This one seems to be the winner, and I can't seem to come up with anything more inventive, sorry!

Hi all!

Congratulations Elliep - she's absolutely gorgeous.

Lulumama - it's me having a CS due to severe SPD!

I saw my Consultant this afternoon and I am now officially having my little boy on Monday (15th). Have to go into hospital on Wedsnesday and Thursday for a steroid injection just to make sure that the baby's lungs will be properly developed. Will also meet the anaesthetist Thursday so that he can explain what's going to happen. Will have to go into hospital Sunday for pre-assessment and then Thuirsday, I'll be a Mum!

Good luck to everyone who's nearly there now.

Morning - does anyone know if your baby kicks much when you have contractions or if it doesnt move much?

Mine has been really quiet over the last 12 hours, could be because I have had f'king heart burn all night and feel totally gross though. No breakfast for me. Still digesting dinner. Great.

Hattie2 · 09/01/2007 08:57

Lizzz - with my first I spent the whole morning in hospital being monitored because I hadn't felt much movement. Went into labour at 11pm that evening - so fingers crossed for you!

lulu25 · 09/01/2007 10:12

mine has slowed down a lot as well (after i watched ER, Lizzz, which didn't help - if anyone's saving themselves for the E4 repeat on thursday I strongly advise against it). i think i will go for a swim, as that usually wakes him up.

Galmum · 09/01/2007 10:30

What adorable babies!

Harry2007 - Glad to hear you have a cs date - less than a week to go!

My LO is also very quiet - will do some prodding and bouncing just to check everything is ok. I think at 37+3 it's unlikely to be a sign of labour, but I live in hope!

Have just been to view a house to buy with dh. I have never seen anything like it - house in really good nick/recent kitchen & bathroom but horrendously dirty. I thought the crums everywhere/food on the floor was bad enough until we had to see the pile of clothes he had stepped out of in the bathroom, pubes on the wall of the shower, unmade bed, dirty pants on the floor and tube of cannesten on the bedside table. TMI!! I felt really sick! Dh and I could n't stop laughing in the car - the house doctor would be horrified!

I've updated Harry & Jodie1 on the list.

Some people have no shame when it comes to selling their houses!

Baby has been a bit more active. Think he is just feeling shitty coz I am. Really want to go back to bed for a snooze but know the dreaded heartburn will attack me again if I lie down. I had Gaviscon for breakfast. I cant handle this! I am designed to stuff my face, not diet!

Have cleaned whole flat, DP thinks I'm nesting...er no, its dirty and needs to be cleaned! Nesting is when you start cleaning saucepan bottoms and washing out cuboards etc isnt it?

Loubie37 · 09/01/2007 11:19

Aww what lovely pics, can't wait to have mine, only 2 more sleeps now until I get induced (unless he comes before then)

Harry, congrats on the C/S re SPD, I've got it bad too which is why I'm being induced early(although not as bad as you by the sounds of it!) You have my full sympathies, I made the mistake of going shopping yesterday in the hope that it would start things off but I've been crippled up ever since and can barely walk now. It's a good job labour didn't start in the end, I wouldn't have been able to open my legs!

Getting really nervous now, hopefully my 2nd sweep this afternoon will get things going before Thursday

Loubie xx

wilkie50 · 09/01/2007 11:22

Morning - just spent another £450 on my fcking car - cried like a baby for 20 minutes then my friend text me to say her husband is being posted to Basra for 4 months and she is devastated. They have a 4 month old little girl. Puts things in perspective so I have stopped being a twt and decided to do some cleaning!! I seem to cry at the drop of the hat at the moment anyone else the same??

Lizzz - my Bubba seems quieter in the morning then active at night at the moment. I suppose they are just getting ready for take off??

Thanks for updating the list Galmum - how are you feeling today? Bit better I hope - do people have no shame with their houses??? And as for leaving tube of canesten out - bleaurgh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Galmum · 09/01/2007 11:31

Feeling okay at the moment - probably because I cried my eyes out yesterday and I always feel calmer and happier afterwards.

Sorry to meintion this - Just after I posted yesterday, a friend called to say her little boy had died on Sunday. I knew he did n't have long left, but it breaks my heart that another little trooper has died and another family are facing what we're facing. We met at hospital and became friends during our sons cancer treatment. We lit a candle for him last night. I'm planning to go to the funeral, as long as everything is ok with LO.

Sorry to be trivial - I'm feeling the need to do some cleaning - I don't think it's nesting, just that the filthy dirty house has made me want to purify mine!

Galmum · 09/01/2007 11:58

PS Will someone please have another baby!
PPS LTH has been quiet recently - fingers crossed.
PPS Sending positive birth vibes to all those overdue ladies - Lizz, Hattie2 ,Looskin etc!

wilkie50 · 09/01/2007 12:00

Galmum - I was just thinking that LTH has been very quiet - hellooooooooo LTH, are you out there???

LadyTophamHatt · 09/01/2007 12:06

still here girls.

due today....it ain't gonna happen though.
I doubt it will be anytime before the weekend TBH.

Abso-fucking-lutely bored shitless with being PG now.

looshkin · 09/01/2007 12:19

Still here as well, MW did not want to do a sweep today not sure why???? Now 6 days overdue but being seen again at the hospital on fri. Have tried everything now much to DHs happiness (TMI!!!!) but to no avail. Feel cheesed off and pelvis v v sore and not been able to walk today but max of a week more to go so the end is in sight.

Glad to hear LTH all OK but no baby, Galum you are right letting out those emotions is the only way I cannot imagine how you feel especially with your most recent news try and keep strong.

To all the others with SPD much sympathy and everything crossed (except legs) for the next few days.

2Happy = any better?????

Off to down a sandwich and watch crap telly

2Happy · 09/01/2007 12:25

Oh Galmum how sad . Life can be so shitty sometimes. All we want to do is protect our lo's, and sometimes there's just nothing we can do. It's so unfair.
UD and EPM - gorgeous photos both of you.
Harry - so pleased you have a firm date now and can start looking forward to getting rid of the pain! And in less than week's time too!
Wilkie - I too am crying at sod all - blubbed during the last morse episode when he dies - FFS!
dh took ds shopping this am and, knowing he'd take twice as long as a normal person to do it, decided to get some housework done. Hoovered, changed all the bed linen, 2 loads of washing, cleaned the bathroom, cooked a rice pud and some food for ds, assembled the crib. Now my back is flipping killing me, and dh still isn't home! How do men do it?? However, have discovered a flaw to the "I've had one baby so am ready for another" theory: ds was born in June. This one will be born, well february at this rate but you know. How many cellular blankets do I have? Two. Two blooming blankets. How much use is that going to be, especially if this is as possety a baby as ds was?! More crib bottom sheets than you can shake a stick at, and 2 blankets. Bugger.

2Happy · 09/01/2007 12:27

Oh, hello lovey! x-posts! Yes no temperature any more, just cough and runny nose (and now aching back!) Why would she not do a sweep?? You could always tryt he patented 2happy sweep, if you can get dh to agree (dh still doesn't know I've told anyone, BTW!)

wilkie50 · 09/01/2007 12:37

2Happy - sorry if I am being blonde but what is the patented 2happy sweep - please advise!!

You've got me worried now about the blankets - I have three cellular blankets (two large one small) and a couple of other fleece blankets - do I need more?? [first time mum emotion]

Hattie2 · 09/01/2007 12:41

Blankets! Good reminder 2happy, just remembered that I borrowed from dsis last time and gave them back to here for her lo last Feb - bugger, just shows how organised I am! And have just come back from Mothercare as well, typical. But some news, I have now packed my hospital bag, so a bit of progress.

Have also done some tidying this morning, probably not enough to count as 'nesting' though - just enough so the new cleaner can see the floor when she comes round this afternoon

2Happy · 09/01/2007 12:43

Oh lord, am going to have to mortify myself and dh again. I mentioned this on a much earlier thread, so some people already know. dh is a large animal vet. And I went hideously overdue. And it was June. And I was desperate ok??!!!

We did a DIY sweep...

Waters went the next day.

All you need is a sterile glove and a tube of lubricating jelly...

Galmum · 09/01/2007 12:48

OMG!! Classic! You have really put a smile on my face!

I suppose he is used to sticking his hand up places where the sun don't shine and having a good rummage. As long as he did n't make too many jokes about you being very similar to his normal patients!

Still laughing - off to do some more cleaning!

Hattie2 · 09/01/2007 12:51

That story's just as good second time round - thanks 2happy

andyrobo237 · 09/01/2007 12:52

looshkin (hijack from Feb 07 thread) - I started with labour pains in my back - felt really stiff and sore and was in full blown labour with dd later that day - maybe why she didn't want to do a sweep - you may be in early labour anyway - heres hoping!!

wilkie50 · 09/01/2007 13:00

PSML - go 2happy!!! Would you do it again?? Don't think I would trust DH to try that.

We just tried good old nookie again last night (glutton for punishment I know) but his, ahem, stuff just didn't appear to want to stay in my, ahem, fairy....so I went through all that trouble for nothing

Galmum - stop cleaning - you are putting me to shame. All I can manage it to was a couple of pots then back to laptop, stick in some washing then back to laptop - honestly, this MN addiction is doing nothing for my housework.

tigersmom · 09/01/2007 13:23

very new to MN......DIY sweep - i'm inspired! not sure DP will be too keen, but may just do anythin to stop the whinging. I have 5 days left to go - had DS 3 days early so really hoping for some action, but not many twinges or anythin yet.

Have to say wish I'd have found MN months ago, would have kept me so much more sane!

Lizzzombie · 09/01/2007 13:26

2 Happy, thats hilarious!
Have my sweep booked for Thursday, really dont fancy it though. Wish baby would hurry up.
Very concerned, read elsewhere on this site that one woman didnt have sex for 10 months after giving birth due to extreme soreness down there. Think DP may take back engagement ring if I try that one. Though he has bad man flu at the moment, so is not up for trying to induce labour via the wilkie way! (I swear I dont know how you have the energy!)

Btw - I havent gone mad with the blankets, brought a couple of those swaddling/wrap blanket things which look safer and easier. Plus a couple of grow bags to pop him in when he gets a bit bigger.

wilkie50 · 09/01/2007 13:33

Lizzz - cup and turkey baster??? Would DH be prepared to try that???
