and various other small symptoms!

Bugmuncher · 01/03/2016 16:59

Hello everyone! New joiner here. Random paranoid question - I had a private scan at 8 weeks and everything was fine which was lovely but should I keep quiet about this? I read somewhere that if you've had an early scan they sometimes cancel your 12 week scan? Has anyone had any experience of this? Xx

Runner05 · 01/03/2016 17:30

Welcome Rattie and Bug. Please let me know your EDDs so that I can add you to our list.

Bug I've never heard of the 12week scan being cancelled and most of the ladies on this thread have had early scans. They use the 12 week scan to date and do the Down's syndrome screening so i think it's very unlikely they would have any cause to cancel.

Soda, I always thought after 12 weeks you are in the second trimester, but Ovia seems to disagree! I also have the Pregnancy + app and that moved me to the second trimester when I came to the end of my twelfth week.

Nev, don't panic. It doesn't mean anything is wrong, probably just the joys of trimester two.

Sorry to hear you are feeling worse Miley. Have the anti sickness meds helped at all?

Welcome to newbies and good luck to everyone who has scans tomorrow! I haven't heard of a 12 week scan being cancelled if you have an early one either.

How is everyone else doing?

Pinklily1 · 01/03/2016 18:13

Ps Lauren~ I can't believe she asked if you were related! I wonder what she would do if someday someone says yes!

Mileymoocow · 01/03/2016 18:17

bug were you on the ttc forum? I recognise your name! I think it should be ok as the nhs and private scans are completely separate.

pink they do a little bit, I hate taking them though as I feel guilty as hell Sad had to take one this afternoon though as I couldn't keep water down long enough for my body to melt the ice. My weightloss has slowed down though and I had 2 good meals over the weekend. I have forced myself to graze all day on various things and managed to keep some of it down. I refuse to end up in hospital!!

nev you're in a magical place I can only dream of for now! Please enjoy it for both of us and I can't wait to join you!!

Nevlet · 01/03/2016 18:29

Oh miley im sorry you are suffering so much! I wish I could enjoy it I'm convinced theres something wrong... Maybe once i get a bump or can even just feel a lump inside it will seem more real!!

Bugmuncher · 01/03/2016 18:48

Hi miley - yes I was. I was on the Oct 2016 thread for a while but it's nice to be back with some familiar faces (should that be names?)

Newmrs22 · 01/03/2016 18:49

I had the 'are you related'question but it was on a form to fill in to take to the booking appointment. Apparently in some cultures it's very common for first cousins to marry, so they have to ask because babies are rpat higher risk of genetic disorders.

Had my 16 week midwife appointment today. Was kind of a waste of time... But I heard heart beat which was nice Grin

Bugmuncher · 01/03/2016 18:49

And thanks everyone for the responses. When I had the 8 week scan the sonographer said I have two large ovarian cysts which aren't anything to worry about but that I should mention it to the midwife

RattieOfCatan · 01/03/2016 18:53

November the 6th, at the moment anyway!

Mileymoocow · 01/03/2016 19:04

Thanks ladies. Honestly some days I wake up and think how the hell can I do another day of this. It's so depressing sometimes as I can't even bate the smell of a lot of things so can't leave the house on a bad day!

Did anyone else get 2 pots to pee in before their booking in appointment? I have one white top and one red topped bottle that have to be done with fmu?

Planeteer · 01/03/2016 19:05

Evening all, will get catching up in a sec, just need a small moan. Told my dsis today - it's her birthday- and she was excited for about 30 seconds and then had a go about me not having told her before now. Quote 'you know I've been having a shit time at work and this would have made me feel better. I'm happy and everything I just don't get why the hell you didn't tell me sooner.'

Sigh.

Nevlet · 01/03/2016 20:15

Completely OT but any tips for preventing a layer of skin forming on a home made curry? I would understand if it was as its cooling but this is while simmering!!

Planeteer · 01/03/2016 20:16

Has it got lots of butter in it Nev?

Nevlet · 01/03/2016 20:16

No coconut milk and coconut cream. It always does this but tonight its annoying me haha

Planeteer · 01/03/2016 20:22

I think (and I'm sure someone with more culinary skillz will be along in a minute!) that it's something to do with the coconut cream separating when it gets hot - the oil in it rises to the surface. I tend to stir like a maniac, but appreciate that might not be wildly appealing!

Nevlet · 01/03/2016 20:26

Thats what i thought plant i am trying the stirry technique... Have brought a bar stool over to the hob haha
