This one seems to be the winner, and I can't seem to come up with anything more inventive, sorry!

ooh good news urban
I was hoping you'd get started last night and not have to go to hospital

I think the sicky feeling is normal for labour, try to relax, you sound calm which is good

ooo sooo exciting

theUrbanDryad · 04/01/2007 10:07

ok - scratch that last message. MW has just been and said that the MW from last night had been a bit optomistic in the 3cm diagnosis and that she'd put me at 2cm. also, contractions have gone off now, it's just not gonna happen. so, we're off to labour ward. i'm a bit sad, but i always said i'd start my labour at home and see how it went (words of wisdom from dr miriam there!) so i'm not too bitterly disappointed.

anyway, the next time i post will be with a birth announcement, so yay!

Galmum · 04/01/2007 10:29

Babies Babies Babies!! Huge congratulations to RGEE & TILLPUP.

Good luck to UrbanDryad & all those well on their way!

Husband's cousin had a baby boy last night - I'm beside myself with anticipation - bring it on - I can't wait until 27th Jan - I am huge, immobile and can hardly sleep!!

FlamesparrowThePirate · 04/01/2007 10:47

Urban good luck hope to hear your news very soon.
Ellie and dragon good luck for tmoz i am the same as you ellie keep having really guility feelings about having another I keep hugging and kissing ds even though there are days where you want to kill them .

Tilly what a lovely labour and a lovely outcome.

I want to have sex but have got thrush thanks to antibiotics, the only reason why I want it is to start labour .

Loubie37 · 04/01/2007 13:35

Good luck UD, hope everything goes well

Congrats to all the ladies with new arrivals too, I'm very jealous!

I might not have too long to wait though....I had an appt this morning to discuss induction (due to severe SPD), when they checked me I'm already 2cms dilated and baby's head is engaged So I've had a sweep and if nothing happens by a week today I'm being induced

Trying not to get too excited as I'm not due until the 20th, but have had some contractions since that although aren't painful as such they're different to the BH's I've been having, they're a lot lower down.

Good luck to everyone else

Loubie xx

Congratulations to Tilly and good luck UD - I can't believe how quickly eveyone has kicked off the baby arrivals this month!

Quick question if anyone is around - I have felt very different for the last couple of days, as if baby is ready (which is wierd as I hadn't even thought about baby coming early). Also had a show on Monday and woke up this morning with a very sore ladies area (like I have been kicked a million times in the crotch and need to sit in a bucket of ice. Last night I could really feel the babies head bearing down and moving down - Doc said I was engaged yesterday. Also been getting a lot of back pain the last few days (almost unbearable).

Do you think that this sounds like I will be soon or are these not really warning signs? I am 36 + 3.

any advice greatly appreciated!

Lizzzombie · 04/01/2007 14:01

Just got back from the MW. I am 2/5 engaged now - woo hoo! Baby is due on Sunday officially but I have a sweep booked for next Thursday if he doesnt turn up.

Am beginning to get really scared now.

Mrs Worry - what you have sounds exactly like I have had for the last 4 weeks. Except I've not had a show yet. But incredble pressure of bearing down the whole time and feeling like I have been kicked in the crotch constantly. I brought some femme pads from mothercare (gel ice packs) and they really help soothe it down there. If you are really worried I would say ask your midwife, but one thing I have learnt so far is that there are no hard and fast rules on this. Everyone is different so its hard to say if they are exact signs.

Goodluck UD. I'm jealous you were due two days after me, and your popping before me! x

elliepmummy · 04/01/2007 14:10

Hello hope UD is doing okay and Jodie as no update from her yet??

DD in much better mood today just having a battle to get eye drops in but thats nanny and grandads problem from 3.30 till monday (seems a very long time not to have her but at the same time quite looking forward to having a bit of a rest) my dad popped round ealier to pick up all her clothes for the weekend as she is at IL's tonight and then my mum & dad picking her up tea time tomorrow and ses there till monday which I am really pleased about as she loves it there. I was attempting to give the house a last quick clean and ellie trying to help me with her hoover etc so my dad has taken her to feed ducks and swings for half hour so manaed to sweep all floors hoover upstiars and sort clean washing so all I have to do later is iron the bedsheets I washed today and then I can relax. Just hope dh doesnt make a huuuge mess whilst I am not here as I will be very on monday if the place is a tip.

Anyway probably post later but bye for now xx

wilkie50 · 04/01/2007 14:14

Bonjour

So jealous about all of these little bundles popping out all over the place - want mine now [sulky Wilkie50 face]

Popped into town earlier and bloody car broke down on the bypass - had to wait for nice AA man to come and rescue me. Towed me to garage and then gave me a lift home - bless him Think he was more worried about me going into labour in his van! I suppose it could have been worse - the car could have broken down on way to hosp

Off for a sleep now - am v tired today

Hattie2 · 04/01/2007 14:35

Congrats Tilly, all sounds too easy and only swearing once is very impressive .

Hope UD is getting on OK.

Good luck for tomorrow epm and dragonhart.

Had consultant appt this morning (edd is tomorrow) and he won't even consider a sweep until this time next week. Just hope I don't last long enough to make it to that appt!

el123456 · 04/01/2007 15:24

congrats to all who have popped and well done!I actually really fancy sex(honestly)but hubby says very large bump to unnerving!Trying not to get to offended but am secretly thinking just you wait till the tables turn....I have no sex drive at all when breastfeeding!Anyway good luck to all, this ones got to stay in till at least saturday, the new boiler will be fitted by then.Cant wait for heating and hot water again!

2Happy · 04/01/2007 15:31

Oh NO!

No

nononononono

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

How can it have happened? How is it possible?

There's no chocolate anywhere in the house

ds is napping (hallelujah) so I can't even go anywhere and get some
What am I going to do????

JoJo32 · 04/01/2007 15:32

How exciting - Christmas and the New Year really has helped in speeding us all along!

Had my special stitch out yesterday and my cervix is now 1cm open and softening...I reckon it only has to be a matter of days...pleeeeeease!

Anyone else getting all sweaty (nice) whilst trying to sleep?! As if heartburn and grunting everytime you need to move isn't bad enough!

Baby soon...tra la la!!

JoJo32 · 04/01/2007 15:36

2happy. That's just terrible. I'm not sure I could cope.

Dare I ask how much weight you ladies have put on during pregnancy...? I stood on the scales earlier and almost p!ssed myself laughing. All bump my arse - it can't possibly weigh that much?! I was fully clothed and have masses of hair (all over the bloody place) which may have accounted for some of the TWO AND A HALF STONE!!!!

2Happy · 04/01/2007 15:40

Ah well, the fact that I have eaten every morsel of chocolate in this house should give you some indication of how much weight I've put on

JoJo32 · 04/01/2007 15:44

I did almost a tin of christmas chocs last night. My DP just watches in awe...or is that disgust..not sure!

2Happy · 04/01/2007 15:50

lol!

el123456 · 04/01/2007 16:15

I have put on 3 stone with every pregnancy but it always dropped off with breast feeding really quickly so fingers crossed this time will be the same.

wilkie50 · 04/01/2007 16:23

LOL 2Happy - I have just made the executive decision to throw my big tin of chocolates in the dustbin cos I literally cannot stop eating them. Just have to munch my way through a giant Toblerone and Thorntons chocs first (hey - a girl needs needs some chocolate).

Have put on 2st 2lbs so far...!!

wilkie50 · 04/01/2007 16:25

And another thing - why does my dear FIL insist on ringing every afternoon when he knows it is my sleep time!!!!! I cannot even begin to express the frustration of a pregnant lady being woken up yet again by her FIL wanting to 'see how she is'. He is being very sweet but couldn't he ring in a morning or evening. Wilkie50 is a grumpy lady when she hasn't had her nap

Lizzzombie · 04/01/2007 16:47

I have put on 2 stone ish, and I intend to keep it on. (am now 13.5 stone) As soon as this baby comes out I am going to eat for England and make up for the last 3 months of heart burn hell. If my mother dares make one comment about me keeping baby fat on, then I will ban her from holidng her latest granchild.

Bring on the lard.
2 Happy, I feel the need to comment on your disorganisation! Ok, so my flat is a tip and the baby's room is no where near ready, but at least I have got a family sized bar of dairy milk in the fridge!
