This one seems to be the winner, and I can't seem to come up with anything more inventive, sorry!

LadyTophamHatt · 05/01/2007 09:40

Sorry Harry, I missed your post.

Bloody things we have to go through to produce the next generation, eh??

It isn't as constant this morning, just the odd jab with burning hot needle driving me nuts.

I'm due on Tuesday so hopefully I won't have it too much longer....

Joy of all joys....we're going to do the last big food shop before the baby arrives in a minute. With the ds's in tow!

Heaven help me!

wilkie50 · 05/01/2007 09:52

Waaaay too much chat going on ladies - how am I supposed to keep up????

No time for personals apart from LTH - ouch! - hope you are feeling a bit better.

Any news from UD or Jodie? Thought they would have popped overnight?

Well, went out for my maternity leaving do from work last night - my friend (who is a week pregnant behind me) organised it cos the miserable b*stards in the office wouldn't do it. We originally had 16 booked, only 11 turned up and....I know this isn't everything but GOD how skanky....they got us absolutely nothing. Not a card, not some flowers NOTHING. Is this normal? Am I being greedy?????

They did a collection for the cleaner at Christmas for a christmas gift and got together £55!!! My friend and I have been there loads longer and do loads for the company and got sweet FA. I am so disappointed.

theUrbanDryadsMum · 05/01/2007 09:55

Just to let you know Urban had her baby boy at 7.30 this morning. All well. I heard him make a little sound over the 'phone at just am hour old. She will be in touch with you all later with all the details

wilkie50 · 05/01/2007 09:56

Yey!! Congratulations Urban and thank you Grandma Urban for letting us know . What did she call him?

Hattie2 · 05/01/2007 10:04

Many congrats UD, great news

LTH - you're wanted on chat !

RGee · 05/01/2007 10:35

Hi all. God you've all been busy. It's taken me hours to catch up on the latest gossip.

HUGE CONGRATS TO URBAN AND TILLYPUP!

Pippa doing well, and I am sleepy.

Hang on in there - not long to go.

JodieG1 · 05/01/2007 10:40

I'm still here. I was supposed to go in and be induced this morning but I'm so ill this morning that I feel like Im dying I have an awful cough, sore throat, can barely speak and feel achy all over. I'll be giving the hospital a call later on to see what to do next as I really cannot face being induced and looking after a newborn feeling like this, its different if I go naturally but definitely not being induced yet. I am still getting contractions too so maybe I won't even need the inducement.

Lizzzombie · 05/01/2007 11:03

Jodie - you poor thing, I hope you feel better soon, you have my full sympathies.

Wilkie - that is outragous! Although, maybe they will give you a present when the baby is actually born instead, and are just waiting to see if its a boy or a girl?

Big congratulations to UD - majorly jealous!

In other news, I didnt get heartburn last night! Woo Hoo! This baby must have dropped a bit more. I am so happy!

Galmum · 05/01/2007 11:14

Another day, another baby - well done Urban! I hope you don't get induced Jodie - it would be miserable to go through it all unwell.

I am so happy - saw my consultant for the second time and he is SO LOVELY! Unlike the registrar who scared the shit out of me before Christmas, by talking about my giant baby and the possible need for early induction or cs and the danger of the shoulders getting stuck!

She had booked in me for another scan (having only had one 2 weeks before) yesterday, which I cancelled as felt it was crazy to do another scan at 36+5 - seems a bit early. Consultant agreed and has not booked me in for another scan. He was so nice - he's not inducing me, happy to let me go 40+ a few days atleast, and wants me to go into labour spontaneously and is confident I can deliver a big baby. I feel soooo much better about it all. I'm seeing him weekly and we'll see how it goes.

2Happy · 05/01/2007 11:27

Congratulations, UD
Hope you don't get induced feeling this rubbish, Jodie.
Galmum really pleased the consultant appt went well, what a relief.

wilkie50 · 05/01/2007 11:42

Oh Lizzz - I used to be that optimistic but I think not stupid company to work for anyway

Galmum - glad appointment went well

Jodie - poor you, take to your bed and get DH to make you lots of hot drinks

Lizzzombie · 05/01/2007 11:57

wilkie - good job that your LO could herald the start of a new career then!

I got a pedicure voucher for part of my baby shower present, trouble is, the salon is a bus ride away, and would involve me showering and changing out of pyjamas..hmm, not sure if I can be bothered! Everything is so much hassle at the moment.

wilkie50 · 05/01/2007 12:02

I agree totally - I have all of these notions about cleaning and sorting but I just cannot be arsed. I can't kneel as I get cramp and I can't bend cos of bump so I end up sitting - hence the numerous posts from my laptop onto MN. Don't know what I would do without it.

So want this baby out now - I want my body and energy back

Lizzzombie · 05/01/2007 12:12

I know! I wake up with good intentions of cleaning windows and sorting things out...but then get overwhelmingly tiered and have to go back to bed again.
Just thinking about housework makes me yawn! I didnt even wake up till 10.30am this morning and am already thinking about an afternoon nap.
DP reckons I need sleep credit for when the baby arrives so he is encouraging me to go and snooze!

wilkie50 · 05/01/2007 12:50

Oh good - I'm glad I'm not the only one who wakes in the morning only to go back to bed two hours later. Just been for a snooze and the phone woke me up. Garage to say that my delightful car is going to cost me £320 to fix. FFS!!!!

TinsellyRhino · 05/01/2007 12:52

oooo congrats UD

Shameless · 05/01/2007 12:52

CONGRATULATIONS UD
(and thanks UD's mum for the update!)

Loubie37 · 05/01/2007 14:03

Congrats UD Wonder who'll be next....?! I had a show late last night, gross it was too, but having read up about it on the internet it could be anything up to 2 weeks away so I'm trying not to get too excited/scared. Having anothe sweep on Tuesday if I'm still here, then it's induction day on Thursday so 6 more sleeps tops for me I hope!

Jodie - sorry to hear you're feeling so rough, hope you feel better soon. I would have cancelled my induction too in the same circumstances...do you have a new date yet?

Loubie xx

RGee · 05/01/2007 14:24

Jodie - you poor thing.
Loubie - a show! Most exciting!

Wilkie - garage phone call!!! Why do people pick their moments. My sister, who has 3 lo, refuses to text in advance, as she 'prefers speaking to me' - regardless of whether we are asleep or not.

OonaghBhuna · 05/01/2007 14:31

Congratulations to UD!!! I was also wondering about Elliepmummy is she getting having her section today? Anyway good luck to heraswell hope everything goes well.

Harry2007 · 05/01/2007 14:34

Congrats to UD!

Hope things go quickly for you Loubie!

Was also wondering about Elliep - hope evrything's going/gone ok.

LadyTophamHatt · 05/01/2007 14:36

congratulations UD,
Nemo has had her baby too.
Birh annoucmnet made by another MNer on her behalf, a baby girl named Chloe

JoJo32 · 05/01/2007 14:36

I've only just started to enjoy the fabness that is a daytime snooze... How come the sleep I get in the day is soooooo much more satisfying than the night time 'toilet trip' one?!

Anyone been tempted with any of the so called 'starters'?

Sex (yeah, right), Hot Curry (oooh, reflux), Castor Oil (bleughhh)... Now my stitch is out and I know my baby is the size of a small toddler I'm quite taken with the idea of a long walk and some heavy lifting.!

wilkie50 · 05/01/2007 14:42

JoJo - totally agree about the snooze thing - I LOVE my daytime snoozes, they are so much more refreshing than bedtime sleeps which are punctuated by toilet trips, uncomfy turns, annoying DP/DHs breathing/cuddling/rubbing their willies on you (BTW what is that about??? I know LTH had this problem but whenever I wake up in the night with DH cuddling me, even if he is fast asleep, Mr One Eyed Winky is WIDE awake and digging in my back. Nice )

Nemo - congratulations. People are popping all over the place!!

xx

Tillypup · 05/01/2007 15:11

Hiya!

mine may have been quick but it was eye wateringly painful, the baby did not "pop" out of me!

I've burst a blood vessel in both my eyeballs and given myself piles (whilst managing to avoid that delight through the whole pregnancy! At least I can prove that I really was pushing hard (despite wht the midwife kept telling me!) sitting down is agony, walking is agony but eating chocolate is not I had to have a couple of stitches in my front bum (apparently it heals better their than in the perineal area but hurts like buggery!) But joy of joys I didn't poo myself! The indignity of being stitched up in stirrups kind of took away from this though!

Issy is just lovely though, I'll post a pic when I download some and I managed to get away with not changing a nappy until this morning!

Good luck to everyone else, one word of advice RELAX as much as possible.
