One of my eBay bundles has arrived. The chest of drawers is now full Blush didn't realise quite how much I had bought! I'm going to sort a bag out in the next few weeks but hopefully won't need it as I'm planning a home birth.

MollieRos · 21/03/2016 16:39

Eek, 34 weeks- that's a scary thought! I really hope he hangs on in there as long as possible!

iamdivergent · 21/03/2016 17:40

Just bought my changing bag off ebay - got a pacapod one for £30 retails at £115! Bargain. There were a few lassig for good prices too

bikingintherain · 21/03/2016 18:41

I've just started washing the linen for the Moses basket as its been in storage for a couple of years. I was so tempted to put it on, but I know it will just get dusty so have resisted. It's starting to feel a bit real now! that and I'm wobbling due to the pain of pgp

iamdivergent · 21/03/2016 18:58

I'm in quite alot of discomfort now - mainly around my groin area - wonder if this is pgp? DH says I'm waddling with a limp! How attractive.

Belleboo23 · 21/03/2016 19:15

I was told I was waddling and think I sounded a bit snappy when I said no I'm hobbling I'm in pain.....stupid pelvis! Saw doctor about it Friday and she sent a message for midwife to contact me and I've not heard anything yet just trying not to walk too much, be glad when it's school holidays. Baby is currently pressing something in my right ribs, forgot how unpleasant that feels!!

strawberrypenguin · 21/03/2016 19:18

I was on my feet a lot today and bump and back are quite painful at the moment. Hoping a quiet evening and a sleep will sort me out before tomorrow.
Picked up a huge bag of free baby clothes someone was giving away today, they are lovely so between that and what we kept we don't need anymore now.

bikingintherain · 21/03/2016 19:20

Mine has definitely been worse over the last 5 days with DH being away. I've had to do all the school/preschool/party runs and so a lot more biking and walking than normal.

JellyBaby26 · 21/03/2016 19:28

In my other June group (2015) the first one is very nearly 1!

AmIseeingRight · 21/03/2016 19:30

HI all - 30 weeks here - gosh time has gone by quick. Smile hope everyone is doing well.

Getting ready for the baby and feeling excited, with 7 more week at work. My job is very flexible so work from home quite a bit so will work til he's full term.

laughing H&M do the kimono style vests 2 for £6.99 and I got a few as figure in the beginning I wont want to be trying to get the other kind over his head until I'm a bit more confident. First time mum fears lol.

emma85x · 21/03/2016 21:11

Love reading through all of your posts. How exciting for those of you who are hitting the 30 week mark!! 😀 Glad to see I'm not the only one ebaying too!! Not sure DH knows just how much ebaying I'm doing!! 😂
On a separate note, I rejoined slimming world (midwife approved) last week and it's my first weigh in tomorrow. I'm nearly 28 weeks and have put on 21lbs which I'm not happy about at all! (high bmi) How's everyone else going with weight gain?

Stripes1983 · 21/03/2016 21:28

Hi ladies - hope you don't mind me jumping on board - I see this thread has been going for quite some time , I think I dipped in when I first found out but through lack of energy I haven't been on here for ages! I'm 28 wks with #1 and starting to feel like I'm getting bored of pregnancy now but feels like such a long time left !!

earlgreydrinker · 21/03/2016 22:50

Hi stripes. Also 28 weeks here and beginning to really notice the bump and its effects! On one hand it feels like baby will be here really soon, on the other like I have aaaages to go!
Midwife tomorrow. Going to have to be brave and ask about the varicose veins on my bits Blush. They are giving me grief when I stand for too long. Much better today when sat at work.
i have read all the posts about family coming to help. last time my MIL and SIL insisted they come the week of my due date (and stay with us). I ended up a week over and then had 5 days in hospital. They left the day after I came out. They weren't happy and it was all v stressful. Thankfully no mention of them coming this time. My family all live within 15 minutes of us and will be around to help but I would politely tell my DM / DS to leave if I had had enough and they would. DH would never do that with his mum! In fact he ran round after her when they returned 3 weeks later and she wanted a bbq at our house for her birthday (my MIL is a topic for a whole other thread ha ha!).

LouLou030783 · 22/03/2016 06:22

Reading all these posts is exciting I can't believe how quickly the 3rd trimester has come along its actually quite scary.
I'm starting to get nervous about starting the baby stage again after 10 years can't believe I've only got 9 weeks left at work though I'm really looking forward to it

TomboyGirl · 22/03/2016 07:29

Lovely to hear how everyone else is getting on! It is getting a bit daunting when I remember that this is the final stretch (30 weeks tomorrow..eek!😓) ....mad rush to the finish line now Hmm!

TomboyGirl · 22/03/2016 07:31

Of car seats and isofix bases....what are your thoughts on latter? Are they necessary?

mrsmugoo · 22/03/2016 08:16

Our car didn't have isofix points so we just belted the baby seat in but then we got a new car and DS needed a bigger seat so we got an isofix one.

To be honest I could belt the seat in a quickly as it took to line it up and click it on the base but it is marginally safer to be on the base.

LouLou030783 · 22/03/2016 08:21

Tomboy girl I've bough isofix base check out Isize regulations it gives u loads of great info

MadrigalElectromotive · 22/03/2016 09:03

I bought an isofix base because I think they are a bit safer, and I also thought it looked easier than belting the seat in each time. We went for the Recaro Privia because it was the top Best Buy on Which. I didn't know how else to compare the seats - they are all much of a muchness I think.

JellyBaby26 · 22/03/2016 09:47

Personally I would always rather use isofix than seat belt but that's personal preference and I believe it's a lot safer. That said if it wasn't safe then you wouldn't be able to do it.

We have maxicosi cabriofix and Base. Would recommend those who are looking at maxi cosI to consider if you will get the two way pearl Base as if you want that and have the family fix or easy fix Base you need to buy a new Base as well as the car seat.

Not convinced that makes any sense....

We got family fix and will now have to buy a whole new set up when she moves up.

Snowflake16 · 22/03/2016 10:16

Hi all, not been on here for a few weeks but have been keeping upto date with some of you on FB. I've finally hit 30 weeks today also!
Had a ante-natal class with our midwife yesterday about labour and birth, feel so much more happier and informed now. This is our first and things were a little scary to us before. She gave us a great list of what to pack in our hospital bag, I started putting somethings into a little suitcase this morning. (My friend had her first unexpectly 2 weeks ago at 35weeks so I'm preparing early)

Stripes1983 · 22/03/2016 12:09

earlgrey when are you due ? Your in laws sound a bit err intense ! I've had some SIL issues but MIL been ok so far - although she is baby obsessed and this is the first grandchild so expecting some hiccups! We start our antenatal in 2 weeks snowflake so hoping to be feeling reassured as like you this is our first so it's all a bit scary at the min !

TomboyGirl · 22/03/2016 13:53

Thanks ladies! Your views/ advice regarding the isofix bases are much appreciated!👍

nehagarg · 22/03/2016 13:55

Antenatal classes in April for us too. Cant wait. I am sooo clueless!

cautiousoptimist1 · 22/03/2016 14:58

Antenatal for us in April too, felt too early when I booked it! We are going for NCT as its our first and thinking it will be good to meet people as well as getting more info.

My in laws have been really supportive, careful not to give advice but always asking interested questions. I'm trying to think of ways to involve my MIL more and help her feel useful.

Neither family has yet made any noises about how long they plan to visit for once the baby arrives - my family are a 2 and a half hour drive away so I'd expect them to stay but hoping it's a couple of days at the most, especially if that's when my DH will be off.
