This one seems to be the winner, and I can't seem to come up with anything more inventive, sorry!

I've put on 2st so far, haven't weighed myself this week yet, but have consumed rather a large amount of chocolate since then, so could be a bit more. I'm down to 2 packets of choc buttons, and some dodgy looking festive chocolates so chocolate levels are getting a bit low. Can't be bothered going to get any more though.

wilkie, I just unplug the phone, put mobile on silent and shove my ear plugs in! I'm becoming really anti-social. Maybe ring him at 6am when you have insomia to give him a quick update on how you are?!

Ha ha, Lizzz, just ask anyone who knows me (Loosh? Where are you?) I am about the most disorganised person you could meet. As is dh. People have to tell us a time at least an hour before they want us to arrive as we're always patologically late. But running out of chocolate, you're right, it's an unforgivable sin! But since I did the shopping, (and ate all the chocolate that there already was) who can I blame?!
Wonder how Nemo and UD got on today?

Shimmer · 04/01/2007 17:55

Another disapointing appointment with GP for me today Well, it's nothing bad, just nothing much happening either. I'm due in 1 week and baby's head still not engaged and still haven't had any BH or anything to make me think this baby might be thinking about making his way out anytime soon Bascially just getting fatter and that's it!
I have been eating copious amounts of chocolate in the last month particually (2Happy - I could NEVER let there be no chocolate in the house. Just NEVER. EVER) and know I have put on about 3 stone. I'm not too worried about it at the moment though and am just hoping b/feeding and actually being able to move around without pain will help shift it after the birth Although I did see today that my local tesco have started selling mini eggs and creme eggs again (is it easter already???) both of which I LOVE and tend to get a bit obsessed with every year. Think I know what snacks are getting packed in my hospital bag!

Hattie2 · 04/01/2007 18:14

I made the mistake of getting on the scales this morning and had a big shock! Last time I weighed myself (sure it wasn't that long ago) I had put on 2 stone and it's almost 3 now. I thought you weren't supposed to put much extra on towards the end! But I'm sure most of that is water around my ankles (I say ankles, but there's no shape left there now just tree trunks ) and in my sausage-like fingers.

Loubie37 · 04/01/2007 18:19

10lbs....but can't be too smug as I'm way overweight to start with so it's a good job really

And for some strange reason I'm not interested in the Xmas choccies...2happy, I'll post them to you!

Loubie xx

LadyTophamHatt · 04/01/2007 18:22

Bloody hell...what is this pain??

really really REALLY sharp stabbing pain on my left left, above the bump, sort of where my bump joins the rest of the un-PG me IYSWIM.
Just at the edge of my ribcage.

It feels like someone it poking me with red hot knitting needle!

What with that and my bloody nipples feeling like they've got clamps on I am NOT a happy bunny.

(no change there then, I hear you all say)

LadyTophamHatt · 04/01/2007 18:24

Hah....conveiently the battiry in our scales has run out so I have no idea how much I weigh.

I suspect i've put on about 3st, maybe a bit more.

Lizzzombie · 04/01/2007 18:26

ok, as my penalty for laughing at your no chocolate situation I have developed chronic heartburn. I feel sick as a dog and there is no way I can face dinner at all tonight. I just want to curl up with a hot water bottle, but lying down will make it worse.

I WANT THIS BABY OUT!!!!!!!

JoJo30 · 04/01/2007 18:35

My mum is obviously a mind reader. She just arrived with a 3-pack of chocolate buttons, and some flowers to cheer me up. What a sweetie.

I spotted the mini-eggs yesterday in tescos too shimmer. I agree, definitely going to have to get some to go in the hospital bag.

TinsellyRhino · 04/01/2007 18:43

I have exactly the same thing lady, was told it was the muscles stretching to allow for growth but MAN it hurts

LadyTophamHatt · 04/01/2007 18:48

"allow for growth"

Fuck me...not more growth!

Honestly it feels like a red hot needle!

theUrbanDryadsMum · 04/01/2007 19:37

Just to keep you all updated and to get yo to send vibes in her direction:- Urban was on a drip for some time but things were still not progressing very well so they were thinking of a section. Then at 18.33 dh sent a message:" Latest news:- Things going properly now. Hopefully need for caesarian avoided. Still could be 12 hours though. Very tired." So there you have it.

2Happy · 04/01/2007 19:39

Good luck UD, lots of positive vibes.
Thanks, UDmum - I don't know if she has siblings, will this be your first grandchild?

freedomfighter · 04/01/2007 19:55

had exhausting day today - spent entire day between doctors and hospital. had early appointment at doctors cos had felt less movements and got referred for a trace which had abnormal heart rate then a second trace later in the day which was normal! have to go back to hospital tomorrow for repeat trace, was first time met consultant and she seemed very nice which is all reassuring just in case! thought for one minute thought that I was going to be booked in for a caesarean.

38+4

freedomfighter · 04/01/2007 19:58

Just re reading some posts, please do eat even if you get heartburn or dont feel like it, the consultant today told me the baby's heart rate had gone abnormally low probably cos I hadn't eaten properly since breakfast..im amazed that a delay in lunch can make such a difference but apparently it can as well as if you're dehydrated and not drinking enough fluid [concerned face]

Daisypops · 04/01/2007 21:33

Good luck Urban! Keep us posted UDmum.

Jojo, I'm sweaty too & have put on over 3 stone everyone says is all bump, but its ass and thighs too!

Mrs Worry-my bubs head is now 2/5 engaged and I cant really tell, its affecting how I walk and feels like my fairy is bruised.

EPM -I have blitzed the house to will also be very if DP makes a mess when I go in to hospital!

Had 39 week check today, bp was up, had protein in my wee and swollen ankles, had to go be checked out. Bub is ok, bp went down when I went to hospital but there is still protein in my wee. Hospital rang me at teatime to say I have a UTI. Have to go back up on Saturday to be checked over again. DP is panicking like mad. Having BH but not painful ones. First MW I saw who referred me to hospital said if this baby gets any lower it'll be out...! It must be time now, I've had enough, all that pressure down there isn't breaking my waters though?

Hope UD is ok.

LTH is it a stitch or rib flare?

Daisypops · 04/01/2007 22:32

Oh yes and to top if off when I got home the cat had puked twice and shit on the lounge carpet! I cried!

Harry2007 · 04/01/2007 23:28

Good luck Urban and everyone else who's nearly there!

Seeing my Consultant on Monday to book CS - the days are passing so slowly though. I feel as if I need to be sedated until Monday afternoon when I see the doctor.

LTH, I have also had that red hot needle type pain under my ribs. I'm currently taking pethidine for severe SPD and even that didn't touch the rib pain. It stayed for a couple of days before the area went completely numb, as if I'd had a local anaesthetic and 3 weeks later, the numb patch is still there but has got bigger as my skin has stretched more. Very strange feeling!

trixymalixy · 04/01/2007 23:35

My friends are so lovely!!!

Friend said she was having some people round for drinks and food this afternoon as she hadn't seen us at new year, turns out it was a surprise baby shower for me!!!

The bought me a spa voucher for a massage, manicure and facial and loads of chocs and magazines. Plus some oil for massaging certain ahem bits .

Have eaten so much that I now feel sick and have horrendous heartburn and have run out of gaviscon.

Congrats to Tilly and good luck to UD!

katierocket · 05/01/2007 08:57

LTH, I've had that pain for pretty much 3 weeks. It's like hot needles stabbing me just by the bra line. No idea what it is, I figured it's either indigestion or the baby irritating one of the organs by pushing up against it. Very horrible though.

Shimmer, doesn't matter if you're baby's head is not engaged or that you're not having BH - I did get either with my first.

muppet3 · 05/01/2007 09:15

Loubie - looks like we're on the same timing. Discussed induction due to PUPPP with doctor yesterday and am booked in for next Thursday as well if things haven't got moving (I'll be 41 weeks then). Unlike you though attempt at sweep failed as cervix clamped tight shut and still posterior? Anyone know if a week is really likely to make enough difference to it to avoid this induction being a rather drawn out job?

LadyTophamHatt · 05/01/2007 09:22

KR, I've been braless since yesterday thinking it was that causing it...but no.

It's bloody pianful, isn't it? I'd would have gone mad having 3 weeks of it, 24 hours is enough.

Harry2007 · 05/01/2007 09:27

LTH - not wanting to depress you, but couldn't actually find any way of getting rid of that pain at all. Don't know whether I just got used to the pain after a while or whether the numbness helped - see my post below. I'm convinced that it was caused by the baby kicking or pushing against a particular nerve in that area.

2Happy · 05/01/2007 09:37

Is it a right burning intense pain on left side of ribs/top of bump? I get that from the moment my womb hits the top of my tummy until the baby's born. It's a complete PITA, sore, and totally disturbs sleep since I'm trying to sleep on my left to get baby into the right position.
Nothing from UD/UDmum? Hope everything ok. Saw Jodie's update on the other thread - hope the induction goes ok. And hope Nemo ok yesterday.
Good luck to EPM today, and is it DH as well?
