This one seems to be the winner, and I can't seem to come up with anything more inventive, sorry!

how about a prawn and camemert stew with vodka sauce and nuts sprinkled on the side?!

Lizzzombie · 09/01/2007 15:40

camembert (?! sp)

wilkie50 · 09/01/2007 15:42

Lizzz - I have been watching Rich Stein's Sea Odessy (I know - I hand my head in shame) and he cooks all of these gorgeous shellfish and I SOOOOOOOOOOOOO want some

Feta cheese too in a salad with prawns

Mushrooms stuffed with pate then covered in breadcrumbs and deep fried

Brie and crackers

Medium steak that is nice and pink in the middle

All washed down with a tall Soco in a high glass filled with loads of ice and ginger ale.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm See what you've started??

wilkie50 · 09/01/2007 15:43

FFS - Rick Stein and hang - hate typing on laptops!

vinorouge · 09/01/2007 15:43

oooh I can't wait to eat all the stuff I've missed (antipasto at my fave italian being the most missed- the owner there has even put into the sweepstake of when the baby will arrive altho I hope he doesn't win as he said 13th). I have to confess I haven't been able to stop eating prawns. Feel guilty everytime I eat them too but just can't resist them.

Was just filling in an application for life insurance and paused when it asked for truthful alchohol consumption - I'll look very virtuous if I put my pg consumption or an alcholholic if I put my tcc consumption (was v stressed at work at the time) so decided to leave application for another day!

vinorouge · 09/01/2007 15:46

I'm hungry now!!!!!!!!

Have you noticed whilst pg that nearly all starters on menus consist of at least one thing we shouldn't eat whilst pg ?

wilkie50 · 09/01/2007 15:51

I went out for a meal last Thurs and EVERY starter contained something I couldn't eat - went for main and pudding instead

vinorouge · 09/01/2007 15:59

puddings have made me soooo happy whilst pg you could call me the pudding queen !!!! Have had one every day for the last few months and been quite upset that M&S no longer sell a jam roly poly. Can't be bothered to make one and altho was tempted by asda's own on sunday I didn't think it would be nice enough. However, tonights pud of baked peaches with ice-cream isn't very exciting is it.

theUrbanDryad · 09/01/2007 16:26

guess now wouldn't be time to mention the huge block of roquefort my best friend brought round for me on saturday?

a breastfeeding mother needs 500 extra clories a day - i fully intend mine to be emtirely in brie and prawns!!

Hattie2 · 09/01/2007 18:38

UD - that is not fair .

I can cope with no seafood or brie, but blue cheese is another matter!!! When is this baby going to make an appearance?

theUrbanDryad · 09/01/2007 19:46

well if it makes you feel any better i just sneezed and my stitches really hurt...

serves me right for being mean. sorry.

ellieandhattie · 09/01/2007 20:41

TrinityRhino · 09/01/2007 20:50

how old is ellie? at the mo my dd2 20 months alwasy ends up in our bed so I know that I'm going to end up with me and the two little ones in bed and dh not, he already doesn't sleep in our bed cause it's awfully uncomfportable to sleep with dd2
How is it going lady??? and ellieandhattie???

cant wait for my little bundle, 3 weeks and 3 days till due date, not that I'm counting

TrinityRhino · 09/01/2007 20:51

oops meant hows it going urban and ellieandhattie??

sorry can't keep up, LTH hasn't had hers yet has she??

theUrbanDryad · 09/01/2007 21:00

no LTH hasn;t popped as far as i know

it's going good here though....zac feeds really well and sleeps a LOT!! we had our first trip out today - to the doctor's then to toys r us, he pretty much slept through the whole thing but my heart was in my mouth for the entire time! when we got home i just sat on the sofa and cuddled him most of the afternoon. my arms felt so....empty, the whole time he was in the car seat.

madness, i know!

Lizzzombie · 09/01/2007 21:52

ahh UD - you made me cry with your empty hands!
(and gag with your mention of roquefort - ugh, its vile, how can you eat it? its like smelly feet!)

I was bad yesterday and binged, like properly stuffed myself with a big bag of peanuts. Was fed up of reading conflicting stories on wether you can eat them or not. I felt so sick all night though! And still sick this morning, so it was my punishment!

Re. (vaginal varicose viens - VVV) DP works with a woman who had these from 3 months into her pregnancy. So...remember girls it can always be worse than you think!

freedomfighter · 09/01/2007 22:37

have had a solid hour of baby moving really really madly - is this normal? Its sooooo uncomfortable.
39+3

Harry2007 · 09/01/2007 23:31

Good evening ladies.

Don't know if anyone's noticed, but I'm only ever on here late at night nowadays. There is some logic behind it though - I know I'm not going to sleep all night so I have to save reading the daily MN posts until the nightime as it helps pass the time!

Like the new name EllieandHattie!

From the recent posts, we might have a barage of babies over the next fortnight! Going for my first steroid injection tomorrow before the CS on Monday - 2nd injection is on Thursday - not partivularly looking forward to it!

6 more nights of sleep (or no sleep in my case) before I get to hold my LO. I'm getting really excited now

2Happy · 10/01/2007 08:24

Morning all. UD and El&H (great new name) - it's so nice to hear from you, and not to hear you tell us to stop moaning because it only gets worse! dh went to visit friends who had their baby on 29th Dec (despite only being due the day before me ) and she was feeding every 2 hours, day and night . Urgh. If it takes the baby, say 30mins to feed, and you've got to change it, and settle it back to sleep, and then get yourself back to sleep... And they have a 1 yr old and 5 yr old to look after too. That's pretty much no sleep then! Here's me saying it can't get any worse when the baby's born (hollow laughter).
Seeing the mw today, and she'll check when next consutlant appt is - she thinks he's down a week on friday, so we'd discuss induction (and sweeps ) then. Glad I gave you all a chuckle - it didn't hurt, whoever asked, and if I go as far over again then yes I'd probably be tempted to get him to do it again! What's to lose - I'm pg, there's no dignity left, lol! Probably better than the consultant who's quite a delicately built man with little fingers, I think dh has better reach! The trouble is, dh finds it all too interesting, he spends all medical things just saying "oh, it's like this in cows". At our 20w ultrasound instead of being teary at the sight of our next baby, he just kept asking the weirdest questions about embryology, I think the sonographer thought he was tapped. And don't get me started on ds's birth - dh wanted to tie a rope round him and give him a good yank to get him out! Yes, we don't do that in humans, Mr 2Happy. It's all they could do to keep him up my end! Hmph. Never mind, I'm still remembering the 2 toblerones he bought me last week, so he's still in my good books!
Any babies overnight?

vinorouge · 10/01/2007 08:35

No baby here overnight or signs of imminent arrival either . By not having a nap yesterday I managed to sleep through from 11pm til 4am when I was rudely awoken by a man sawing glass in the road outside - a very unusual sound particularly when its in the wee small hours. For a moment thought my heating had broken and PANICKED !!!! Next door neighbours seem to have something up with their front door so mind is racing as to whetehr they had an attempted burglary or an 'incident' themselves.....the mind boggles. When I finally got back to sleep dreamt about a door to door salesman not taking no for an answer and me struggling to lock the door in his face and dissolving into tears. My first words to DH this morning were 'please can we have a chain on the front door' - confused him somewhat!!!

JodieG1 · 10/01/2007 08:58

Morning. Had quite a big show this morning (been losing stuff the past couple of days but nothing this big) and also what feels like contractions but unless they get worse I won't know. I've been having so many cramps and painful bh's that I think I won't end up in hospital until I'm pushing lol.

2happy ds used to feed like that, every 2 hours day and night and fed for an hour at a time. It was hard work but having him in bed with us helped a lot. It'll be harder this time as I have dd in school (5 next month), ds was 3 at the end of Oct and this one. Can see the school run being fun

wilkie50 · 10/01/2007 09:04

Morning - have my 38 week midwife appointment today at 10am so am just off for a shower and then have to walk (!!!!!) to the surgery as don't get my car back until this afternoon.

Woke up with really painful period type pains again so will definately be mentioning to MW, plus my fingers are not so much swollen (bit bigger as I can't get my rings on) but knuckle joints are really tender when I bend them (WTF???).

Jodie - keep us posted!!

2Happy - you make me howl with your graphic descriptions

Hattie2 · 10/01/2007 09:20

Wilkie - I've got the same thing with my fingers, especially first thing in the morning for the last few days. It's really painful to bend them and the knuckle joints hurt like hell. Will be interested to hear what your MW says about it. If I didn't have appt with consultant at hosp tomorrow I'd be ringing up mine today. Just hope the consultant can do something to get this baby moving tomorrow.

LOL at your dh 2happy - I'm imagining a man with huge hands!!!

Good luck Jodie!

TrinityRhino · 10/01/2007 09:26

morning all

the school run hasn't even happened here yet and I don't even have the new baby yet.

d2 woke at 11 pm and then decided not to sleep again, managed to get her off again at about 5am and there was just no way I was going to rise at 7 and then drive at 8.20 with less than two hours sleep so we are having breakfast and will go to scool soon
god knows if she'll ever make it when the baby arrives

Lizzzombie · 10/01/2007 10:39

40 + 3
Still no baby.
Can I ask people why they are anti inductions? Is it because they are more 'aggressive' than natural labour? Obviously if mother or baby is at risk then fine, but lots of women seem to be against them, and I was wondering if there was a reason behind this. x
